I was able to get two car inspections within a few days with minimal issues on my Suburu and expected muffler/exhaust repairs on my Ford..everywhere else in town had a one week or longer wait time,this was an issue when both cars had expired inspection stickers...oops ha! but Matt got on it right away and was a pleasure to work with. We've been taking our cars to this Midas shop for some time now, and I am always impressed by the excellent job these guys do. They clearly take pride in their work and go out of their way to see that their customers are satisfied. I recently suffered the stress of learning that a used vehicle purchased for my teenage son had major problems the prior owner concealed. Kevin and Matt worked tirelessly to resolve the issues. STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN!!!!! Unfortunately I can't give 0 starts, the site won't let me. Here's why, they were running one of their $25 oil change specials so I decided to take them up on the offer. I normally change my own oil, but I was busy at the time and figured this was convenient. My car takes synthetic oil only, so I knew it would be more than the $25 dollars, I figured an extra 20 or 30 bucks at most. I told the guy at the front desk when I got there this and he said there would be a small up charge. Great. So I made the appointment, the oil change took an hour and a half and than guess what? I'm told that it's going to cost me $130 for my oil change. I know what oil costs and I also know what your typical garage markup is as well, my 20-30 more estimate was in the ball park of what it should have been. Alright, that's fine, it's my own fault for being tricked by his vague language. My error in judgement. Fast forward down the road a little ways (time wise) my oil light pops on. "That's weird I just had my oil changed a little while ago". So I check my oil level, it's almost bone dry and my engine is starting to knock. I'm pretty concerned that I might have cracked my oil pan or have a leak somewhere, I can't see oil spots in my driveway cause it dirt. So I decide I'll change the oil and try to isolate where it's getting out. I open up the oil filter compartment and my oil filter is disintegrated, cheap cardboard. And there is no gasket on the cap where there should be. I instantly realize there isn't a crack or leak, it was gross negligence on MIdas' part. So I realize my oil has been leaking out because those "mechanics" never put the gasket on. And the oil filter they used was the cheapest cardboard filter they could've gotten their hands on. This is what a $130 dollar oil change gets you. It's not over though. Next I go under the car to unscrew the drain plug and it's unmovable. They over torqued it so much I had to use my friends lift and a 4ft breaker bar to get the thing off. This kind of thing is what can make an oil pan crack and ruined. Luckily it wasn't. When I finally get the plug out I see.......THEY NEVER PUT THE GASKET ON THIS EITHER!!!!! Another source of oil leakage. Changing oil is the first thing that everyone learns to do when working on cars, this is inexcusable. This could have ruined my engine and cost thousands of dollars to fix. Luckily I caught it in time. How could any person calling themselves a mechanic forget these basic simple and widely known procedures, you always put the gaskets on. The only reason I can think is that they did it on purpose. There is no way someone who does this for a living forgets both gaskets, no way. So I guess they were trying to ruin my engine so they could drum up some more business for themselves. I'm going down there to rip them a new one tomorrow. And than I'm calling corporate and than I'm calling the better business bureau. This is criminal what they did. read more

I trusted them as a URI student to just do simple oil changes. Which they have done in the past. The last time I went there in May 2016, they told me my car needed over $400 in repairs that were not need at all. On top of that I have now found out they over filled my oil when changing it causing me now over $1,000 in damage to my car. If you get a service guy named Ryan request a new person to look at it because he is a shinning example of why people have trust issues with mechanics. read more

This is by far the worst auto repair shop you can go to. They told me I needed new rear brakes so I brought it to a family friend who looked at it. The brakes were fine! They wanted to charge me close to $400 for it. Against my better judgement I made an appointment for an oil change. I get there to find out they took 5 walk ins ahead of me. What's the purpose of an appointment then? This place is awful. There are numerous mom and pop shops in the Wakefield area that will gladly accept and appreciate your business rather than these con artists. read more

These guys are hacks. They completed an oil change on my car, the next day as I was driving the oil light suddenly came on and my engine siezed up! Checked to see what could have been wrong, THERE WAS NO OIL FILTER!!!!!!! and the engine was completely void of oil. The engine was a total loss. They did agree to put a new engine in, obviously free of charge. I requested to have a Toyota shop look at it after the work was complete, for obvious hesitance since they can't even handle an oil change let alone a full engine swap. The mechanic who was there when I went to check the work and test drive it was an arrogant jerk and made it seem like a huge problem and that anyone at Toyota doesn't know as much as him. I told him and doctors who go to school and are trained more then anyone in this world, ask for third opinions, or at least aren't so full of themselves to take it as a personal attack to have a third opinion. Needless to say I will never go there again and recommend no one else ever bring a car there, unless they want to take the chance of it never being the same! read more

If I could give this business no stars, I would. I received a 5 day fix it ticket for state inspection. I brought it to Midas because no other shop could fit me into that time frame. Now I am very aware why that is. Firstly, I was told I needed $1,300 worth of repairs to make my car pass, which is ridiculous. But I paid it, and I also paid for my state inspection. My car failed. I was told to drive it 100 miles to clear the meter, and bring it back. So I did. I brought my car back 2 days later, past the 5 day time frame, and I was told I couldn't have it inspected because the technician "is no longer with the business. It just happened today." They said they could take an appointment. For what? You fired the technician. So now I can't have it done, and theres no option to have it done in the future, but I already paid for it. He told me to drive to Warwick. As I'm sitting in my car, he comes out and tells me they've given their ex employee "temporary clearance" to work on my car because he is technically employed until the end of business hours. Fine. My car failed. I was told to put another 200 miles on it before it would pass. That's when I left. The next day, I took my car elsewhere and guess what? It passed in 5 minutes with a grand total of 7 extra miles on the car. So not only do they over charge, they also are grossly incompetent. Adding insult to injury, the technician who passed my car looked over their service records and told me it was sad that companies like them take such advantage of people. Then I had to go to the police station to beg them to void the ticket because I did everything I could to comply with the ticket. Tomorrow, I will be going back to Midas to demand my money back for the inspection I'll never get and wouldn't pass anyway. That will be the last time I set foot in that business. read more
