I liked the guacamole (disclaimer: it costs more than an order of 3 tacos and it honestly wasn't *that* good, so I probably won't repeat). I got a daiquiri, which was tasty and well mixed. The real highlight was the al pastor tacos -- I loved the pineapple and they were so hearty with the cauliflower that I didn't miss the meat. Buttttt I ordered the tacos again when I went back to Mr. Oso and they were SO uncomfortably spicy!! I could feel the heat in my face and we were chugging water and desperately eating tortillas to try to make the pain stop. Clearly, the kitchen is inconsistent. I noticed a few other Yelpers have mentioned overly spicy dishes, so I hope that the restaurant takes notice and fixes the issue. read more

I was so excited to hear a new Mister Oso location opening up! I haven't been to this part of wash park area before but the location was perfect! Ample parking in a lot next to the restaurant and the interior was so cute. We came during the first week that they were open and there were a few kinks but I'm sure it was just because we were new! All of the food was great and the drinks were as well! We shared food off the Happy hour menu. The frozen drinks are also amazing. They are one of my favorites from Senor Bear (same owner) and was excited to see these on their menu as well! We loved the Death Bear nachos and the Frito Pie! Can't wait to come back and try their dinner menu. I also saw lots of photos of a giant gummy bear looking shareable drink but that wasn't available yet when I went. I had dinner here last Wednesday with some girlfriends. There was a bit of a miscommunication about location (there is more than one location!) but we got it sorted out. There is a parking lot which is important in this neighborhood. This is a cool spot with a clean and fresh interior. We were seated quickly and ordered a few items off the happy hour menu. We had the queso and guac along with Margs and Palomas. For dinner, we ordered the birria tacos and shrimp tacos along with a side of the corn and refried beans. The food was all so delicious. The birria tacos and Mexican corn were my fave. The tacos were crisp and the meat was seasoned so well, packed with flavor. I have been thinking about both ever since and can't wait to go back to have more. I am not sure how I missed this spot, but I will be coming back to try everything else on the menu! Yum! read more

We got there 5 minutes before it opened on a Tuesday and was already a line of people. We were seated quickly and all of the staff were very nice. Ordered the Queso Fundido and OH MY GOSH it was one of the best in my life. Got the Birria Tacos and those were amazing as well, food came out quick too! I've been here 3 times now and the margaritas are pretty tasty! I like that it comes with an orange, it definitely adds a pleasant citrus taste to it. The guacamole is stellar! I love that it has a pepita garnish it provides a nice crunch in the soft texture of the guac. The birria is my go to from now on. Awesome braised short rib and slightly crispy cheese. The bartenders have been very friendly every time. Cute decorations! I'm not a fan of the cafeteria plastic food trays that some items come out on, sorry I just want a real plate if I'm paying to go out. I've tried and love the Mister Oso in RiNo, but finally visited the Wash Park location this weekend - I've gotta say, this one might be even better! The space is huge, open, and wonderfully colorful - the ambiance here is great, especially for groups. Our waitress was lovely and hilarious, she told us everything we needed to know about the restaurant and the menu! We came during happy hour, so I tried the frozen cocktails of the day and the mini queso with chorizo verde. Both were SO good. It was just an all-around bad experience. First of all, they charge you for reservations. I understand that the charge ($10 per person + $1 surcharge) will be applied to your tab but I still don't like that concept. It's like the restaurant doesn't trust their own customers to keep a reservation and have, therefore, found a loophole to make additional money for holding a table. When we arrived, the place was nearly empty and the one hostess working would not get off the phone to help us. Someone from the bar had to walk over and get us seated. We did have a reservation and they ended up seating us at a shared table. I knew this would be a problem but I didn't say anything (later on, a group of women were ushered in from the storm and had to sit with us). Prices and selection are okay. But, looking at their prices, I'm still left wondering why they opt for a reservation system that requires payment. I've dined at some amazing restaurants in Denver that don't require that. Anyway, after we were served our grease-infused tacos, a storm rolled through and they didn't bother closing the big patio doors. Leaves and dirt flew everywhere. Still, they did nothing. It's like they're cool with debris and tree leaves in their establishment and in my dinner. Back to their tacos, why does everyone think they can cook tacos? I felt like I ate a platter of oil with some tacos sprinkled in it. Long story short, I'll not be returning. read more

