Review..MIXT@Wilshire Blvd This place is basically a carbon copy of Sweetgreen (another salad place),i.e., you move down a line like a cafeteria, ordering one of the salad combos from their menu. They seemed to be okay with substitutions, but upgrades will understandably cost you more. Then you watch the person behind the counter start putting your request into a bowl which they mix up nicely and present to you. Both the food and the portions are good. Seating is either inside or out. Now here's the big reason I, for one, likely won't go back. Unless you're lucky enough to find a parking spot on the street, you're kind of forced to park in the garage that's part of the SAG/AFTRA building. The problem is that the restaurant only validates for 30 minutes which is barely enough time to to get your food, let alone sit and eat it at a normal pace. So real world example: after finishing lunch and taking my 30 minute validated garage ticket back to get my car, the time overage cost $11.00. Seeing as I don't see being able to comfortably enjoy a meal there in 30 minutes or less, I can't see planning on going back. This place is great! Everyone was feeling down in the office a it was a hectic week with several vacations. I decide to get everyone lunch and where else to go? Everyone in my office was so happy and loved the chicken Caesar salads, it totally made the day! Was a little upset that they do not accept paying with a $100 bill... Basically said it was there policy and tough luck...... Not sure if I will be back..... You all need to change your policy. read more

i live a block away and come here at least once a week. the greens are always super fresh. i mean ALWAYS. it's 8:20 pm right now and i'm enjoying my favorite: caesar salad, medium dressing with Spanish white anchovies and shaved Parmesan. at this time of day, most places serve salads that are limp and lame, but not here. the salads burst with crunchy life before perishing in my famished gut. goodbye, sweet Lettuce, we hardly knew ye... the sandwiches and soups are on par with the salads in quality and taste. things are a smidge pricey, but that's what you get for living in central LA. i need fresh food to counteract the smog and the nicotine. one thing about the servers: they are without fail, friendly, cool and efficient. they're so cool that i got upset the other night when some bearded douchebag manager i hadn't seen before had a few words for my regular server, Ronnie. "hey, i need you to do A, B and C for me. you have to get in the habit of it, or it just leads to D and E, you got me?" it was nothing overtly vicious, it was just said without respect, and in the middle of Ronnie putting my Caesar together. hey, if you need to have a talk with an employee, fine, just do it in private and be cool. why are you flexing your pathetic managerial muscles in front of customers, WHILE the employee is helping them? i don't want to smell your dirty laundry, dude, so start your fluff cycle after the doors close. if you're reading this, and your business card says "Mixt Greens, Owner" then get rid of that dude and give Ronnie a promotion. read more

The perfect salad spot. There should be one on every corner in Los Angeles, but this location near LACMA must be one of the model Mixts for the entire chain. Fresh, delicious ingredients. Great salads. A fast and friendly staff. Salads are large-sized and a good value for the premium ingredients and presentation. I hope this chain conquers the world. read more

No salad should ever cost over $15, especially not one that only let's you pick five ingredients and costs extra for meat. It's a dish that requires basically no skill to put together! The ingredient choices were really limited as well. I could have made something better myself at some food court salad bar for a fraction of the price. Since I work right across the street I've been here quite a few times now. It's like Chipotle but with salad. Rather than going down the bar and picking out your ingredients, however, you just tell the employee what you'd like and he'll mix it up for you. You can build your own salad or order a pre-determined one which is usually what I do. Lately I've defaulted to getting their Caesar because it's pretty good and at $10 is their cheapest option. That's my biggest complaint with Mixt is that it's pretty expensive for what it is. One salad and a drink can cost you almost $20. At least the portion of salad is sizable but I never feel like I've gotten a good value. They also have a couple sandwiches on offer; I tried the Rooster one once and thought it was just okay. I'd recommend sticking with the salad here. The employees are usually pretty nice and efficient. I sometimes have a hard time hearing them because it can get loud being surrounded by all the mixing sounds. Mixt is a decent lunch option in the area, especially if you're looking for something on the healthier side- just don't expect it to be cheap. read more

I had been meaning to try Mixt greens , but when i'd pass by, there were too many people at the counter and i needed 'speciality' treatment to figure out how to order....so free Friday night at LACMA sent me first to Mixt Green, where "RONNIE" was superbly helpful-and cute! The offerings all seem very fresh-I was'impresed by the lettuce selections, especially the 'butter' and I'm not sure how they manage to keep all the offerings looking so spiffy, but I thought they offered very good value-and as Ronnie pointed out, after I commented on how the trucks that line up across the street present a lot of competition, he replied "well they dont really sell the same kind of product as we do." VERY TRUE. Hard to find a good salad from a truck and certainly not at a 'reasonable price.' After the Museum (where the Resnick PAvlion is really awesome-especially when there aren't a zillion people, I went t the 99cent store a few blocks West and found that they had hydroponically grown buttter lettuce which i LOVE= and much cheaper than at the supermarket (ralphs) and i added that to my salad. read more

