Date of service: March/April 2019 People: The manager and worker there were nice people. Very polite and helpful. They had a positive attitude when interacting with me Service: I went in for an Oil Change using a Groupon. They promised to be prompt. I also had a headlight that needed to be installed. I was told it would take 45 minutes and I got a call in less time that it was ready. I returned to pick up my car earlier than planned and felt satisfied with my experience. I left thinking everything was good to go. After driving around town the rest of the day, I kept smelling a burning smell wafting into the cabin. I didn't think much of it, sometimes a bit of oil spills or splashes onto hot parts of the engine. I figured it would go away. By the end of the day, the burning smell seemed to only get stronger, so I popped my hood. The mechanic had taken off a plastic duct to get access to the headlight assembly and left it sitting on the engine. This plastic was just melting away onto my engine. Now it wasn't completely damaged, just a little misshapen in some places, so I tried to replace it only to find that it would be held only by friction, the mechanic still had the retaining pins. I found a spare pin that would hold it and figured better than none but worse than having both. It'll hold. Now fast forward to now. I have driven less than 1500 miles since the oil change. My oil is low already. I'm realizing now I never checked the dipstick when I left Midas. Lesson: If you go here make sure you check their work before you leave. read more

I brought my car to the Midas on St. Rose in Henderson for brakes. They installed new rotors and pads for all four wheels. After a couple of weeks, the squeaking started. I brought it back and they sprayed something on them and the squeaking stopped for a few days then started again. I brought it back again and they replaced the front pads...again the squeaking started after a few days...I brought it back again and this time they replaced the front rotors and pads...again the squeaking started after a few days and was worse than ever...I finally decided to go to another shop and again the rotors and pads were replaced and the squeaking finally stopped. This Midas store must use the crappiest cheapest parts known to man or their mechanics do not know how to correctly install brake pads and rotors. I will never have any future work done at this Midas or any other Midas store! read more

Not happy - I took my van in to have the front end looked at. They charged me 1.5 hrs of labor ($150) just to tell me to replace the front struts and the lower control arms. I do have mechanical experience ( I didn't tell them) and any good mechanic could have diagnosed that problem quicker that 1.5 hours even with a test drive. I really went in just to get a price to fix it but they told me they would have to check it out first. What they didn't tell me is that they were going to overcharge me just to look at it. Don't do business here.... In addition to being overcharged for the diagnosis they told me they would have to take out the entire engine and transmission to change the control arms. Really? I can see taking off the engine mount bolts and jacking the engine up to get to some bolts but not take it out. I wish I could upload their invoice where they wrote this just to show everyone. On top of everything they told me that the struts were factory - NOT TRUE.... I have replaced them at least 3 times previous so this was another slap in the face. I have been the sole owner since it was bought in 2006. I am new to Boulder City so I no longer have my tools and garage that I used to have. I was looking for an HONEST shop to work with but I can tell you it won't be these guys. They wanted $3800 just to change the control arms and struts. Maybe if they don't know you they take advantage of you. I see all these other reviews where people are saying, "Pete this and Pete that". Maybe if I knew Pete the price would have been cheaper. By the way... I have never written a review on any company before but these guys actually motivated me enough to sit down and write one. #DISHONEST read more

Horrible customer service called a week in advance to make an appointment to have brakes and rotors replaced and was quoted a rather high price but had been using this location for brakes for the last 10 years but had not been there in a few years. Showed up at the appointment time and there was no record of ever making an appointment, mistakes happen so the guy that was behind the desk ( who wasn't very knowledgeable) told me he wasnt sure if he could get the parts and would have to call around to find out. it proceeded to help every customer in the store and every customer that walked in the door and every phone call that came in while I waited just to find out if they could take my car. It seemed like it was too much work for him to take the time and fix there mistake. Finally , I am sure to his relief I decided not to wait anymore and left to have the work done somewhere else that is more reliable. I will not ever be using this location again. read more

I took my car in for a oil change and it was done in less than 20 minutes. I am quite sure there was not that they could have rotated the tires and did a 16 point inspection. This was the worst experience I have ever had at any Midas location. I have been here twice before and it was never done this quick. I even got my oil changes at a Midas location when I lived in Philadelphia. Never again. read more

