One of the best BBQ places in Nashvile from start to finish! When you step inside you see the Pro-Military, Police and Firefighter vibe.. proud of the USA! The food is delicious with really good prices They have so many sauces to choose from. Mix and match as they make the food that much better. Always my must Go-To place when I come to Nashville for BBQ.

The place is a nice restaurant outside the mall. It is very informal and cozy. The food is pretty good, only reason is not a 5 star for me is because the pulled pork could be more juicy rather than on a drier side. Worth stopping by though.

Mission BBQ is a chain BBQ spot with this location at Opry Mills being one of the four in Tennessee. Wven with their expansive locations, this is our first time trying them and we were fairly impressed! They are located at the far end of Opry Mills and while connected, they only have an external entrance, which I can appreciate. Normally we avoid Opry Mills, and honestly still do depending on the day or time of year, but Mission BBQ is worth the trip, especially on a weeknight. It is walk-up/counter style ordering, where you take a number and it's brought out to you. They also do takeout and online ordering, which is what we have taken advantage of. The restaurant is local centric and patriotic forward with lots of military photos and memorabilia throughout the dining room. While not my general variety of spot to frequent, the dining room was clean, drink station was well stocked and the service was friendly. Food was prepared well, and ready when I arrived. I appreciated that they waited to show me each plate before bagging it up. Really nice touch! Food wise we went with a three meat plate with sliced turkey, moist brisket and jalapeño cheddar sausage. Sausage and turkey were excellent, the brisket was a bit fatty for me. I will go with the lean option next time. I sided it with green beans with bacon. They were tasty, nothing special and definitely bacon forward. We also got a shredded chicken sandwich with fries, and a child's chicken slider with macaroni and cheese. Chicken sandwiches were solid, with plentiful shredded chicken that was tender and seasoned well. Sides were okay. Overall, we enjoyed our meal from Mission BBQ. I appreciate the convenience of ordering and pickup, so when the craving hits, Mission BBQ is a decent option moving forward!

Mood: Sunday Lunch Love a good meaningful eatery. This place is designed to support those in the armed forces. Mission Bar B Que definitely has soul. The inside pays homage to troops past & present. Food was really good. Brisket 10/10 So much flavor & tender Sauces 10/10 Great selection of flavor pallets Mac & Cheese 7/10 Wasn't much of a taste but was ok Cornbread 8/10 Lacked a bit of moisture & savory to it. But still good Service was inviting and established is clean! Good meal with purpose. Enjoyed it overall.

Best brisket I've had in a while. And you know I love some fresh cut fries! There are a good amount of sauces you can try. There's something for everyone for sure. Service was fast and efficient. The open seating area was clean and spacious.

During a work trip to Nashville back in September, I had a strong "I really want some Barbecue" moment. The South is known for their tremendous barbecue flavors, rubs, herbs and spices and I could not leave before I checked out one spot there that while it was a franchise --it was known to be a staple in the city.. Jumping straight to it Mission was great! Their service was fast, convenient and courteous. I remembered saying to myself, that was pretty easy. You can select your protein, sides and veggies. With a normal restaurant level noise ambiance and welcoming environment for everyone, you could really tell it was the place to be that afternoon as this location was right around the corner from the Grand Ole Opry. From the tender juicy ribs, to their greens, the food was great. My mouth is watering thinking about it. What made it fun was their assortment of sauces you can try on each bite. More restaurants should adopt this style of serving up their sauces when it comes to barbecue. Their banana pudding had a subtle sweetness and was delicious. It reminded me of the way I use to eat it growing up. This was a tremendous first visit to the Country Music Capital of the World and a wonderful way to finally quiet the beast within that just wanted some barbecue!

We planned a lunch visit to Mission Barbecue on our way to Gatlinburg after checking them out on google. The manager was very friendly as she stopped at our table to ask where we were from. (St. Louis metro-east) and tell us about their "mission". We all enjoyed our burgers, pulled pork, ribs, cheesy potatoes, bottled soda and fries. The manager returned with complimentary brownies and apple desserts for our table of 7, as a welcome gift! Great experience!

