I've had my two cars in to see these guys several times. Service is always great, but it's what they don't/won't do that keeps me coming back. I needed my brakes replaced and oil changed and went to Midas in Chantilly. I was so impressed with their costumer service including their transparency and honest support. They said my front brakes look great even though I told them I needed them replaced. Mike encouraged me not to get them done. He even stated I didn't technically need the backs to get done but we went ahead with it anyway. I feel like when you go to car repair shops it's known that they try to push services. I was taken care of by Mike. And also spoke to Brian. they are very professional and very kind and attentive. Fare pricing as well. And they don't push any repairs on you. They advise you and it's on you. They give a 30-day grace period on the 40$ checkup fee. All and all they were great. Being nervous because when you are a woman and of age. The rip off flags goes up. As a young woman I have had numerous shops try to take advantage of my youthful face and perceived "naivety" when it came to my car. After struggling to find a shop I could trust I made the decision to return to Midas Chantilly. This shop served my family well when I was a teenager and as a new mom living out in Burke it has been worth the trek out to Chantilly for the top notch service and care. Between calling Mike to ask for advice, to honest and straightforward check ups on my car, to last minute squeezing me into the schedule, I was able to run my Subaru into the group before ultimately buying a new car. When other shops would say "you need a new axel", Midas would take the time to explain what they were seeing and how we could correctly prioritize needs and wait on big repairs. They have never once been after costly repairs before necessary and always understood my needs when it came to prioritization. Let's just say, I look forward to when my Honda maintenance package ends and I can return back to this reliable and top of the line shop. read more

A friend recommended I come here for an alignment since my regular shop doesn't provide this service. I made an appointment a week ago and the gentleman that helped me checkin this morning was very nice. I was told it could be up to an hour, but they were done within 30 mins! No WiFi but they do have a TV and some magazines. Would definitely return. Summary: Don't believe the 4 star reviews this place is suspiciously over priced. Details: Had two undrivable cars, was desperate since I have a family of 3. Felt taken advantage of, they told me the first car had a massive misfire from an oil leak. They charge me $2500+ for that. They pretended to care and gave me $40 discount, but when I got my receipt I see unnecessary work. I.g. they changed my battery which I could have done myself and saved $255 and my TMPS which is still broken. They Also fixed the second car which needed new spark plugs/engine coils. The charged me about $1300+. I shopped around after the fact and got quotes for as low as $500 dollars from other mechanics. Never going here again. Hope this post prevents someone from losing there savings. Would not recommend this place, if you come here make sure you do your research. read more

Mike was able to identify a couple of leaks in my exhaust system and get them repaired quickly and for a very fair price (lower than a quote I got from another shop). Not an honest business. I brought my truck to get an estimate for a muffler repair or replace and they returned with a $998.00 price tag for a muffler replacement then they refused to give me a copy but rather a written offer. So I took my car to another mechanic NAPA and after throughly inspection they cam back with $548.00 which included labor and parts.......!!! Half a the amount that I have to pay compared to Midas place in Chantilly. I just hope they are NOT targeting the weaker and innocent Females that know nothing about cars....!! Very Poor read more

I brought in my Jeep Wrangler due to a slipping clutch issue. They ran a diagnostic for my vehicle at a very reasonable price and I did not have to wait too long either. After the diagnosis, they sat down with me, explained the issue and the car functions as well as how the parts work. The manager ensured I understood what was happening and talked about different options on how to proceed. I did not feel pressured at any point during my visit. We were recommended to go to this location after our 2000 Toyota Corolla failed emissions at another, bigger, car shop. Mike and the rest of the staff at Midas have been amazing, being honest about what does and does not need to be done. We never feel like we are being pressured to address something that is not actually necessary. And, when they realized that fixing the emissions on our Corolla would be more money than the car was worth, Mike basically told us not to waste any more money on it. They helped us find another car at a reasonable price and we are so happy to have found this shop. We have switched to using this specific Midas location for all of our maintenance. read more

Came in for state inspection. It was fast and efficient. The wipers needed to be changed, it was done immediately. I have gone to this Midas for 3 years now and I refuse to go anywhere else (even having moved over an hour away.) They truly care and give great honest work, I have never once felt taken advantage of or over charged. They kept my last car running way longer than a car should have been able to, always worked with me on what I could afford at the time, and are always making sure I am doing what I need to to drive safely. I have been to the Chantilly Midas several times for an oil change now and have always left as a satisfied customer. Located in the inner corner of the Sully Place Shopping Center, Chantilly Midas has consistently offered great customer service. The mechanics are honest with their quoted prices, and have never pressured me into buying any extras (only suggestions). During my first visit here, the mechanic recommended that I replace my torn windshield wipers (with their own) for $25. I politely declined and no further urging or persuasion was prompted, which I appreciated. I highly recommend checking their website for online deals which are readily available. My oil changes have ranged from $25-30, and each time I have presented coupons for additional services including filter changes, 4 tire rotation/inspections, brake checks, and courtesy checks. All oil changes have only taken about 30-40 minutes and you are given the option to leave and come back, or to wait in their seating area. Their seating area is very clean, with a television mounted on the wall, magazines, and even a small children's play area. Appointments can be made via their online website or telephone, and they are very good with responding within the hour. Overall I recommend due to their prompt service and superb customer attentiveness! read more

