Today was the first day that restaurants were able to open back up fir dine-in after months since the Covid-19 pandemic. Since restaurants were closed, I myself have never even ordered take-out or delivery. Stayed away from restaurants and actually ate at home more. There seemed to have been ample parking when I got there at 1:15 or so. When I first stepped into the venue, there were no customers. It was just my friend and I from what I could see. Everyone in there were very polite. We were helped right away, got our food out quickly, and our banchan was replenished when they came to ask if we were okay. I believe the owner was the owner who helped us, and she is always very nice! All workers wore masks to help patrons as they came in to dine-in or pick up for take out. The menus were also brand new, updated and changed. The food was tasty as always, and it was just nice to be able to have a meal inside of a restaurant with a friend. With this COVID-19 pandemic, we've been trying to support local restaurants and when Mink was craving Korean recently, she decided to support Million Restaurant. We had to pick up groceries at Sam's Club so it was perfect since they are right new to each other. Since it was so close by, we decided not to do a phone order and just order there. I found a parking stall right in front on Sheridan so it was easy to get in and out within 15 minutes. They do have a private lot in back but I'm not a fan of the tight stalls and potholes. This was the first time I've gotten takeout from them but when I received our order, the plates were heavy! Mink ordered BBQ with Bulgogi and I ordered Meat Jun with Kalbi. Both plates came with seaweed soup, kimchee, steamed egg, fish cake, their famous potato salad and rice. Sorry, I was starving so I didn't take a pic. I do miss all the banchan when you dine in but that isn't an option atm so we're appreciative of what we got in our order. Food is consistently good and Mink really likes their meat jun sauce. Since I'm updating their review, I'll review dining in as well. Last few times I went, customer service was the same. At times it can be slow but the kitchen is pretty quick and gets food out in a timely manner. There are waits during the dinner rush so reservations are good. If you come for late night eats then you should be good. I don't recall ever having to wait late night. Decor has not changed and their seats/tables can be sticky sometimes. They could use a facelift but people are there for food and not decor. Solid place and can't wait to go back to dine in when the pandemic is over. read more

We went there with a purpose, my wifey wanted something spicy to open up her sinus because she had a cold. They didn't disappoint, her Jjigae worked wonders. I had a stone pot that I didn't order from here before I it was perfect. My son ordered Kimchi jun, made slightly crisp and I think the only thing that wasn't great was the spicy pork. They're finally open for dine in! Been coming here since I was in high school. Finally got my cravings satisfied today. Yay! When we arrived there wasn't as much people dining in there. So we were seated quickly. Service was great! They serve a bunch of dishes and sets. We chose our usual, Set B and soonduboo. Everything came out quickly after we ordered. They do have new menus! I love that they serve a bunch of side dishes and seaweed soup. It's my favorite. A very light and comforting flavor. We all left feeling full and satisfied with the service and food. read more

