I went in a few weeks ago because my AC wasn't cooling. They wanted to charge me $2,400 to replace the entire AC system which seemed very odd. The guy insisted to stay away from other shops and the dealership because they were going to charge me double the price and less warranty. I got on the phone to check my options decided not to go with their service and immediately the person helping me became angry. They still robbed me $160 just to check if my AC compresor was working. Long story short I went to the dealership and the repair was minor which costed me $300 and a two year warranty that's a $2,100 difference Midas wanted to charge me. Lastly, YOU SUCK! Service times vary, but I think it is just because they are so close to the highway. Prices are fair for a major mechanic shop, but at least you get a warranty on their work! read more

So far so good! I called them around 1:00 dropped my car off for an awful noise. I got a call 30 minutes later from the manager with a full diagnostic and options. No pushy sales and a great negotiation. My car was ready when I got there. Great service with a smile, fast and affordable. Thank you for keeping me safe on the roads guys! Quick work, but every time I went there (5x) to get an oil change, they'd come up with a laundry list of things that were "wrong" with my car. One time the total would run up to $1600. They were really pushy about me getting the stuff done, but I simply didn't have any money at the time to cover it. The funny thing is, I took it in the next time my oil change was due, they didn't notice any of the stuff that needed "immediate attention". So yeah, they do quick work, I never had to wait for more than an hour and a half to do basic maintenance, but overall, they'll try to push a lot of services on you using the "well we already have the car here with the hood open might as well do this and that". I was suspicious when they told me that I needed a radiator flush when the pump was replaced at another shop (in my home town, by people that I can trust) just a month earlier and when they said that they needed to replace the air filter -- when I replaced it less than 10,000 miles earlier -- and was planning to charge me $20 to do it (seriously, the filter cost $8 and took 5 minutes to install). read more

I was there for my AC repair where I was overcharged between $60 to $70 , on another for an oil leak that I was charged $700 only a camp seal wasn't necessary. This was my second visit to this store but this time I chose to drop my car off as opposed to wait because the last time I chose to wait..I was their ONLY customer and ended up spending FOUR hours there. But...I gave them benefit of the doubt and tried again. I dropped my car off at 850am on 6/11 for rear brake pad replacement. The door handle popped when doing so, so I asked if they could fix that as well. The associate advised they could fix it but it would be $130 to look at. I hesitantly said ok and proceeded to leave. At 10:16am I got a call saying I needed rear brake pads and rotors and that they needed to take the door panel off to look at the handle. I questioned if the rotors could be resurfaced since that's what the Knoxville Midas did back in February for the front and the guy said no. That there was less than 2mm left so they needed replacing. Something didn't feel right but I told them go ahead and replace as I knew I needed the brakes. I asked what cost am I looking at all together, he quoted $540. I said ok, you can move forward. He again said he'd call me after they pop the door panel off to see the issue on the handle. At 2pm I hadn't heard back so I called to get an ETA on when they'd be finished. I was told "uhhh we need at least another hour". I was annoyed by this but stated ok and hung up. Two hours later I still hadn't heard anything made my way back to the location without calling. I showed up and my car was in the bay, on the ground, completely together with the hood up. I walked in and the guy states "oh I was just about to call you. The part for your door is $1600." The lobby was full so I tried not to make a scene but you can imagine my sticker shock. I was like "WHAT?!" I told them no way I was paying that and advised them not to proceed. He said okay and said they just needed to put my tires back on, as well as door panel and I'd be good to go. I told him my wheels were on as it's sitting on the ground and everything looked together. He didn't say anything, he just fiddled with the computer then walked outside he came back acting like he was ringing me up then stated he needed to grab my paperwork so he walked back out. When he returned he rang me up...total...$680.00. I questioned this as I told him he had quoted me $540 on the phone. He said he forgot to include the cost to look at the door handle. Last time I checked $130 plus $540 doesn't equate to $680 but I was annoyed and getting more and more irritated so I paid to leave. 