I've visited this Midas location twice in the past 6 months. Once, for an issue. And a second time, for a concern. Both times I received great service. Everyone is professional and are working quickly to get work done. The manager David Zapata is so professional and friendly, and takes the time to explain to me what the issue is. On my first visit, it was determined that I needed a sensor replaced. He couldn't be 100% certain. But, based on the codes he received from my vehicle's computer, he was pretty confident. He sensed that I was a bit uneasy with or unsure of the information he was providing me. He actually suggested I have an oil change first just to rule that out as a possible issue related to the sensors, which I did. When I returned, what he did to reassure me was replace the sensor, and allow me to drive my vehicle with the replaced sensor for some days. He told me if everything is running smoothly, to bring it back and pay for the part. I believe I left the shop on a Friday, and returned Tuesday to pay for the part. Everything ran smoothly, and I haven't had a problem since. He was so nice to do that, and I appreciated it very much. So the next time I had a concern about my engine light coming on, (which turned out not to be anything serious)after an oil change, I could've dropped by any shop, as I'm still fairly new to the state, but I came back here. I am a young female coming in to get a quick tire patch. This is the first time something like this has happened to me so I wasn't sure what to expect. When I asked how long it would be, the manager replied with. "Don't you see all these other people waiting" in the rudest tone so I asked he didn't respond to me that way and he could've simply just told me how long. I had my car in here recently for an oil change and they told me they would check the brakes and tires as well. I mentioned that I thought the brakes were starting to feel like they were low. At the end of service the guy tells me that the brakes are fine but the tires are getting low, but could go a few more months without replacement. I take my car to the dealership today for something completely unrelated covered under the warranty. The service guy at the dealership tells me my brakes are almost completely GONE. I said I just had them checked recently and he said there is no way someone checked those brakes because the back ones were nearly completely gone and the fronts were just slightly better, but all needed to be replaced. I do not appreciate being lied to at all. IF you really do not check brakes, do not tell a customer that you did. I do not need to be driving down the road and not be able to stop my car. I now wonder if they even changed the oil in my car or if they just let it sit back there for an hour. I am seriously concerned and I will be calling the shop to tell them about this experience. I find this to be unacceptable for ANY business, but especially when brakes are involved and serious accidents can occur as a result of someone lying to a customer. read more

Last week I had a blow out on the 5 Freeway. I drove with a spare to Midas where I asked for oil, rear brakes and the tire to be done. This was 1pm and I was informed the vehicle would be done by 6pm. At 4:30pm I called in to get an update as a hadn't received any cost on the tire and brakes(if rotors were bad). They said the were pulling the vehicle in and would give me a call in a few minutes. 6:30pm roles around and still no call back. They close at 6pm, so I call again. Turns out they were behind and never pulled it in and weren't going to have the car done until following day at 1pm. I live in San Diego. I had to give my wife a call to come pick me up on a Friday evening after sitting around for 6 hours waiting. Then return the next day to get my car. The experience was subpar. If I was informed of the true time expected. I could have taken it somewhere else and saved a whole day. read more

Cost a lot, $140 just for change a front light bulb, which Amazon sold only in $10-$40. They told me they are factory bulb, that's why they cost that much. Besides, they don't give the receipt. While visiting in the Tustin area, the trunk of my car malfunctioned and suddenly wouldn't stay closed. Called multiple service places but they were closing or mechanic who worked on latches had left. Thankfully I found myself near this Midas location. They were extremely helpful & courteous. Though it ended up being a problem with the overall electronic mechanism that would need specialized attention they were at least able to fix it where it wouldn't pop open again for my drive home. And a special blessing was that they didn't charge which was truly an act of kindness for which I'm extremely thankful. If I lived in the Tustin/Irvine area, this is definitely where I would have my car serviced. read more

They're reliable and you can get most of the work done in a day. However, they seem to recommend services a little overly. Not as much as another oil change chain, though. Once they recommended tire replacement because they were 'dangerously' worn out. Since I got the tires from another place and I still had a warranty, I declined and went back to them. They assured me my tires still had at least 5000 miles left. And when I went back after 5k mi, they told me I would need a new set after another 5k mi. I don't understand how tires that have 10k left are dangerously worn out. Even if they were very conservative. So, as long as I don't get work done for everything they recommend me, I'm happy with their services. read more

My family has been coming here for years. 3 stars for past service. I feel like it's going down for me. Reports on my car a serpentine belt needing replacement when I just got it replaced the month before, now I'm being told that my 8:30am appointment I made is pointless because "They have other appointments." So now 3 1/2hr later I get my car and had to cancel other appointments throughout my morning,.The man on the phone wasn't even apologetic, if service continues like this I need to take my services else where. I went in for a regular oil change and tire rotation. They charged me a nominal price and got it done. Next time when I went in for service to a different place they complained that the oil valve was not installed right from this service and so they were having a hard time to open it and asked me to take it back to these folks. But I didn't want to go back to them, so I came to Toyota service station and they mentioned that the Midas folks had replaced the valve with some other valve and that damaged the lining and would lead to oil leaks and stuff and I would have to pay $800 to have it sorted Not worth it. I went out to my car to go to work, only to see I had a flat!!! We got the spare on, but I work pretty far away so needed this fixed ASAP. I went here after finding out a neighbouring tire shop was stating a 3 hour wait and pointed me here. These guys got it done in 10 minutes! I originally thought I would have to get a whole new tire, but Jonathan found the leak and plugged it right then and there. Then he replaced the spare, put everything away for me, cleaned it all up, and taught me how to fix the tire pressure light. He was very professional, quick, and respectful. read more

These guys are life savers! They came to my rescue immediately, with Henry coming to jumpstart my dead battery, taking the car in for a new battery and doing the needed oil change. I was in a bind and needed a tire changed on my car. I went next door and simply to switch out one tire (I had the new tire in my car already on the wheel and ready to go), they said I would have to wait a couple hours until "my turn". I walked over to Midas, and the Manager David Zapata, said he can have my tire changed right away. I pulled up my car and they changed it in 5 minutes. They were all very friendly, from the person who changed my tire (Joel) to the store Manager, David Zapata. That's what I call efficient and amazing customer service. There's no point in setting an appnt. Might as well drop it off in the morning and expect an oil change for your car to be done at the end of the day.
