I got my car out of another shop and my muffler fell off. I used my belt to hold it off the ground and called Midas. They told me to bring it down for a free inspection. After explaining my horror story with another establishment I handed over my keys. Within 5 minutes my car was already being hoisted on the ramps. The receptionist was very helpful and really cool without being that annoyingly helpful (you know what I mean). Within 20 minutes the mechanics came to explain what all needed to be worked on and took me in the garage to show me what was going on (which is good, I'm an automotive idiot). The other shop told me that I needed a whole new exhaust system, but the employees at Midas shown me the exact piece that needed replacement and it will only cost me a faction of what I was told. I told the tech i needed the car to drive early in the morning so my wife can buy books from U.H., He said he could get the parts in first thing in the morning and would have it done first thing. They even agreed to keep it overnight so it could be fixed right away. I even asked for a few modifications to ensure my exhaust wouldn't hit the pavement again. They told me it wouldn't be a problem and they would take care of those as well. For Friendliness, helpfulness, flexibility, and for moments notice service that's unheard of here they get 5 stars from me. I normally don't write these things but they have went out of their way to help me out when I needed it. From now on if there is something wrong with my car that Midas can fix its going there. read more

I prefer to go to the car dealership for most of our servicing needs; however, I needed to get a safety check and it was on the way out, and going to dealership for safety check is kinda dumb. So anyways, it was really cheap, and fast. I got in and out quickly. I gave it 3 stars because the customer service wasn't that great--I think it was lunch time and the person's blood sugar was low and so they were moody as a result :) I will be back for my safety check again. read more

Another great experience with a honest technician. I was told by another place that my serpentine belt needed changing. I inspected the belt myself at home and could not find any fraying or cracks. Midas took a look and gave me there honest opinion, which was to not change the belt at this time. Kudos to Midas Wahiawa for their honesty, integrity, and business ethics. read more

Midas is terrible. Took my vehicle in for a/c repair. The customer service was terrible. A/C was not fixed. Charged $180.00. Estimate for $850 repair. Took the vehicle to another place and they "charged" the A/C. A/C works now. Do not recommend this shop for anything! read more

This place is HORRIBLE, got quote for alternator change they told me it would be 1100 with changing 3 belts. I thought sure what a deal, they call us back telling me the didn't even change the belts and the price for just changing the alternator is $900. FUCKING BULLSHIT. Place is garbage. Last month rotated my tires only to have the wheel barring fuck up paid 400 to have that fixed last week only to go back today because my rotor has grooves in it due to them not doing the job properly which they wanted me to pay to fix that also. I wish I didn't even have to leave one star. Worst experience dealing with a shop. Ever. The lady up front was one of the most rudest people I have met in all of Hawaii. She got mine and my husband's car mixed up, and insisted mine needed a different kind of oil that it certainly did not. Glad I stood my ground about it and then she was like oh yeah...you're right. Duh. It's my car. I know my car. So freaking rude. Had a coupon for the oil change and she said I couldn't use it even though I've used in the past and it's never been a problem and wasn't expired. I'll never go here again. I've gone a few times and it was always okay service. For fellow military member and family , I suggest firestone on post. It wasn't as busy, they were nice, and it was overall cheaper. Don't waste your time at Midas. And to Midas, hire someone that knows what they are doing up front and won't argue with customers. read more

Not impressed. Went in to get a tire patched or replaced. Before looking at my tire Midas attempted to sell me 1 tire for $470+, and told me it was because i had a rare tire. When i declined to buy the $470 tire, they gave me the cold shoulder. I left and went literally across the street to another repair shop and got honest service and a brand name new "rare" tire for $160. If you want the stereotypical bad experience from a repair shop Midas Wahiawa might be the place for you, but definitely not for me. read more

Every time I come in they are very quick. Today I was especially happy with the help I received from Craig. He honored a special that was no longer available since I had seen the advertisement for it and brought my car in. He was also able to unclog my windshield washer lines when I had asked if they could tell me what it would cost to fix it....he did it in about 2 minutes and didn't charge me. When he recommended changing the air filter, he brought it out to show me why instead of just telling me to change it. And to top it all off, he helped me load my 2 month old son and all his gear back into my car. So nice to have such great customer service. Very appreciative of his help! Thanks Craig! read more