20 minutes later...I was driving away. I got 10 minutes down the road and my brake light sensor came back on. I immediately called and the associate stated "oh we reset it with one machine but we have another. Are you close? Can you stop back by?" Again, I'm already annoyed but I needed this done so I responded yes and asked "how long will that take." He replied "oh like 5 mins" I returned 10 mins later and after about 25 more minutes of me waiting I walked in asking what was going on. He proceeded to state that the sensor they placed on my vehicle was faulty and they just needed to replace it: I asked how long that would take. He replied "well I need to see if they have another." WHAT?! At this point I'm highly escalated and asked if he could just refund me for the sensor and I'd deal with this later. He said he could, he just didn't know how. I said nothing and walked out the store. 10 minutes later he comes to tell me it isn't the sensor...my parking brake doesn't work. SINCE WHEN?! Since I asked for a refund for a faulty sensor because I didn't want to waste anymore of my day here?! I told him forget it and asked they pull my car out of the bay so I could leave. I came here because of the special to get your tires rotated plus oil change. Not only did they not rotate my tires, they didn't even put air in them! I had one low tire before I went. When driving off, I realized my liw tire pressure was still on, (it goes away automatically, doesn't need resetting, or time) and drove back.... They said oh it just takes time for the light to go away, just drive a Mile or so! I had already been 3. So I measured them myself. 28-37-35-34. Yet they marked all tires were at 33. Came to this Midas on 3/27 bc I bought a groupon for a full synthetic oil change. I've been to this location before for a tire change and there were no issues so I decided on this location for the oil change. When I arrived I did wait at the counter for about 10 mins while 2 guys at a computer on the opposite side of the glass just stared at me, which is ok since I figured they were wrapping up other customer services. I was eventually assisted by the Manager named Danny who took my information, confirmed my services and took my keys. The actual work that was done was pretty fast considering that it was 5 o'clock and there were about 5 other cars there as well, it took approximately 30 mins, and this location would have gotten at lease 4 stars for this but here's where they messed up or should I say Danny.... Danny took me to my car for my final evaluation of the car, just to show my what's good and what need to be addressed, pretty standard. He stated that everything with the car was fine and bc I had just purchased my vehicle that was how I was expecting. Then he goes on about my brakes, which is a service I know I needed to have done and I expressed that to Danny but I told him I was going to go with a different company for that service and his face drops and you can see he's getting visibly upset. He then moves on to a different issue I did not know about my vehicle, there is a small oil leak. This being new to me said "thank you for bringing this to my attention, my vehicle is still under warranty so I will bring it to my dealership to have it addressed." Danny at this time becomes defensive to a point where he abruptly ends the evaluation of my vehicle and tells me my vehicle will be right out. And even though he has a smile on his face he was talking through he teeth which gave me the impression that he was angry and his tone was extremely sarcastic. Like I can understand if he wanted a sale but if a customer tells you they already have a plan or if they already told you that they don't want your additional services, there is no reason to start acting hostile. Danny even made someone else bring me my keys and as I'm walking to my car I look back to see him from the car area just glaring at me...if it wasn't for the experience I had with this specific person, who also happens to be the MANAGER, my review would be much more positive but unfortunately bc of Danny's actions I was left feeling as if I'm not welcome at this location so I won't be returning. I've learned my lesson from buying groupons... Oh and it stated that with all full synthetic oil changes I was suppose to have my tires rotated and they weren't. This is the second time I have taken my vehicle to this location to have the oil changed. The first visit was very good! The gentleman that assisted me was knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. A thorough courtesy check was conducted on my vehicle during this first visit as well as text/email updates as to when my vehicle would be ready for pickup. The second visit I made, some months later for another oil change however was the complete opposite. I was leery to even go back after reading many poor Yelp reviews about service and quality of work. I also found it very interesting how most of the poor reviews named the manager Daniel specifically. And these poor reviews of Daniel spanned over a two year period. Not really dwelling on those reviews, I decided to give them my business again mostly because the