    Banana shake
    Angela C.

I got the special seasonal banana shake and it was what I expected although, after the fact, it makes sense by their image displayed. The bottom was like watery banana flavored liquid and the top was like a soft serve vanilla ice cream. Not sure if you were maybe supposed to mix it to get a shake texture? It's was OK. It's a tiny spot, seemed popular but I don't think it's for me. The kids working there were friendly and helpful.

You're honestly getting the quality you pay for, but it's a solid option when you want something quick, cheap, and convenient.

Easy to order via kiosk, fast service for the drinks. Lots of kids enjoying soft serve and shake drinks (especially since school has just begun). For me, yes the price was budget friendly but taste was not there. The green lemonade tea sounded so refreshing so I ordered it with pearl balls, which was the first mistake on my part. This drink would have probably tasted better with the coconut jelly or just no toppings. The pearl balls were too chewy which took away from being a refreshing drink. To add, the drink had a bit of an artificial taste. Don't think I would be trying this again. The second drink was the milk tea with pearl balls added. The milk tea drink was great (especially at 50% sugar) but again, the pearl balls made the drink not worthwhile. With continuous customers coming in, maybe it was just a bad choice on my part with the pearl balls for both drinks.

My sister was excited when this shop opened and wanted to come after not being able to try it during her vacation. We've been here a few times since opening and each time they have a line going out the door but it moves relatively quickly. The claim to fame can be attributed to its low priced quality cones or nvidia Jensen Huang's food tour/review of their drink. The staff has been extra friendly and helpful and can walk through the menu with you as well. In my opinion, their ice cream cone is the star as it's cheap and tastes great. They have a few different flavor options as well. I've tried some of their drinks and I'd only recommend the strawberry jasmine tea. All the other ones I've had did not taste good.

Have you tried the new Mixue Ice Cream & Tea at the Quail Hill Shopping Center? It's Chinese based Ice Cream and Tea. This is what I ordered: MIXUE Fresh Lemonade -super fresh and refreshing! Sweet Mango Jam with Soft Serve -super delicious and creamy with mango jam MIXUE Soft Serve - super creamy on a cone They have cute merch and blind boxes. Everything is under $5. It is affordable and it is so delicious. Order yours via kiosk or @Fantuan_oc app. You have to try it the next time you are in Irvine.

We were nearby so decided to make a stop and try Mixue. We ordered through the self kiosk and picked up our ice cream and drinks at the counter when our number was called. The matcha and vanilla was very good and smooth. It was definitely a good soft serve. It is not a lot of ice cream but it was good value for the price. Affordable and convenient. For those who aren't interested in soft serve, there are also drinks available. We ended up getting the jasmine tea, lemon black tea, and orange fruit tea. Everything was refreshing and perfect level of sweet. It all tasted freshly brewed as well. We were amazed by the amount of care taken into making the soft serve good and same with the taste of the drinks. We would definitely come back!

This place is super cute and affordable! Where else can you get a huge ice cream cone for less than $2? I saw this place a lot on TikTok and decided to try it with a friend. It's in the Quail Hill plaza, so lots of parking and seating outside. I opted for the chocolate cone which was $1.69, slightly more expensive than the classic vanilla. It was good! Nothing crazy, but definitely well worth it. They also have super cute merch in the shop! If I keep coming here, I'm sure I'll end up purchasing a keychain. They also have sundaes which look good and boba, so I'll have to come back to try it! Overall, definitely a fun one to go and try, especially in Summer!

While I was expecting a long line during a special opening weekend for Mixue, Mixue staff handled customers well, and my friends and I were able to take advantage of their opening promotion. I tried their mango fruit tea and also got to try their signature vanilla soft serve. The mango fruit tea was refreshing & fruity without being overly sweet, which made it a wonderful drink on a warm day. The vanilla soft serve was creamy, smooth, and a great treat!

For the price, there's no beating this ice cream. I've definitely had better quality ice cream, but it wasn't bad and for $1.19 I'll definitely take it. Space was quite chaotic when I went but the staff was overall nice. The bad was the boba quality - extremely squishy and the tea quality wasn't great. The prices of the drinks weren't super high either, but not super cheap like the ice cream. Overall would be back for the ice cream but wouldn't get the drinks again.

    Strawberry coconut milk
    Amy L.

Worried about the reviews but I tried it anyways and had a good experience! The vanilla soft serve was very creamy (saw a review that said it was icy and I'm guessing maybe that was a one off). Drinks were not as cheap as I thought based on how my friends hyped the place up but it's definitely on the lower end when you consider all these "premium" tea shops. I tried the strawberry coconut milk and it wasn't bad. There was almost no line on a weekday evening.

We were super excited to visit the new Mixue in Irvine because we saw so many locations while traveling in Asia but never jumped at the chance to try it. The line wasn't too long, despite being opened for less than a week. There are self-service kiosks for ordering, but we placed our order with the cashier. Unfortunately, the matcha soft serve wasn't available during our visit, but it should be available now. We ordered the regular soft serve, Super Mango Sundae, Super Cookies Sundae, Super Strawberry Sundae, and the Super Strawberry Shake. Everything was $3.49 or less!! Everything was less sweet than we expected, which made the desserts really refreshing. The portions were generous, and it's comparable to a McDonald's McFlurry in terms of pricing so value is amazing! We'll definitely come back for a quick dessert fix since it's not too heavy and it's so cheap!!

