Taking all the moms out for Mother's Day brunch today made reservations got seated right away. Nice table service as always was great. The menu has so much to choose from we ordered our food. Everything was as ordered. Very good. Well cooked nice setting nice and clean. Cool little bar area. This is a great place for breakfast lunch or dinner. See you next time.

We ate here on Thanksgiving morning after our Turkey Trot and were absolutely starving. Lol We originally sat outside because we had our fur baby, Louie with us, but my husband and daughter started getting bitten by mosquitoes. The restaurant was very accommodating and quickly moved us inside, which we really appreciated. This isn't just our Thanksgiving tradition -- it's one of our weekly go-to spots. Whether it's breakfast on the weekends or a comforting meal during the week, we always find ourselves coming back. And if my husband isn't cooking a turkey at home for the holiday, we order their family feast (about $200 and serves 8-10 people). We truly love this place. It's consistent, comforting, and always hits the spot.

I've known about this place for decades - but never been - and went through an on-again, off-again curious bout. And then one day, here I was! I was running a few errands with Mom and tagging along with us was the pup. I called to make sure they allowed dogs at their outdoor patio which they confirmed. Came through for a late lunch (Saturday) and were seated immediately. Menus were given to us as well. Tons of choices, but it eventually came down to the French onion soup and the smoked tuna Benedict. FRENCH ONION SOUP: Fantastic! Served hot, cheese was properly melted and there was depth in the broth. Even bites off the broth soaked bread was yum! Off to a good start! SMOKED SALMON BENEDICT: Egg was perfectly poached. Salmon was... cooked. I guess I was expecting fresh sliced sushi-type salmon slices, but no biggie. I figure this is how they prepped it here. And because it was cooked, gone was that familiar smoked aroma. Hollandaise sauce was watery. Put them all together along with a piece of the muffin, capers and onions and honestly, lacked flavor. There was very little seasoning with each bite I took. A bit of salt and pepper might have helped, but our server never came back to check on us. I could have used a refill with my drink as well as ketchup and hot sauce for my potatoes (cooked great, I'll admit) but again, our server was nowhere to be found. She only reappeared to give us the tab. I asked Mom how her chicken pot pie was and like my dish, hers, too, was bland and lacked a lot of flavor. Again, there were no condiments available so... we liked the concept of the flat bread on top, though. Sadly, it didn't make up for the overall taste. FOOD: 3 (but closer to a 2.75, really. The soup was the saving grace.) SERVICE: 3. Only because our server was really nice and friendly, but has lots of room for improvement. VALUE: 3. PARKING: Shared private lot. Huge. Not an issue. OVERALL: 3. Glad I finally got the chance to make a stop. Definitely not a one-and -done, but not sure if I'd return anytime soon.

I always love going to Mimi's. It's always a delicious little escape from the world, and this time was just as delicious. Before, I get into my review If the food, I wanted to clarify why u gave this restaurant 4 stars. I ordered a dozen muffins to go. I asked for half pumpkin and half carrot raisin. When I got home, I realized that instead of carrot raisin, the waitress packed blueberry in the box instead. These muffins are a bit on the pricier side, so I was disappointed, but I didn't have time to drive back to exchange them. The food I ate at the restaurant was delicious and fresh. I wanted something light so I had an egg white veggie omelette with a cappuccino. The omelette came with a muffin, so I ordered the pumpkin muffin and it was delicious. My son ended up eating up more than half because it was so good. The cappuccino was also delightful and paid very well with the muffin. I will still go back to Mimi's, and make sure my to go orders are right before I drive home.

Amazing portion, I had the French Quarter burger. It was very filling and delicious! I would definitely try it out again. The fries were nice and crispy. For dessert I had the Mimi's bread pudding. Both were delicious. The service was great, Abril is a great employee who was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anybody near by.

Miguel, the General Manager has been extraordinary to work with! We contacted him to reserve the side patio for an event. He and is amazing staff were accommodating, provided excellent service, the food was delicious and you couldn't beat the price per person for a wonderful sit down plated lunch with beverages, a starter, entree and even dessert! We were able to decorate in a timely manner and cannot say enough about the wonderful service and experience!! We highly recommend you booking your next lunch or dinner party for any occasion at Mimi's

Mimi's has always been a go to place for good food. There's been many restaurant openings in the area so there's much more competition and I noticed their parking lot hasn't been filled like it used to be. Regardless we went because they have the best corn chowder which I ordered with the carrot raisin Madeline's. Hubby had an omelette for dinner and we both loved our meals. The menu has changed with very few pasta choices but still a good variety. Service is excellent.