shop is within walking distance of my office. So I can drop my vehicle off then walk back to work and vice versa to pick it up. When I walked in around 8:30am a man by the name of Sean greeted me and said they would be right with me. I acknowledged and waited patiently as Sean was assisting another customer. As the wait began to lengthen, another employee walked up to the desk and sat in front of an empty computer and pulled out his cell phone . Sean leaned to him and said, "Daniel would you mind checking him in?" (referring to me). Daniel, without looking up from his phone or the computer for that matter, mumbled "yeah, I'll be with you in a minute." I acknowledged and began waiting. During this wait I turned my back to Daniel briefly to look at the news on the TV in the waiting area, and when I turned back, Daniel was gone. I quickly realized that this must have been the Daniel I read so much about in the reviews. With a puzzled look on my face, I looked at Sean and he was clearly frustrated in Daniel's actions, shook his head in disappointment and apologized to me then proceeded to get me checked in. Clearly the Yelp reviews on Daniel were spot on. What I want to know is how has he managed to get so many poor reviews yet is still the manager? Furthermore, on my invoice it clearly states in two separate lines that the recommended oil for my vehicle is 5W-40. And what I actually received (also noted on my invoice) was 5W-30. They also didn't put the dipstick all the way back in, or reset my change oil indicator on the dash, or put a new sticker on the windshield denoting date of future service recommended. I question if they really even changed the oil. Im filling out the customer feedback survey today in the hopes that something changes. I have to trust these people to perform quality maintenance on my vehicle which I use every day to drive over an hour to work one way, and after this visit I think I'm taking my business elsewhere. 2 out of 5 stars for this place, yikes something needs to change. read more

First of all, I just want to start off by saying how horrible the customer service is here. I came in here because my AC stopped working out of nowhere in this Texas heat. I asked questions because I wanted to know how much things were going to cost. The employee that was helping me gave me snarky answers and was just straight up rude. I dropped my car off during my work break then went to work. They called me telling my Freon was low and that it was going to cost me $165 for a recharge. I asked them if there was anything else I could do to cut the cost and they were like no it's probably going to cost you that anywhere you go. That sounded strange to me so I called my dad for advice. He immediately told me they were over charging and that I could get it done for less than $100. I went to the Autozone around the corner and long story short, the problem was fixed in less than 5 minutes. I did it myself with the help of one of the female employees. So in conclusion, I don't recommend this place, not only because they didn't tell/show me how to fix it myself but for the fact that they were rude and were just trying to take advantage of the fact that I was a woman without any knowledge of cars. RICK is the best mechanic working there. Always going above and beyond. Been going there for years. Always double checks with the customer to okay work. He's super friendly & knows what he's doing. The team there are all always helpful. Don't know about the bad feedback. people expect magic when they don't treat their cars right. I went in for an oil change and at the end they told me I had an oil leak and that my oil valve gasket needed to be replaced, and I told them to go ahead with it. About 10 minutes later I changed my mind and said that I wanted to wait and get a second opinion and a man at the front desk, Gil, said they they had already started and it couldn't be taken off. So I talked to one of the mechanics and they said that they hadn't started and they could take it off. The guy in the front straight up lied. I took it to another shop and they said it didn't look like an oil leak, only my oil cap needed replaced, they did a dye test and told me to come back a later date. On 03/12/21 I went back to have the dye the mechanics had put into my oil to check to make sure there was no leaks rechecked, and there was no leak. I waited almost two hours for a brake check even though they pulled my car immediately into a bay when I arrived and said they'd check it right away. At the end, they told me I needed all my brake pads and rotors replaced. When I told them I just wanted a quote and needed to go, they told me they were a road hazard and that I shouldn't go. I went directly to another place, which told me that I had 8 mm left on my front pads and front rotors looked just fine, so I just needed to replace the back ones. $600 saved dollars later... After my first visit, I will be getting an oil change and any other car services done here. The service was spectacular. The person at the front