Honest repair shop, always! The car drives great after taking it to Midas to check a rattling noise. It was a loose bar link located somewhere underneath the car. This cost $102 including an oil change and tire rotation. My minivan once again drives like a smooth dream. The original auto repair shop who I asked to inspect the noise estimated $1,300 because my whole suspension was worn down. Ha! The only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is because my battery situation wasn't taken care of. I had a new battery in the trunk, but I was told it was too big. Ideas anyone? Maybe b/c they knew I'm budget-conscious, they did not offer another solution. read more

I have visited this Midas location multiple times in the past six months and each time I have received excellent service. The employees are pleasant, and they are never pushy. I don't feel pressured to purchase repairs that are unnecessary, unlike other vehicle maintenance shops I have visited. During my most recent visit the employees inspecting my car alerted me to a screw that was lodged in one of my back tires. The screw was in a location that could not be repaired and it posed a serious hazzard, so this meant new tires. The employee working the front desk that day, I believe his name is Alex, was extremely helpful and I was able to get a new set of tires put on with no hassle, and I got an excellent deal on them. I went in that day for a simple oil change and was not expecting to deal with tire replacement at this time, but Midas made it as painless of an experience as it could be. I definitly will be returning her for my future vehicle maintenance needs. read more

Absolutely don't go here. Zero stars. I had repairs done that didn't last. The belt tensioner was replaced once and then repaired again under warranty. However it failed again. Apparently only expect them to last 1,000 miles when getting them replaced here. I feel very suspicious about it considering they broke my AC compressor and hose during a "repair", so I'm truly left to wonder if anything else was screwed up while my car was there and brushed under the rug. I had to go to a different mechanic to get the belt tensioner replaced, but at least I can trust it now. Save yourself the time, headache, and money and go somewhere else from the beginning. read more

I've been a frequent Midas customer at other locations, so it was disappointing to discover that this location was not one I could depend on or trust. I took my car in for a simple oil change and a diagnostic. I think it's common for car shops to come back with a list of recommended tune ups and maintenance, but some of the things they flagged to me seemed a bit fishy and conveniently "urgent" like a battery corrosion or that apparently one of my tires was damaged and I'd have to replace the entire tire. I opted out of a lot of things and asked them to just fill my tire with air without replacing it. Several weeks later, the tire is still fine and taking it into a car shop, they told me there's nothing wrong with it and that the pressure is stable. I'd advise caution when coming to this place and getting a second opinion if they raise several issues with you. It might save you from needlessly spending hundreds of dollars because of scaremongering. read more

They have always been very friendly and accommodating, even seeing me without an appointment when I needed some extra work done to fix a headlight. Where do I start? I had my tahoe brake line replaced and within a week it had a hole in it again, I had to have my uncle replace it. They put the brake line in wrong and it kept bumping up against the frame so it poked a hole in it. Took my van there to get front end work and within a month it was broke again, took my car there to get muffler work done my muffler popped off so I took it back and one of the employees tried driving it off the lift and it popped off again shoving my muffler up into the frame so they did a quick patch job and and sent me on my way only 2 days later and it popped off again so I ended up going to an actual muffler place and have not had any issues, I do not recommend going here unless you want to keep bringing your vehicle back multiple times for the same thing. It has went down hill. This use to be our go to place. They either hire people who don't know what they are doing or they are just trying to rush to get multiple people done and out. They need to take their time. I emailed them to remedy my issues and never received an email or call back. I will never go here unless it's my last resort. read more

Simply for the sake of proximity to where I live, I've been taking our 2 cars here for oil changes for the past 2 years. Unfortunately it has not been the most convenient as they require you to schedule appointments to have any service done. But today was the last straw. I had scheduled an appointment on a Saturday in advance, but due to the construction on University, I arrived 10 minutes late. 2 of the employees were completely idle in the garage. Much to my dismay, the representative at the front desk told me they would have to reschedule me during the week because I was late. God forbid they make an adjustment to their schedule. I explained why I was a few minutes past my appointment and asked if they could please just understand and accommodate me. His reply was, "Well it takes about an hour to do the oil change, courtesy check, and tire rotation. We could just do the oil change, but otherwise you'll have to reschedule." Seriously? Here's a piece of advice - if you're even going to use the term "courtesy" in your service, you should probably cater to your customers instead of turning them away. In my mind, that's not how you run a business. So I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

John is simply one of the best car mechanics I've ever worked with. He's a straight shooter. He showed me the issues with my SUV is and showed me the cost of the parts and explained labor charges. His problem solving and willingness to look into alternative solutions to fixing my AC saved me hundreds of dollars. My bill was reasonable and the work was done in a timely fashion. Overall the communication from everyone at Midas on University was exceptional. I took in another car after Zimbrick Eastside said the front brakes needed replacing I will be taking my cars to John as long as he works there. read more