Although we live only a few blocks away and I'm a veggie, I haven't had a chance to try Mixt Greens until today. I was craving green stuff and got my fill for a fairly reasonable price. I tried the make your own salad option and the husband had the disco sandwich. It was about $20 for the both of us, including drinks, and it seemed worth it for lots of fresh food and a pretty friendly atmosphere. I think we'll be back! read more

WARNING: GIANT BUGS IN MY FOOD! I have eaten here a few times, and always thought it was a good place. Today I got a sandwich and salad togo, and there was a HUGE bug in my food. I'm talking about a bug the size of my pinky finger attached to my sandwich! How does someone miss a bug that size and put it in a togo box?! HOW?! I can never eat here again because I don't know if they actually clean their produce much less CHECK it before they make it. This place should not have an "A" in front of their restaurant! DO NOT EAT HERE. If you do, you may find an extra bit of "protein" on your sandwich. This place is right across from my apartment and i i there ALL the time! I have tried everything on the menu and i can't say a bad thing about anything! Everything is fresh and organic, I love knowing that they are eco friendly and looking out for the enviroment!! If your not feeling any of the salads they have on the menu they always have a build your own so you get exactly what you want!! The salad are big and the prices are pretty reasonable for organic and fresh! Get a member card it looks just like a credit cards 10 entrees and you get one free!! read more

Environmentally responsible but definitely not economically. Bit of a rip-off of you ask me. Food is tasty but I'm not impressed. I love this place. Somebody'll probably call it hippie-dippy, but I really think, in a complete lack of pretentiousness, it's chic. Eco-friendly delicious, healthy food. It's fun. There's just so much McDonald's in America--Wendy's, Fatburger, Rally's, the BK Lounge, Del Taco, Taco Bell. They're all the same, and they're all greasy and terrible for you. This place just oozes health. And it's delicious. It's definitely expensive, but so what. More of us should eat here and at places like it so others will be encouraged to open more of this kind of thing and one day it'll be affordable. read more

I had the day off today, and decided to try this place instead of hitting the 10+ food trucks lined up on Wilshire. Pretty good I have to say. Service is a bit slow, but that's because the food prepares are super friendly and like to chat with you while they make your order. I have to admit to being a bit annoyed at first, then realized that it's part of their business model. We are just way too conditioned with fast food! Very high quality ingredients and lots of choices to make. It might be a bit on the expensive side, but hey, if you want high quality ingredients, expect to pay for it. It's not anymore expensive then the food trucks. The workers also tend to be easy on the eyes too, especially the 1/2 Asian looking girl who rang up my check. Good food, good looking folks? I have been waiting for something like this to come to the hood! Hooray! I was pleasantly surprised by my salad. It was delicious and big enough for dinner and then lunch the next day. Hooray for that, too. I did a make-your-own and I did a good job (horn-tooting for picking good ingredients) but I will say that adding avocado is a bit problematic because it's mushed up avo and while that's tasty, it makes everything kind of soggy. I don't think I'll choose that again. Also, they were out of a couple of ingredients when I mosied on over there at dinnertime, so that kind of bugs, but I'll surely be back. read more

Always go here since it's near my husband's office and I'm a fan! A bit pricey for a salad but everything is very fresh and it's an easy lunch when I'm not eating carbs. They have a great selection of specialty salads but I always make my own and choose from their huge selection of toppings (roasted zucchini is my fave). Line during lunch is pretty long (10 minutes or so) so try and get there before noon or after the lunch crowd leaves. read more

Honestly, I think these are some of the best salads around. Really delicious ingredients and quality on all fronts. My challenge with this place is its hours. Very limited and though I know a working area, I still think it would do well at least being open till 5. And half the weekend. It's not cheap but I can stomach the cost when the server then doesn't skimp on ingredients. Some are more generous than others and for the price, should be. read more

The food here is actually pretty good,but it is pretty pricey in relation to the quality and quantity of food. Actually, I guess I shouldn't say quality, because to be honest, the quality of the salad is actually very good, but the quantity not so much. Yes although it is fun and convenient to create your own salad, it really wasnt the best salad i've tasted. I love organic foods and i love salads. BIG SALADS. The portion is not that big, and honestly the chicken seems microwaved. I hope not. It has no flavor. The greens were good but the price is not.