I made an appointment with Pete and I guess he forgot to write it down because when I brought my car in for an oil change they didn't have my name down in the computer. The older gentleman that was working was busy with another customer when I came in, but it still would have been nice to get a "I'll be right with you." Or some form of acknowledgement. When it was my turn to be helped, he was helpful though. He asked me who I spoke to because he couldn't find me in their system and told me it would take about an hour and a half because he only had one guy working. Thank god for groupon because he told me my car needed full synthetic and it would cost $85 for an oil change. I've never had to pay for an oil change before because I always got it for free at the dealership in CA. $85 seemed very high to me. I ended up paying $5 on top of my groupon for my oil change. I was fine with the wait because it's located in a plaza where there's a Home Goods and a Lowes so both places kept me busy for a bit. There's also a filipino restaurant right next door and a few places to eat in the same plaza. The waiting area has two couches, a TV and some coffee. I was able to get some studying done while I waited. Like promised, it took about an hour and a half for my oil change. I was told that my car needed a spark plug tune up and the estimate was $215. I declined and later found out my friend can easily do it and that the parts for my car costs $4.69 - $14.99. I think Midas is on the more expensive side, but they do have a lot of business coming in and regulars. 3 stars for squeezing me in (even though I made an appointment), getting my car back to me within the time quoted, and not giving me a hard time about any tune ups. read more

I have been going down the street to Discount Tire on Pecos (Rip Off's) to get mine and my wife's oil service done since we recently moved to the Seven Hills area. First they quoted me a laughable $800 for a water pump they said was leaking. It was, but had it replaced for half else ware. Next visit they told me I needed new brakes, pads were worn, so I decided to go down the street to Midas. I had stopped in earlier in the week to get a weld done on my exhaust heat shied, that's when I met Alex the new owner. Alex was a straight up guy from the get go. His permits weren't in for his welder so he sent me to the other Midas who fixed it for $50. I wanted to give him another shot, gut feeling! Alex and his boys did an inspection of my brakes and told me they were fine, still had 50% left. They cleaned them up, put the wheels back on and sent me on my way....no charge!!! Pete, the shop manager, has been wonderful. I have gone there twice: once because my windshield wiper fluid wouldn't spray (they resolve it by changing a fuse); the second when I purchased a used Honda and wanted them to check it for any mechanical issue or damage while still within the short-time, limited warranty with the dealership. Thought both visits were minor, I was impressed that Midas on St. Rose Parkway, provided both services free of charge. I truly appreciate that. That is great customer service. Thank you! read more

After walking out of Firestone I ended up coming here for a battery. Super friendly check in with about a 2 minute wait (you could learn from this Firestone). Lobby was comfortable and clean and I was the only one there. so while he went out to change my battery he gave me the TV remote (Firestone could learn from this also). I'm thinking I overpaid for the battery - they charged labor - I don't remember anyone anywhere ever charging me for labor before on a battery. I wasn't in the mood to attempt a third place and they were so much more welcoming and so much faster than Firestone I just paid it. He also ran a battery check for me and showed me the print out stating that it was indeed dead. Said he wanted to make sure they weren't charging for a battery that didn't really need to be replaced. Other than the cost I was very happy with the service. I was out the door in less time than it would have taken Firestone to even take my personal info. read more

I called on Friday and spoke with Pete who agreed to help me diagnose and fix my check engine light on my low miles 2009 Scion tc. Most repair shops said their folks who could fix it were gone until Monday already - at 2pm on a Friday. When I dropped the car off and Pete was driving a customer home. So I got to speak to a very nice man who chatted with me about my issue, and he was the one who would be actually doing the work. Both dudes were super nice, very helpful, and got me out the door the next day. Total cost was under $150 for my diagnosis test and repair, which turned out to be a ill fitting gas cap. These guys had great energy, and really helped me out in a pinch. No upsells attempted. They told me what I needed to know, and didn't talk down to me because I am woman. I will be referring lots of folks here. It's hard to find a straight up auto repair shop with good people behind the scenes. read more

Very disappointed in lack of service. I showed up at 8:50am looking to get an oil change. The man asked if I had an apt and I said no but was looking to get an oil change. He said "oh if you don't have an apt you're going to have to wait until 9:05 at least. There's someone coming at 9 with an apt". I asked why they couldn't just start mine and he said "an oil change takes 45 mins and I have to see if the 9am apt shows up first." I walked out confused as to why I would have to wait 15 mins on top of not sure if I would even be able to get an oil change. There were a couple guys there too. That was just not OK. read more

