The food looks so good... But I should know to always trust Yelp... I should know that by now! But I tried this place with a 3.5 star rating anyway.. the food came out.. entrees about 15 mins apart...which is a long time in dinner time. The food looked so good... but seriously lacked any flavor whatsoever. The shrimp tasted like they thawed it out and threw it in my soup bowl... which I'm sure they did.. but everything else tasted like that as well. Every time I've gone here during the evening on a weekday I usually order takeout they're super busy! The staff are always super nice and helpful and give my son and I free drinks while we wait for our food. I easily spend $60+ every time I eat here, so the wait is worth it. I always order off the dim sum menu. The building could use some updates but since they've gotten busier they're definitely understaffed so I know that has taken first priority. I've been coming to this restaurant since I was 9, so about 15+ years and have never noticed a change in the quality of their food as it comes out a perfect 10/10 every time. This is the ONLY place in NM where you get authentic dim sum. Everywhere else tastes like it came out of a Costco bag so I'm always more than happy to wait for my food; and note that if you feel the food isn't up to par, it's just an off day for them because this restaurant and the owner are fantastic and will always make it right. read more

Our second venture into dim sum here in ABQ, and still underwhelmed. We ordered most of our usuals, although they don't have turnip cakes on the menu (sad) and were out of the taro dumplings today. Things we'd order again: sticky rice, har gow, BBQ pork pies, and maybe the steamed BBQ pork buns. Most of the baked items felt a little stale or like they'd been reheated from frozen, and the shu mai and shrimp rice noodles were definite misses. Compared to IT, the only other place we've tried dim sum here, it tastes more authentic here BUT the quality isn't necessarily any better. read more

Omg it was so yummy!!! I cannot wait to come up with a reason to go back. My honey had the sizzling beef which was pretty good- I had a few bites, but I stay away from gluten as much as I can, to prevent digestive upset. I had heard this place had gluten-free, so I asked for a GF menu when we went it. The owner? Told me they were all mixed in on the regular menu. I asked for a dim sum menu, and the gentleman stood there to show me each item that is gluten free. He also told me I couldn't eat Shane's because the soy sauce has gluten! He knew, and wanted to make sure I didn't eat something that would cause me issues. He was SO kind. I got the shrimp dim sum in rice wrappers, and holy mother of Asian cuisine were they amazing. I am newly in love! They may be a bit sticky for some people but I loved them. The shrimp had good flavor (especially the shrimp with leeks ) and they were hot and perfect for a cold night. I came to albq for work and have been craving authentic Chinese food. This place is the answer!! I only ordered the dim sum and was not disappointed. Service was great! Nice old man made sure everything was excellent and gave me a warm towel post meal! FOOD Chicken feet-flavor was there texture was a little off compared to other places. I did appreciate how they cut it in half easier to eat! Har gow-good and piping hot! Horn sui gok- one of my favorites and did not disappoint. Great fried crust and delicious flavorful meat filling on the inside! Shrimp rice noodles- super good and love the sweet soy sauce they put on top Beef rice noodles- definitely get more beef than shrimp, the beef didn't have a lot of flavor though. Shrimp+scallop dumpling- very good super hot as well, I prefer har gow but this was a good switch up! Baked BBQ pork bun- super good only reservation is these seemed to be reheated by steam did not have a crispy exterior, but flavor and fluffiness of the bun was there! Mediocre Dim Sim. Being that I go back-and-forth to CA on a regular basis, it's an unfair comparison. The dim sum here appears to be frozen, and prepared on-demand, as they come out as your order rather than in the traditional dim sum carts. We didn't order, but the regular menu items did look more appetizing. The potstickers are the frozen ones you get from the Asian market, not the traditional breaded and doughy ones. We sent the siew mai back, as it was plain gross. The puff pastry with bbq were decent, as well as thr bbq pork buns. Will have to try again with the regular menu items, but in the meantime based on the dim sum, it only gets two stars. read more

