They had a great selection of mimosas, and it was definitely a fun place to stop and enjoy a drink. We would have loved to stay for a meal, but we were at the tail end of our trip and just didn't have the time. We'll definitely have to come back and try the food next time. We made a last minute reservation around 9 on a Saturday. The location was not busy however we were seated right next to another table in a almost empty room. We did have a stroller that needed space but there was a ton of space available. The table we were sat next too was very loud and so much so we had trouble hearing eachother. They did move us one table over when we requested. The server was very friendly and answered all of our questions, she was not an issue at all. The steaks were extremely underwhelming. At the prices we were expecting a really nice dinner. My ribeye filet was ordered medium but arrivedcool in the center. Definitely was more of a medium rare. It also was tough and almost bland. Our tablemates order filets that everyone was generally not pleased with given the cost and reputation. It was not elevated and defined not delicious. Once we knew that we were going to Chicago, we made reservations here immediately. We had been talking about going to Michael Jordan's Steakhouse for a couple of months and are so glad that we did it! It was everything we hoped for. What an elegant, gorgeous restaurant it is without being ostentatious. We were warmly greeted at the hostess desk and escorted upstairs and across the glass bridge to the dining room. We passed the Jordan memorabilia that we later looked at. In the dining room, we were welcomed by Hector, who was going to be our excellent server that evening. He was amazing with his perfect suggestions of food and drinks for us. He checked on us at all the right times and even told us the history of the knives display case, which was very interesting! He took pictures of us and treated us like royalty. What more could we ask for? Thank you, Hector. We ordered the New York Strip USDA Prime steak to share. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection! Practically melted in my mouth. I can still taste it. My daughter loved it also. We also ordered the Mashed Potato Trio consisting of roasted garlic, crab & wakame butter and a sweet potato brûlee. Again, a trio of perfection for both of us. To complete our meal, we added the Four Cheese Mac with cheez-it crust and four cheese sauce. It was the creme de la creme of a comfort meal for us. For dessert, we had the fabulous Creme Brulee. Oh, it was so good. The highlight of dinners in Chicago on the last night of our trip. We also enjoyed the soft music, the low lighting, the glamor, the decor, the elegance, the memorabila, our server, and the friendly staff. Classic steakhouse energy with a polished, slightly upscale sports-inspired vibe. It feels like a place meant for a nice night out without feeling overly formal or stuffy. We came in for lunch, had a reservation (didn't realize the time was incorrect because of the time zones but it still worked out), and we each got the lunch set. I got the filet mignon and the Caesar salad, everyone else got the burger, the chicken, and the tomato soup so we each got to try a bit of everything. I want to start by saying they were super accommodating to our group and dress attire. Apparently light business casual is preferred but they say our party in the bar area. It was perfect because we were right by the TVs to watch the games. Regarding the food and overall experience I would say nobody in our party was blown away. Our experience this evening was extremely disappointing. Four of us stopped by the hotel bar hoping to enjoy an appetizer and a drink. We had each had one glass of wine beforehand and were staying at the hotel, so there was absolutely no concern about anyone driving. Unfortunately, the waiter refused to seat or serve us, telling us that we were "too intoxicated." This was completely inappropriate and, quite frankly, insulting. None of us were intoxicated, and we were simply looking to relax and enjoy an evening out. It felt as though we were being turned away simply because it was late and the staff did not want to serve us. If that was the case, we would have much preferred an honest explanation rather than being treated so disrespectfully. We decided to take our business elsewhere and went down the block to The Evie, where we received wonderful service and had a lovely experience. I was highly disappointed with this location. I'm sad that the location in Oakbrook closed. I was in the downtown area and decide to pop in and grab a bite to eat. I walked inside there were 3 hostess standing at the front entrance. Not one greeted the guests. I was just escorted to a table near the bar area. I was told someone would be with me shortly. Unfortunately, I had waited so long, I had to get up out of my seat and ask one of the host could I be served. Everyone seemed to be lost and confused. Finally after 20 minutes of waiting, a hostess magically appeared. There was no apologies for my wait or a glass of water. I placed my order and kindly asked for a glass of water. I couldn't even believe, I sat and waited so long. Very unproductive & unprofessional. My fries were crumpled up into little pieces. My jumpman cocktail was filled with so much egg foam and not enough liquor. The whole experience was a 0. I won't be coming back. Need back training and etiquette. Cristal and Jorge both need a raise! In the meantime, the tip will have to do. I had not been to this restaurant in years, but when I saw a three course lunch special advertisement I couldn't resist. I ordered the garlic bread which came with a parmesan fondue. Maple bacon appetizer, the salmon entree a blackberry mocktail and the chocolate parfait for dessert. Although, every course was flavorful, I prefer my salmon to be a little more done. I didn't make a big deal because there was more to eat and I was looking forward to dessert. Cristal noticed that I wasn't eating the salmon and offered me something