We had breakfast at Mimi's in Torrance this morning. Plenty of parking, excellent service but ok food. Coffee is good but pricy at $4.50 per cup. Table was sticky - the container that held the various sugar packets had to be pried off the table. Table was missing place setting. My husband ordered a bacon and vegetable omelette but the bacon was outside of the omelette. Don't ask for salsa - it was sweet. With a little tweak, it would have been much better. read more

This is a gem - delicious comfort Food in a cozy atmosphere. They serve breakfast all day and the omelettes are my favorite. They also sell drinks ( mimosas , mojitos etc ) if that's your thing . I have come to Mimi's for years and always love to go home with one of their muffins - delish. There's Plenty of parking making it super convenient. Nice spot for a good sit down breakfast! You'll notice the old-towne style red building the moment you enter the parking lot. Love the building, and the interior decoration is lovely! To start while looking at the menu, we ordered cappuccinos, but the machine was broken. We got coffee and tea instead, with two waters (one with no ice). The server returned with two waters with ice. I didn't make a deal of it. She was kind and had a warmth to her. We ordered the avocado croissant sandwich and the crabcake benedict (with fried egg whites instead of poached eggs). The avocado sandwich was AMAZING, and the potatoes were SCRUPTIOUS! However, the crabcake benedict was topped with fried whole eggs (not eggwhites). I didn't send the plate back, because the server was kind. The crabcake was delicious, and also served with the same yummy potatoes as the avocado sandwich. It's a lovely atmosphere and cute spot, but it seems that making any modification to your order won't be acknowledged. So if you plan to order, just order everything as is to avoid the hassle of not getting what you want. I'd still return if I was in the area. Delicious food read more

Service was slow due to only one waitress in entire place. Chicken pot pie was bad - tasted like creamy soup with not much taste, and price of $18 is exorbitant. Jambalaya was good. Much of the furniture in dining room is worn out. read more

I LOVE me some Mini's Cafe! Them Muffins are Yum, Yum, Yummy! And food comes pretty fast and still warm! I've had places where food comes and it be cold! Not here! They know how to take care of their customers! Kind of reminds me of a County setting! Go check it out! Yum! read more

Three bad meals in a row. Considering I drive 20-45 minutes each way because I've enjoyed their food, this could be the final straw. My last three meals here were rushed as if there was a fire in the building. First time my appetizer was brought out less than a minute before my hot main course. When I inquired the witness said, "We don't control how fast your meal is cooked." The meal, by the way, was cold. Second time I ordered the turkey dinner with a dinner salad before my meal. The waitress brought the salad and, thirty seconds later, the server brought my turkey. I passed my salad until I finished the turkey. And let me add the mashed potatoes that accompanied the turkey was hard enough to hold a sword blade down. I did t eat the potatoes, told the waitress and nothing was done to make it right. But this last meal was terrible. The salad came with wilted stale lettuce and it was flooded in dressing. I had to shove the dressing aside to see the old leaves. As I began to eat my salad the server again rushed me with my turkey dinner. So I put the salad aside and began eating the turkey. The mashed potatoes were again very hard and cold. The "stuffing" that accompanied the turkey was brick of hard glue like debris that was probably left over from driveway cement. I tried eating it and had to cut it with a knife. I left almost all the stuffing and potatoes and just ate the turkey (which was also cold). There is no excuse for serving food of negative quality. I don't consider Mimi's to be fine dining, however, I expect a lot better than my last three meals. The quality of their meals in my opinion has diminished over the last few years. And so has the attentiveness of the wait staff who seem oblivious to rushing deals. All in all I will probably go back if I'm in the area, but I'm not making the long drive there again just for a meal. read more

The server spent a long time on the telephone speaking to a person with the speaker phone having the personal conversation. Not a good practice for business. Her voice was louder than the music. Train this young lady. Give her some etiquette. She is a Spanish server. I have no idea if she knows that phone calls are left for the back room and not in front of paying customers read more

Pot pie is always comforting. Added a house salad which was of very good size. Our waitress, Zeudi, was on top of everything.

Food was great but service was extremely extremely slow. Ambiance was also excellent, came in during a sleepy Sunday afternoon which also made it odd that the service was so spotty. Super nice but not attentive. xoxo read more

I love the desserts at Mimis, none of the choices ever doesn't disappoint! My usual favorite is the apple crisp crumble but today I tried the butter toffee cake and it was to die for. Mimi's Cafe has been always a "go-to" restaurant. I don't see the crowds that were here before the pandemic, however, the food is still tasty. The food's quality and taste is still in tact. For breakfast, I ordered my usual Belgium waffles, eggs and bacon. I specified the bacon to be crispy. They did not disappoint. The waiter took my order and it was fulfilled without an issue. There are new monitors that show current meals on the menu, etc. The dining room needs a little re-modeling. However, overall, a nice place to dine. read more

My first time to a Mimis Cafe! I loved the Potato Benedict was amazing and a fresh spin on my favorite breakfast dish. The Chicken Cordon Bleu was recently added to the menu but I didn't get it even though it looked delectable. The butter toffee cake was PERFECT! Ana Chan was a wonderful server, sweet patient and attentive without being bothersome.