This was my first time back to this place since covid started. This used to be 1 of my favorite places for Korean. We ordered 3 dishes of which all 3 were pretty junk. My gf had the fried chicken which she said was turning rotten. I had the Kim chee soup and thought it was way too salty. Lastly we had the stone pot bbq beef fried rice. I've already been back here many times. This restaurant is now my go-to for Korean food. Their takeout service is amazing. You call in the order, and bam! 10 minutes later, you get piping hot, ready to eat, delicious food wrapped all neat and clean. Their pork bossam (with oysters) is amazingly good. The pork is braised well and the meat is tender. All the ssam accoutrements are provided including the raw garlic, spicy green peppers, the half-dried radish kimchee (so good and key!), your normal kimchee, the fresh shucked oysters, and your salted nappa cabbage slices. All for $29 that could feed 3!! Their gamjatang (pork shoulder and potato stew) jungol is also on point! I miss hearty jungols that are done right in K-town restaurants in LA and NYC, but so glad to have found a place that closely matches. The stew is meaty and filled with yummy veggies like dried radish and perilla leaves, and the jungol for 2 more than enough to feed 3 and then some!! We were stuffed way beyond comfort (counterproductive, but it happens!). Again, banchan are all fresh and good, a sign of a worthy Korean foody joint. Service is uber quick. Prices are very fair! Sidenote: Their soondubu is also good, light or no msg (which is really really hard to find in Korean restaurants on island, believe me!), and portion size is generous. I make particular note of whether an Asian restaurant uses or doesn't use msg because, as I age, I find that I'm getting more hyper sensitive to the food additive. I get some nasty headaches and dry tongue and pains hours later. Combined with the fact that msg is cancer causing (what isn't! Urghh), I'd think everyone would try to avoid it if possible. I get that alot of locals come here for the Kbbq but really, step outside the box and try the traditional Korean comfort and countryside dishes, because they are the true stars of Million. Before all the AYCE BBQ joints popped up, this was the place to have your typical Korean food and for its prices, it was reasonable. I used to come here every so often when I was a kid and in high school. What I remembered most from my experiences was coming out of the restaurant so so full! And what I used to look forward to was grabbing some of their melon flavored gum (I seriously love melons) it was refreshing after eating all that heavy meat Fast forward to about 5 years later, my friends and I came here for a birthday dinner. Nothing much has changed (or that I can remember...) We decided to get Set B but subbed the bulgogi for kalbi for an extra $5 (totally worth it), a plate of fried Mandoo, and the Seafood Pancake. Service was good and very accommodating; my friend asked if she could have a side of steamed egg and they gave it to us without any complaint nor extra charge. Even though the set was meant for 2 people, we almost barely finished everything...and we had 4 people. This is definitely a good place to catch up with friends and possibly have a drink or two. I do recommend coming here with a group just so you can order a bunch of dishes without breaking the bank. Of course, coming here makes me obligated to grill some meat. You can't go wrong with any of the combos but combo A pretty much covers group favorites, especially pork belly. The combos do come with a salad and various of banchans so keep that in mind before you order so much food. I also like ordering meat jun. This is my go to Korean restaurant since I was in high school. Their parking is in the back of the building, and there are only a few stalls. This restaurant is located behind Walmart. They use to be open 24 hour, but sadly they aren't anymore. The service here is always good! They have the BBQ where you can grill yourself with different meat combinations. I feel like if it's shared between 2-3 people it is pretty filling. I know there are a lot of all you can eat places now, so others might differ. I don't come here for the meats... Their combination plates are great. My husband and friends always get kalbi short ribs, BBQ chicken, etc. with meat jun. Their meat jun is great. It is thin and perfect ratio of eggs to meat and the sauce is the cherry on top. With the plates and combinations it comes with a bowl of rice, cabbage salad, and seaweed soup (yummmm). It's a good amount for the price you pay! I love all of their soups! It reminds me of when I went to Korea as a little girl and tastes like my mom's cooking. I suppose that's why I crave Korean food and like to go to this particular restaurant. For example the Naengmyeon is a cold noodle soup with a little tangy taste great for hot summer days in Korea. Since it is always warm in Hawaii, it's a great soup to get on any day. It comes with a little side of hot mustard and a bottle of vinegar for your preference of putting it into the soup. If you are unfamiliar with the mustard and vinegar, I'd suggest putting a little at a time until it suits your taste buds. The Doenjang is also another soup I enjoy here. It comes in a hot stone pot (like bibimbap bowls) boiling with lots of vegetables such as: jalepenos, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, etc. it also comes with tofu, meat/seafood (clams), and much much more! It's a great soup to warm you soul and makes you sweat if you aren't use to spicy food. I'd say the only difference from my mom's Doenjang from this restaurant is the spice level, it is not as spicy as they make it in Korea. All the banchan are so delicious. They also refill as much as you want and if there is a slightly bigger party (5 or more usually) they will give two sets of banchan. There banchan is not always the same, but that's not unusual. If you're wanting traditional Korean food, this is the place to go. read more