Dined here this evening and a had a wonderful experience. Food, service and ambience are all 10/10. Definitely one of the best Latin American restaurants in Denver! Their chips and guacamole are unique because they are topped with pistachios and pumpkin seeds, the brussel sprout salad is huge and topped with candied cantaloupe and cheese and is phenomenal. Their empanadas are absolute perfection in both their flavor and flakiness. I only tried one type of tacos-the lamb Barbacoa but meat was perfectly seasoned and the tortillas were incredible and I liked that their served "build your own style" which makes it more fun! Will be back to try their churros. Service was amazing, fast and friendly and food arrived within minutes. They have a parking lot behind the restaurant so no need to worry about street parking. 20% service charge added to the bill which they make very clear so no need to worry about overtipping. They have some happy hour items 3-6pm daily which I didn't try but the nachos did look tasty. read more

Friendly service! We sat at the bar but were kindly informed as soon as a table was ready in case we wanted to move. Brussels sprouts salad - Filling. The dried cantaloupe was unique, but too candy-like to harmonize with the rest of the salad. I wish they had a vegetarian protein option (when I asked, they said they could add the roasted squash and zucchini from the calabacitas tacos, but I felt that would be too obtrusive to the originally intended flavors). The dressing was not noticable other than adding a creamy texture; I would prefer something bolder or spicier. Smoked potato tacos - The tacos are served with the tortilla and fillings separately, which I wish more restaurants would do. They we're able to make this without the bacon dressing. I tried the potatoes, they were too smoky for my liking. Passionfruit chilcano - A refreshing drink. I ordered this because I always gravitate toward passionfruit options. Unfortunately the passionfruit flavor didn't really come through for me. Churros - Amazing, served warm. The salty, buttery caramel dipping sauce is lovely and indulgent. read more

Was super excited to try this new location once it opened next door to my apartment complex. I've been to Señor Bear before but not the other Mister Oso location, and I was again not disappointed. I love the deconstructed taco concept, and the tortillas are the best I've had in any restaurant I've ever been to. Their frozen mezcal cocktails were also amazing! We were lucky enough to snag a reservation to Mister Oso's Washington Park location for their Alpaca Patio Party this weekend. They had a special collaboration with @avianocoffee and made drinks on site. We did get an espresso martini made by @avianocoffee but it was not my favorite espresso martini. I love their coffee but their martini was a miss for me. As for Mister Oso's brunch menu they had a super fun selection and we loved the food. They give you great serving sizes and everything tastes great. This was a great collaboration event and it was so fun to see the alpacas in person. The Dj is a great touch to brunch as well. My friends and I stopped in for happy hour at Mister Oso during their opening week and were so impressed by the value and flavor of the happy hour menu. We all enjoyed the $7 house margs, which could be rimmed with sugar, salt, or tajin. We also split 4 of the 5 appetizers (the taco Gordo was too small to share), and loved the addition of the seeds to the guacamole and the pickled red onions on the nachos. We ended with the churros for dessert, which were absolutely delicious alongside the caramel sauce they come with. We would definitely return to try the regular menu! read more

The shrimp tacos were nearly inedible with how "smoked" they were and they had an overwhelming fake/chemical taste. The tortillas were sub par to say the least. The elote had good flavor but was honestly a joke after you carve it off the cob you're left with like 4 kernels total. Not worth the money. Our service was excellent and we thought the atmosphere was both bright and comfortable which is not a common combination. I knew this little spot would be good after seeing it pop up in the Michelin guide but I wasn't prepared for how flavorful and delicious our meal would be!! First, our service was incredible. We were a big group for a birthday party so I was a bit worried about the speed but our waiter (I forget his name) was so much fun and extremely accommodating to our many needs and questions. We ordered the ceviche and guacamole to start which were both flavor packed and fresh along with many drinks. The margaritas are definitely the show stoppers and I wouldn't recommend anything else as they were a little less memorable. The true show stoppers were the main tacos - I split the chicken and shrimp which I highly recommend. The shrimp was covered in an incredible sauce that packed a massive savory punch and the chicken had this incredible smoky yet juiciness to it. I also heard the mojo was fabulous. As a finisher we got some churros which were straight out of the fryer so they were super soft and gooey in the middle.
