I had eaten at Michas years ago. We decided to visit it again over the holidays and we could tell it has really declined. First of all, I went into the restroom and there was a gaping hole in the wall. The food was poor and blah. We use to go here quite often before I retired. So, it has been about6 or 7 years since we were here. Got in and seated right away. Server was right there to take our drink order. We ordered spicy margaritas. They did there best and they were nice. I ordered the carne seca chimichanga while my wife ordered the carne seca tacos. The tortilla on mine seemed a bit dense and chewy. That was the only thing i did not like. It is served with lettuce and cheese, no beans I liked as I am not a big bean fan. My wife said her tacos were very good. For both of us, the carne seca was very good and full of flavor. We will have to go back more often. read more

We came here last Sunday, Mothers Day (of all days). The parking lot was full, walked through the door and were seated immediately (no waiting, right on!). I ordered their red chile chimichanga enchilada style and my partner ordered a carne asada combination plate. He wanted a small sample of their menudo and our waitress Lisa brought him a small bowl with lots of menudo (totally surprised by their generosity). He loved their menudo and thoroughly enjoyed his whole meal which he could not finish....leftovers. My chimi was huge, I could only eat half of it (took the other half home) and as always their chips and salsa were off the chain.....so good. My family has been going here for MANY years. This was the first time I had been back since the fire. I was pleased to know the food is just as delicious. It came out VERY fast too- like 2 minutes after we ordered. The chicken topopo is my personal favorite and it was just as good as I remember! The only reason I'm taking off a star is because the margarita was NOT good (like at all), and the service left little to be desired. Drinks were not refilled, and we were left without the napkins we asked for, and the staff was just kind of "blah"- it was a Sunday afternoon so maybe they were just tired? Terrible food. Albondiga soup was made with rice and jalapeños tomatoes and meatballs. No veggies no flavor. I complained they didn't care I finally decided to order caldo de res. The beef meat was tough unedible. Very little veggie yucky. Restaurants was unapologetic and defensive. Never going back and don't recommend. Been going to michas for about 4yrs., seems like they try new ingredients in the chicken meat. Over the yrs they've changed there carry out containers, but today's complaint is I got home looking forwards to the salsa for my meal, not in the bag, they put the salsa cup inside the container, on top of my food! GROSS!!! not sure where those cups are stored, how many people touched it, did they fall, did they where gloves, now inside and on my food, super disappointed in them, will be a LONG time before i will go back. If I could give a zero and ask for my money back I would. I got the cheese enchilada, taco, beef tamale meal with beans and rice. I was hoping for something good as I'm just visiting town but that is just flat bad. I shoulda bought a hot pocket from my hotel vending machine. Actually, I have only one complaint which is the male server with glasses. He's seems rude and impatient. Not very friendly at all. Good food for a good price. I had albondigas and chicken enchiladas combo plate. The albondigas were quite good. I got a small and it was a nice sized portion. They also put a lot of rice into it which I like. The enchilada combo was good. The red sauce is kind of sweet which I wasn't expecting, but it wasn't bad. Also, the rice and beans on the side came in small portions. When I stuck my fork in to get a scoop, it literally hit the bottom of the plate immediately. I'm used to Mexican restaurants giving a "heartier" portion of rice and beans. Also, my beans were cold when she brought my plate out. Overall, the food was good. The enchi plate was $7.75 so I can't complain when it comes to a price that good! Would I go back if I'm in the Tucson area? Sure, unless I find another place that I like better. read more

It's been a while since I last ate at Micha's. I think I got them on a bad day. The place was packed....a good sign....but we waited forever for our orders to be taken. Our server was apologetic when she finally came to get our order but the lady serving our salsa and drinks was not a happy camper. My cheese enchiladas were covered in a sauce so salty it was almost inedible. And the combo was warm and not piping hot. The chips were great but I wish we had a mild as well as hot salsa to go along with them. I'll return again some day but with so many wonderful choices in South Tucson, it might be a while. read more

We decided to go have some Micha's today for lunch after an appointment elsewhere. In the past, we've had decent experiences, which is why I gave an extra star, but today's experience was more like a 2.5. We both ordered carne asada burritos, enchilada style. It was impossible to taste anything on the plate because of the extreme amount of salt in the food, mostly in the enchilada sauce. It was unpleasant, and made me cringe a little bit from the intensity. The meat was ok, but I did get a few fatty pieces. The tortilla was good. The salsa was good. The portions are ok, but they should give rice and beans or some sort of side with their burritos if they are going to charge $8.50 ($10.50 with enchilada style and $13.00 if you want sour cream as well). The service was fast, but not overly personable. They just want to rush you out of the door and herd more people in as fast as possible. Overall, I'm still inclined to say give Micha's a try. It has been decent in the past, and I hope the heavy handed chef who salted the food today doesn't make it a habit. read more

Nothing special. Im always a little suspect of restaurants that already have chips and salsa on the table. The ones at our table were stale. the salsa was like fire. The cheese in the enchiladas wasn't even melted. The beans were running and the rice was like grainy stale sand. Not a good experience at all. If you go, go for the staff. I seriously struggled between giving this place 2-3 stars. I'm from El Paso, Texas and we know what good Mexican food is. We stopped there a couple of days ago from our trip to Sonora, Mexico. I don't know if this restaurant is so highly rated because the local taste is different here, but in my opinion, the food needs work. The salsa taste like pace picante. Not authentic at all. Salsa and enchilada sauce NEEDS to be spicy. That is literally in the name of the dish! The tacos we got were bland as well as the chimichanga. The albóndiga soup tasted like dirty dish water! Went to Micha's for lunch, which used to be good. The food was mediocre at best. One of the party of four got a Chimichinga. They wanted Sour Cream, Guacamole, and Pico De Gaio, to go with the Chimichinga, which is usually included at most restaurants. They were charged $11 extra.
