Nothing fancy about Ming's but if you are looking for outstanding Chinese BBQ, Roast Pork, Crispy Pork and Roast Duck this is the place. I ordered 1/2 duck and a combination of 1/2 Crispy Duck and 1/2 Roast Pork Char Siu. Everything was outstanding. Also ordered a quart of Hot and Sour which was also excellent. For Authentic Chinese meats this is the place to go. I definitely will be back

They microwaved the combo plate before they brought it to my table.... Wwwwhhhhyyyy...I'd rather have eaten it at room temp, like how all the other places in the area serve it. There was ZERO crispy skin on any of my pieces, every one was soggy. The steamed rice was prepared well at probably 9am...but sitting out and come 2pm it was dry and oddly sticky...not even the chili oil , yau choi broth or the sauce the meat was wallowing around in could save it. The Yau Choi was already made and I'm pretty sure was just sitting in a bowl in the back, and was also microwaved before it hit my table. I say this, because while I was eating one of the cooks from the back brought out a big stainless bowl of steaming Yau Choi and left it behind the counter-no orders were taken and no one showed up while I was eating. Other than that, it was tasty in terms of flavor and how could you go wrong with garlic. The flavor of both meats were good, but both of them were dried out from sitting around and then being microwaved. So that was disappointing. They also have pretty good chili oil...so they have that going for them. From ordering to table...under 4 minutes. Maybe I came on an off day? Maybe I came too late for the lunch quality? Maybe they didn't think I would know any better? I do know that I will just go to Chinatown or Best BBQ in the future and leave this place for someone else.

We had the Peking Duck which was amazing! Excellent value and tasty dishes with enough for leftovers. The honey barbecue pork is always a favorite

You can only pay with cash or debit here. The food quality has decreased over time, but the service is still great. I occasionally order other dishes, but primarily come for the rice plates. My favorite is the roast duck and crispy pork over rice. The meats are nicely flavored and typically comes with crispy skin, but it's a hit or miss lately. Hopefully this will be more consistent again. Not bad overall.

Overall 5/5: Come here for all your childhood comfort food cravings. If you're ever in the mood for some traditional chinese barbecue this is the spot. It is fast, great portioned, and affordable! Food 5/5: It has been awhile since i've been here, and i was craving almost everything on the menu. My boyfriend talked me down to just picking three dishes. We got the bbq pork, soy chicken, and duck. All were super flavorful. Even the white rice was great. The veggies complement so well. Seriously so good, it was chopped up, plated, and brought over to us quick as it's already prepared. The portions were great, we were stuffed. We got all proteins served over rice, for $11 a plate (Dec 2022) it was definitely worth it. One dish i was wanting to try was the crispy pork, which i did go back and get. Also amazing. The worst part about this place is not being able to decide which one to get. This is a great place if you're wanting an affordable dinner that is quick and local. You can order the proteins by the pound to take home and eat with rice with the family. Service 5/5: Fast and very easy to order here. The cashier/server is quick and is sure to take care of you here. Parking 3/5: Located in Asian Square at the very back, there is a lot of construction. So there are a lot of blocks and holes, but there is plenty of parking. Just be cautious to avoid the holes. Vibes 5/5: It is cozy, clean, and warm inside. Most people do take out, so it is quiet inside if you do decide to dine in. Loved this place since i was young, and i'm happy to continue supporting this place to keep it in business! Thank you, Ming's BBQ!

This place is legit. As someone who's been to Hong Kong 4 or 5 times, I was craving some Cantonese BBQ, and their BBQ Pork (Cha Siu) really hit the spot. Their pork portion for the rice plate was very generous and came with complimentary cabbage. If you want to order side veggies, they have 3-4 options depending on the day (make sure to ask). The pork was so good that I ordered 1 pound to-go and asked to get the leaner cuts, which they honored. My friends tried the Roast Duck and Roast Pork and all of them commented that they really enjoyed it.

Small place but the service was quick! We ordered potstickers, chicken chow fun and ice coffee. Potstickers were just ok. I will probably never order it again. However the chicken chow fun and ice coffee was a HIT! Soooo good! Too bad I don't live locally or I would be here all the time just for the coffee.