Get the brisket and baked beans. I mean the green beans are good too but don't miss the first two.

Best BBQ ever? I don't know. Best brisket ever? Maybe. I asked the gal behind the desk what to get and she didn't hesitate. Brisket. And she wasn't wrong. It may have been the best brisket I've ever had. Ever. And brisket to me is like watermelon. If it ain't great, I don't want it. This brisket is great. The baked beans may have been the best ever as well. Absolutely fantastic. Add to that the six different varieties of bbq sauces at your table, the incredible customer service, and the cool military supportive interior ambiance...it's a definite five star. Easy walk from the resort makes it even that much more appealing. Don't pay the outrageous prices at Gaylord. Get yourself a walk in and make your way here.

I love every single aspect of this place. From the location and decor to the overall quality of food and pricing... Mission BBQ is 100% "On Point." First of all, I'm very much a fan of the fact that they "Support the Mission" when it comes to their involvement with the support of our troops, protecting national security and honoring those that have unfortunately stood their last watch. Thank you, Mission BBQ for all that you do on this front. Secondly, let's talk food. The food here is absolutely delicious. It's juicy, it's flavorful and it is easily complimented by the variety of sauces at your disposal. Helpful hint: DON'T DROWN YOUR MEAT IN SAUCE! I was so eager to try each and every sauce, that I decided instead, to make little piles of each sauce and dip my freshly sliced to order, brisket sandwich into each pile. NO REGRETS! I partnered up my brisket sammy with a hot cup of Maggie's Mac-N-Cheese and washed it all down with some kettled brewed iced tea (sweetened, of course!)... and I tell you what... after spending a full week in Nashville, this was, without a doubt... my most favorite meal. My coworkers who joined me in sharing this meal both ordered a 3-meat, meat sampler and they both truly enjoyed the brisket, sausage and pulled-pork. Honestly, the combinations of flavors and meat pairings are truly only limited to your imagination. I hope to visit this place again soon... because writing this review is making my mouth water! 10 out of 10!

Overview: 4/5 I would have given it a 4.5 but YELP rounds to whole numbers... My first time here and wanted to try good Tennessee BBQ. This place filled the bill!! Ambiance : 5/5 The decor was very strong Arms Service and first responder theme. It had plenty of tables and booths and could accommodate small 2-4 person and large groups. They played patriotic music and at 12 noon you stand up and they played the Star Spangle Banner in honor of these service members alive and fallen. Food/Drink 4/5 You order up front everything is à la carte. I got a platter with pulled chicken, collard greens and a side salad. My wife got the grilled shrimp and macaroni/cheese. Both orders came with a drink and corn bread. The pulled chicken was moist and tasty. The collards were OK... a little mushy for my taste. The corn bread was the best I ever had. I normally don't like corn bread but I would eat this if I could find the recipe. The side salad was probably the most disappointing as it was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce that was not very green, two little tomatoes and cucumbers. It could have used a larger portion of ranch dressing. The sauce selection was great with six different varieties. Each sauce recipe came from a different region around the country ranging from Memphis to the Carolinas. I tried them all and the Memphis Belle was my favorite followed by the Smokey Mtn. The picture included show my ranking Left (Favorite) to Right (Least Favorit It included unlimited soft drinks including sodas, teas and lemonade. Service : 5/5 It was counter service ordering and you picked up your order when they called your name. Conclusion : Would go back for sure!! Solid 4.5 place.

    How are the prices?

I believe most fair for quality foods!

Do I need to have a reservation to guarantee a table for 6? Is it super crowded for lunch?

No you do not need a reservation and although I've only been once at a weird time it did seem like it could get busy pretty regularly.

How loud is this restaurant? We are looking for a place in this area to eat and have a meeting.

Not too loud, definitely possible to have a meeting. Also an outside seating area if inside happens to be too loud

Any one know what salad dressings they have? Trying to plan my meal ahead of time to fit into Weight Watchers.

Ranch and Italian. Calories at this link: https://mission-bbq.com/nutrition

Do they have s large party room for 100 people?

