I ended up bringing it here for a 2nd opinion. Their front office woman was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. My cars check engine light came on, so I took it to autozone first to use their screening diagnostic thing (for lack of better words). They said it could be A & B (trying to make this simple). Took it to Big O Tires on Pecos, 45m later they give me an invoice that now is showing B, C, D, E, F, G..... $1,400 also. After some tears were shed, I decided to get a second opinion at Midas on Saint Rose. Becka helped me, and actually READ THE INVOICE! and said "I can either meet it or beat it, I will not charge you more". Looking over it more, she says "if autozone said A & B, why didn't that show on Big O Tires invoice?" I said well that's a great question lol I agreed for them to keep it overnight. ok,". **crosses fingers and prays. I get a call the next day saying "we're going to work on A & B, C-G don't need attention" in conclusion, Ernest went on the side of my engine to fix what needed to be fixed and only $553 later. Not once did Becka bad mouth Big O Tires. She was extremely professional while we spoke in the front office. I'm so grateful for Becka and Ernst and Midas for being so reliable and HONEST! It's hard to trust car repair places because of people like Big O Tires, but Midas treats you like a friend and not a customer. So again, thank you! I was misled and overcharged for a service that was not completed. I paid $1,000 for fixing a power steering leak and had front breaks put on. Went home and still leaking power steering fluid. Gave my old 2002 Tahoe to my nephew for graduation because it's always been a reliable vehicle. As most know after 10-15 years the rear main seal goes out on these trucks causing a oil leak. Well came here to this Midas to get the truck squared away. The professional staff here made feel welcomed and valued as a customer when we dropped off the truck. After inspection from the mechanic a recommendation to replace the water pump was made as well. Approximately $1400 later and the truck was good to go and done expeditiously. Unfortunately a week later the truck began to leak again. Had my nephew go back to the store and immediately they went to work had to leave the truck again, they got my nephew up and going with no leaks at. Now the truck is running even better then before and the whole time this was going on never was I treated rudely or as if they didn't want to do the work. Very hard working honest crew!! I've never been to a Midas before, but after reading the sub-par reviews of other car repair shops in the area--and the better reviews of this shop--I decided to give them a try. I had 4 new tires installed recently but the tire shop didn't offer alignment services so I chose this shop to get a 4-wheel alignment done. I called and made an appointment for the next day. The lady on the phone was helpful and pleasant. When I arrived the next day, the gentleman at the counter checked me in, advised they were just finishing up an alignment on another vehicle and said they would put my car up on the rack immediately after the other car was done. I've had alignments done on other cars before and I knew it should take about an hour or so. I asked the gentleman to please call or text me when the car was done which he said he would. I went out to take care of some errands and I returned almost an hour later. The gentleman at the counter said the technician was out with my car on a test drive and that my car was almost finished. When the tech returned, the gentleman at the counter said that the alignment on my car wasn't off by very much and he was kind enough to give me a break on the price. I paid the bill, picked up my keys and a copy of my receipt and I left the shop. I can't speak for others who have attended this Midas before, but from my own personal experience, I received prompt, courteous, professional service (no pushy sales people trying to upsell additional unnecessary repairs) and I would be willing to take my car back to this Midas location for service again. read more

Love Midas for my oil changes. They usually always have a coupon for oil changes too! The lady upfront mentioned she was from a different location but she was super friendly and informative. The only downside of this visit was that they took foooorever due to not having a certain filter in stock but instead of letting me know, they were just having some miscommunication with their vendor and delivery of that certain part/filter so that's what caused such a delay. Other than that the service has always been great, and they always let you know if you need certain filters and what not, bc myself alone I would not know all this info due to having a new car and still getting to know my car! read more

Tried to change my own brakes only to find the caliper had issues outside of the tools I had. Went to Midas. Now, mind you, I already KNEW what was wrong with the brakes, rotors, and calipers. I also knew my shocks needed to be replaced. And mind you, I'm a woman. When they did the assessment on my car, they told me EXACTLY what I already knew and showed me one thing I didn't know about but could wait for. I saw they had a financing service and told them to do the brakes, rotors, calipers, and shocks. $1200 later with affordable payment plans and my car was driving like new! I recommend to go to Meineke. I had been a customer for 4 years and then they decided to jack me around with new ownership! Was told that brake pads would be $160 by Ernie when i had a oil change done. I went back a week later and the other guy (Ernie wasnt there) told me it would be $305 even though i told him what i was told a week before! The guy was adamant that it is never $160. I called the midas at Windmill and they said $199 with reconditioning if needed. I end up at Meineke for the $160 and cutting and reconditioning! New, about 30 they have been here. Located on St. Rose Pkwy Just above Eastern. so new the fish tank they have , has water and coral but no colorful little fish. So, they say first impressions are everything.... Well, the gentleman that was working the desk/computer/front operations.. wasn't the most friendly.. Standard basic oil change $39.95, but I knew I saw a Groupon for $15, OH YEA!! but... it didn't include the cleaning like there regular priced oil change does. He said you can add it for 19.95, Really? why isn't that part of the package.. ? Then he proceeds to tell me I have a 45 minute wait. I had a scheduled appointment... I walked in at 4, left at 5. He just had an attitude, that I would recommend to not have with people that are planning to spend money in your shop. That is keeping you busy. The mechanic nice man from Guam. Very Friendly. I asked him if certain points Butwere checked... tires roatated.. battery check etc. Says yes.. all is good. You just need Struts, all four. they quoted me $1300.00, that the parts, labor and the Alignment. OUCH!!! rip off... Im myself am able to buy the parts for about $400. ... Alignment was $99... That's a lot of $$MULAH$$ for labor. I've decided to go else where. Asked him again if my battery was okay because I was having prior issues. He said Yes it BRAND NEW!!! (now this isn't my car so I didn't know when it was purchased) The Next day Tuesday 5th of February my car, doesn't start, not even turn over, no lights will turn on.. So I Charge my battery that evening and take it to Autozone where they do a Free Check and Its completely dead.. Fantastic.. $115 dollars later I have a new battery. and backtracking... to the front operations man.. I needed a quote for the Struts/Shocks.. He was friendly at that point. and said we can get you in right now. uhmm sorry fellah but ive got to think about that one. as women men think that they can over charge us. no way. but my oil got changed and is running good. ! :) read more

