I'm talking $800+ for the "recommended" service given my car's mileage. Things are already rough for us local folks... $800+ would have been impossible. I'm also not a "car guy", so there's that. Thankfully, my wife took her car to Car Geeks before. I remember her showing me the multipoint inspection report with photos, recommendations, and suggestions for which actions to prioritize. I appreciated that the Car Geeks team provided that. Making an appointment was pretty straightforward. I told them what I needed and they answered my questions (I was particularly concerned about cost). I showed up to my appointment as scheduled. They completed the multipoint inspection and went over the recommended actions (brake fluid flush). I also received the results from the inspection in a link via text message. Once I agreed to the additional service, I approved it on the web page. However, in order to get the work done, the team needed to remove the tire for access. I explained that, unfortunately, my wheel lock key had not been returned by the previous shop I went to. In fact, it was my second set that was not returned. The Car Geeks team reviewed options with me again. They asked if I wanted to wait until I got the new key, but I said that was unlikely and I've been wanting to just switch to regular lug nuts to prevent future headaches. No problem. They were able to get that done for me as well. The team also kept me updated regularly during the visit. By the time the work was done and paid for (definitely not $800+), I was both impressed and thankful for their clear communication and teamwork. Even though I'm not a car guy, I felt like I was in the driver's seat the whole time. I was very satisfied with the work and will return to Car Geeks for future work. Mahalo nui!

My husband and I will be bringing our cars here as they easily could've charged me or taken advantage of my situation and they didn't. They saved a girl money, time and stress. We built our business based on trust and avoid anything that will break that trust." This is false advertising. My husband went there for a simple service regarding his tires. He agreed to their premium price. Without going into detail, there was a serious safety issue with my husband's car. My husband informed them about the problem; however the representative was reluctant to investigate the problem. The representative stood by his "experienced service staff." So my husband went to a reputable tire company to investigate the problem. The company discovered and concluded that American Tire Company negligently installed the tires improperly. Moreover, American Tire Company installation standards are generally set for commercial vehicles and NOT according to the specific type of vehicle that requires service. There is a sign in their office disclaiming that they are not responsible for any damages to the owner's rims but they claim to be very careful. Now I understand why they posted that disclaimer in the office. I issued a complaint with BBB. American Tire Company failed to offer any reasonable settlement. The Honolulu location is not trustworthy. I remember when the company was on Colburn St. when the company first started. SHAMEFUL! ! ! Maybe this location suits commercial vehicles only. "Quality repair services" ..."perform accurate and friendly auto repairs and tire services" is false advertisement. "We maintain a culture of respect, honesty, and commitment that extends to our people; both internal and external." These are all false statements in their website. "Caveat emptor! ! !" I had shown up early one morning, without an appointment, hoping to get in for the service, as my Ohana were visiting and I wanted to take them around the island. Kainoa got me in immediately and the usual hour and a half time allotted for an alignment went by more quickly than expected and we were on our way. There was a part I needed to replace in the back tire, which the mechanic found during the alignment. After a few weeks of waiting, the part came in and I took my car back to American Tire. They took care of everything promptly and efficiently. Even gave me a ride home (because they weren't too busy and had an extra person on the clock. This service is not usually provided, just fyi. They went out of their way, instead of having me wait for the work to get done plus the realignment, which would take approx 4 hours. Dre was super nice and we talked story on our short drive. A 3 hour wait for a safety check!…read more I thought I would get there 15 minutes before the 7:00 AM opening time (on a Tuesday) and hopefully the wait would not be long. Boy was I mistaken! When I arrived, there was a line of about (I will guess) 10 cars, entering the facility, backed up along N. Cane Street, then wrapped around Center Street, about down to the bus terminal entrance. I wasn't quite sure how long the wait will be, so now that I'm retired and (supposedly) have time, I entered the queue. I had initially planned to do an oil change and safety check the same time. After about 5 minutes, a worker came by, asking me (and other cars) what I needed to do. So it was explained that the line I was parked in is for the safety check, and if I wanted to get an oil change after my safety check, I would have to exit, go around the block, and get into line again! Even though knowing they have 3 service bays, apparently they do not do safety checks concurrently with oil changes. Not sure why; whether they have only 1 (very busy) certified inspector on duty, or they have only 1 set of equipment (the iPad) to do safety checks.... IDK. As I got closer, it did not seem like the other 2 service bays were used much as hardly anyone was doing oil changes or other service at that time I was there. In my unformed opinion, I wonder whether if both these facilities and personnel could be utilized more optimally. Anyhow, the line moved every 12 - 18 minutes, so when a car is finished, the queue moves up a bit, stops, then repeats. So doing the math, looks like there were about a dozen cars before me! So Beware! If you want a safety check at this location on a weekday morning, might want to think about getting in line EARLY, and hopefully you're closer to the front! Or perhaps in the midday, the queue might be shorter... I really don't know...

I wasn't sure what was going on, but I knew it had to be looked at before It got worse. I contacted Dansen's Auto Repair and described over the phone what I've been experiencing. I go to Dansen's for safety check and oil changes as they always do excellent work and the prices are affordable. They were busy, but let me know it was OK for me to bring my car in and they were going to look at my car once they were done taking care of the automobiles they were working on at the moment. The narrowed it down to my starter, contacted me and ask if I wanted to move forward with replacing the starter. I said yes. They replaced the starter, tested it and contacted me to let me know. that my car was ready to be picked up. They finished it sooner than expected. I was so happy because my car gets me to frequent doctor appointments and physical therapy. Impressed is such an understatement for my experience with this Goodyear location…read more Let me sum up a horrific afternoon I experienced recently: - Something on the freeway punctured my tire - I couldn't safely get off the freeway, so HPD picked me up to take me to a nearby shopping center - Talked to GEICO for an hour trying to set up a tow truck to install the spare tire - 3 hours later, the tow truck arrives and asks me to walk over to a nearby park (in the rain) so he wouldn't be in the way - While I was waiting for the tow truck, I found out all of our local Sam's Club locations didn't carry my tire and I would need to wait about 10 days for it to come in. I tried Costco Tire Center, but after MANY attempts, no one answered the phone. - Last resort was to call a local Goodyear location This is why I ended up here. On the first attempt, Cody (store manager) answered the call. He informed me that my particular tire has been discontinued and offered to find a similar tire that they could install. I gave him the information for the tires I currently have and he quickly found something comparable. I explained to him that it would be a while before the tow truck came, but he said not to worry. He set me up with an appointment and told me to just make my way there whenever I was ready. I wasn't able to get to the store until about 10 minutes before closing. Cody said it wasn't a problem and that they would stay open until they got my tire fixed. They even offered to do a checkup for my car (free of charge) to make sure none of the other tires were affected and that my car was okay. While waiting, I gained a lot of information about how their servicing is much cheaper than what I normally pay, that if I buy tires from them that they will replace it for free with the same or similar tire, that I can come in at any time to get a checkup for my car and that if I get their Goodyear credit card, then there would be even more discounts applied. No annual fee, too! I was sold to become their new lifetime customer. In Pearl City, they are right between Burger King and Popeyes. Super convenient location for me and the customer service is excellent. Make sure to ask for the store manager (Cody) because he will take excellent care of you and your vehicle.