I scheduled an appointment online. I stated that I wanted an oil change & the brake pads replaced. I received a confirmation email that said I would be contacted within an hour. No contact was made. I called and the receptionist said to bring the car in immediately. I arrived at 2:10 PM and the receptionist took my keys to have the guys perform the maintenance. At 4 PM, the maintenance guy called me up & gave me his findings (needed new pads AND rotors)... And told me I had to come back to have the brakes done! My car wasn't ready until 4:30 PM. For those counting at home, 2 1/2 hours for an oil change! If I could rate this place a zero, I would. My experience was TOTALLY unsatisfactory. read more

***UPDATE BELOW **Well I thought I would give this place a try as an alternative route to taking it to the dealer. Big mistake... #1 a push pin was lost on my car,#2 my car was test driven without my knowledge,#3 My car wasn't available to me for 2 days, #4 I was told if they couldn't find out what was wrong I didn't have to pay. Not only did they lie to me I paid $87 and 2 days for a rental AND $20 for the hood pin they lost. Not only that when it was looked at by a Chrysler tech he said they did not tighten my bolts enough on my engine when they tore it apart. Not to mention they never answer the phone so I'm out of the loop. All this just so I could take it to the dealer anyway. All Midas did was waste my money and time. This will be my first and last trip to this shop or any for that matter and I will let all my military co-workers know how unprofessional Midas operates. (Update) The assistant manager (Thomas) called me after this review. He was very respectful and gave me a full refund. I do believe the 1st impression was bad but I'm glad to see at least the management made it right. He also took my criticism openly and said he would make the necessary changes. read more

Well any place thats going to charge me 50 dollars just to look at my car can Kiss my @$$, i went there because my car was acting funny and the check engine light was on. so being that i was close to wahiawa i went to these guys. i left my car there, and a few hours later they give me a call saying they need to replace a part and its going to cost me $800.00. At that point i had already paid 50 for them to look at and a extra 40 or so just for them to turn off the check engine light (or what i was told). The next day i get a call saying the part they have don't fit so they have to order it. so day two with out a car. so on day three they finally got the part installed it then i picked it up. after it was all said and done i paid about $900.00. and before i left they said there was something wrong with my breaks and i need to replace the pads and more, but they will give me a good price. at this point i know i have been screwed over so i decided to take my car to Central Auto repar and services down the street on california. i tell them my breaks are acting funny and they said "okay leave us the keys and we will look at it". No $50.00 dollar charge and no BS. it took a while because they are pretty busy and they had a lot of cars infront of me. When i picked it up they said all they had to do was tighten up the breaks and that there was still a lot of pad on the breaks.The total cost for this was $50.00 so i saved about $50.00 from going there. I havent had any problems with my breaks ever since. so if i was you i would recommend going to Central auto over this Horrible place any day! read more

Let me make this very clear....do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! They are all very rude and have no idea what they are doing! My husband and I have been dealing with this location for well over a month now and it has been hell!First, we were buying a used car so we took it to midas and paid $125 for their detailed inspection and they told us there were only a few minor things wrong with the car. We bought the car, had those minor issues fixed at their shop and went on our way. 5 days later the check engine light came on! We took it back to them and they said it was just a sensor and they will fix it. We waited all day and when we went to pick it up the car wouldn't start!They said they would pay for us to have a rental car while they figured out what they had done to the car. We finally got the car back 3 days later and then they tell us that there is like 5 things wrong with the car and that we shouldn't have bought it...even though we paid them to do an inspection before buying it! I could keep going on and on but I think you get the picture. The manager, Ron, is a complete jerk and has no idea about customer service and it has been over a month now and we still haven't received the check as reimbursement for the rental car that they said they would pay for! Also, one of their employees made an anti military remark the last time we were in there and it was appalling. He said "stupid military, they come here and buy used cars and then get mad at us for something being wrong with them." Is it too much to ask for them to do their jobs and actually inspect the car before we buy it like we paid them to do? read more

