Chicken teriyaki wasn't that great. I wouldn't return. I don't eat seafood so I can't comment on the sushi.

Just ate in-house tonight. The waitstaff was right on top of things and very cute. I had the Thai fresh spring roll- it was very different and not fried. It was really good. I also had a couple Hand rolls: lobster tempura and sweet potato. My wife had the surf and turf hibachi which was also really good. My daughter had sashimi entre and she said it was amazing. When entering for a quick bite with a friend we were the ONLY customers there, but yet it took three waitresses to get a soda, ordered edamame which I found a hair in them after eating about 6, talk about turning your stomach. Told the waitress she went &got the owner who told me that "it was fine because I wasn't going to eat the outside of it" but for all of those who eat this would know that you put the shell in your mouth to eat the seeds from it. Sushi was great, although when i ordered I had asked for a side of spicy mayo which when my order came I did not have it, waitress said she'd be right back but never bought the side of spicy mayo so I had to speak out loudly to ask for one, &just to top it off the fried ice cream was completely frozen burnt &owner said to one of the waitresses "that's what it is" yeah of course ice cream that I can't even get my spoon through! Even though the sushi was good, I won't be back! Customer service comes first when owning a business &they all seemed to be beyond rude after I sat there with my debit card out for ten minutes & then continued to bring me the bill all for her to just walk away quickly for me to just put the card in the book &wait another 10 minuets for my card to be ran. This place is definitely worth trying if you are a local and don't want to drive for 20 minutes for sushi. They do a succulent duck as well as fresh sushi. They really need to change their name if they want their business to grow. read more

Came very excited to try the Pad Thai which I was told was gluten free. I ordered it after specifying my allergy and then the waitress came out and said the sauce isn't fresh, it's pre made and there is no way they can make it GF due to the soy sauce. I specifically asked which noodle dishes were GF and after ordering and being excited about it they said they can't make it. They couldn't even make any modifications in order to make it GF. Just to get this out of the way, the food was great, fast table service (albeit rushed for decision, kept asking if we were ready even though we were the only patrons sitting in the dining area at the time). Our server, who's name was Nicole if our receipt is correct, gave me a hard time about ONE sushi roll. She took our orders and repeated them back to us, and they sounded correct to the table and she went on her way. Ok, fine. When the food arrived, everything looked great except one roll was not what we wanted (it was a cucumber roll, and we wanted cucumber avocado). Doesn't seem like a huge deal, right? Well apparently it was. She fought us, saying she repeated the order and we said it was ok, but when she repeated the order it appeared that she said the correct roll. She did have an accent, so we may have misunderstood - hey misunderstandings happen! But she gave us a very hard time over a roll that took all of 30 seconds to make and probably cost a grand total of $1 including ingredients and labor. She, with much attitude, insisted she was correct, and when I tried to send it back she would not accept it and said we had to pay for it as well as pay for the correct roll. Eventually I just gave up because she was not going to budge, but it sullied my experience over one small thing. Had it been a larger roll, or an entree I would have understood but this was so silly. I'm one to accept my mistakes, and make the best of any situation but this really got under my skin. As others have said, don't be put off by the name -- this is a fine restaurant with about the best sushi we have ever had, and we are very picky about Asian food, it has to be authentic and this is the real deal. We've eaten here about 10 times and the food is consistently excellent, whether we grab one of the lunch specials, dinner or just appetizers to bring home. The sweet potato salad is an amazing presentation and delicious as well, as are all of the rolls. Our biggest problem each time we go there is deciding what to have! I had planned on visiting this restaurant for a while now, and I'm glad I did! The vegetable hibachi choice was a great price, as well as great-tasting. It was a good portion, and I like the choice of soup or salad, as I love the salad, and my boyfriend loves the soup. The meat options were a little pricy, but apparently quite tasty. The place has a nice, small, modern ambience with clean facilities and plenty of different Asian meal options. I plan on returning often! read more

When it comes to Japanese food I am extremely picky. Your not going to find a better restraunt in the New England area. The tuna pizza is my guilty little pleasure, the salmon rolls are incredible, the mango peanut salad is to die for and the teriyaki chicken isn't half bad but needs more sauce. read more

Update: first review indicated the business name was an issue. At that time, they were called Sushi Express. They've since renamed it to Miku, enhanced the decor, but kept the excellent food, service and prices. Love this place. read more

I eat at Miku Sushi almost 3 times a week. Great quality and very nice people.

I'am gad this place opened up. Barrington needed a new sushi place. Its a small place but its very decorated on the inside. They have sushi cooked and uncooked! I like uncooked sushi and they had some very good special rolls like the Soy paper Rainbow and the Dancing Tuna roll. I can't wait to go back! read more

was not impressed with the place.. very small place and the wait staff were not that helpful.. my husband ordered sushi and i order hawaii shrimp... he got his in a fairly good time, but mine took a very long time... the food was ok, the miso soup was not good, it was warm and had no flavor.. my husband had the thai seafood soup and it had very little seafood in it.. i do not think we will go back. we were not happy with the place.. been to better sushi places. read more

We go here a lot because it is convenient and the sushi is good. It is presented beautifully and is flavorful. My favorite sushi in RI is Haruki but, sometimes it is easier to stay in town. If there were 1/2 star ratings - I'd actually give it a 3.5 stars only because of consistency. Sometimes the appetizers are AMAZING and sometimes they are ok/GOOD. The other night, we went and they were ok/ good. The Rock shrimp tempura appetizer was smaller portion than usual. At first, I was not sure if it was smaller or the plate was bigger than usual. We realized it was a bit of both. They also cut the shrimps in half - which they have never done before. Were they out of rock shrimp and passing regular shrimp off by making them smaller OR, trying to conserve and give us 1/2? Either way, that concerned me. We have ALWAYS had good meals there and now I'm a little concerned. Other that that, this is a consistently decent local sushi place, with good take out and beautiful plating of the food.