    Private room? No.

For the longest time, Bringle's was my absolute favorite in town, but Edley's may have just managed to take the crown. I almost feel like I'm cheating on Mr. Bringle by saying that, but as he famously put it, "You don't have to hate somebody else's barbecue to like mine." My default order at any top-tier joint is either a brisket plate or a multi-meat combo platter with brisket as the anchor. Edley's plates come properly equipped with two sides and a slice of cornbread. Where they really set themselves apart, though, is the menu flexibility: -The Add-Ons: You can throw on a $5 upcharge to add an extra 3 oz of meat or a jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage. -Burnt Ends: Edley's offers burnt ends, which is a bit of a rarity in town and something you don't easily find over at Jack's or Bringle's. If they're available when you order, grab them. Price-wise, Edley's isn't cheap, but it's far from overly expensive. It sits at fair market value, costing roughly what you'd pay for a comparable meal at any of the other major players in Nashville. The meats are high quality, wonderfully smoked, and packed with deep flavor. Beyond the rare burnt ends, the sauces here are what truly elevate the meal. Across the board, Edley's house sauces--from their classic red to their white sauce--are probably my personal favorites in the city. Between Jack's, Bringle's Smokin' Oasis, and Edley's, you genuinely cannot go wrong--Nashville barbecue is in great hands. But right now? Edley's holds my top spot. I had the brisket tacos, which were flavorful, though a little dry. I am giving grace here because it was takeout and possibly was much more moist prior to transport. I also had the Nashville hot link, a smoked sausage with house made spicy pimento cheese and pickled jalapeños. It was indeed pleasantly spicy. We shared some fries, which were hot, crisp, and well seasoned. They also have ribs, wings, bbq nachos and fries, fried pickles, bbq chicken and turkey, various sandwiches and platters. They also offer Nashville's staple hot chicken in platter, sandwich, and taco form. Catfish is another option, in all the same varieties. Sides: cornbread, Mac & cheese, baked beans, green beans (in bone broth and bacon). Cold sides such as bean salad, potato salad, Cole slaw. They also have a couple desserts and salads available, as well as a kids menu. Very affordable, as we got meals for 15 people for only 230 dollars.

I found myself over at Bellevue for dinner, 2 hours before my hockey game. I wanted quality food…read morebut not super carb heavy but also not something that could potentially wreck my stomach. After all, can you imagine having digestive problems while playing hockey? I love barbecue so I thought I'd try this place. I walked in and it wasn't at all busy at 5:32. However when I finished my order, the line was out the door. I asked the cashier what was good and the manager (maybe owner) walked over and I asked him. I wanted ribs or brisket, but needed a 2nd opinion. He said he would choose brisket because theirs is USDA Prime and he would put it against any other barbecue restaurant in Tennessee. Those are some bold words. So I ordered the brisket platter (fatty portion) with green beans and cinnamon baked apples. What I received was 3 good sized portions (1/2 pound) of fatty brisket. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth without an overbearing amount of fat clumped together. The bark was salty and very peppery. It was actually good enough to eat without a sauce. Speaking of, there was only one sauce on the table, so I used that. It was a sweet sauce, definitely honey-based but not overly sweet like other honey-based sauces I've had in the past. The thing is I love everything honey-related, so I would definitely buy this to take home. It was so good, I was scavenging for brisket fibers on my plate. So I praised the brisket but I think the shocker was the green beans. These were hands down, the best green beans I've ever had...ever. Salty, tender, peppery, with chunks of meat and fat, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Who would have thought that a side could be that good? Last but not least, the Cinnamon Baked Apples. I love baked/fried apples. Something about the tart and sweetness brings me back every time. The apples were soft, but not mushy. I would have liked them to be a little more tender and more slices of apples. I think there was more sauce than apples but nevertheless, they were great. Overall I'm glad I visited Honeyfire for the first time. I'm here often (near Bellevue) so I'll definitely be coming back again and again.

My kids played outside while we waited for our food, but the food came out quickly. The kids' meals are some of the best values in town.
