Literally such delicious food and drinks here. I haven't had authentic Taiwanese cafe food since moving out of the area, but this place brings me back to my roots. The auntie here who take care of me was the sweetest and was super lovely to chat with. Their menu is super expansive but takes care of everything from the basic delicious picked dishes to main rice/noodle dishes. One of the drinks of the day was a kumquat lemon tea, which I got with no sugar or ice. Will say without the sugar, it tasted like a lemon candy which was such a nice complement of both tangy but slightly sweet from the kumquats. I got the combination rice plate and one of their appetizers of the day. Food was so yummy and portions were so generous. We had to get our meal to go. Not sure why this place has so low reviews. Apparently this is the original spot since they have two other stores in the SGV area. Great place for authentic Taiwanese food. My parents have been bringing me their bento boxes for years now, but came recently to catch up with a friend. This was during the recent heatwave, so it was pretty empty. I ordered the red grain pork rice. I preferred the one at Monja Taiker, but this one wasn't far off! They provided some kind of sauce on the side but I barely used it. They seem to always have some drink specials, but I was already full. Their lunch specials come with a drink though! We sat down and were promptly attended to by these young kids. We decided to start off with some stewed seaweed as appetizer and my whole family ordered noodle soup. She does not speak English and not even trying. She even told us to "hurry up, lot of customer waiting", while we were still not done. I guess we were not considered a customer then? She only being polite to customer who speaks Chinese. So if you can't speak Chinese, please don't expect to get any kind of service in this place. I liked how it came with a good amount of bok choy and carrots. It was a well balanced bowl of noodles and they don't skimp on the meat! Stinky tofu was fantastic too. The pickled cabbage that came with it paired perfectly with the tofu. Parking is easy because it's in a plaza with multiple businesses.