Perfect spot for fresh quality food and coffee. I ordered eggs, bacon and a muffin; with coffee. The food was delicious. The service was amazing. Passed by a few Mimi restaurants around LA/Orange county so decided to give it a try. Came by for a weekend breakfast. Wasn't busy. Service was pretty quick and friendly. They came by and checked on us a few times and front staff said goodbye as we left Rich was nice. The restaurant looked clean and wasn't noisy. Tried a couple of dishes. The Mimi's Brunch Trio is a great place to start if it's your first time there. You get a waffle, stuffed french toast, and pancake with side of eggs bacon. This way you can try all 3 and see which you like best. For me it was the french toast. The quiche lorraine with potatoes was okay. The chicken for the chicken and waffles were more like chicken tenders but tasted fine. They also have some lunch deals so might try those in the future.

A place to go for Home-cooked meal, slow cooked roast. I tried the French Pot Roast and could taste the wine in it. It was decent and large portion for me. I didn't realize it'll be poured over the mash potato (so ask for it on the side, if you don't want it co-mingling together). It came with French bread that was tastier than the ones provided by CPK. The French onion soup was OK but SALTY for me. If they could find a couple home cooked dishes NO other restaurant makes well enough, like chicken cacciatore or chicken marsala. It will do well with the other roast dishes to draw back a crowd. Service was a bit slow, seems understaff but the Workers are really nice. Don't go there hungry is my recommendation. This is a good place for groups to get together without a huge rush at the moment. There's lots of parking and the restaurant is large enough for a family. Restaurant seems a bit dated, could use an update. read more

If I had eaten this dining in, I'd probably be more disappointed and rate it lower. The flavors just weren't there.

Fromage: Like Marine Crepe, the buckwheat out layer was soft. The mild brie cheese provided pleasant creaminess to the filling. Not pictured were the Shanghai rice cakes with pork, which did have a nice chew and flavor. However, what was lacking in flavor was made up for in service. Our server Henry was kind, attentive, and funny. Probably one of my favorite servers ever. The ambience was nice as well.

I've been here many times. Not by my choice however. The latest a few Sundays back with some family members. At 2:00PM the place was packed. However as usual with many of my latest dining adventures I felt I was stuck in the land that time forgot. Do the retirement communities in PV have frequent bus trips here or what? Because it was definitely a favorite of the over 60 crowd although there were a few younger stragglers seated throughout. We requested an outdoor table although a bit chilly and the view of Macaroni Grill and Rubios directly across Crenshaw Blvd seemed apealing. I just don't get off on breathing the fumes from all the cars stuck in traffic there, but when dining with chain smokers I guess you make due. Nothing like the buzz of cars and city busses 10 feet away for a great dining experience right. There were only 2 of the 6 outdoor tables occupied when we arrived, yet the staff insisted that it would be at least a 10 minute wait due to lack of servers. Well after about 5 minutes of waiting while guzzling their complimentary fruit punch (me nursing a major hangover) and others drinking the complimentary coffee I said fuck this and led our party outside to seat ourselves. FWIW, although there were apparently complimentary muffins, danishes and beverages for those waiting to be seated, the baked goods were long gone with no look of replacement and there were no stryofoam cups to drink the punch and coffee. I fixed that shit fast by going to the counter and demanding cups for all much to the delight of other waiting patrons. While seated outside the service was poor and slow. Waitress gets changed in the middle of the meal by another who apparently had a hearing impairment being I didn't get the extras that I ordered with my "Beef Dip Sandwich" meal. They all looked like and were as slow as Manatees out of water. One family member ordered the Eggs Benedict, which she seemed to thoroughly enjoy and the other ordered an Omlette that she licked the platter clean. I took half my meal home with me which ended up being fine for dinner later. Now this place used to offer a great variety of never ending baskets of sweet carrot bread, muffins and french bread, but on this trip we almost had to beg for it, and a measly piss poor version with no repeat we got. I couldn't wait to leave and would certainly give this place only 2 stars, but my company did enjoy themselves and although the waitresses insisted they couldn't smoke or have an ashtray, finally relented and gave them one. They enjoy this place, I don't!! The fact that it has a full bar to help numb my senses got the place 3 stars. And to top it of the parking sucks being shared with Circuit City, Kohl's among others. Take a pass on this joint. Denny's is far superior IMO. read more

