My husband has visited this store a couple times and they have been great. It's usually an emergency situation and we're expecting a huge bill but instead it's been a simple fix and God Bless them they have done the work and have not charged us anything. I had a car left at this location and it got broken into. And someone stole my Catalytic converter while it was on their property and they didn't anything to make me feel okay. Also the main manager or one of them does drugs why is his pinky nail so long and his other nails are normal. This is the absolute worst place to get anything done. I take my truck to this Midas for an oil change and to check my engine light at 12 o'clock. 4 hours go by and I don't hear anything from them. I call them and the guy tells me they're barely bringing my car in now. I call again at 5:30 because they close at 6 and I need my car back. They still haven't even touched it. I roll up at 5:50 the guy who took my car left and everyone else has no idea what to do with it and the guy that is there tells me "I think they did an oil change". They didn't do an oil change or check my engine light. And charges me $20 they didn't do shit to my truck this place is trash don't bring your vehicle here. read more

I used to go to this location often for years. Great service. Where did Anthony and Christian go? I'll never go back. They quoted me over $800 to change my brakes after a failed inspection. I took to another mechanic who said my brakes were fine. He tightened the e-brake and now I can pass inspection. I almost paid for services I didn't need. That's a huge amount. You just lost a long time customer Midas. I neglected to mention they also failed to replace all my lug nuts. I have locking ones and have to purchase a full set, cannot but singles. They're expensive. Sad thing is they likely won't even care. After years and thousands of dollars spent there you lost a customer. read more

Got an oil change the other day with my SUV. After waiting TWO HOURS for a job they said would take 30 mins, they tell me my brakes are bad and I'll need about $400 in repair costs to get them fixed. Strange, I just had them checked when I put new tires on the week before! I went back to my tire place for a second opinion...BRAKES ARE FINE!!!! My wife went in for an oil change the other day because she was in a hurry and they were open. They told her 30 minutes. TWO HOURS later they present her with a bill $14 more than quoted AND a laundry list of problems! They tell her her front end is shot and needs over $600 in repair! If I could give 0 stars I would. The manager Mario has been dishonest with my husband and I, and he is not upholding his end of the contract. Our Chevy Tahoe has been in his shop for over 3 weeks to have the engine replaced with a remanufactured engine. We signed the contract, paid, and was told it would be about 7 days. 7 days later, they said they were working on it but it would be ready on a specific date. 2 weeks later they said the new engine was in the car, so my husband went by to take a look and find out what the hold up was. When he got there the manager working that day said they had a used engine waiting to be put in, but they weren't putting it in yet because it had a huge bolt stuck in it, and they needed a special tool to get it out. Used? My husband said , can I look at it? And he said of course. Upon inspection it was found that this engine was in bad shape, obviously used- which the manager working that day confirmed. When my husband called Mario- the GM- he said no it was no used, it was exactly what we said, etc. We even took pictures to another shop where they confirmed there was no way it remanufactured - and that is was indeed used. Mario swears up and down it was remanufactured, but he said it had old connections on it- and he's not sure why. Just sad that he won't admit that he was overcharging us and putting on an old motor in our car, charging us more. Now he said he will "make things right" but getting us a remanufactured motor, but we're going to have to pay almost $2000 more, and now he won't warranty it, and has stated he's putting our old motor parts back on it. I'm absolutely at a loss as to what to do. We emailed a higher "manager" and Mario just called us back and said stop trying to reach out to anyone, I'm the only person you can talk to- no one else can help you. This is ridiculous, I want what we signed for- and I will not pay more. I want to be reimbursed for coming on my 4th week in a rental car- at over $300 a week. This is outrageous that I can't get anyone higher to call us and help us and make this right. We just want what was promised, timely, and now to be compensated for this as stated above. I hope and pray someone calls us back to make this right- we are still without a car. read more

I brought my car in and instead of me leaving with thinking I was going to have to schedule 8 hours of labor to fix the problem, the mechanic didn't give up and found the simple solution. First time here. Treated fairly and honestly. Service was quick. Not willing to commit yet, but I will give them another try. Second visit. Attempted to overcharge. Wanted to charge me $70 labor for changing a light socket for headlight. After raising a stink, they reduced the charge to $25. They attempt to fast talk. If you're not aware of parts and prices, don't go here. You will be ripped off. My cost at auto parts store $11 for socket $24 for bulb. Original estimate from Midas $100. Got it down to $88. Didn't have much choice to have it done or I would have been stuck with a $117 diagnostic fee. 3rd time-I guess I'm an idiot. I came back for more terrible service. I attempted to submit a complaint online only for it to be returned "undeliverable ". In case you need it, their customer service number (it's hard to find) it's 1-800-621-8545. They broke the windshield washer sprayer and didn't tell me (I had asked them to look at it because it was clogged). I checked it before leaving and it sprayed straight in the air. Does corporate teach them to always try and sell you service you don't need? Is it the greedy franchisee? I don't know. But they would have more customers if they were fair about their prices and needed services. They might even get more than one star. ALWAYS get a written estimate. They will give you one initially, but when they come back for additional services, ask then for a written estimate. They are required to give one. read more