Wow. I havent been here for over a decade and nothing has really changed, or has it? The place still has the same vibe. The food, i thought it was better before. Their meat jun was the best. Now, its still good, but not memorable to where i will crave it. Its kinda sad because this was my favorite place for meat jun. Oh well. The service. I guess because it was still pretty early in the evening the server basically took out order and that is all that we seen of her. Maybe they do have shared tables, but the food runners and buss persons were the only ones to help us. I swear the busser checked on us atleast 5 times compared to our servers who took our order and brought us the check. I've been gorging here over for 20 years. It's the best bang for the buck yakiniku I have found on Oahu. The meat has been consistently HIGH QUALITY there has NEVER been any problem with the flavor, cuts, or grade of the meats. Service is always friendly with a relaxed family owned restaurant vibe. Problem: Last visit: the young server decided that everyone in the restaurant should enjoy his music selection as he cranked asia pop jams streaming from his phone to the bluetooth boom box. My husband and I were craving Korean short ribs and this place delivered exactly what we were craving. We had our 11 month old with us and all of the staff were so friendly as she said "hi!" to all of them. The food came out FAST too!! One of the staff members could see me juggling between keeping her still and eating and kept bringing everything I needed to make it easier without even asking. He brought a straw for her water cup and then scissors to cut it. Then scissors again and tongs to hold the ribs and cut it into small pieces for her. This is a great hole in the wall. Million is a solid hole-in-the-wall Korean BBQ restaurant. Their food is very good, as is the service. We came on a Saturday for lunch -- it was our first lunch out since the birth of our son. My wife was craving Korean BBQ, and we figured the wait at Gen during Christmas shopping season would be crazy. We parked in one of the Million marked stalls behind the restaurant, which was really easy compared to parking at the mall at this time of year. There are a good number of booths and tables, and when we came there were only 1 or 2 other booths occupied. We ordered set B. It really hit the spot for my wife's craving. It had a good variety of BBQ meats, and came with all the little Korean side dishes, which we love. My wife hadn't had much of an appetite since delivering 3 weeks ago. My fiancé have been coming here since we first started dating 9 years ago. It's kind of a tradition now. My go to is the kalbi stone bibimbap. It's really big (I always have leftovers). But man, THEIR SOUPS. I was sick a couple weeks ago and bought their kalbi tang for delivery and I'm pretty sure it cured me single-handedly. The broth is simple but somehow also super flavorful at the same time?! It's pretty garlicky but they do NOT skimp on the kalbi! Their kimchi jigae and soondubu are also amazing. My fiancé has a culinary degree from KCC and one of his teachers said their soondubu is the best on the island . I mean I don't think he's wrong honestly. But anyway the only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because the service isn't always the best. For the most part the servers are pretty attentive and nice! But every once in a while we'll get a lazy guy that doesn't really pay attention to what he's doing. Once one of the waiters was wearing his key lanyard around his neck, and he reached across the table to fill waters and his keys dipped RIGHT into my fiancé's water cup! Like all up inside it. And when he asked for another water the guy took like 20 minutes to get it!! The wait is sometimes really long too so if you're planning to eat there I highly recommend calling first! My family I heard so much great things about this restaurant so my wife decided let's try it out. My wife calls when they opened and made a reservation being that it was a large group. We arrived there...it's literally a hole in the wall restaurant. It's street meter parking which can be the hardest thing to find. They greeted us, checked our Vax cards & ID's takes all of our temperatures and seats us. We get our cups of waters, seaweed hot soup, all of the sides...kimchee, kimchee cucumber, sesame oil dipping sauce, mandoo sauce etc...We then ordered the Yakiniku menu B & C and it gets to our table within a few minutes...Mama san...made us feel so comfortable turned our burners on explained to us what was on the plates as some of my family was not sure lol... everything was so perfect I forgot to take pictures of the food lol... I've been to many different Yakiniku style restaurants and this one by far is THE BEST. If you haven't been here. I highly suggest you try it out. Customer service and food is amazing. All I got to say...one of the best Korean Yakiniku restaurants that I ate on this island. The food selection that's at this restaurant is very impressive. The portions that you receive when ordering for your Yakiniku dining are very good sized portions. They have a big selection of meat selections too. They also have different family size packages to order from for grilling. If you don't want to eat Yakiniku style, they do have regular restaurant style as well. They have wide selection of Korean dishes you order from. The staff are helpful and are around to help you if you need more food and drinks. I recommend this restaurant due to they have pretty good hours of operation as well. They are open late for your late night hunger for some tasty Korean food. read more