I went to Midas because when I called them for an appointment, they were able to get me in the next day to see what was wrong with my car. They also seemed concerned that I was driving my car with the Break light on. When I brought my car in, I waited until they found out what was wrong with my car. Not only did they tell me what was wrong they also showed me. It was great not feeling like the "woman who knows nothing"! They could have upped their charge as they were not sure if the Master cylinder was bad and could have just told me it was. Because they were not sure of how long the job would take, they even gave me a loaner!! I will definitely be (and already have) passing their name onto people I know and I will be back with my car. The Assistant Manager Alex Thomas and the Store Manager John Ciesielczyk don't know what a paid voucher or what a coupon is. They make you wait 20 minutes to get the coupon confirmed from corporate. They believe any coupon or paid voucher you bring in is a fake or a printed out scam. read more

I had been going to this Midas for over a year. They have done several oil changes on both of my cars. I recently moved and I had to get an oil change elsewhere. I walk in expecting to get an oil change when the new auto shop informs me that they have to get me a new a oil pan because Midas crossthreaded my plug. 678 DOLLARS LATER, I call Midas to get a refund. They don't want to cover it. They claim that aluminum oil pans always need to get changed (even though my car only has 140,000 miles on it). Nice right? Don't go here. Midas costs less, but it will just cost you more in the future. read more

I had very "interesting" experience today. 6 days ago schedule appointment online for 7:30 a.m. for oil change. I got here at 7:30 a.m., waited for 15 minutes in line. Then front desk person Justin told me that is no any technicians until 8 a.m. Waited for 15 minutes more. Then tech showed up and pulled my vehicle inside. I tried their coffee - very funny taste, reminds me a coffee from Sri Lanka I had once on vacation a while ago. Tastes like it was brewed couple days ago and they warm it up for me this morning. But it was great morning and I don't believe everything was bad in this shop. FREE WI-FI!!! After oil change, they adjust/check my tire pressure and tpms tire pressure sensors stopped working. Front desk person said it's my vehicle computer malfunctioning... What a coincidence. Never had any problems before. I will study this problem more and ask my friends for advice... My boyfriend had gotten his oil changed at Midas for full price, after which they gave him a receipt for a FREE oil change, which he gave to me. I scheduled an appointment just a couple hours before arriving, and even explained in advance I might be a couple minutes late--they said this was no problem. In addition to the overall courtesy inspection they do during an oil change, they also check your manufacturer's timeline for services to see if anything is "due" according to mileage & your model. Mine said a new cabin air filter was due, and in their inspection they found I needed a new engine air filter as well. My experience at these kinds of auto places is generally that they try to charge you as much as possible and strongly encourage/push every expensive upgrade as well. NOT the case here! Not only was the oil change free (John was super helpful & didn't push for a more expensive version), but when I asked for his honest opinion whether I really needed the cabin air filter replaced, he said that was more optional/up to me. It could affect how fast/smoothly the air conditioning/heat flows, but if I haven't been experiencing any issues there or strange smells, the car's performance is not negatively affected if I don't replace it now (the cabin filter would be $75 to replace); he DID, however, say the engine filter should be replaced as it directly affects performance and I'll get better gas mileage if it's replaced (this filter cost $25). I was grateful for this honest answer--him recommending the switch of the piece that was a third the cost of the other. I ultimately decided to replace both since I was already there and he had been so helpful. I would definitely go here again! read more

There are a few honest guys here, but there is at least one manager that is a total liar. He did everything he could to get out of rotating my tires, which I paid for. First, he tried telling me that the better tires should go on the front of the truck. I don't know where this guy got his mechanics license. Then, when I told him to no, he told me my lugs were swollen and they couldn't fit a wrench on them, and could replace them for a very high fee. I had him show me, and he brought an 18 mm wrench and showed it didn't fit. I later investigated and found out it is a 19 mm nut anyway (kicking myself for not demanding he try that on the spot). On top of all that, he still charged me for the rotation and not just the oil change. read more

ccame here to get my oil changed and to get my rear brakes fixed. Everything was great. They have a TV and the chairs in the waiting room were comfortable. There's also free wifi and plenty of power outlets. I asked to be dropped off at the DMV a couple of Bocks away and then when I was done, I just walked back. The prices were comparable to another place I got quoted at and with a coupon I printes up off of their website it was fine. I called at noon on a Wednesday and got an appointment for 2:30 that same day. John was working in the front office and was very friendly, respectful and helpful. One guy even put my new plates on my car for me. read more

Pulled in with an undriveable car (turned out the brake caliper was loose) on my way through town. They got it up on the rack in 15 minutes, replaced a missing bolt, checked and tightened the same bolt on the other side, and didn't charge me (beyond the $22. inspection fee). My car was towed here for work and the price given to me was 700 for car over heating. I suppose my fiance did not receive voicemail in time when they called back for price and within a week (over thanksgiving) the shop got the car towed stating it was abandoned. I had to pay for my car to get out of impound as well as an ticket. All they had to do was call again, I am sorry calling one time and leaving a voicemail does not mean the voicemail was retrieved. understand they felt like all they needed was that one call but courtesy would have been nice. I thought it was taking some time and I called to find out he called the police to remove the car. He was pretty stuck when I listed the time of events...... Funny because I took the car else where the same day out of impound and was only charged 72 dollars to fix my car problem at another shop. These people are very crooked!!!