Let me say I will never come here again. Let me start by saying I went in for a oil change, a fluid flush and tire balancing. As I pulled out of the parking lot after paying my rear tire FELL OFF cause they only put two lug nuts and they didn't even tighten them. Wanted to speak to the manager he hid the the restroom for thirty minutes. The head mechanic tech came out to talk to me couldn't do anything for me cause he wasn't a manager. I recieved a called from Joel the shop manager and no it was not to inform me that I needed even more work or that something else was wrong but instead he informed me that there was nothing wrong with my brakes?!! It apears I was being taken for a ride but Joel and Midas came to the rescue. He protected my hard earned cash and more importantly my faith in humanity and service companies. Its my first time ever coming here and JOHN was very rude to not only myself but the woman in front of me. He lacks communication and customer service skills. Dont ask a question without expecting attitude, I understand its busy but when my job is busy I still have basic customer service. He was really aggressive when I asked for my keys back and told me to wait minutes for me to get them,expressed sarcasm and then I told him calmly that I wasnt demanding my keys instantly that i was just asking and he started saying I was mad when I wasnt but he blatantly was. The woman in front of me was asking questions she was foreign so there was a language barrier and she was confused. He refused to explain twice and kept being rude to her as well. I don't recommend this place they tried charging me $30 for the blend oil with a two hour wait so im going down the street for the less pay and a 10 minute oil change at express oil change where theyre never rude to me. Vehicle in worse condition than when I brought it in. I brought my truck in to see how much wear had accumulated since I brought my travel trailer. After performing their free brake inspection, the guy recommends replacing my brake pads and resurfacing my rotors even though the pads are 50%. I'm thinking I want to leave, so sales guy brings me out to look at my truck. It looks fine but the mechanic says it "could" be worse. Then he gives me a discount on the $500 worth of work they want to do, when I should be leaving. I submit. I'm in there moping about spending $450 on unnecessary work, listening to other people get upsold. You get a tire replaced? You need 4 since they should be replaced at the same time. You want an oil change? Why not synthetic? Its only $80! All legitimate repairs but not necessary. After my truck is done, I'm driving home. I hear clicking coming from the rear wheels. Yeah, brakes. The big question is, do I take it back to this store or another? Why take it back to the same place where their mission is only to sell you more repairs? read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The guys here are arrogant smart-asses - and dishonest too... Here are some examples: 1) I called and asked what the "free a/c check" consists of. The smart ass replies "uhhhh... We check your a/c... For free". No ish Sherlock. I'm asking what it consists of. Do you check the compressor, test for freon, top off freon, release if overcharge... What DO you do for the a/c check. Smart ass. 2) After a over an hour wait (the wait was not a problem) I ask "Hey man... Just curious how my car is looking?" His smart-ass reply: "it looks fine. It's a mighty nice car". My reply: "ok thanks... Do you have a status? His reply: "oh you want a status? Which car is yours?". Another sarcastic person. 3) They tell me my a/c is low ok freon and want to evacuate and recharge for $169 and put dye to see if they can find the leak - no thank you. 3b) I come back to get the car and ask how much freon is missing... They say "it's actually overcharged". So... Why are you interested in finding a leak, if it's overcharged and not missing any freon? This is not the first bad experience I've had with THIS specific Midas. But for whatever reason I go back 7 months later and expect different results. I guess I'm insane. read more

I got in and out within 45 minutes when they told me 45-hour wait. Service was done right and gave me an honest opinion about my car. I gave them 4 stars because of the way the employees and manager interacted. He spoke very down on them and a lot of the time some of the workers were sitting around. I also heard the manager say to another guy "see if you can sell this to them" I understand your in the business of making money and upselling but it sounded like she really didn't need it but make it sound like she did. My car was brand new so it didn't need anything. One major thing I saw was a big NO was a tech was smoking in the bays covered in grease and oil. Took my s2000 to get a basic oil change, had bought all the parts and oil but didn't have the tools to take the bolt off.... They did the servicing, after taking it there I went to Honda and they told that Midas had used the wrong bolt on drain plug, they used a Chevy bolt... Not taking car there ever again. read more

