    The Orchard
    Robert K.

On a warm summer day, nothing beats a fresh Orchard salad from Mixt. What I like about Mixt is that they are consistent. They have several locations throughout the bay area, and every salad is prepared the same using the freshest ingredients. I have tried most of their salads, but my favorite is the Orchard. It's a mixture of kale, mixed greens, grilled chicken, Applewood smoked bacon, sliced apples, sharp cheddar, avocado, toasted almonds, herbs and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Caution - it may be a salad, but it's over 900 calories! Excuse me while I do my 10k steps to burn off this "healthy" salad.

Seasonal Peach Salad - 3 stars, overall ok, peach not ripe. Carrot ginger juice - 4 stars, great. Takeout lunch 2023-09-27

I got a seasonal peach salad. It had some nice fall flavors, was overall ok. Not too much peach, and the peach itself wasn't ripe. 3 stars. Also got the carrot ginger juice and that was very tasty. 4 stars.

My favorite place to get salad in Fidi during work. I always get the Puebla and love the variety of ingredients. Everything is always so fresh and portions are decent.

Ahhh MIXT. Came in today during lunch hours. Line may look long, but goes QUICK! You can either pick a salad, bowl, plate and sandwich from the menu or create your own.. I picked the Caesar salad, with light dressing. The salad is really your money's worth. Loaded with food!! I usually eat all of my salad at Ladle and Leaf, but I got full half way! Flavors are fresh and good but dressing is a bit overpowering.. Might have to ask for dressing on the side next time.. Great place for lunch in FIDI. Multiple locations all around which is a plus.

Rooster Sandwich: Grilled chicken, sharp cheddar, basil pesto, arugula, and aioli on a torpedo roll, no sliced seasonal apple ($12.49)

3.5 STARS For our weekly office lunch, I wanted to try Mixt. The problem is, I didn't want just a salad. When I saw they also served sandwiches, I decided to try one. Our delivery order arrived via Caviar on Friday, July 13th around 12 noon. Design Your Own Salad: Your choice of greens, five specialty ingredients, and gluten and GMO free dressing ($10.40) *Mixt Greens *Carrot *Cucumber *Egg *Cherry Tomatoes *Fresh Mozzarella *Sriracha Ranch Dressing *Add Grilled Chicken (+$3.66) *Add Sriracha Ranch Dressing (+$0.52) So one of my coworkers is not a salad eater, but got the salad above. For Friday lunches, she typically wants something heavier and more satisfying. I gotta say, these salads are huge! She actually couldn't finish it. For dressing lovers, it's a good idea to get an extra side if you like a lot of dressing. The portion is fairly big, so you might need one and a half to fully dress the entire salad. I ended up getting the Rooster Sandwich: Grilled chicken, sharp cheddar, basil pesto, arugula, and aioli on a torpedo roll, no sliced seasonal apple ($12.49). The picture of the sandwich on Caviar looked kinda small and sad, but I gotta say, it was a decent size. I did wish there was more pesto as I didn't taste much. I also found the chicken a little dry. One plus, the sandwich came with a side salad. I adore my greens, so I was happy. I didn't really like the dressing they provided. I think it was a dijon mustard type of dressing. Luckily my coworker had extra sriracha ranch, so I had my salad with that. Great salads. Okay sandwiches. Rounding up as most come for salads anyways.

    Raw chicken found in salad
    Tania C.

unfortunately had a bad experience after several (10+) visits. Bit into some chicken, felt/looked raw and pink, and immediately took the salad back. Manager was hesitant and didn't believe it was raw, despite seeing the pink chicken, and asserting that it was simply the bone (it wasn't the bone). Sadly didn't offer a solution, we had to ask for a refund. He complied and we went about our day without lunch. Mixt needs a bit more quality control. Staff is lovely as always though.

When I come downtown this is the place I get my salads, thank you Abdaly for always being friendly and the fast service and also thank you Zury for making me smile today on my busy life schedule

    Another fly in my salad.