Their service is quick and attentive for the strong cravings I get. Banchan is always a nice set of options and portions. My tofu stew was sooo good! Not just tofu but pieces of kimchee, beef and even clams! I was surprised with how deep the hot stone bowl is and had plenty leftovers for the next day! My friends mixed plate was so good I had to steal some for myself (oops!) The kalbi was soooo good with the perfect charred flavor we both loved. OMG, what took me so long to finally visit this place and enjoy all its goodness!! One evening when my aunt was in town the cousins suggested lets have dinner here. Here's the catch it was a Friday night. Good luck finding reservations. There were busy. So we were not able to eat here that evening. The following evening we made reservations and was able to get one for 7 and a child. Loved everything we ordered!! That's all I can say. Finally had the chance to eat their delicious food. Can't wait to visit them again. Its a fun place to eat, laugh loud and enjoy the company over a delicious meal. ERMG. I have a new KBBQ love home in Honolulu. Recently grabbed a quick bite here with my parents before leaving for the airport to return to the Midwest. I was nervous to do KBBQ so close to my flight time, but a 5pm dinner on a Monday night proved to be not only easy to squeak out in an hour, but a delicious choice! Parking along Sheridan street is metered (Pretty sure but now I cannot quite remember) and they were able to seat us immediately. Once they knew we were planning to grill (they have regular plates too that don't require cooking it yourself), they set up the grill and vent in a jiffy and brought us our rice and bonchon. We decided to order the cook it yourself-Set B which comes with chunked skirt steak, thin sliced cow tongue, brisket, pork belly, and bulgogi. We switched out the bulgogi and replaced it with Kalbi ($5 charge for switching out meat). The set also comes with seaweed soup, bonchon, salad, and dipping sauces. The bonchon is portioned correctly and delicious. When the food came, the waiter used a cube fat to oil up the grill so the meats don't stick. The whole experienced was packaged very neatly and I truly loved it. Will make it a staple on future trips home. Cost per person is ~$23 to order the 2 person set with 3 ppl- and you leave just full but not overstuffed. Must try! read more

I love Million Restaurant! It's not really AYCE, but they give so much food on the platter for 2 that you walk out stuffed. Our party had 6 of us, we ordered 3 platters, and couldn't finish all of our food (we cooked it all and may have taken some home as leftovers). Service was a bit slow, but it was about 830pm and the restaurant was busy. They gave us lots of salad (for our non-rice eaters), seaweed soup, tons of banchan (potato salad ftw!) and rice. Our platter had bulgogi, shrimp, kalbi, flank steak, chicken...so much meat! YUM! This is one of those places that is popular and you want to review and keep business up, but you also don't want others to find because it makes it harder to get in...haha. read more

This little neighborhood Korean BBQ place has a homey feel to it, not quite a hole in the wall, but definitely been there long enough that all the delicious BBQ smell and grease has been soaked up into its walls. Service was good, the waitress was polite and friendly. We picked combo "C", with marinate Kalbi, beef outside skirt, beef tongue, Beef brisket and chicken. The quality of the meat could be better. I had a few large piece of tough pieces of beef that cannot be eaten. And this is the reason why I only gave 3 stars. The side dishes was abundant and delicious. They can also be reordered without additional charge. There are many large tables with comfortable booth seatings. The BBQ grill setup is standard with a well-working suction fan directly above the grill. I might come back here again, but only order the Kalbi, and skip the combo, as the combos tend to contain lower quality meats. read more

I would just like to preface this review by saying I really liked Million. I've been visiting occasionally since the beginning of this year, and I really enjoyed their food, particularly the kimchi fried rice. Service is decent, and the overall vibe of the restaurant gives an old school hole-in-the-wall atmosphere, which I appreciate. However, I want to post this review to show what I found in my Million takeout box yesterday at work: a roach (please ignore my own personal green onion additions.) This was possibly inside of my takeout container to begin with, given that it was towards the bottom, with its legs up. It could have even been in my food when I ate it in the restaurant, since that I slid my food into the takeout box and didn't scoop it out. Maybe my own unawareness is to blame here; that's why I'm giving a two-star review for the time being. But regardless, this will definitely make me reconsider my Korean restaurant of choice from now on. Just a heads up to all the people eating here: this location inside a decrepit building on Sheridan obviously has its cons. Please be wary, as I apparently am not the only person to have an "insect experience" at this eatery. read more

I got a bbq beef plate takeout and when I got home and started eating I did a double take when the meat appeared to be a shiny green/blue hue like peacock feathers. You kind of had to hold it at the right angle to the light but it was clearly there and it completely disgusted me. I looked it up and I read that this can happen when there is a reaction between metals and meat or something like that. So I was like.. ok maybe it's not that bad.. and I ate the piece of meat. Then I picked up another one and it had that shiny oil slick color to it too, I had to throw the rest away. I don't think I could ever be able to eat here again read more

Came here the other night, and although the food is still good & service is quick & friendly. I have to downgrade a star to the cleanliness of restaurant. We have been going here for over 20+ years and they seriously need to update or do a deep cleaning. The carpet where there is the lost foot traffic is literally black, but under certain tables you can see it's actually flower printed. The smoker barely works that you will definitely leave there extra bbq smelling then other places. Don't get me wrong, We enjoyed our food like always & still one of our favorites, but they're in dire need of a major upgrade, because this time we were a little grossed out. The bbq chicken was great but it definitely didn't make up for meat jun.
