Saw this place a few days ago. Checked out reviews and menu and decided to come back. Wife and I had to wait five minutes at front hostess station cause nobody was there. Hostess / Waitress finally seats us and place is almost empty (only about 5 tables with guests). We ordered a couple of Mimosas and each ordered Chicken and Waffles. Took a while to get our food and drinks. The Mimosas were nice. The Waffles were HUGE and fluffy and done perfectly. The chicken was juicy but had no taste whatsoever. Just breaded flattened chicken breast. Even salt and pepper barely helped. We noticed that a table in main dining area had lots of dirty plates, glasses and utilsenils piled on it. Our used empty items....champagne mini bottles, mimosas glasses, syrup glasses, etc.. ...also sat on edge of table for over 30 minutes..Even as waitress came and went with a cup of coffee I ordered and extra syrups. And I never got a coffee refill in over fifteen minutes. Our table and the dining room trash table never did get cleaned up before we left. I noticed our waitress was basically alone but we saw table busboys/girls out and about before they disappeared in the back. My family and I came here for breakfast this morning. Service was extremely slow especially for a Monday. It took 45 minutes to finally put our order in with our waitress. I ended up ordering the salmon Benedict which I do not recommend . The dish ended up giving me extreme food poisoning the entire day. I asked my family as well if they did not feel well. Turns out everyone ended up having food poisoning even though we all ordered different dishes. I will not be back again read more

I am so beyond disappointed with the route Mimi's has taken. Living in the valley my whole life Mimi's was always a family go-to. Special occasions, birthdays and celebrations were always at Mimi's. We were planning to have breakfast at Hash in Friday but the wait was over an hour so we decided on Mimi's. Something in my gut was telling me to leave but I didn't listen. From the dark musty dining room, to the several other un-happy looking diners to the waitress literally yelling across the room to the hostess seating a party in her over capacitated section. Mimi's would be a perfect scenario for Gordon Ramsay's 24 hours to hell and back. I am less than impressed with the breakfast menu. Nothing really sticks out as being really delicious or unique. We returned my husbands breakfast since it was incredibly soggy and undercooked. The kids breakfast lacks creation, two cold pancakes cut in half to resemble a dog? I solemnly leave a negative review but this place needs a MAJOR and I repeat, MAJOR makeover-revamp-remodel-restart. read more

The Asian chopped salad with avocado and no chicken was delicious. This was my first time at Mimi's and I think that salad was all the vegan options they had but it was good enough that I'll be back. The dressing was awesome. Service was great, was sat quickly and the serve Katie was quick and on top of everything. They did have an amazing looking valentines three course meal for $20. Worst cafe! Service sucked they took forever to get our food. And there was maybe 3 tables full. Food was super pricey and not that good at all! I will highly suggest no one comes here. The hostess was extremely rude. I'm visiting my 87 & 92-year-old parents and this is one of their favorite restaurants. The hostess would not seat us bc only 3 of the 6 were physically present. I asked if she would seat us anyway bc I was with my parents and they both have mobility problems that require them to use walkers. She stated that she had to seat two other lady's first. Keep in mind, our visit was Saturday, Nov 14th at 1230 and they were not busy. She sat us reluctantly after she sat the 2 ladies. My wife and kids showed up about 10 mins later, but my kids brought in-in-out, so we had them sit outside to eat where we could watch them through the window. The receptionist then came and told us that the children could not bring outside food into the restaurant. I stated, they are sitting outside. And she informed us that it was a food violation for people to consume outside food on the property. My wife took the children to the car. By this time I was extremely upset but somehow managed not to cuss her out, but this woman was of the F'ing mind. The food was fine and our waitress was great and completely sympathetic to our situation. It blows my mind that Mini's could employ such an incompetent person as a hostess. read more

We arrived at 5 PM and no cars in the parking lot. We thought they were closed, not so. We went in and we're the only dinners. Dirty dishes on one table and I wonder why no one bus the tables since no one was in the restaurant. Carpet was filthy rotten dirty and should have been replaced years ago. If the carpet was that dirty, what's the kitchen like. This store is tired and needs a total upgrade. Wait staff ignored us and I had to ask for flat ware and other items. With us being the ONLY ones eating at that time why did we not get enough attention? At about 5:35 another couple came in. That meant only 4 people eating. We left at 5:50 and no one else was in the restaurant. What does that tell you about the management and quality of food? Make your choice. This will be the last time we eat at this store. read more

When we entered the restaurant was not busy but yet the hostess didn't seat us for like 15 minutes. Then it took the server to bring us stuff forever. My friend asked for lemons and the little dish came dirty. When the server brought out bread and the side plates he proceeded to scratch off some dried food on it and give it to me. I made him bring me a clean dish, still didn't trust it wasn't the same dirty one. Then our food came out cold. The Turkey dinner I ordered was dry and the au gratin potatoes weren't cooked all the way. My friend had salmon with broccoli and the broccoli was over cooked. Nice establishment! Went in for dinner, the menu had so many different options to choose from, so I ordered the Mushroom & Brie Melt. Came here on a Sunday at 12:20pm. Got seated instantly (it wasn't too busy). Waited till 12:40 for someone to serve our table or even serve us with water. Tried to flag down the waiters a couple times to no avail. Ended up walking out and going somewhere else where they value their customers. Even when we walked past the hostess stand to exit, no one acknowledged us. Never coming back. Horrible experience. Please save your time and money and go someplace else, maybe even a McDonalds. read more

