Ms. Mole's is a hidden gem on Northside of Chicago! Had an excellent dinner there tonight. The food was wonderful, but also beautiful! We started with Guacamole and Ceviche, both were amazing. We had a party of 5 people, we were able to sit outside and social distance comfortably. The restaurant took every precaution to make sure everything was served with our safety and comfort in mind. Each person in our party ordered something different. Each plate had different elements of flavors that went so well together. We had the Arroz a la Tumbada, Callos de Hacha en Pipián, Special Thursday Mole with Duck, Enchiladas Vegetarianas, and Atun a La Mexicana. For dessert, we each had an item and again, each dish had such flavorful elements. I think my ultimate favorites were the Chocolate Tamale and the Churros. Thank you, Chef Gino Bahena and Branko for making our evening wonderful! We definitely plan on going back soon. I'm also hoping to take a Taste of Mexico cooking class with Chef Gino sometime soon. read more

Well! Where do i begin! Service was pretty good! Our server was attentive and suggested a few things that were great. The mole we had was delicious so was the rack of lamb. The outside was burnt and a tad crunchy....the muddle was red and medium rare just like i had asked for. The Margaritas were delicious! But make sure you ask for "holy water" oh so good! Looking for a new place to try after 3-months of quarantine. Found this gem after seeing it a few days ago. Had some great drinks ie Palomas, Passion Fruit Margs, Mojito. We ordered take-out from here & it was phenomenal! Let me start by saying that I am sure this would be a great dine-in experience. They have outdoor seating & in nice weather I'd feel comfortable eating in the outdoor seating. However, it was super windy & take-out was perfect. Pick-up was seamless & they even let me purchase a couple of bottled Mexican cokes. The food was really impressive & just delicious. We had two moles, chicken (rojo) & lamb (negro). The mole negro was phenomenal. So rich & deep. I loved the mole rojo, though my dining partner was slightly less impressed with the rojo than he was with the negro. We also had appetizers (meatballs in smoked chili cream sauce) & sopas. Both were great. We ordered the taquitos for the kids but even these were unexpectedly flavorful--a far cry from the deep-fried & bland dish you might expect (here the taquitos were just perfectly crisped & delicious). Overall, everyone we encountered was super friendly & the food was remarkable. For a restaurant to bravely open in an unassuming spot during COVID is impressive. We will be back! read more

Ordered takeout from this place a couple weeks back and finally got around to writing a review. First of all, my order wasn't ready yet, so the owner offered me a margarita on the house while I waited. Once we got the food we had a great experience. We got the chipotle duck, sea scallops, and shrimp entrees and they were all outstanding (and traveled well too). We will definitely be going back. read more

With the loss of T&B Grill and Ixcateco in our area, we feared there would never be a replacement Mexican restaurant of the caliber in our area again - we were wrong! Mis Moles makes you feel like family. From beginning to end the staff was over the top friendly and great at their jobs. We over ordered to try a variety of things and it was all just incredible! If you're familiar with the borrego that was at Ixcateco - this rivals it. The scallops were an unexpected menu item. Very tasty! The mole is perfection. The margaritas are not too sweet. The guac and queso - mmmm! Everything is priced appropriately. We sat outside. They are handling covid precautions very well. We'll be back. Soon! read more

I appreciated how they let you sample the different mole options as well, it helped me select the flavor I wanted and I was not disappointed. Mis Moles is a real gem! We've been on the hunt for authentic mole dishes and this is the place - worth the trek from Lincoln park. Every dish was fantastic, from the sopes, taquitos, and guacamole we had for appetizers to the mole enchiladas and duck in mole negro entrees. The service was great too! Our sever was on top of things, there was a violinist to serenade, and the owner himself came out to regale us with fun stories and strong shots. Highly recommend for a super fun night! read more