***Don't take your vehicle here go somewhere else*** I really regret buying the lifetime alignment from this store! I waited 2 hours for something they told me would only take 30 minutes. Three or four customers came in after me and their vehicles started to get service before mine even entered the bay. When I asked Christian for my keys because I was tired of wait because I was quoted the wrong time estimate. He basically said ok your keys are in the car and have a nice day. No apology, no acknowledgement of my time or anything. It was as though they already had my money and since they were not making any money off of me they didn't care. I went in and their receptionist was so happy and helpful, gave me a rough estimate quote. I came back and realized her estimate was a lot more than expected. Asked to talk to the manager I think his name was "mario" I told him I didn't expect to pay more than estimated and he instantly told me maybe I'm to broke to afford fixing my car then. When I called my dad to ask an opinion he basically belittled him, I apologized for asking for a second opinion... even though I shouldn't. He told me after pulling the codes from my car it said random misfiring and I went to multiple places after and it said cylinder 6 misfire, MULTIPLE TIMES WITH MULTIPLE MACHINES. he tried convincing me I needed everything changed which was $80 per part and I just felt so uncomfortable and so mistreated. In the end I just felt disrespected by the manager, everyone else was AMAZING!!! "Mario" sucks and I will tell everyone from here on out. read more

I walked in asking for just a basic oil change and was met with a sarcastic response from the individual working at the front desk. His response was "well what do u want with basic, you want us to use water?" After he quotes me $93.65 for an oil change I responded by asking if there was a cheaper option and his response was "thank you sir" and immediately took the quote crumbled it up and threw it away. Avoid this place at all costs! I took my vehicle here to get tires balanced and rotated. The job was done decent enough. When leaving the business I heard a weird creaking noise coming from my front end. Initially I thought it was just the suspension settling because it had just been lifted and the sound would go away. I took my vehicle on the freeway to ensure that the shaking in my steering wheel had gone away from the balancing. When driving around more the creaking continued and began to get louder. I took it back to get it looked at to see if maybe something just was out of wack that they could fix. After about 2 hours of them looking at my car they came to the conclusion that my master brake cylinder needed to be replaced and that's what was causing the issue. Keep in mind that my vehicle has 18k miles on it so its very unlikely that's the issue. After the manager calls around to get quotes for parts they come back saying that its going to cost me $1,800 for parts and labor but they could give me a deal of around $1,600. This would be the solution to my problem. I waited a day and wanted to get a second opinion so I took my vehicle to another shop because something just didn't seem right. After about 30 mins of the new mechanic looking at it he notices that two brackets underneath my car had been bent pretty badly from someone improperly lifting my car up on a lift. He took the bracket off and noticed that there was a cracked mount underneath the bracket as well. This was the cause of the noise, the bent bracket was rubbing against other parts underneath the vehicle. The new shop was able to find the problem and correct it in less than an hour. All and all the reason my vehicle was making noises was from improper use of a lift from Midas. Additionally there was nothing wrong with my master brake cylinder. read more

He surely is there and does everything possible to irritate your customers, TOO LOUD, TOO ARROGANT & A RACIST BY ALL MEANS (will like to discuss in detail with higher authorities about kind of foully language he used during his conversation with me, also the way he treated me and the other lady customer while I was waiting there). Going by all reviews below, Surely, he doesn't deserve to be at such a classy car service store. I've been to other MIDAS & GOODYEAR locations before. BY FAR, this was the worst ever experience I had. If I see him next time at front desk, I'll be highly disappointed. On contrary, the other young front desk guy (forgot his name), he was very humble, down to earth, highly customer service oriented and helped me to calm the whole situation down. We have been taking our vehicles to them for almost the past two years now and it feels like family there! They are family run business and always go above and beyond to take care of us, currently my husband is deployed, and I pulled in with my 5 year old daughter cause my transmission started going out just across the street. T.J. and the owner took care of everything for me, even arranged to get me a car rental pick up, I can't even express how grateful I am for their help today! They made a very stressful day a lot easier to deal with and I'm super thankful to have them just down the street when I need them! We've had previous work done on my husband's car, oil changes, tires, battery replacements, an engine replacement, and every time they have helped keep the costs low and giving us great customer service! Skip this place. They don't seem to know what they are doing. I took my car in to Midas on Culebra for a check engine light repair. I figured it was the catalytic converter and/or oxygen sensor and was told it was both. They fixed it but the car ran rough and a couple of days later the check engine light is back on. So I go back and they keep the car a couple of days while they try and figure it out. 3 days later I get it back and they have no clue but reset the check engine light so now it is off. Guess what, a day later the engine light is back on. Take it back and they decide it was a bad catalytic converter or oxygen sensor and have to replace both. Couple more days in the shop and then I get the call. There is suddenly a computer reset that has to be done to the car when you change the catalytic converter. An extra $250 dollars. Get the car back and it still runs rough. They said the computer has to learn how I am driving so that was normal...WHAT. Just waiting for the check engine light to come on again. Couple of points. 1. Midas' reputation is on mufflers and exhaust. You would figure they would know what goes into replacing the catalytic converter to include a computer reset. 2. I should not have been charged for the reset. It was their mistake and the additional repairs have cost me time and inconvenience to fix their oversight and error. 3. Car still runs rougher than before Midas. While it is under warranty, I certainly won't go back to this Midas. I am hoping there is a more reputable shop somewhere in town. Yeah, I am ticked to trust the Midas touch. I got burned and I don't think they care. If this helps you decide to go somewhere else, then it will serve its purpose. Good luck. read more