Been a loyal returning customer for years. Every year we have either done in dining for Thanksgiving or ordered To Go for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is 2 1/2 wks til Christmas and they still cannot give me an answer if they are doing the To Go Christmas Feast. Mimi's Cafe is one my favorite places to go for lunch or Dinner. They are always very accommodating to me when I want to make changes. I got the turkey dinner entree, but exchanged the turkey for grilled salmon and they did that without any issues. I also had a mango mimosa which was delicious! The coffee was fresh and kept s topped off. I usually get their strawberry lemonade which is amazing but I was feeling a little Sunday funday! Parking is super open and never packed since it's in a shopping center. Our waitress was attentive and came to the table several times to check on on as well. Overall great experience! read more

First timer here: Was my first go, as I was excited for the stuffed french toast, assuming it was all day breakfast. They do have all day breakfast, but it was only about 5 items I think :( Anyhow, I'm not picky. Ordered the Mushroom Brie burger (medium well). It was ok. But it wasn't medium well (see picture). And half of it tasted burnt on the edges. The $5 red house wine was good though. My gf thought the Cobb salad was ok. Decent. The soup she got with it wasn't very hot at all. A tad bit over room temp...still tasted good though. Anyhow, I've still heard things about this place. Maybe it's the breakfast that sets it apart. I'll probably try breakfast from here one day, and edit this review possibly. I just don't understand why anyone eats breakfast at a place like Denny's when you can go to Mimi's and have SUCH a different experience (like servers who haven't been up late drinking the night before). I have always loved this place (it's on my A-OK chain list), especially for breakfast. The atmosphere is cute and charming, the servers generally seem to be a higher caliber and I love the variety of flavors on their breakfast menu. If you sign up for the Mimi's e-club, they instantly send you a coupon for a free breakfast (up to a $10 value). With items like Pain Perdue Stuffed French Toast, Eggs Benedict Florentine and a Chipotle Breakfast Burrito it was a difficult decision. I, however, settled on the healthiest option (I checked the caloric content on the website), the Capresse Omlette which was just delish and includes diced tomatoes, red onions and basil topped with sliced tomatoes and fresh mozzerella and a tomato cream sauce which I ordered on the side. My dining partner ordered the Ham & Cheddar Croissant (a whopping 1,235 calories, but apparently worth it) with breakfast potatoes. So, along with being a price Nazi, I've become a calorie Nazi. Most of the breakfast entrees include a freshly baked muffin and fresh squeezed juice. It was a perfectly delicious and very filling breakfast. Our server was just fabulous and I gave her double the tip I normally would have since I used the coupon for a free breakfast. I can't wait to come back here in a week or two, and BTW do try to come during the week if possible as the wait is significantly less. read more

My parents and I did not enjoy our time here. We came in at 10:20am just for a quick brunch but we left at 12:15pm because everything was taking so long. Our food took nearly 40 minutes to be cooked. The waitress didn't even serve us water. Also, our dishes costed $15 each yet it didn't even taste delicious. My salmon tasted odd, and my mom's potatoes were burnt. My dad's omelette was mediocre. There was no sense of hospitality, we had to be quiet and stare down the waitress for her to come over. However, I will give 1 stars because the waitress was being polite and said that she was the only waitress in the entire restaurant. read more

Quite a while back I ate at Mimi's. The food was good and the French Onion Soup was terrific. The other day, with some friends, we ate at Mimi's. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was. I ordered the onion soup which tasted terrible and the cheese was not the correct onion soup cheese. I also had a Caesar salad and it was very bad. The lettuce was wilted and not fresh. Some of the lettuce had browned. I had said I wanted the soup first and the waitress brought the salad first and said the onion soup was coming. At least 15 minutes later, she said the onion soup was just put into the oven for browning. My main course, New York Strip steak, rice and au'gratin cheese potatoes came after a delay. I cannot tell you what it was like. The steak was a ridicoulous representative for a strip steak and it was cold. tough and not rare like I had ordered. The rice was dry and chewy, it was served plain. I sent the entire dinner back and the manager brought out a replacement, apologized and said he would take it off the bill. The replacement steak still was not a good representation of a strip steak. It was no more than 1/4" thick (supposedly a 10 oz. steak). It also was on the tough side. My friend ordered a something like chicken sandwich with gravy. He also said it was cold. Very dissatisfied with our visit. I think they need to replace the cook and change the food items to better tasting representations. read more

Been a long time since I reviewed this. Been a long time since I came here. Ever since they discontinued those killer chocolate muffins, in fact. Those were the added inducement to get me to choose Mimi's over competing restaurants. Supposedly this place is inspired by French cuisine. I think that's a bit of a stretch, though they do try to create a French bistro ambiance. Menu is sandwiches (including "French dip", so it must be French...right?), quiche (which real men don't eat ;-), pasta, pot pies, and some other stuff. Despite my sarcasm, the food is pretty good. If you're trying to choose between big casual chains like Chili's and Applebee's and Marie Callender's, well Mimi's should be on your radar. It's at least as good as any of those. Soups are good, French dip is good, burgers are good. It's all solidly three-stars. On this occasion I had an off-menu special item: baked penne and meatballs. It was nothing fancy, but I liked it. Other folks in our party all seemed to like their choices. If only they still had those decadent chocolate muffins... read more

As an Americanized French cafe, it's not bad, but my time in Paris ruined me for life when it comes to restaurants that attempt to be authentically French. The turkey and Brie melt concept was great, but with only one slice of Brie and a smaller than expected portion size, I was a little disappointed with the execution. Taste was good, but at the risk of sounding like a snob, it really didn't compare to Parisian cafe fare. My advice? Trim down the menu substantially to focus more on a few items and get fresher ingredients if you're going to imitate the French cafe experience. read more
