Mike changed my panel to circuit breaker. When they finished my house kept Tripping breaker. Mike said I need another line $600 after paying $3000. I called another company and the inspector they toll me the panel was not up to code. Mike returned and did some work. Panel is still not up to code. My alarm and smoke detectors are not working. Beware! Michael Keohane sent his crew to work on my house. They started the work but never finished the job. They reported a mouse nest in the attic and stopped there. Keohane said-- call an exterminator and get back to me in two weeks. That I did. Afterwards Keohane said his men were on their way to finish the work. But they never came. Keohane's boys left exposed wiring unfinished and possibly dangerous. I had to find another electrician to complete the job. Unprofessional? To say the least. Keohane wouldn't answer or return any of my calls. He never explained why the promised finish didn't happen. I have no idea. Keohane, however, cashed a hefty check made out to him personally. I never even got a receipt. No paper. No completion. No good! read more

It was impossible to find an electrician to hang lights for us on the weekend. Michael, however, agreed to come on a Saturday morning to hang 3 light fixtures. He arrived on time, was very pleasant, and did an excellent job. I bought the wrong sized light bulb for one of the fixtures- Michael left the job and went to Home Depot and got the right sized light to make sure the fixture actually worked. Michael is great! We were going bananas with our interconnected smoke alarms going off every 2-3 hours, at all hours of the day. We changed batteries, we reset them, we cleaned them--nothing worked. We were afraid we had a problem with the circuit. Michael came over, worked his way methodically through each system, identified a faulty heat sensor that was still under warranty, and came back on his way home that day to install a new one. Late last night I had a crisis in which my thermostat broke and I didn't have any heat in my house. There are many things that can launch you into adulthood like owning a condo and/or having the furnace break in the middle of winter. Having been launched, I'd gotten one assessment of the broken furnace situation from a large plumbing company and wanted a second opinion/another quote on the actual cost to replace it because the large plumbing company's quote was astronomical and unattainable, but again, it's the middle of winter and one cannot live with a broken furnace. Michael responded very quickly and sent out a tech immediately, which was a relief to my panicked mind. They consulted via phone and then with me. His advice was honest and truthful. My 30-year-old furnace had lived a good life, but it was now a safety issue. It was time to put it out to pasture whether I and my bank account were ready or not. He patiently answered all my questions + gave me time to make a few more inquiries and to assess my funds, but was able to fit me right in so I wasn't without heat for long. His crew arrived early the next day and with only one slight mishap of when they rang my neighbor's doorbell instead of mine (she was not pleased), they got to work. They were an eclectic bunch who were respectful and thorough and seemed to enjoy their work despite my attic being rather small and cramped. They were also happy to answer any questions I had (new adult here, remember?) and even went above and beyond to help patch up a minor hole in the roof. Michael came back at the day's end to check in to make sure everything had gone smoothly. My bank account may be a bit lighter, but so's my anxiety. I'm so happy I called Mike about my "broken" boiler. Another HVAC company said my boiler was dead and needed to be replaced, and quoted me $6,000 to fix it (or $12,000 to replace it!). I am disappointed with the cost of the second visit and this company's follow-up with invoices. My husband and I asked for an invoice of the work we paid for on two separate occasions, and we've had to ask again and again with no response. I guess since they have the money from us and the project is done, they don't care to communicate with proper paperwork. Also, while the cost of replacing a vent hood was $150 (seems reasonable), the cost of replacing a faulty plug in our home was $256. Perhaps this is just the cost of living in Cambridge, but we will be going elsewhere in the future. In terms of the work itself, it is okay, but our projects were simple. We were happy with the first visit (though still never received an invoice after more than one request), but the second seemed expensive. Pros: Responsiveness in getting an electrician out to our home when a problem arises, the quality of work was fine Cons: They do not follow up when you have a question about invoices, and the cost of our second project seems excessive. read more

Not too sure why all the 5 stars reviews. Especially all of the "he called me right back" reviews. I called twice and never received one call back. The 1st time I called on a Saturday so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that it was the weekend and maybe I would get a call back during the week. I called again on Monday or Tuesday and as soon as I told them my # they pulled up my name and address so I was apparently on some list. My best guess is I was on the not worth our time list. I guess I will never know why they chose to not even call to inquire about what exactly I wanted done. Just a few quick new outlets added. I would imagine that'd be quick easy money.
