Pizza places are popping up all over the place, and I do believe MOD is here to stay! I stopped here before going to the last show of the Muny because I had heard they pride themselves on fast service and I had limited time. Their crust is thin but crispy; you can build your own or choose one of their recipes. The best thing is, you could pick every topping they offer and they will not charge you extra! They offer salads and a few starters. We recommend the garlic strips and any of their salads. Just like the pizza, they don't skimp on their salad offerings either. My husband and I tend to have a pizza night each week and we decided to change it up and try this place. We left happy and definitely will be back! It was nice to be able to watch them make our pizzas and salad to our liking. I wish there were a few more different veggie toppings. I'm not a huge fan of most veggies on my pizza. I like more "out there" kinds like broccoli, zucchini, roasted potatoes, and even brussels sprouts. I went with a cheese pizza but with several types of cheeses. My husband ordered one of their suggested pizzas. I also ordered the smallest size salad, which ended up feeding us both. The pizzas came out quickly, which we really appreciated being that we have a small child whose patience wears thin at long meals. The lemonades and teas they make look so good! I wish they had talked those up when I was being rung up, because I didn't see them before paying and I would have ordered one. I will order one next time. This pizza was without a doubt the worst pizza we have ever ordered. $30 for three large pizzas and they are all in the trash. What a waste of time and effort. The bacon sausage pizza tasted like dog food. I hate to trash businesses, especially local ones but we will never ever order from here again. read more

MOD Pizza is always good. I had a 6" Maddy with mushrooms. My daughters had an 11" gluten-free crust with pepperoni, sausage, and hamburger, which they said was excellent. We also had a spinach and asiago salad. Huge bowl. I had been to the Maryland Heights location many times, but this location is better- there was pleasant background music instead of loud noise trying to be appealing to 13 year-olds. Total cost of our pizzas, salad, 3 sodas, and tax = about $39. read more

Friendly staff and excellent salad and pizza Made On Demand. You can get a mini or mod size salad and or pizza. You're able to add as many fresh toppings (meat, veggies, etc.) as you want and the price doesn't change. Pizza is only available with thin crust due to the fast bake of the oven. For dessert you can get mini size cinnamon sticks or a milk shake. Both are delicious!! Extras: Gluten free crust is available for a few dollars more. You can get dairy, gluten and soy free Daiya cheese. The red sauce is not vegan, there is mozzarella cheese in it. We started with a Deluxe Salad; greens, chicken, salami, peppers, tomatoes, olives and parmesan. I added roasted peppers and artichokes, for no additional charge. Our pizza of choice was the Jasper. I was given no plates, no silverware, etc. They didn't bring food out, and I was only one of three patrons in the restaurant. Workers were there to collect a paycheck but that was it. MOD is one of my favorite "fast" food joints in Kirkwood! It is perfect for a night where you don't feel like cooking at home, but want a quick fix. The pizza is absolutely delicious and you can make it just the way you want it. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is very quick. Just discovered this place and went there twice in one week because we were impressed the first time. Our pizzas ordered online were ready on time despite the second time being a very busy Sunday night. Staff is friendly, price so reasonable for anything you want on the pizza - lots of choices. Daughter likes the fig balsamic sauce. I also like the blackberry lemonade and carmelized pear ice tea they have. I rarely eat pizza because they are always way too greasy for me, but these were not! I am thrilled to get a fresh-tasting, healthful pizza with my fav toppings of spinach and artichoke, which are not common. The have corn and arugula, too. Thin crust only, but for me, this pizza is as good as it gets. Non-greasy means you can throw the whole box into the recycle bin instead of taking up a lot of space in your kitchen trash bin. Definitely a fan! I am not sure why this place isn't rated higher. They have always been quick, accurate, and friendly - not to mention well priced. That said, I have been here at least 5 times now. I have tried different pizzas from their menu as well as building my own from scratch. Each time, the pizza tastes great and comes out quickly. I like the fact they server alcohol - i haven't purchased, as I am usually getting lunch, but I would indulge if I came through on a weeknight. the atmosphere is very fast casual with a local flare. Could definitely use a little buffer between the lines and the seats, but its not bad at all. read more

they are so nice and accommodating to middle school students that come into there restaurant!! unlike many restaurants and stores in the dtk area they treat teenagers amazingly! If they have a pizza that wasn't picked up or they made it wrong they will shout out free pizza for a kid who doesn't have money for lunch. While i was paying the oh so very sweet cashier was making sure all of my friends had lunch and if they didn't she offered to make them one on the house! this is the best place in dtk to eat and the only place that isn't ageist so thank you mod!! read more

I work in the area and eat here quite often. It's pretty hard to top this place. The staff is great, they always greet you when you walk in, assuming they aren't swamped at the time. If you pick a pizza on the menu they will make it as is. You can still add additional items or remove unwanted toppings. They walk you through this... Also, all the food is in front you, buffet style, there are even signs that tell you the names of the toppings (helps when it comes to a various cheese toppings. You might be unfamiliar with how they look before they're melted). All you have to do is point at what looks good and ask them to add it to the pizza. The only downside is the people ordering, which has nothing to do with the staff, but can add to the wait time. The staff can only move as fast as the person picking the toppings. Maybe moving the menu closer to the window and further back in the line (or adding a second menu there) would help. The "MOD" size is $8.55, including tax. It's pretty good size, too. A coworker and I sometimes split one. In my opinion, for the price of the pizza, the size and flavor this is the best "downtown" option for food in Kirkwood. After you order the pizza the weight time is typically 5-8 minutes. read more