I was craving some Chinese BBQ, and decided to pick some up from Ming's as my Thanksgiving feast. I ordered some crispy pork belly, Peking duck, char siu pork, and soy chicken. All items were very delicious! Pork belly had that perfectly crunch/crispy skin. All of the meats (even the pork belly) were moist and cooked just right. I was also given extremely generous portions, with all of my containers being stuffed to the brim. Staff can be very...assertive, but are overall friendly. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for delicious Chinese BBQ.

Family style meals? Legit Asian comfort food at a good price? I can't think of another place around Doraville that would fit this description. Ming's BBQ it is! I would consider Ming's to be semi-hole in the wall-ish. It's located in the VERY back of the shopping plaza with Mamak, Sweet Hut, and Quoc Huong. And they only accept cash or debit cards. But aren't these the best types of places if you want good food? So the honey roasted BBQ pork. Yes please. Salt and pepper squid. Beef Chow Fun. Braised Tofu (I usuallly don't like tofu). I really haven't had anything bad here yet. Portions are all sized appropriately and the prices are definitely reasonable. Food comes out fast. What's not to like? I mean they have roasted duck hanging in their window. Doesn't get more inviting and legit than that! I would definitely recommend Ming's (this location, not the Duluth location).

**Note: Mings BBQ accepts cash AND debit cards. The cashier visually checks the card to see if it says DEBIT on it, and, if it does, she'll accept the card for payment.** I wanted to go to a restaurant that was relatively Covid-19 safe and had good food that was not expensive. In my Yelp search, Mings showed up, so I took R along to get some Cantonese food. Today, at around 5:30 pm, we pulled into the large parking lot from Buford Highway. Uh oh! Parking lot construction blocked off vehicular traffic to the back of the shopping center, where Mings (and La Mei Zi) are located. I drove around the block and got to Mings by way of Shallowford Rd, and to the back side of the parking lot. I easily found a parking space because I think only two or three nearby businesses were open at the time. Mings is a small casual restaurant. Currently, it's only doing take out, so you can call in your order or you can order at the counter and wait for your food either in the waiting area inside or outside on the sidewalk. The employees wear face masks, and customers are required to wear masks too. It's up to customers to social distance from each other, and the customers are physically distanced from the employees through use of tables placed in front of the ordering counter where the register is, and the installation of plexiglass around the counter. This is a very busy restaurant, and the employees are very quick, to the point and efficient. You know it's real Cantonese food when you see a roasted pig and roasted ducks hanging and visible through the windows, and Mings is the real deal! The menu is very busy with so many selections and options. Cantonese cuisine is generally not spicy and includes dim sum and dishes that are roasted/bbq'd or have seafood. If I had to choose between having Cantonese or Sichuan food, I will almost always choose Cantonese. I quickly looked over the menu and saw that bbq ribs (Cantonese style) were available. Those are one of my favorites! R ordered the bbq pork rice plate and the "side greens." He asked the woman at the register what which greens were included, wondering if they were Chinese broccoli. The woman told him that it was bok choy, which is actually his preference. I ordered the bbq ribs and the side greens, but was told that they were out of the bbq ribs. The employee suggested the bbq pork, which has the same flavor but doesn't have bones. I looked at the menu again and then ordered the crispy roast pork rice plate and side greens. The man at the bbq station was getting our plates ready as soon as we ordered, he was so quick that our food was given to us already bagged by the time I started the payment process. Very quick service for the bbq'd food! I wanted to eat in the car while we still had hot food, knowing that the crispy roast pork could quickly lose its skin crispiness when left in a steamy take out container. I just backed up the car just a little farther from the restaurant. The crispy roast pork meat was flavorful. Most of the skin was still crispy. The employee did not skimp at all on the amount of food he placed into our take out containers. We both received generous portions of meat and white steamed rice. Apparently, a soy sauce was ladled onto the rice before the meat was place on top of the rice. I liked that the sauce wasn't at full soy sauce flavor strength, because that's just too salty for me, but this one was just right. Neither one of us was given bok choy, though. It was actually Chinese broccoli, as R had predicted. I tried a piece of R's bbq pork. It was good, but I liked the flavor of the crispy roast pork a lot more. If I were to be honest, I believe that the meals we got were enough for four "normal" eaters, but they didn't stand a chance against the both of us. Ok, I finished my entire meal, but R brought home a small amount of his food - enough for a snack later. Both of the meals cost me under $18 total. I wasn't charged for the side greens, maybe because they knew it wasn't bok choy(?). Quick, inexpensive and good tasting food is what I wanted tonight, and that's exactly what I got! For sure, I'll be returning to try other dishes.