Fabulous food at very reasonable prices! The dim sum menu is diverse and has something for everyone. The regular Chinese menu has everything you'd expect. All of the food is of the highest quality and is served by staff who seem sincerely happy to have you there. I think it's the best Chinese option in Albuquerque! read more

Having been born and raised in New York City and regularly eating dim sum there, San Francisco and Toronto, I was afraid I'd terribly miss dim sum when I moved to Albuquerque in 2022. Our family, though, found comfort in the variety of dim sum we found here, seeing the push cart filled with dim sum at our table and hearing our native Cantonese spoken. To be honest, the quality wasn't the same as the big cities but we've learned that coming on the weekend, when they've first opened, is the best time to get dim sum. We were here 2 Sundays ago, and not sure if they had a new chef, but it was the best we'd had. I travel to New York again in a few weeks and traditionally, I've brought dim sum home. No need to anymore. The dim sum at Ming Dynasty is great, service is attentive, our grandsons love variety and it will continue to be a regular choice for our family. read more

Quite surprising to find good dim sum this far inland. I ordered simple, 'gateway' dumplings--shu mai/har gow/pork bao/and a few others--shying away from the more exotic offerings because I was dining with a couple of tenderfoots, and did not want to freak them out too bad. However, I did order myself a Ginger Beef Tripe, and it was very well prepared. The fellas loved it all, and lordy did we get stuffed. Wonderful, gracious service by the owners, and you should have seen my son's and friend's faces when they brought out hot hand towels at the end of the meal. Awesome. The dim sum is not great. The lotus sticky rice is spoiled and it had a sour taste to it. Must be super old, luckily that I didn't swallow it or else I would had food poisoning. The only good food item is chicken feet. I would not recommend this place for anyone and would not come back. Be aware and stay away if you can. read more

Though I've certainly had better dim sum outside of New Mexico, (coming from near Chinatown area in San Francisco, CA) this is a fair and un-biased review for the one and only spot currently dedicated to serving authentic dim sum around the 505. I guess it's a hit or miss depending on what you order from here, so I usually stick with the typical dishes I always get when I'm craving dim sum. 1. Har Gow (clear, steamed shrimp dumplings) 2. Shu Mai (steamed pork dumplings wrapped w/ wonton) 3. Fried Shrimp Ball (exactly like it's name, with noodle/wonton strips as coating) 4. Steamed Custard Buns (fluffy white buns w/ sweet egg custard filling) 5. Tau Hu Ky (shrimp paste wrapped in bean curd skin) Though sometimes served greasier than I'd like, they usually satisfy my craving. During lunch hours, they push the dim sum dishes around on tiny metal carts, a-la-carte style (like traditional dim sum places), but dim sum is available all day off the menu, made-to-order. You can even call in and place an order ahead or for pick-up. The staff here is great. They speak English and Vietnamese, and are really attentive. I even received a little heated towel to clean my hands after my meal. This gesture is akin to traditional Chinese restaurants I've visited in California. We are moving to ABQ soon and were in town scoping out the neighborhoods. We were really looking forward to having dim sum and finding a place we could take our families when they come visit. Boy, were we disappointed coming here. The service was nice, but the food was terrible! The soup dumplings had no soup in them, they were totally dry and deflated. The shrimp fun rolls were really thick and doughy. The shumai just tasted like it was microwaved. It'll take a lot of convincing for me to come back here. read more

Tried shrimp dumplings ha gow, sui mai pork dumplings, pork short ribs, and sticky rice with chicken. The only good thing was the sticky rice. I came here last night. A bit bummed I couldn't get dim sum but oh well. It is a nice place, and I will confirm this is more traditional style Chinese food. More traditional than most. I walked in, a quiet Thursday evening. Not many people in the restaurant. But near closing, which tends to see some business slow down. I sat down, a nice woman approached me and took my drink order and gave me a menu. Moments after she took my order, pot stickers and a bowl of wanton soup. I loved this soup because it was rich in vegetable stock, it was not super salted as most broths are. Most broths are not homemade. This was, and if I'm wrong I'll be damned. It was gentle yet full of flavor. The meat cuts in the soup were not overly flavored as well, quite delicious. I look forward to coming back soon. I suggest to others reading this to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed. I've been passing this place for a year now and am now kicking myself for doing so. read more