desk, Luis, was friendly and helpful. He answered all my questions and was not obnoxious like others can be. Sometimes individuals forget that although they know this stuff others don't. It's important to remember that. There was a customer who got upset because of the waiting time and Luis handled the situation wonderfully. Rick came to talk to me about my car after the oil change. He genuinely cares and will try to help any way he can. He is also very informative and explain things thoroughly. I was so surprised by the customer service. After using Midas for years the experience here left such a sour taste that I'm regretting that decision and will probably go elswhere going forward. The pricing was unclear and we were left having to pay a much larger sum than intended as they did not include the diagnostic and labor in the initial estimate. Even their time assessment was wrong as they ordered incorrect parts. This led the stay to be 3-4 hours instead of 1-1:30. Overall a complete waste of time and money. read more

Which is cool, i get that wasn't their fault. But they charged me the money anyway when all their "mechanic" did was smoke a cigarette next to the hood of my car and hook up some wires to tell me nothing and in turn made me late for work because when i asked for my car back they said "just 15 more minutes" and still nothing. First time I came in to use the card they told me I was next and I proceeded to wait an hour and the car hadn't been touched. There is nothing speedy about this place. I let the guy at the desk know I was short on time and needed an oil change done quickly. He assured me it would be really quick. I waited for 15 minutes as other customers came in to the waiting room and my car still wasn't being worked on. They didn't even move it into a bay it just sat out front. After 30 minutes, I asked for my keys and came to brake Check down the street. They got it done in 15 min like a boss. Don't bother with Midas, the techs were just walking around the bays drinking sodas. No one is interested in working, customers aren't the focus. The guy working behind the desk was nice enough, I just won't give them my business because they don't respect my time. The banner on the outside of the store proclaims--Oil Change $19.95. Beware, beware! The store manager, Daniel, is an expert an jacking up your bill. My oil change has cost me $450 so far. And it would have been several hundred dollars more, if I had taken Daniel's advice the second time, after my engine was opened up. No way, pal! I don't like the way you do business. This is a rip-off operation bordering on criminal activity. They also do sloppy work. After being told "you're good to go," I left the store and drove home. A few minutes later, when I was going out to do errands, I started up and the Check Engine light came on. So I took my truck back to Midas the next day, Saturday. When I took the truck back, I pointed out that both my front fenders had been left with very dirty hand prints on them, and this was not the sign of professional quality workmanship. I also pointed out the "Check Engine" light was on, indicating that they probably hadn't put the engine back together properly. At this point I was not a happy camper. But after a few minutes, I was once again assured, "You're good to go." I went. Then, the next day, Sunday, when I started up, the "Check Engine" light was back on. By now I was pretty sure that this outfit was incompetent. I didn't trust them at all. So first thing Monday I took my truck to my mechanic, to find out if the "Check Engine" light was coming on because of a real problem or not. He looked things over and determined that a vacuum hose had not been re-attached. This negligence on the part of the Midas technician and the poor quality control practices of the manager cost me $96.00. When I took the bill from my mechanic back to Midas and asked them to refund me $96 I had to pay to correct their shabby work, Daniel, the manager was not helpful in the least. He informed me that I should have brought the truck back to him again instead of taking it somewhere else. I told him I didn't trust him. Why should I? Daniel gave me the general manager's phone number, but said it was unlikely that he would do anything for me. Stay away from this place! It stinks. read more

Just needed to get my tires filled with air as my rental car gave me the warning that one of my tires was running low. I stopped at a near by gas station with an air pump but their machine was out so I came to Midas. They assisted me right away and were kind about it. Since they don't charge for air, I had to give the nice mechanic a tip. read more

They have a 20 oil change deal which is misleading. It's for only certain cars that take the oil for that car. You no longer get to choose the oil you want. New policy will make them lose business. I came here for the deal. I can pay 30 elsewhere and get it done in less than 15 minutes. Waiting hours for an oil change is no longer worth it unless its cheaper than the other guys. read more