There's roasted duck hanging in the front. I was a little intimidated at first, because the staff doesn't seem to speak fluent english and seemed aggressive. But, actually, they're quite friendly and really take care of you. Their prices are great to the quality and quantity of food. I ordered the soy chicken with noodle soup, and the chicken was flavorful and tender. It has bones though, so watch out. $- Make sure to bring Cash or Debit as they do not accept credit cards!

I've been a long time fan of Ming's BBQ in Duluth and just recently realized this one existed towards the back of Asian Square...lol. Parking: OK. Ming's shares its parking area with the entire plaza. The location neighbors other restaurants like La Mei Zi so it can be tight during peak hours. The Doraville menu is slightly limited compared to Duluth's. This is totally understandable as this location is about half the size and not as well-known. I mainly visit Ming's BBQ for their crispy roast pork and honey bbq pork. Both are always delicious!! Service: Great! Staff is mainly quick on their feet. Food is served in a reasonable amount of time. The location is a bit dated and small, but the prices are reasonable and the food is pretty good! I highly recommend Ming's over BBQ Corner located a couple of shops down. I'll be back soon!

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

When we arrived, I realized the location used to be the old Hong Kong Supermarket -- only longtime locals would probably remember that. The layout inside was pretty interesting. There was a Te'amos milk tea shop in the middle, Lao Szechuan on the right, and the hot pot & BBQ restaurant on the left. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly helped us get seated. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. The food came out surprisingly fast, and they even used robots to deliver dishes to the table, which was smooth and efficient. For hot pot, my personal favorites were the fatty beef slices, lamb, beef tripe, black tripe, tofu skin rolls, squid flowers, enoki mushrooms, corn, lotus root slices, kelp knots, fish balls, and beef tendon balls. Everything tasted great with the broth and my favorite sesame dipping sauce. On the BBQ side, the standout items for me were the cumin lamb, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, short ribs, and squid. We weren't exactly BBQ experts, so some meats weren't cooked perfectly, but the flavor was still really enjoyable -- and the best part was that you could keep ordering as much as you wanted. Honestly, for around $40 per person, it felt like a very good value. My parents both thought it was worth the price. We left full and satisfied, and the service was always attentive whenever we needed something. We ordered pan fried buns and instead received Chinese donuts in the bag :( I didn't realize it until we got home, but I never had an issue with this place so it didn't occur to me that they prepared (or packed?) the wrong thing. If I ever return, I'll know to do better than expect the correct order and check everything before heading out. The crab rangoon was still flavorful but whatever dough they wrapped it with this time was so freaking tough that it cut the top of my mouth. My jaw should not get a workout from eating crab rangoon of all things. Another disappointment in the bag. But the beef entree we ordered was good, yet overshadowed by the other letdowns of the night's visit given that I can't really remember what exactly we ate. It's hard to look past a server comfortably coughing into their hand and proceeding to handle multiple patrons' plates and orders without as much of a squirt of sanitizer. I will say though they are quite dedicated to the customer. As I was sitting in the parking lot waiting 10-15min for my order to finish, someone clearly forgot their food and the same hacking server ran out to give it to them. Oh wait! Turns out that was actually our food being jostled around as he ran through the parking lot searching for the owner. I was watching the time and planned on returning but maybe I wasn't moving fast enough for this guy lol. He did all that just for the order to be wrong.... Damn bro. I prayed he didn't box the food. I guess we didn't come on a good day? I really don't know what happened but the entire experience was off. Based on the night's events, I don't know if I'll return. No pictures this time... Best dishes (the reasons to come) 1) Salt and pepper squid This one was excellent. Super satisfying and well executed. 2) Dried chow fun with beef Also a standout. Great texture and temperature, well seasoned, and the ingredients felt evenly distributed instead of clumped or uneven. This dish was done right. 3) Eggplant in a small pot Served in a small pot that keeps it warm for a long time, which makes a big difference. There's a lot of sauce, but you can reduce how salty it tastes by how you scoop and serve it. Comforting and flavorful. If you ordered just these three, you'd already have a great meal. Other dishes (good, not amazing) Coconut shrimp The shrimp itself was cooked well, and I appreciated the broccoli on the side to balance the heaviness. The issue was the sauce: way too much. It got soggy fast and leaned too sweet and too salty. Next time, I'd ask for the sauce on the side so you can control it. We also tried a vegetable dish and a fish dish. Both were decent, but not particularly memorable. Tea They serve tea if you order it. The chrysanthemum tea was pretty good, and I liked that it was loose leaf. Atmosphere and service We went around 2:30 to 3:00 pm, so it wasn't crowded. The vibe felt very local and family friendly. It's an older building, but clean enough and inviting. Service was great, and it seemed even smoother if you have someone in your group who can speak Cantonese. Would I return? Yes. I'd come back, especially for the salt and pepper squid, dried chow fun with beef, and the eggplant pot.