else. I politely declined and she smiled and walked away. Jorge later comes to the table and offers me another entree. Great experience - went for the name on the door, but was overall impressed. We got the special : 32 oz porter house and lobster risotto. Also got crab cake and Brussel sprouts. I was so happy that they had hollandaise (and they didn't even charge extra for it)! All the food was excellent and worth the price. This was our ninth or tenth trip back to MJ's (the garlic bread and a drink is a great way to end a long day of shopping in Chicago), and our first in the dining room rather than the bar. It was dark and candlelit, the service was fantastic, Douglas (the manager) was super friendly. My husband ordered a wedge salad and I ordered the heirloom tomato and burrata salad. We also ordered the Waygu meatballs and a half order of the garlic bread. Everything was AMAZING and we had more than enough food for the two of us. As we were celebrating my birthday in Chicago, they brought out an amazing flourless chocolate cake and birthday card before we left the restaurant. I remember going to Michael Jordan's restaurant back in the day when I graduated from 8th grade. Well this is a totally different concept, that was more of a sports bar while this is an upscale steakhouse full of wood and beautiful scenery. The food was ok not the worst steakhouse I've been to but far from the best. The stars of the show are on the appetizer menu, the garlic bread and the thick cut bacon. I grew up on MJ and the 90's Bulls so I love Jordan but I probably wouldn't go back. Just too many options in the city. read more

Sides: very run of the mill. The mashed potato trio gives a good taste of everything but the almost nonexistent lobster in the lobster mashed potatoes was overcooked. I would have loved to see fried green tomatoes, whole okra, succotash or some other North Carolina classic as we are in the house of the Goat himself. Great hostess, waiter was satisfactory. This was not on my list of places to eat in Chicago but I did end up here twice in one weekend (shoutout hotel bar and late night dinner). We were pretty happy with it. The cocktail menu was solid, bar tender was fantastic, and the St. Patrick's Day specials and decorations made it more than "just a hotel bar." No solid photos besides the AIR-spresso martini (made with tequila). I was kind of obsessed with the MJ topper on the drink. Also shoutout to the side of Brussel Sprouts. I came here with a $200 credit for a free 'staycation', the only way I would be able to afford this place! It's very pricey but it's a 4-5 star restaurant. It's a good reflection of MJ's life and philosophies. He has posters on the walls with basketball nets and quotations about never giving up and always wanting to stay on top. We arrived for a our reservation and were seated upstairs. I kind of wanted to be near the tvs but it was fine, I could enjoy the ambiance and talk to my party. I got a beer while my party got a lemon drop. The mark up on wine was kind of ridiculous! We started with the MJ chopped salad. The waiter was friendly and helpful. When I told him I didn't like the tap water, he offered sparkling and bought us a bottle. (It was charged to our bill, which I should have expected in such a swanky place). He also exchanged my beer out when I didn't care for it. The salad was crisp and great. We split the mashed potato trio (flavored with garlic, blue crab and goat cheese)! to go along with the NY Strip steak. We are not big red meat eaters so sharing is our best option, especially with the portion size. The seasoning and moisture were excellent, not too rare or too done. Our waiter sold us on what dessert to pick that was big enough to share, the Nutella Chocolate creme brulee with banana bread and banana slices (apparently MJ or the chef has a thing about bananas) It was so good, and I'm not a fan of banana bread but I would ABSOLUTELY eat this by itself! I usu don't eat much chocolate at night, so next time I'll come for lunch and share the 23 layer chocolate cake (get it, 23?) with 2 or 3 other people! I'd go back for VERY special occasion. When we first walked in, we were greeted by a hostess and two large staircases leading to the second floor. My fiancé and I flew in from Houston yesterday (07/10/2026). It was her birthday so we did a day trip to Chicago And one of our stop was Micheal Jordan's steakhouse. I had been once before and I enjoyed it however that was a few years ago. We had the bacon, I had the Delmonico steak, and my fiancé had the roasted chicken. 1st the bacon. The give 4 extra thick cuts of short bacon. The seasoning and caramelization of bacon were awesome. However, the bacon was overcooked so all four pieces were pretty dry and really chewy. 2nd I had the Delmonico dry aged steak. It was $89 and was able to cut it with ease, however it was slightly over cooked and had zero seasoning. Not one grain of salt nor pepper. It was probably the most bland steak I have ever had. 3rd the roasted chicken. My fiancé said it was pretty good however she didn't finish eating it nor did she want a to go bag. With the flight and other reservations I was really hungry and looked forward to eating my over priced food and beer and beer but to get disappointed with the food made me come write a post. i had over half of my steak left Mac and cheese and i didn't take a doggy bag. Maybe I'm a one off, maybe the normal cook wasn't there, and maybe a 100 other different things but what I do know is I had high praise and was let down huge. I absolutely love coming to MJ's. I have been here on my birthday at least six times. I always start off with a very expensive $36 shot of Michael Jordan's tequila brand, Cincoro. My son and I have a competition on who can finish the Wagyu burger. That thing is massive! The service is always 5-star! Even the outside valet is on point. My wife's favorite part about visiting is the lava cake. It is expensive. I average $500-600 for my family each visit. But I highly recommend Michael Jordan's steakhouse!