Went on a Sunday night. Business quite slow, which is unfortunate because the food was fantastic and the staff gracious and accomodating. Mole de machamanteles was spot on from what i learned to make during my time in Oaxaca. Scallops were delish, as was the lamb in mole rojo ( generous portion too!). BEST Mole in town! I have never seen 5 different moles on one menu. I had the daily special mole chichilo with duck and highly recommend. My friend had the shrimp in chile guajillo and it was so good.. The churros are made fresh to order. Everyone at our table ordered a pint of mole to go. We and some friends had the opportunity to visit the restaurant this past Saturday. We had been there previously when it was a Romanian restaurant. It was interesting to see Brancho still involved with the new concept/cuisine. We had been to Geno Behana's other restaurants in the past and knew of his reputation. As a summary statement, the overall experience was excellent. Our server was very informative and very enthusiastic about the menu items and specialty items. The mole sampler provided insight as to matching them with the appropriate entrees. Even the chips were exceptional as to the texture and taste. They were as good as we've ever had. We had multiple appetizers, all of which were delicious. The entrees were inventive, artfully presented and top notch. The tortillas, which were highly recommended were absolutely the best. Our margaritas had a very sophisticated taste. We finished dinner with a flan and a chocolate purse that was decadent and delicious. Service was attentive and well timed. All in all, our party was extremely pleased with all aspects of our dinner. We agreed that we will be revisiting Mia Mole in the near term. Its really a f***ing shame that this place is always almost empty. Chicagoans don't know any better about top quality Mexican food. This place epitomizes the greatness of one of the most complex dishes in the world- Mole. Mole consists of a dozen or sometimes 50 distinct ingredients with a stint of chocolate coating a delectable fresh chicken breast. The creativity and absolute quality behind every single one of their dishes is awe inspiring- and yet, they are always empty. Chicago doesn't deserve quality Mexican food. They'd rather have the extremely salty Velvet Taco, the even saltier Taqueria Chingon, or the disingenuously unauthentic Big Star pseudo -Mexican taco. Wake up Chicago- Mexican food is a delicacy- stop supporting these wannabe Mexican shops that over charge you just to make you feel a false sense of worthiness. Its all just an illusion. Come on Chicago!! You can do better- Come to Mis Moles- its truly an amazing authentically Mexican food experience. read more

We had looked on the menu the night before and were really excited to try the dishes. We loved the moles and the flavors were great, however for the prices, the food was lacking in presentation and quantity (4 small pieces of rack of lamb per serving). The service was great and the manager was very attentive and friendly. Nowadays safety is a priority and we were disappointed to see the majority of the servers not wear their masks (completely or at all). All in all it's a great place but the experience is definitely more scaled-down than what the menu leads you to believe. read more

Very good Mexican food! Popped in with my husband and daughter and we really enjoyed the mole sampler with tuna and chicken. Hand made tortillas and a great salad complimented the meal. Had a nice outdoor dining experience with my husband. It was a bit chilly but we braved the cold and had a great dinner. My husband had shrimp in a chilli sauce. The shrimp were plump and tasty. Maybe 8 with rice. I had the sopa Azteca which was thick with avocado, chicken, cheese and many complex flavors. I added a side of rice which made it a meal. We didn't have coffee or desert due to the cold which was a regret. We plan to go back when it is a bit warmer and try the carne asada. They have a different mole nightly so a good place if you are a fan of mole. The outdoor dining area was pretty with all kinds of flowers. The tables are actually on a side street which was surprisingly quiet. I'm glad we went and look forward to returning. The margaritas were in traditional and pomegranate flavors. read more

Service was great and the owner is very accommodating. Mole is usually made too bitter or too sweet but theirs was perfect. They also have an excellent green salsa. Their tortillas are homemade too which is a big plus. I had the scallops which were delicious and my husband had enchiladas. He wanted them made with queso fresco and they were not stingy with it. Even the rice and black beans were delicious. We are definitely looking forward to going back to try other dishes. It's a little pricey but it is really good quality upscale food with a flair. If this is not your type of food, you can at least go sit in their outdoor seating area and have a margarita which also looked fantastic. read more

We decided to finally dine-out after months of eating and home and ordering takeout. We noticed, Mis Moles was a new addition in our neighborhood and that they had a cute and safely spaced outdoor patio. Not only was the food delicious but the service was exceptional. It felt like our waiter and staff genuinely loved what they were doing and made us feel comfortable and taken care of which was important with all of the social distancing concerns. We ordered the cóctel de camarón as an appetizer, the Friday mole and the scallops - spectacular. We finished the meal with warm fresh churros which were devoured immediately.