Unfortunately today I received a salad with no toppings and not one but two flies. Sigh.

I just felt like some of the entree prices were overpriced. On top of that-I wasnt aware of the 5% SF "tax". Other than that-pretty happy all around. This was a great appetizer to share between 2-4 people. The tofu is soft and chewy while the pineapple is crunchy and fresh. The glaze on top is slightly spicy but pairs well with the sweet pineapple. The portion is a good size for an appetizer and the tofu makes it feel like a substantial dish. - roasted cauliflower (8/10): charred cauliflower florets on a bed of sikil pak topped with pickled onions and cilantro. This was my favorite of the dishes we ordered. The sikil pak is a unique spread that I had not seen before. The main ingredients are pumpkin seeds, tomato, and habanero, with the texture of a hummus but the flavor of a salsa. It is also a good size to share as an appetizer between 2-4 people. - garlic butter udon (6/10): udon coated in garlic butter with macadamia nut crumbles on top. This sounded good but was a bit of a letdown after the appetizers. I was hoping for more unique flavors or textures. An addition of something fresh like a pesto drizzle or roasted tomatoes may have added a boost of flavor and color. - kale walnut pesto rigatoni (7/10): rigatoni with kale and walnut pesto topped with blistered cherry tomatoes. I liked pasta better than the udon. The pesto was creamy yet fresh from the pistachio and lemon. The tomatoes added color and sweetness. The portion is good to serve one person or shared when mixed with other dishes. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes, though I would order more of the appetizers and I liked them better than the entrees.

Ambiance: A small clean store with a small high top area, another high top table outside, and a bench to sit outside while enjoying your matcha and food. Service: Food / drinks ordered via a worker at the front with a menu to the left to see options available. Staff were friendly and helpful during interaction. Wait time: Not an extremely long wait between ordering and receiving food and drink. A buzzer is given to you which rings when your food is completed. Food: The yuzu salmon onigiri had a decent serving of salmon inside and on top of the rice. Good salmon flavor but slightly lacking in yuzu flavor. Chicken Curry onigiri: a mild curry flavor which again had a decent rice to chicken ratio. The chicken did taste slightly dry despite the curry sauce likely due to the nature of being a ground meat. Matcha Latte c Pistachio Cream was easily one of the best tasting matcha drinks I have had in SF. The matcha had a strong flavor and the pistachio cream did not overpower the taste of the matcha. There was a nice sweet, slightly salty, and pistachio flavor from the cream and the addition of the crushed pistachios was not a weird texture for the drink. I would definitely be interested in trying more of their matcha beverages due to quality and size of drink compared to cost.

The ambiance is extremely loud in there and the tables are very close together. So if you're looking for a quiet, less crammed space, this isn't it. The actual restaurant looks very nice, but not sure why the bar seats face a storage area with clear windows. As for the food, the calamari was delicious, they give you whole pieces of little squid. The ramen broth is very hearty and bold. When I was halfway through, it became a little too much. I do wish you're able to pick the thickness of noodles. I didn't like the thin noodles with the ramen. It actually reminded me of instant ramen. But to each their own with noodle thickness. I just wish there were options. I almost wish there was something else in the ramen to balance out the flavor besides more bold flavors from the pork and egg. It does the job but wasn't a huge wow factor. As for the service, they are pretty attentive. I didn't like how one of the servers kept hovering around the entire time grabbing anything they could off the table. The second we took off the wrappers of the chopsticks, they grabbed it. Usually I like the table cleared out to make space but it was the constant hovering that was awkward.

The octopus was prepared perfectly, tender with no rubberiness at all which is always the make or break on that dish. Highly recommend all of the items we tried! The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is that they were out of the chatamari and chicken momos when we visited, which was a little disappointing since those were on my must try list. Hopefully next time they have everything in stock. Will definitely be back!