I had bad experience with them. My car overheated, then I took it to them to look for the problem. They said I need to change many parts which will cost me $1000. I really got shocked. It's really expensive. I knew the problem was due to cut in the upper hose, so I refused, and took my car towards Auto parts shop. I bought the upper hose and coolant water and I fixed it my self. New location. Paid around 600 for new tires which turned into multiple visits to fix the tire sensor. The first visit was the tire change. Everything went fine until driving the vehicle for two hours. The low pressure tire light started to flash. I called midas and the manager explained that the vehicle sensor was just trying to get used to the new tires. Sounded reasonable, the manager told me to give it three days and come back if the light was still on. So i gave it three days and the low tire pressure continued to stay on. Attempt two: I returned to the shop and the mechanic spent an hour trying to put air in the tires and drove the car around three times to see if the sensor went off. And no, the sensor was still on after wasting my gas. The manager then tried to make a joke out of the situation and stated that I should lighten up, I don't take an investment lightly. I just wanted the car tires to be fixed. He stated that i would need to return to change out the sensor. Attempt three: sensor changed out two hours later after the manager said it would take one hour. No one has unlimited time to sit at an auto shop. Definitely regretting coming here. Manager is condescending and continues to make excuses when questions are asked. Getting new tires turned into continuous visits and a waste of time. I don't recommend going here for tires. Spend your money and time elsewhere that can get the job done the first time. read more

The crooks at Midas attempted to pull a fast one on a novice car person by recommending feedback for said repairs. While the repairs were neccessary the prices they had were highway robbery as I recieved the same service at a competitor for $1200 less, with lifetime warranties. I also gave them the price estimate ya'll quoted me and they apologized on behalf of the auto industry. They also sent it to their corporate office. I've given this shop 3 chances but I'm done. Christian has been rude each time I've brought vehicles in for service/maintenance. If never heard him speak kindly to customers. Last time he tried charging me $10 over what was quoted for an oil change. He said it was for the extra 1/2 quart of oil my vehicle requires. Ummm, I'm not dumb enough to think 1/2 quart of standard 5w30 costs that much and especially not in bulk. Today I called before arriving for an oil change and he said come on over and he would get me right in. When I got there 20 minutes later he said I could be out the door in an hour. 40 minutes later I asked about the wait because my car wasn't even in the bay and he said it would be an hour. I explained that was the time he gave me 40 minutes ago. I was upset that he wasted my time and I left. I've since read lots of reviews on our neighborhood page about bad service at this location. read more

Dropped my car off for a diagnostic on why my blinkers weren't working and hopefully repaired. Left it there over 5 hours. Got a call to tell me it was done. I asked on the phone if it was repaired and was unable to verify. When I arrived I was told someone had dropped the ball and not called to tell me the problem or the estimated repair time/cost. So I got an explanation that they can fix it, but I'd have to bring it in again. Apparently the first five hour block of time was not enough for them to repair it, as that is what they do. Person at the desk was very flippant, truly didn't seem to care one bit. I see no reason to ever use them again, very poor customer service. read more

On two separate occasions, 4/1/2019 & 10/23/2019 my vehicle was serviced at the Midas 11227 Culebra Rd in San Antonio, Texas location for an oil change. On 02/11/2019 I took my vehicle to the GMC West Auto Dealership where a certified auto technician disclosed that my oil filter was never changed, which has resulted in catastrophic engine damage. I have significant evidence that supports my claim that my engine has been ruined due to the unprofessional and inadequate service done to my vehicle by the Midas store employees as well as misrepresentations made to me by your Midas store employees that I had been provided a new oil and oil filter change on both service dates. I have attempted contact via a certified letter the Store Manager, Nick Gannon and GM, Chris Gannon. However, I have not received any feedback to include an acknowledge of my letters to Nick or Chris Gannon. I am deeply disappointed by the service and treatment by Midas and its staff. The lack of response has forced me to report my issue to my local Better Business Bureau for further assistance. I expect to hear from a Midas representative with settlement authority immediately. read more

Done a lot of repairs and maintenance here on an older truck (2005). I had been very satisfied until a recent visit when a mechanic recommended some questionable and unnecessary repairs (remove and replace an oil gasket for $1362.65 for a job averaging $300-500, which included $600 part for an oil pan that does not need to be replaced). As an aside there have also been a ton of complaints on Nextdoor from the Alamo Ranch community. read more