The receptionist Hoku is very friendly,helpful and quick to check me in. Later, I was greeted by a horrible service technician that had a bad attitude when he first approached me from the start. I told him I didn't like how rude he was and didn't want him touching my car. Little Did he know (or myself) that the owner was standing right behind me and saw the whole display of his bad customer service skills. The owner then tapped me on the shoulder and apologized for his actions and went to have a long talk with him. Later he had to come inside and give me a sincere apology for how rude and short tempered he was to me. I gave him some choice words and then he went back to work. The owner apologized several times for the situation and gave me my service for free. Also said he was going to get trained on his customer service skills. She reminded me that's not how they do business and please give us another chance. She then gave me her personal number and said if there's anything else I can to to help with your vehicle please let us know. Ron,the store manager that worked on my car was very nice and fixed everything on my car that it needed. Ron even called me the next day to follow up with me to see how I was and how my car was doing. Long story short, I was greatful the owner was there to solve this and help me the right way with my car. This facility is overall a great place and has some awesome people that really care about their work place. They made it up to me and I am so appreciative. Huge thanks to Dianne, Ron and Hoku. Oil change and tire rotation. Work wise it got accomplished. The problem...online pay option. Paid for two items for two different vehicles. Granted I didn't bring a printed copy in but I had my iPhone with the receipt shown. Not good enough. I can board a plane with an electronic boarding document but not get my car fixed. The guy at the counter Arlen couldn't find my receipt and for all intense and purposes gave up. I had to call one of the owners of Midas, Dianne Pereira, which she said she needed to call her webmaster to find the receipt. So neither her nor the front desk guy could find my receipt. Glad the manager Keoni is running that shop since he took the time and found the receipt. This was almost 45 minutes already and my car was not taken in. Never received an apology from anyone at Midas. So for an oil change and tire rotation at $40 I waited an hour and a half, the hour waiting to check in and half hour for the work. Guess you get what you pay for. I usually change my own oil except I cannot fit under my car but maybe I will start doing it again. I hate shitty customer service and this was shitty. I did get a tire rotation done from them and the lady behind the desk was alot better compared to Arlen. read more

I got my inspection done here & the guy who did mine didn't use a floor mat, so he got his dirty black shoe prints on my floor mat. upon returning I had to remind them to use a paper mat prior to getting in my car. overall horrible service. will not be returning for any maintenance on my vehicle. wish I could give less than one star. read more

this midas location and i beleive all are crooks. i took my car in for auto inspection. midas wahiawa shop told me i will needs to pay over $920.00 in repairs before the vehicle would ba able to pass safety inspection. i told co-workers about this, my co-workers told me to never travel back over to midas location in wahiawa or fact that reason to any midas location. co-worker gave me information on one honest auto car repair shop. i took my car over the same day in the afternoon, presented the inspection list from midas and told them to check thos items as well as the entire car for safty. the second auto shop found a total of $253.00 of repair needed, and the most expense items that midas included for repair was not on the second auto's repair or replace list. midas is a crook, stay away and never go their, never read more

I go into get my headlight bulbs swapped out and a safety inspection completed. I bring the parts with me and they start on the bulb replacement. They then realize that it is an electrical problem. They want $125 dollars to run a diagnostic on a car. That would be cool, except THEY DON'T DO ELECTRICAL WORK or have a list of preferred shops for electrical work. I would have essentially payed them 125 dollars for nothing, because they could have done nothing with the information. I told them "No, thank you." and went to the Nissan Dealership and they ran a diagnostic, fixed the electrical problem, replaced my bulbs and gave me two free car washes for the grand total of 97 dollars. It made me feel like Midas wanted my money, but they didn't want to fix my problem. read more

They took my car and confirmed that I wanted safety check and oil change special...and said it'd be an hour. I tried to give clerk my coupon and she said she didn't need it. 45 minutes later I got a call about my safety check and they forgot to do my oil change...then they put my car in the back of the line...I asked what happened and the clerk said I didn't know you wanted an oil change...I said, I made an appt and had the coupon. She said, "I don't remember that"...are you kidding...?). An hour and a half later, I got my car back...This place is a joke! read more

Taken 3 different vehicles for oil changes. People working were nice so that's why they got 2 stars. They overfilled every vehicle with oil by over a quart each. I told them about it after the first 2, they said they read the manual and that's what it told them to put in. If you have to read a manual to change oil, you need to hire some different mechanics. read more
