I don't know why I just assumed they were nationwide because there are so many in SoCal - but I was in SF with a bunch of colleagues from all over the country and they hadn't heard of TGs. At this location there is seating indoor and outdoors and is very walkable if you're nearby. Be careful during lunch time - literally right when we sat down the line was all of a sudden out the door and tons of people crowding to grab their pick up orders. The chaos was real. I thought, based on the photos, this was going to offer vibrant, filling bowls of healthy eats with options for people of all diets. And maybe that's true based on what you get? But The Happier Vegan bowl was pretty anemic. It comes with "baked falafel, farro salad, hummus, pasta pearls, heirloom cherry tomatoes, baby lettuce, and sunflower seed pesto". Only the falafel were small, soggy patties that had no flavor (I've actually never had falafel that tasted quite like this or had this kind of gooey interior consistency); the farro salad and pasta pearls were also flavorless and somehow the same exact texture as each other; the baby greens was mostly inedible core; and, the avocado I added for nearly $2 was four nickel-sized pieces. The whole dish was underwhelming and incredibly oily due to the pesto (I'm glad I used it sparingly). In my experience, there are better lunch options for quality, price, and dietary restrictions in this area of SF! read more

I placed my order first and I had pick up at 11:37 AM. A second colleague had hers for 11:40, and the last two orders were for 11:45 and 11:47. We thought ordering before the lunch rush would be sufficient enough to eat and walk over together with our department. Since our office isn't too far away, the walk over was nice. There wasn't a huge line yet, but the staff were working hard on pick-up orders and some in-store orders. -WHAT I ORDERED- I ended up ordering the following: -Fried chicken plate with seasonal veggies and roasted potatoes $14.85 -Seasonal apple cobbler $4.95 Total: $25.57 w/ fees, bag charge, etc. -REVIEW- I have to say that even after a few years, the pick-up ordering is still a mess. Thankfully my order was ready for pick-up by the time I walked to the restaurant, but my colleagues were waiting an additional 10-20 minutes after their pick-up time. I would say we didn't get back until a bit past 12 after walking there around 11:30-11:40. I felt bad for the coworker who had the pick-up time at 11:40 because she waited the longest out of all of us, and she ordered after I did and we practically got the same things. My go-to was always the steak, fried chicken, or salmon. The fried chicken when I got it was dry and not as crispy anymore. It wasn't the same as I remembered it to be. I did like the seasonal veggies since they were seasoned well with curry! However, they were pretty much soggy and some lost their crunch/bite. However, my stomach started hurting a bit after eating half of everything. The potatoes were decent - just as how potatoes should be and the bread itself was good. It got a bit soft, so I didn't get that crunch I was expecting. The cobbler itself - the topping was a bit dry. but I absolutely loved the filling. To make the bread/topping part softer, I placed all the whipped cream on top and waited a bit to eat everything. Not the best cobbler I had, but it was a nice treat considering it wasn't overly sweet, and I loved the filling itself. -OVERALL- The food is decent and for the price you pay - it's a lot better than other places in the city. If you want healthy eats, they have tons to choose from depending on what your diet is. I have to say the service could be better and I wished the food was more fresh tbh. Seems like some items might be sitting around for a bit. Otherwise, the only thing I wished they could improve on is their pick-up ordering system and how they manage each order.