I came into Mimi's Cafe to do some paperwork and enjoy some breakfast. I did wait a bit long to be acknowledged and seated but my waitress Joanna and the other waitress jamie both came up right away to get me seated. I sat in the back room where it was nice and quiet for me to do some paperwork. Joanna quickly greeted me again and grabbed me my water with lemon. I was a bit indecisive on what to order but Joanna recommended the two egg dish. I am extremely pleased with how efficient Joanna is, I asked her to bring my blueberry muffin and a cup with hot water all together with my food. She came out with my food nice and hot, my muffin and my hot water all in one trip. I usually have to wait for the waiter to come back with one or both of the things. The food was absolutely delicious, hot and fresh. I enjoyed being able to sit, relax and finish my paper work without feeling rushed. Here is where Joanna really showed her amazing personality, as I was on my way out she opened the door for me, so not only did her and jamie rush to seat me, she waited on me and opened the door to say bye and hope to see me soon with a huge smile. Had breakfast there yesterday (Wednesday.) Had better service on weekends (and that's not saying much) since at least they use all the tables. The food's just ok. Main complaint is with wait staff and especially wait time to be seated -HORRIBLE!!!! They are busier on weekends so waiting 15-20 mins understandable, but 20 mins on a weekday (LOTS OF PEOPLE WAITING IN LOBBY WITH US) is not acceptable, when over 1/3 of the total tables were EMPTY (I did a walkthrough of both seating areas.) Wait staff running around so it looked like not enough staff to cover all the tables? Mgr needs to hire more staff! Server did not identify herself and quickly asked what we wanted to drink? We also gave order before she ran off, not knowing when she'd be back. After a 15 min wait after order placed our meal served. MINE WAS WRONG. I tried to flag down our server and finally got her attention, pointed out the error, she ran back to kitchen and in LESS THAN ONE MINUTE brought out correct order, without an apology, then ran off. As soon as we came in and saw how empty the restaurant was we thought maybe it was closes but then we proceeded to walk in further and was told to just have a seat. So we sat in a booth we were not greeted at all. It took a while to get any service. I must say I was very disappointed with the lack of good friendly customer service. There were only three customers so my expectation was that the service would be excellent it was far from that. Once we waited for a while someone finally came by with menus ...it was all downhill from the moment we were in. Not once did anyone come by to ask how we were doing or if we needed a refill etc...I honestly felt I was a bother for trying to flag someone down to ask them for something. Not a good dining experience at all. I don't think I will be returning. The food itself was ok. The appetizer trio was not worth the price it was flavorless. The baked potato did not look tasty it was dry once I tried it. (I got the fully loaded one). Done with this restaurant. read more

This is my favorite restaurant. The food is great. But today I decided to try their quiche combination. After a few bites of the quiche, I didn't like it, there was no flavor to it at all. So I just eat on the salad. When the waitress came by I told her I did not like the quiche so she said she would tell her manager, Anna. Well the waitress came back and said the manager was busy so they just took the meal off my bill. Now I was never asked did I want something else in exchange for the quiche and Anna never came out to talk to me. This is not how Mimi's usually treat there customers. Also, they only have 4 desserts on the menu, none of which includes the bread pudding they use to have; another big disappointment. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mimi's Cafe in Torrance, and I must say, the experience was exceptional! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server, Amy, was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. What truly impressed me was when the manager came over to introduce herself, adding a personal touch that made us feel valued as customers. I have not been to Mimis in like 2 years and the menu has change, at first we weren't sure if we were going to stay but I have to give credit to our server she was so funny that just to hear what would come out of her mouth next we stayed, the food was so tasty and I mean it was amazing, we started with that trio appetizer and she persuade us to try the Glazed Salmon and it was just so flavorful. It had been a while since I last dined at Mimi's Cafe, and I have to admit, I had forgotten just how good their food is. The French Pot Roast was a standout dish that reminded me why I love with Mimi's in the first place. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the gravy was simply divine. It was a comforting and satisfying dish that hit all the right notes. The Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, meanwhile, was an absolute delight. I made a review to the wrong restaurant@ los Feliz but it's actually this. Restaurant just want to say thank you to the Manager Ramiro. My mom and I went there to get information on their private room. My mom bombarded him with a million questions he did not show a sign of frustration. He was very patient he answer all of our questions in a timely manner thank you very much for that. And we actually reserve their private room for dec 13 it's very nice and fancy. We loved it. We had the best customer service today from Millie and Cervantes. She was so attentive and had the best advice on foods. She told us how good the cinnamon apple muffins were and we decided to try it, my goodness! She wasn't lying it was the most delicious muffins I have ever tasted. Not only was our food and service excellent, but ambiance was just perfect and everything was clean and just beautiful. I hadn't been to this restaurant in well over ten years after hearing that it had gone downhill, but I decided to give it another try tonight after hearing some positive buzz--and I'm glad I did. The food was excellent, fresh, and full of flavor, and the service was attentive and friendly from start to finish. It's clear that the restaurant has made real improvements, and it feels like it's back to the quality and consistency it once had. Dining at Mimi's Café in Torrance is always a treat, but what really made our visit special was our server, Zeudi. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Zeudi has a natural way of connecting with people -- she's patient, professional, and truly cares about her guests' experience. came here for my parents 25th anniversary &we had our own room & servers. They gave us a separate menu which was not what we expected. We had nephews & nieces come to the dinner also & all they served was the large chicken pasta entree's. There were 5 different things on the menu so no variety at all. Server's were nice but wouldn't come here again, especially for planning an event. If we knew they were going to be giving us separate menu's we would have picked another place for variety. read more

I have been to Mimis a number of times now. The decor is French Cafe style.The food is always good and is consistent. The french onion soup is really yummy! They have a lunch special which is really good value. Also if you register with them via the internet they send you a free breakfast voucher (Print this out yourself) It has a short validity so make sure you are going to be able to use it before you register.I have been to 2 different ones in the LA area and both have been great. read more