Decent drinks, a cute but a little dirty place. We got the affogato, the jasmine milk tea and the pudding milk tea. They were all decent and I especially liked the ice cream in the affogato. Pretty fast service, we were in and out of there in no time.

With the soft serve being $1.19, this is a great place to grab soft serves and sundaes to satisfy the cold sweets craving. Their classic soft serve quality is pretty creamy, but I personally prefer the matcha soft serve even though it does cost slightly more than the classic. It's a little less sweet and you can taste the matcha. I also enjoyed their cocoa cookie sundae, though I wish there was an option for a matcha soft serve or a cookie-only sundae (no chocolate syrup). I'll continue stopping by here for ice cream. Personally the drinks are whatever for me. I tried one of their more popular drinks, peach oolong tea, and I found it too sweet even when I got it less sweet and I couldn't really taste the tea. I gotta give it to them that it's cheap drinks though and they're quick!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!…read more I haven't been to Honeymee for sooo long but I used to go and love it in LA koreatown and Sawtelle. My friend and I noticed things have changed much with Melo Melo, so we walked acrossed the street and were deciding between HeyTea and Honeymee, but we were SO GLAD we went with Honeymee to sit inside at the cute table. The lady(owner?) was so sweet and of course, my OG Honeymee was sooo GOOD. My friend's yuju drink was so refreshing and yummy, too. However, if you don't want to talk to anyone while ordering, a kiosk is available. Personally, my favorite item is the Sweetie, which has true milk ice cream drizzled with honey. The Honeymee -- true milk ice cream with honeycomb -- is also pretty good if you're into honeycombs. My bf's favorite is the Dear Caramel, which has a caramel drizzle topped with what is reminiscent of dalgona coffee bits. The milkshakes here are also a solid choice. While I'm still sad that my favorite and closest Honeymee location in Garden Grove closed a couple of years ago, the Irvine location is pretty reliable in terms of consistency and service.

The line wasn't too bad - since we were figuring out our strategy of which flavors to try and which flavors each of us wanted to get. They were incredibly generous with their scoops, the ice cream itself is the most amazing thing ever!!! All of the very unique and delicious flavor options, and the unique texture and taste of the Persian ice cream was absolutely delicious. We were just bummed out that we couldn't finish our ice creams (we shared and did our best, but absolutely could not). So we asked for a lid and attempted to bring it home, but it unfortunately spilled. Oh well, we definitely got our money's worth of the ice cream and had an incredible time here. However, I was still more than happy to check them out when my gf suggested coming here. All of their hype and praise was certainly a big reason why, as well as me wanting to see what Persian ice cream tastes like, but, quite simply, how could I ever say "no" to trying a new ice cream shop? Especially to cap off such a warm evening out! While I can't say how this location compares to their spot in LA, I liked how low-key and unassuming this place felt. Past the counter/register, there's a small amount of seating to the back, but there's also a bunch of seats and tables right out in front. More importantly, though, their display case of ice cream is chock full of enticing options. Inspired by ingredients and flavors from around the world, Saffron Rose's roster of flavors is quite diverse. What's more, from their Mango and French Espresso to their Saffron & Pistachio and Passionfruit, they all looked equal parts unique and delicious! -- FRENCH ESPRESSO While it may not have been quite as amazing as I had hoped, this was still pretty good. Although I wish the taste of the espresso had been more robust, it still had a decent coffee flavor to it that I really liked. -- PASSIONFRUIT I got this mostly because I wanted something a bit tart and citric to balance the French Espresso and it did the trick. The passionfruit was refreshing and I liked that the taste of it wasn't overly acidic. -- SAFFRON WITH PISTACHIO Presumably their namesake flavor? Either way, this may not have been my favorite flavor, but it wasn't bad. The taste of saffron was decently strong and I liked how the pistachios in this added some texture. -- MANGO Of all of the flavors I've tried, this is easily my favorite. Not only did it feel rather refreshing (especially on such a warm night), but it also had a surprisingly strong taste of mango to it. -- POMEGRANATE Unfortunately, this was pretty disappointing. Much like when I got the passionfruit flavor, I wanted something fruity and light to offset the pistachio, but this was a little bit sharp and acidic for my liking. -- GREEN PISTACHIO I love pistachios, so I had some high hopes for this one, but it missed the mark for me. For whatever reason, the taste of pistachios didn't come across as well as it did with the other flavors and the chunks of pistachios felt surprisingly soft. -- PINK ROSE My least favorite of the bunch, but, to be fair, I'm also just not a fan of floral flavors and the rose water showed up most prominently in this one. Even though the first couple of bites were okay, the taste of the rose was too much for me after that. Regardless of the flavor, one thing I noticed about Saffron Rose's ice cream is that they're somewhat similar to gelato, but with a slightly gummier texture to them. What's more, all of the ice cream is made with rose water, which, as mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of, though it was pretty subtle in all of them except the Pink Rose. Also, I didn't care for the wafers they give you either. While I appreciate that they can complement the ice cream well (they resembled those classic cake ice cream cones), the wafers had more of a soft, semi-stale texture rather than a crisp one (unless that's they way they're supposed to be). All and all, considering how they're one of the only Persian ice cream joints around, Saffron Rose is by no means bad in any way. At the very least, their ice cream is certainly unique and even better than some of the gelatos I've had. However, as someone who prefers a more classic, creamy scoop of ice cream, I think Saffron Rose is just okay. My gf, on the other hand, is definitely a fan, so I'm sure more scoops of their Mango and French Espresso will be in my future the next time we visit when we're back in town again! THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down.
