I especially like Orchard with mix greens, avocado, walnuts, grilled chicken, apples and vinaigrette dressing. Stood by and watched Maeve be AWFUL to all of the customers waiting for their online pick-up orders today. People were slightly perturbed at waiting 30+ mins for their PRE-orders and Maeve came out from the back like a viper. I couldn't believe that somebody who tosses salads for a living could be so bitter and unhappy. The overpriced restaurants in the FiDi are funded by business people looking for something convenient and edible and those business people are fueled on $14 salads. Mixt - you wouldn't want us to have to do something rash like start bringing our own lunches from home, now would you? Rocio kept her cool and took it upon herself to take down pre-orderers' names and go in the back to double-check. Nobody even asked her to do that, she just did it to be nice and efficient. This location started out really good, but the quality has gone down since. Once upon a time the service was quick and efficient, the portions are methodical and the price was decent for the area. Now they have taken a more lackadaisical approach to service and food standard with price the only constant. I have ordered the Beatnik salad at least 5 times. The first two was fresh, tasty and satisfying. The last three was either mixed improperly, overdressed or missing ingredients. This review is only this location on Kearny St. It will not deter me from trying other Mixt locations. read more

I came to Mixt Greens today for lunch with my coworker and the lady who helped me, Eybi, was so nice and helpful. I wanted the orchard salad but I am not a big fan of mixed greens or strong flavored lettuce so she offered the butter lettuce and It was so delicious! I have walked by Mixt Greens several times but haven't gone inside because of the long line and so many choices in my limited time that I have decided to go elsewhere. I'll start by saying that I've been a Mixt loyalist since they first opened their location on Sansome back in 2007-ish. At some point a few years ago, I started experiencing...well, let's just call it "post-meal distress" a few hrs following whatever fancy schmancy salad I just ate. At first I thought it was a fluke (with my guts o'steel), but this scenario played itself out repeatedly across Mixt locations, so I tried to pare down the ingredients. Logic intervened and said, "Dude," [yes, Logic begins every sentence with "dude"], "shouldn't this be happening with any of the other [insert crummier local salad options here]?" At some point in time which I cannot pinpoint precisely, my system just flat-out decided on its own that it would be rejecting (or, shall we say, hastily e-jecting) all things Mixt. Everything always tastes fresh across locations, and the after-effects fortunately are short-lived - but still a common denominator. I've attempted a conversation or two with the manager at this location awhile back - always cordial, and they seemed willing to delve into helping anyone with actual (or potential) food allergies; I'd been wondering if it has something to do with the ingredients in the dressings. But tell me Mixt, in all seriousness, what is it about your processes or supply chain that could contribute to / cause / exacerbate this sort of thing? I appreciate that your ingredients are all organic, but ["dude..."] how exactly are you scrubbing the aphids off your kale? I dig Mixt but have had to remove them from rotation out of gutteral self-respect. read more