No one likes to take their car to the mechanic, regardless of why. However, if I ever have to bring my car to the doctor, this is the only place I'd ever take him. I was immediately impressed with the waiting area, furnished with two leather couches, coffee, tea and water, and a big screen TV with The Price Is Right. This was definitely a step above the typical stinky waiting area with plastic chairs and oil smudged...everything. There was one person ahead of me that was being serviced, but the guy at the desk made a point to acknowledge me when I walked in. That "guy at the desk" is what made this visit exceptional. His name was Pete, and he was the manager. I came in for a synthetic oil change, and within five minutes I could tell this was a guy who has a lot of pride for what he does, and has a customer-centric work ethic. After seeing which oil my fiance wrote down, Pete educated me on why a better oil was suggested, and gave it to me for the same price, as opposed to the Summerlin location, who said the better oil would incur an additional fee. The mechanics in the shop were all very nice, thorough, and quick! I noticed they follow a specific point to point workflow, which definitely kept things moving. When my car was done, I braced myself for the "list of possibly real" suggestions, but to my delight, the only suggestion was "change the wipers", which we had in the garage. When I told Pete this, he told me I should have brought them in, and they would have done it at no charge! Then he answered a question about my other car, one that the dealer I bought it from (brand new) hasn't been able to answer or fix for seven years! Overall, exceptional visit. New ownership seems to be a downgrade from "Pete"....took vehicle in for a simple oil change and had grease hand prints inside my car I had to wipe down...another big one on the hood where the shut it...and did not wipe oil pan down as I had nice leakage in my driveway the day after the change....take your oil change somewhere else. read more

A warning to any potential customers: pop your hood before you leave the garage. Recently I went in for an oil change and air filter replacement and this will be the last time. My oil cap was never put back on and I was told everything was good to go. Drove 15 minutes home to find smoke coming from my engine bay. Immediately I noticed oil leaking from the bottom of my car and when the hood was lifted it was clear oil has sprayed everywhere. I call the shop and the manager or lead seems to be a genuine guy but his team is sub par. Manager tells me "sorry our bad" drive the car back and we'll clean your engine. Upon arriving back they take my car to "clean" it and a little while later I'm told it's good to go. I begin driving away and decide to check the engine bay, guess what was found? OIL dripping off the hood and pooling by the windshield! I immediately drive back and offered to do it myself with their supplies and was told no they will handle it. At this point I'm 2.5 hours into a 45 min oil change and have to go to work so I leave again without checking a THIRD time. After work I check and again there is oil saturated in the lining of my hood. After three days of scrubbing I'm almost done cleaning the remaining oil from my hood and engine. The laziness that was shown to my vehicle is completely uncalled for. Please use another location or at least triple check your vehicle before leaving this location. When I asked if there was any form of compensation for damages I was told I can have a free oil change next time or $50 back. $50 was less than half of my total for the day. with the laziness and amount of my own time I've had to put into cleaning my car this is basically a scam. I literally still have oil handprints all over the hood of my car for the mechanics. Yelp, before you flag for removal I have pictures, texts, and receipts I can add additionally as proof if need be. I went to this Midas because I needed a breathalyzer installed and the company said this location had specialists to install correctly. I've had nothing but issues with my vehicle draining the battery and just not starting since the device was installed. Mercedes has checked the car twice and said there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car, they even replaced my battery for free to make sure all was well. My car broke down again, Mercedes inspected again and determined it HAS to be the device or the installation of but they didn't install it, so weren't going to work on it (understandable). I had it towed to Midas and right away, Erik (who installed the device) tells me it's not his problem, it's the car, I'll take the device out at your cost but that's it. The breathalyzer company said they would cover cost of replacement, but won't now because Erik says the device is fine. Of course he does, because he installed it, why would he admit fault?? So now, I'm stuck with no car because I can't have the device removed without legal issues and I am told I'm held financially responsible for removal, reinstallation, new battery and no guarantee that anyone knows what they are doing in order to get my car back to running order. WOW. So much for customer service. I gave you a running vehicle, only to not have it broke down and absolutely no help in getting it back to running order when Midas is the place I was told to go for this service. If you need a breathalyzer, DO NOT GO HERE, they won't put it in correctly and they will make you pay for ALL REPAIRS to get your car back. read more