Get yourself nothing else but the CB3 Combo (JJA JJANG MYUN & JAMBONG W/ SWEET & SOUR PORK COMBO) - cuz IYKYK. Jjajangmyun bowl was as wide as a tire - slurp up the noodles and all that sauce cuz the taste is so damn good. Yes, the juices might wind-up on your face cuz you going down-down on it good like that, but who doesn't bask in wet, juicy glory like that, just wipe the collateral-damage off. Jjambong had the haemul (seafood) overflowing like the organ between my loins, but damn - what a bounty of seafood. Squid was also sitting up top like the jjambong bowls back in Korea. Broth was good, noodles were green - brb, throwing my glasses at the wall out of pure joy and disbelief at how damn good it was. Tangsuyuk? oh my word - just the right amount of crisp. Not so damn deep-fried like other places to the point of when you put it in your mouth, it scratches the skin off the roof of your mouth and cheek-walls like a blue-dolphin does (iiykyk). Just the perfect ratio of frying AND pork - I just rabidly shoved the whole piece in to my mouth, so damn good. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being top, I rate this place a 15, definitely coming back here, and you should too. Jinjja!

Being able to see into the kitchen while the food was being prepared added a sense of trust and transparency, which I appreciated. The service was very good. The staff checked on us regularly and brought what we needed quickly. Everyone was friendly and attentive. As for the food, I usually tend to be fairly generous in my ratings, but on the day I visited, the dishes were noticeably salty. The seafood noodle soup, jajangmyeon, and fried rice were all saltier than expected. I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but this part was a bit disappointing. That said, the overall experience was still decent, and I hope the seasoning is more balanced on my next visit.

Prices have increased since my last visit (of course), but they're still quite reasonable. The service is exceptional! We always enjoy chatting with Jojo and Chloe when we're there. These two ladies are incredibly friendly and helpful. My parents visit so frequently that Jojo already knows their orders without them having to say a word lol. You never have to wait long; our orders come out one dish after another very quickly. Our go to orders: * Chow Quay Teow * Fish Fillet * Kari Fish Fillet * Salt & Pepper Squid * Hainanese Chicken + Chicken Rice!! * Salt & Pepper Tofu * Stir Fried Okra in Garlic TBH you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Highly recommend.

We decided to try Mamak after our 1st option was BOOKED and busy for Cinco ... EXCELLENT choice. Since it was both our first time, we ordered an assortment of items including the puffs, spring rolls, egg noodles, roti and our entrees. My tofu and veggie dish was flavorful with a hint of spice. My friend ordered the glass noodles with chicken and shrimp. Great service. Absolutely locally patronized - always a good sign - and a range of options. Loved this for my first time having Malaysian food !

While you place your order at a kiosk, they're available to help and answer any questions. I ordered a noodle dish, and it was fantastic. The beef was incredibly tender--almost melt-in-your-mouth tender. It had a crispy exterior while remaining moist inside. The noodles had a great texture, and the sauce was very flavorful. I especially enjoyed the vegetables mixed in, including the bok choy, which was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. They also had a hot sauce available, though the container looked a bit dirty and could've used a wipe-down. Out of an abundance of caution, I only tried a small amount. Still, the dish overall was excellent, and I'd definitely return to try more items.

We ordered steamed pork and chive dumplings to share, Thai fried rice with ham, and a beef noodle dish (I can't remember the name). Everything was very delicious and extremely affordable! I think we paid approx $40 including taxes and tip. This is a perfect place to grab a quick bite, then go next door for dessert. We'll definitely be back.
