This is not a good place! I ordered pork fried rice and the salt and pepper chicken wings. It was really weak flavored rice, but some sweet texture, so overall it felt good in my mouth but tasted awful. It reminded me of something else but I couldn't remember. Salt and pepper wings usually are flash fried and seasoned with garlic and green onions. These were battered and just had some green onions tossed on top. Granted it was super cheap! After tip it was something like $14. I still think there's better spots to eat this stuff. read more

We heard mixed things about this restaurant, and saw that it was closed for quite a while, but when we saw that it had reopened, we decided to give it a try. We've been there twice so far and... well, it's not terrible, but it has problems. The good news is that their sweet and sour chicken and salt and pepper wings are excellent, highly recommended. The bad news: other items are so-so. Also, everything on the menu is $1 to $3 more than it should be, given that they charge extra for rice (something I've only ever encountered in Fresno). The worst, though, is their BBQ ribs, which are about $8 but literally inedible. While other Chinese food restaurants serve their BBQ ribs either on-the-bone as "finger food", or more often, by simply cooking thin strips of boneless rib meat in sauce, Ming's does something very strange. They cube the ribs into tiny, bite-sizes pieces, but leave the bones in. In other words, if you pick up a bite-sized cube of rib-meat and pop it in your mouth, prepare to choke. Literally the only way to eat them is to pick up each tiny cube with your fingers and gnaw around the bone (which, because of how the cubes are cut, are very small and often broken into jagged shards). Very strange and not very appetizing. Again, though, the sweet and sour chicken is quite good. read more

The setting is a bit bland and uninspired, but it's not an eyesore. I repeatedly get the pork fried rice and shrimp. The rice is always a treat, and, while the pork is a bit tough, it tastes pretty good. The shrimp isn't much to write home about. The meals are generally pretty cheap and the portions are fairly generous. The staff are pretty easy going, but I always feel awkward like I'm being judged (though this might just be me). If you are on a budget, and in the mood for Chinese, this place is probably a good stop for you. read more

Not really sure how this place could have gotten a decent rating, it was clean inside last night when we got take out. The food was bland, the vegetables were extremely overcooked and soggy, The pork had no seasoning, The deep fired shrimp was dipped in some nasty breading that was almost as thick as the shrimp, it was greasy as well. This is the poorest excuse for Chinese food that I think I have ever had the misfortune to order. My wife hated it, I suffered through it and I am now paying the price today. I would never recommend that anyone go there. oh and even the spicy mustard was runny. They sure have a brisk take-out business. I think take-out gets priority over dining-in. This place is authentic-Chinese. Half of the wait staff does not speak fluent english, but they are very polite and eager to please. When they don't understand your question, they get somebody else on staff who will understand. But its still slow, so bring some topics for extended conversation with you!!! I really enjoyed the Lemon Chicken; instead of the usual rice I got the noodle option. Some of the noodles were on the heat too long and were too hard to chew. One of my dining companions ordered their Sizzling Chicken with the Garlic Sauce option. It was super delicious. Yes, the walls could use a scrubbing. The wall in our booth on the south side had quite a few splatter spots. The delicious food made up for any short-coming of the janitorial and/or wait staff. Or, if you are worried about spots on the wall, take one of the tables in the bay windows that flank both sides of the front door. I like the green-ish and dark red decor, its simple and the ambiance is quiet enough that I could hear my friends across the table without yelling or having to 'cup' my ear towards them. read more

Recently visited Ming's and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and hot. Always a plus. Also the portion sizes were solid as well. I recently hit up another chinese place and was sorely disappointed by the size of the plates. I also noticed Ming's does a solid take out business as there was a constant flow of people coming and leaving with take out. Another good sign. I would have given 5 stars but the service was not that great. It wasn't terrible, but I would rate it 2 1/2 stars. Also the bathroom is in the back so you have to walk through the kitchen to get there. Which is actually a plus as you get to see how really clean it is. which is another HUGE plus for me. This is probably hands down the best Chinese food in town, I've explored and have eaten at several Chinese spots here in Town. Ming's is reasonable in price and it's amazing flavor profile is unmatchable and worth every bite. You don't believe me try it for yourself. I was hopeful when we pulled up to get take out because the place looked rough -- and those can often be the best places. In this case, it was definitely not true. We had the orange chicken and pan fried noodles and fried rice and egg rolls. About halfway through dinner, the four of us were asking each other what we liked the most and we all determined there was nothing we would order again and all agreed to steer clear. The pan fried noodles had no flavor. The fried rice wasn't bad, but I think it was over salted which gave it flavor which was a nice contrast compared to the noodles. I came here for the first time tonight and ordered their Wor Won Ton Soup. The woman at the counter was very friendly and my order was ready in 10 minutes. The soup itself was delicious. I added some hot oil and just a little soy sauce and that did the trick. There was a good mixture of veggies like bok choy, onions, and mushrooms along with a few slices of pork and small pieces of chicken and even a couple shrimp. Of course it also had dumplings, the inside of which was very tasty. All together the subtle gentle flavors of this dish were just what I needed on a cold evening. Mings is the best Chinese food I have had in the Central Valley. The veggies are always cooked perfectly crunchy but not soggy. The chicken and tofu here is always cooked just right ! The tofu has a great texture that is flavorful and delightful! The chicken is juicy and tender. I have eaten here since starting at Fresno city this fall and I just can't go anywhere else!My favorite dish is their chicken chow fun! read more

This place is right next to club fred or audies (your choice) and it hits the spot. The food is good and the chowmein always hits the spot. I used to come in here all the time for lunch and was always full of of very little money. In actuality two people can share one meal there is just that much. It is great for dinner too, I've bought my parents and siblings here and just ordered an array of items and enjoyed them all family style. Everyone I have taken here has been satisfied.
