This last time I called because our kitchen sink was backed up and my hubby was convinced the pipe had collapsed as it was not draining where it typically does in the overflow. Well... come to find out we had a clog on the line for our kitchen sink and washer and they had been draining to a overflow drain. It had been clogged the entire time we lived here! I originally found Midas Plumbing on Yelp, took a shot and hired John for a job. And now have hired him several times for any plumbing need. He is the "go to" man. I think he has picked up the phone every time I've called him in need, and he's here that day or next day to help. His prices are very fair, and he's a good person. He completely redesigned some old piping under my sink today with pipes that had basically disintegrated over time. John came to our house and worked for 2.5 hours to clear a clog that was really stumping him. He ran 130' feet of snake through our sewer pipe and still would not work. He said my clog was making him mad and he would keep attacking it. He never stopped working and eventually went on the roof and put a garden hose down the air vent pipe and voila, clog cleared!! He was telling me all about my plumbing and that I don't need a new sewer pipe that another company said would cost $10k! I would call John again in a heartbeat. This plumber is pretty amazing. He responded to our first phone call. Our water heater was not functioning so we needed someone to come out asap. He was able to fit us in within two hours. He arrived did his diagnosis and gave us a fair price to fix the problem. He was honest and didn't take advantage of our total ignorance of the problem. After reading YELP reviews, contacted Midas plumbing to get an estimate for replacing a pedestal sink and faucet. I got a live person who answered the phone and was easily able to set up an appointment for my preferred date/time and the over the phone estimate was reasonable. On the day of the appointment, Eric arrived right on time, was courteous, knowledgeable and checked out the materials making sure we had everything needed. He made a quick trip to Home Depot to get a missing part and got to work on the job. He worked quickly, efficiently and got everything done without any problems. PLUS, he came in under the estimate and left everything neat and cleaned up. Very pleased with the service and highly recommend Midas for plumbing services. We just moved into a house when we had a problem with the downstairs bathroom. It seemed to be a drain issue. Unfortunately, we relied on the Internet, which led us to Elite Rooter. They sent someone right away, but this technician was apparently trained to scare customers into paying for unnecessary work. The technician did not address the drain out in the back, only one in the front. Then he said that his snake was blocked and that some kind of flap was broken or missing. We were told that there was probably a collapsed pipe. He even called his manager, who gave us an estimate of over $1200 to send a camera in. We are only renting, so we contacted the landlord. Thankfully, we were referred to John. John came in less than an hour and addressed two of our issues for less than half the price we were quoted (for just having a camera sent in). I am not impressed. After getting a quote from John and setting the scheduled appointment for services 2 weeks in advance, John cancels 2 days before the date. He states he does not want to do the job. If that was the case, why didn't he say this on the day of the quote instead of last minute? This is not professional. read more

This guy came out quickly on a Saturday which was great. He needed to fix a leak and a clog. Right after he left, I realized the sink was still clogged. He came out again and tried, very unsuccessfully to fix it........ Right at this moment, I have another plumber at my sink redoing his ENTIRE job. Once this new guy was able to unclog the sink and turn the water back on, he noticed a leak underneath. Midas didn't even fix that properly. What a joke - thanks Midas, not only did I have to pay two plumbers but I haven't been able to do my dishes in 9 days. Awesome. read more

After a co-worker's recommendation, I called Midas Plumbing the other day to get my shower fixed. My co-worker wasn't lying: the service was incredible. Not only were the prices amazing and affordable (my friend's plumbing problems cost a total of $500 with one plumbing company, but Midas Plumbing gave him a deal of around $200), but the staff was great. John came out to take a look, and he was friendly, courteous, and on time. He was at my door in less than forty minutes and was ready to deal with my shower, which he did so very quickly. Their website stresses the 3 Q's (Quick, Quality, and Quiet), which I thought was great, because I always found calling a plumber to be a hassle. Because of their great prices and friendly service, I'm definitely going to be a regular customer. I would highly recommend Midas Plumbing to anyone. I called Midas Plumbing on a Sunday morning to replace my kitchen faucet, and John was available the same afternoon. He was very flexible about his hours. I ended up calling him at 2:45pm and he showed up at 3:05pm at my front door. I was impressed. He quoted me a price on the phone, which was as low as any plumber I called, and he stuck to it even though the old faucet was harder to remove than he had expected. He was done in less than an hour. What else can one ask for in a plumber? I'll be calling him again next time I need one. read more

while doing some home repairs, I accidentally hit a copper pipe in my wall with a nail. As soon as I heard the hiss (of water) coming from the wall, I shut off the the main water line and went to Yelp to find a plumber. I saw Midas Plumbing was 24 hour. I called at 6:00pm and was told he could be there in about an hour. He came around 7pm and was out before 8pm. he work was excellent with very reasonable rates. I hope to not need a plumber for quite sometime, but when I do I know who I will be calling. read more

What can be said about a man with a 5 star average except that he deserves it. John is on time, clean and efficient. If he says it will cost $200, he will charge you $200 even if the costs go over. Every time I have worked with him the service has been over and above what I expect from a plumber and I feel bad paying his low rates. We had pinhole leak in copper pipe embedded in ceiling. We opened up ceiling and found leak location. Called Midas and Eric arrived in less than an hour. He examined problem, made copper pipe repair, and reduced initial estimate because it was very straightforward job. I try to change the faucet for my old bathroom vanity, after 5 hours I still have a leaking issue just under the sink. I give up. Next day I try to find some plumber in the craigslist. I saw Midas can come in 40 mins and do the free estimation. If the price is not reasonable, I will call some other guys. He gives the affordable price and did fix the issue. My own experience with Midas Plumbing was not so golden. Midas was highly rated on NextDoor so I messaged John to obtain an estimate for drain repair. Initially he explained he may not be able to do it due to access was limited but he could refer me to someone else. I then received a call from John requesting pictures of the area. I called and spoke to John and sent them. No response, no follow-up, no referral. I appreciate honesty but don't promise to follow-up to drop off radar. Not a good business practice. read more

I called Midas in the morning about a plumbing problem in the kitchen. He was able to schedule me for an early afternoon visit. He cleared the main line that was backed up, and then explained to us why running the disposal was causing blow-back on the other side of the kitchen sink. It turns out we have a smaller pipe. He was honest about the issue and explained that changing the pipe was not worth the cost. I probably could have save him a trip and our cost, but at least we got the main line cleaned out. I see it as regular maintenance--yes, homes need that too! Overall, I recommend Midas wholeheartedly. read more
