Trialing the thin noodles was probably the wrong move; the thick hand pulled ones would've stood up to the savorineas much better. Large portion. Beef noodle soup: The thick hand pulled noodles were homey and delicious, just the right texture with some alternating thin and thick chewiness that reminded me of home. The beef noodle soup was quite light without any real beef flavor, though comforting nonetheless. Some pieces of beef were chewier and not completely cooked through while others were tender and melt in your mouth. I'd return when in the mood for a bowl of thick hand pulled noodles and maybe some healthy sauteed vegetables.

BEWARE I (female) came here on 4/10/2023 for dinner. As we were being seated, a male customer was leaving and held his phone upright directly at me, as if taking photos, before quickly exiting the restaurant. I immediately felt violated and brought this up with our waiter, who said he'd tell his colleague. His colleague was dismissive and aloof, and responded only with his claim that he could not do anything about it. To make matters worse, we were told this customer is a regular who patrons the restaurant at least weekly. My goal in relaying this incident was to alert the restaurant of such behavior from the customer and so they can have the information needed to keep their restaurant and other customers safe, ESPECIALLY if this suspicious customer is a known regular. I understand the restaurant staff are not law enforcement, and cannot take any legal action in response. I told the colleague of my intention, but there was no change in course of action from his side. Neither our first waiter and nor his colleague ever even TRIED to acknowledge my experience, nor did they make any effort to contact their manager or owner to hopefully better deal with the issue. Literally not even an ounce of concern was shown. Staff needs training to say the least, but beyond that, they need to develop some basic human decency and empathy. If you decide to visit this restaurant, please be vigilant. For reference - the guy who took photos was Asian male in his 20s, around 5'10", skinny, had hooded and monolid eyes, and short black hair. read more

I ordered the chow mein and while it was flavorful and had a good mix of ingredients, it didn't stand out in any particular way. The portion size was also a little on the small side. The service at ML Kitchen was fine. Our server was friendly and efficient, but nothing particularly stood out about the service. The restaurant itself has a casual, counter-service atmosphere which was fine, but not particularly inviting. I was visiting Chicago for business and I found this gem. I read some of the reviews and tried their salt and pepper chicken wings and the reviews were right, it was soo good! I also got to try a new drink before they released it. It was their Matcha Lemonade, it was soo good! It was a great summer day too in their outside patio. I have ordered multiple times from this place through ubereats and have had mostly good experiences. One time I ordered general tso's and did not enjoy it but that is the one exception. Items I enjoy are the fried rice, orange chicken and shrimp wonton soup. Everything is always prepared well for delivery and arrives hot with napkins, utensils and sauces. The noodles arrived hot and were spicy as requested, which I appreciated. However, the chicken was extremely bland and honestly tasted old, which really took away from the dish. The toppings overall were not up to par with my standards, especially considering I paid extra for some of them and didn't receive what I ordered. I had higher expectations given the good reviews, but this experience fell short. I really wanted to like this place, but between the incorrect order and lackluster quality, it was a letdown.

We had the dry chili chicken (lazi chicken), dry bean curd and peanut in spicy sauce, fatty beef, sliced pork dry bean with chives, and Yangzhou fried rice. First off, it's a to go order, so I knew it won't be as good as if I was to dine in and eat right away when brought to the table. Even so, I find the chili chicken bland (surprising). We asked for extra spicy, but it was pretty mild (again, surprising for a Sichuan restaurant). I love dried bean curd so ordered two dishes. They were also kind of bland. The fatty beef was pretty good, beef was tender. The fried rice was ok as well. But the main concern which will deter me from going back again is that we waited 45 min to get our to go order when it was a 'timed' order for a 2:30 PM pick up on a week day. With so many options in Chicago, not sure if I will repay a visit anytime soon.