Her customer loyalty paid off big time when a simple problem turned into a major one. I went in to Midas (after doing a little research online) to see about getting my car heat fixed as well as a headlight replaced. The mechanic was very friendly and seemed to be very interested in getting to the root of the problem (by asking a series of questions that indicated he knew what he was talking about). While I was waiting, the same mechanic was helping another gentleman who wanted to make sure his brake pads/rotors were in good shape for a long road trip. The mechanic told the man that everything was perfectly fine and that he still had 50% of his brake life left and that there was no sense in spending the money until he really needed it. It's rare to hear that in an auto repair shop - especially about a potential $600-$700 job. My problem turned out to be much more signficant than I had hoped, but the mechanic on duty talked me through the pros and cons; letting me know what my options were without trying to "sell it to me." He gave me an exact time in which the repair would be done. It was done 30 minutes early and the nice woman who works the desk put an unsolicited coupon on my bill to bring it down by about 5%. Took it to this Midas, and despite the fact they were booked solid with appointments, they still fit me in to take a look at my car. Sadly, my review cannot be glowing. Made an appointment to have a muffler replaced. Arrived on-time and turned in my vehicle. About 45 minutes later... which would have been more than enough time to remove the two bolts and the two rubber isolators and attach the new muffler... what I got instead, after this wait, was a list of "other things" (outside the scope.of work of muffler replacement) that they wanted to do. I'm so glad to have found Midas that is absolutely friendly and wonderful. I second the comment made by Kate. They don't take advantage of you here. I used to go to the Service Center at my dealership (big fail on my part) and I had my brake lights come on. I took my car in and had them take a look. The person at the dealership said that he will need to hook my car up to their computer and run some tests and I might need to replace the brakes that will cost over 400. I've barely had my car for less than a year so hearing this was alarming. My first instinct was thinking--I think I just needed some brake fluid. So I went to get a second opinion and went to Midas at Chantilly. I didn't tell them anything that my dealership said and just told them that my brake light is on and if they can check it. Their answer? "Oh you were low on brake fluid and we topped it off for you--no charge." ... I was sold from then on. I go here to get my oil changed, tire rotation, and VA State Inspection. They are really nice and will tell you what is wrong with your car and not jack up the prices just for business. This place gets very busy on Saturdays. It is best to go during lunch time on the weekday. They can get your car in and out in 30 minutes. I usually just go walk to Lotte and buy groceries and by the time I'm done, they call me to pick up my car. Great place! Will definitely be coming back for that oil change. read more

awesome very honest and keeps to their timeline. Dealership told me my brakes were 95% worn out, brought it here to get pads replaced. The mechanic told me they were actually only 50% and 20% (front and rear) worn out and my rotors were warped. Then he showed me the parts to explain it in detail. Told me what I had to do, and how much it was gonna cost, no charge whatsoever. After getting ripped of from various auto shops, it's nice to finally go to a place where they show and explain in detail. Trust me, I've done brake jobs before and he was not lying. Even gave me a quote for 30 days to come back if I wanted the services done. read more

Its a pleasure working with the guys at Chantilly Midas. They always do a great job on oil changes and inspections. The up selling on labor and parts, however, is frankly ridiculous. I saved $360 on a new blow motor and installation, by finding one myself on Amazon and taking it to another garage for the install. It's not often one gets great service and a decent price, but Midas over in Chantilly gets it done. I consider myself lucky to have found a decent mechanic and an automotive service company that can work on anything from a 1999 Toyota Corolla to a 2012 Subaru Forester. Matt and his co-workers have always been up front with what something costs and whether it is worth the time and money to put into a vehicle. They also tend to come in lower priced than the competition and they put dealer pricing to shame. So, if one wants damned good service from quality mechanics, this is the place to go. read more

The only issue, the reason why I didnt give a 5 star is because they couldnt find my wheel lock to do the tire roration, so it wasnt done. When I got to my car, it was where I said it was. Wow, I can't believe this place is getting these good reviews. Went for an inspection. They told me I had a cut fuel line, that I needed brakes...they quoted me $900.00 for a brake job and that I needed a new air conditioning system... The total quote was about $2000. I mean really, a brake job for 900?? I took this car to my regular mechanic. We put it on the hoist, and I personally inspected the fuel line....was not compromised. They charged my air conditioner with freon. It still is working! There was nothing wrong with it. The car did need front brakes...but, ANY mechanic in the area will do it for far less than $900 bucks, 100 bucks plus parts is my quote from others....this place is terrible...watch out. P.s...even tho I am a woman, I do a lot of complicated engineering....sorry...am not dumb! read more

Please do yourself a favor and go to another place for your car service. These people charge way overpriced for less than 30 minutes work on your car. They bill unnecessary charges on your check and then you have no way to pay for it. Most importantly they don't do a real thorough evaluation on your car. Give me a break just visually?! I can do it mine!...they do have way higher fees compared to other places in particular their for labor fees almost twice as car dealership fees unreasonablely high. Don't recommend... So just as an update -- the company rep. contacted several times and had a lot of back and forth but it was more of a show and in reality they did nothing to show they truly care about customer experience and that they leave their place with gratitude. read more

I have been going to this Midas for over 15 years. I have never had a bad experience with them be it an oil change, an inspection or replacing the lighting harness in my dash. While I may not like what the bill added up to, the prices are fair and the work done well. No one likes to spend more money than they need to, right? Recently, my 'low tire pressure' light came on, about 2 weeks after I had been in for an oil change. It turned out that it was just the cold weather we've been having, as all 4 tires were equally low. I was there less than 15 minutes and my tires were filled to the proper pressure and they filled my wiper fluid tank at no charge! How many times do you come across that kind of service today? When it's not recall or under warranty work, I bring my autos to this Midas. They are honest, straight forward, and organized. The gal running the front counter has been there for years and I really like dealing with her. I've never had to bring a car back for something they missed or repaired wrong. They accept walk ins but you are better off calling for an appointment to keep your wait time to a minimum. On Saturdays it's by walk in only. Over the years I've trusted them with 01 Passat, 98 Camry, 01 Echo, and 72 Pontiac. read more