I've been bringing multiple vehicles here for a long time. As you can see from my previous review I liked how upfront they were and felt it was an honest place to take your car. Not sure I can still say that as it seems it's gotten a bit shady here. I called a few days ago to inquire about having my A/C checked as it was starting to blow hot air. Not sure who answered the phone but I was informed an inspection of it would be free of charge, just bring it in. I said ok I'd get back to them about making an appointment. The next day I was in the area so decided to stop in person to make the appointment for it. I'm now told it would be 19.99 for them to inspect the A/C and diagnose the problem, then the 19.99 would apply to any repairs I decide to do. Whatever though it's 20 bucks and I want to get it taken care of. I bring it in today (friday) and a different guy now tells me it's 39.99 for them to diagnose the issue. See a trend here? Never had this kind of crap with previous management at this location. 3 different interactions over a couple of days and given 3 different prices for the same thing. Went from "free" to 19.99 to 39.99. To be fair when I challenged the 39.99 it was dropped back down to 20 but the whole thing seemed shady. Going to be getting a 2nd opinion on my car after they told me 1,100 for the repair. read more

My car would not pass smog and I'm wary of taking my car to most shops. I usually do most of the work myself on my old' 93 Nissan pickup. It's a classic car to me and I don't just trust it with anyone, but in this instance, I was busy with work and just didn't have the time, so I took it to Midas and spoke with Eric. He was very professional and assured me they'd take care of it. After replacing a small part and giving it a tune up, it still didn't pass smog but Eric and Midas didn't give up on fixing the problem and did not make excuses. As a matter of fact, after bringing it back in, they went above and beyond my expected level of service and made sure I was happy. I can't speak for all Midas' in the area, but this shop definitely took their time and made sure the problem was fixed right, all without charging me another dime. It's refreshing to find an honest shop with a strong work ethic. This is definitely a place I'm going to take my truck back to in the future. read more

Pete is the man. I brought my car in to have the back window fixed and to get rid of the check engine light. The light came on due to a solenoid valve leak. I ended up paying less for both repairs than what the dealer quoted for the valve alone! They also left my car in the shade in the shop when I came back to pick it up. This location has been open for a year but I didn't know it . was there. Had my battery replaced this morning. A little pricy but the service was excellent. Pete Mc Knight, manager, was very honest and friendly. I like it that they open at 7:30 in the morning. When it's time I will try them for some of the other services they offer. i.e. oil change, etc. NOTE: Effective 6/28/2014 they are changing ownership. Pete is being let go. Pete has to be my favorite auto repair person ever! Super friendly, honest, compassionate and knowledgable. He takes the time to explain things and made me feel completely comfortable with them working on my car. They got my AC recharged, cabin filter changed and it's a whole new car!!! I thought I finally found a trustworthy place to take my car. I've been here several times in the past but today I feel they are out to get me just like all the other places. I wanted them to replace a faulty mode door actuator for my a/c. The dealership was going to charge me $585 and I said to myself I could get a better deal if I tried Sun Auto. When I took it in, they wanted over $800 at first and when I told them the dealership was going to charge me lower, he came back and said he cannot go lower than $579. What the heck? How much is it really? Had I said ok I would have paid over $200 more? I really don't appreciate being taken advantage of. You just lost a repeat customer! read more

ZERO Customer service. I had my truck serviced at a Midas in Texas. On the drive from Texas to Las Vegas it started shaking as though I hadn't just spent $2500 to have things fixed. I found the first Midas(this one) in hopes that they could run a diagnostics or just listen to the sound. The guy (thinning hair, mustache and crooked teeth) told me it would be $99 for a diagnostics even though I'd just had my car serviced by a Midas in Texas. I explained to him again that the idle air control was fixed on Tuesday(today is Thursday) and when I left everything felt better until I made it to Arizona. He asked if I had receipts, I showed the guy my receipts; he said "Wow, you did have a lot of work done, I can't get you in until Saturday". I said "Sir, I have literally only been here hours and that is my only vehicle, I still haven't found a place to live(I had to cancel everything for the day), my dogs are in the car, I just need a little help. Does Midas only guarantee work if done by the same franchise?" His reply was I'm not going to cancel scheduled work to look at your car. I understand they are busy, but the fact that he wasn't willing to offer any help, not even redirecting me to another Midas is a shame. My first experience here in Vegas was terrible. This Midas is terrible. That guy was terrible. read more