Was expecting it to be wonderful but it was so-so. The dim sum lacked flavor and spice. The dipping sauce was bland. Compared to other dim sum experiences, I felt like they could really spice up their flavors here and add some tastier dipping sauce choices. The carts going by with food choices already cooked was a fun experience but I think that's why it didn't taste as hot or fresh as made to order. This review is based solely off their Dim Sum. Traveling through California, you'll find a plethora of Dim Sum cuisine. For those that don't know, it's a Cantonese-based luncheon. Typically, Dim Sum has been served just for lunch, but recent years that market has expanded into dinnertime feasting. I say feasting, because we all know we can eat more at dinner... then regret swells in your stomach... and back pain ensues. That last one, maybe a personal problem. Mind dynasty is one of those places that you pass by on Eubank and go, "that's a green building", and you carry on with your life. Then you started noticing the big DIM SUM sign, then the "only place serving authentic dim sum" sign, and then you say, "ah what the hell I'll try it", and you're surprised. I do have to preface that for some reason the dim sum is only extremely excellent on the weekend-friday, Saturday, Sunday. It's decent throughout the week, but you get love in your food on the weekend. The siu mai is definitely home made. You can taste it! Their har gow is excellent, and the rice wrapped in lotus leaf, lo mai gai, is very traditional. I'm impressed with the consistency I find over the weekend cuisine. Since they have their carts in full swing, the service is quick and you're eating your luncheon in no time. I would highly recommend Ming Dynasty for their Dim Sum, but only for the weekend crowd for now. I do hope you guys bring in Baked BBQ pork buns. #26 for 2019 *NM DONUT KWEEN ADVENTURES* Today we tried #dimsum at Ming Dynasty on Eubank Blvd. In one of my pictures you will see a baked egg yolk bun. Its one of the desserts on the dim sum menu. The middle is filled with egg custard so chock full of #flavaflav it compliments the soft breading that surrounds it. The top is similar to a thin layer of coconut sugar cookie it has a crispness to it that goes perfectly with the other textures! Next Saturday Feb 9th starting at 11am Ming Dynasty will be celebrating 2019 Year of the Pig/Boar Chinese New Year! If you've never experienced it now would be a perfect year to start! To be fair...the only other Dim Sum experience I have had was in china town area of Seattle. I am glad I experienced this but don't think that I need to go again. There were a few dishes that I really liked (pork shumai? and spicy chicken feet). But the rest were less than good...the shrimp shumai were fishy and not in a good way. The employees were very nice and helpful and the carts came around constantly with many options. They will charge you for refills on coke. Maybe I am too critical because I don't really know what else to compare it to but I want to hope that there are better dim sum places in town. read more

Yikes. Not what i was expecting for the only dimsum restaraunt in all ABQ. Perhaps i had some pretty high hopes which just set the bar too high but i cant help it if i know what good dimsum should be. Let me put it this way... coming from El Paso where the only source of dimsum is frozen from Wholefoods which you will need to buy and steam yourself.... plus is considered subpar in dimsum standards.... that stuff still surpassed the so-called dimsum of Ming Dynasty. The fact that frozen dimsum from a Wholefoods store tastes wayyy better than what should be top notch from an actual restaraunt is sad. I feel some people who think the dimsum here is good need to go to CA. Specifically Orange County where i came from, and experience the closest thing to real dimsum if it isn't straight out of China itself. Im serious. I tried their har gow, shumai, sesame balls, that sticky rice stuff, and the shrimp and scallop dumplings. All were the blandest dimsum i ever tasted.
