We are such big fans of Mod Pizza. The cauliflower crust is excellent and doesn't make you miss real dough at all, but when you do eat regular crust it is also pretty top notch! Michael helped us out today and gave us exactly what we were looking for! The roasted garlic is fantastic and I always say I will take as much of it as you're willing to part with. :) thanks to Mod we were also introduced to Mikes Hot Honey, a great pizza dipper along with their ranch. And mamas lil sweet hot Peppas is also a special item not found elsewhere (to my knowledge). Prior to Covid we came here Tuesday nights for $2 drafts of delicious Cali beers, really hoping they will bring that back one day! At least they're still serving them regularly for $5 & they have pitchers too. Missing the draft juice options as well! The green sauce on seasonal rotation is great when that comes around, and hoping they will let some thin crust cheesey bread work it's way on the menu. Cheers. read more

This location has consistently demonstrated over the last couple of years the absolute worst customer service. When we order in person, thinking that this time will be different, we are reminded each time what the definition is for insanity. Each time we dine or order in, we are treated as if we are inconveniencing the people behind the counter. Takeout usually isn't an issue, but tonight, when I was halfway through with my first piece of pizza, I realized something was missing and had to double check my order to see if I messed up. Turns out I didn't mess up. What I received was a side-eyed glance, a big sigh, an eye roll and a bad attitude, all in the form of a pizza. I had chosen three cheeses for this particular pizza, and what I received was a tiny sprinkling of what I'm assuming is cheese in the very center of the pizza, and the rest of it is sauce only. MOD Pizza in the 90034 had a sneak peek day today to help train new employees before the official grand opening this week. Overall, the pizza and service were great, even while they were working out a few kinks. I hope Palms is excited because they're getting a really great, quick service, "made on demand" pizza place where that random yogurt spot used to sit near Albertsons and CVS. With just enough hipsterness, MOD is breathing some much needed life into an otherwise pretty dated shopping center in good ole' Palms. Similar to Blaze Pizza in Culver City (and well, the other MOD locations), at MOD, you choose a pizza size + any toppings you want and get a fresh, made to order personal pizza within a few minutes. Where Blaze is kind of like the Subway for pizza, MOD is a little more like the Jersey Mike's. The interior is a little more hip, cleaner, but most importantly, the pizza is a little better. MOD seemed to take a little bit longer than Blaze, but they were also training today and ironing out inefficiencies along the way. Our pizzas were cooked perfectly, even when I added 12 different toppings to my pie. The crust is soft with a nice saltiness. They also have a bunch of tipping sauces for your crusts if you're the dipping type. My pizza could have used a little more cheese, but that's on me. I should have asked for more! For the medium MOD-sized personal pizza, you'll pay about $8ish. Like The Counter, you can order set menu items or choose your own toppings. They also have milkshakes that are pretty decent - better than McDonald's, but not quite ready to take down In n Out on the shake front. If you're planning to check out the new location with a group, I'd limit it to around 4 people. There's some seating inside, but limited options for big groups. Since "Made on Demand" pizza is still kind of a novel thing, this is a pretty cool, inexpensive place to take a friend from out of town. Overall, our experience at MOD's sneak peek day was great. MOD's pizza was delicious, staff was friendly, and interior is really well done. MOD deserves to quickly become one of the most popular pizza spots in the area. Two things I'd improve about the MOD 90034 location: - Turn down the A/C a little (it was crazy cold inside, but maybe they were stress testing the A/C) - Get boba straws for the milkshakes! When you get cookie dough, it's impossible to get to your cookie dough with the regular straws. read more

I was in town spending time with my family and decided we wanted to get some pizza. I drove past this place and it looked pretty appealing so I turned around to check it out. Walked in and was greeted by the friendly staff. At first I thought it was a typical pizza joint where you order your pizza then sit down and wait but no. It's very similar to Pieology but just like one of the employees told me, "we're better than Pieology". I agree with him because they were in fact better. They had more topping choices, the pizzas were bigger and thicker too. They also have fruit drinks with their Vintage Lemonade being my favorite one. The service is great and the food is top notch. Tonight I have the single-size pesto, fresh basil, garlic, mozzarella, tomato, green pepper, red onion, and artichoke heart with a bottle of Dr Pepper for $13 including the stellar tip I left because the customer service is so adorable. Our local MOD pizza has complimentary WiFi, and even its own app if you are feeling adventurous in the digital wonderland. This is beyond worth the trek out of my rental unit this early evening. Nothing tastes better than gobbling a pizza for under $10 after doing the Culver City stairs! There's preset pizza or you can simply make your own with unlimited toppings. Made my own was what I did! I got to choose from a couple different sauces, a ton of veggies, cheese and meats. There's actually a pretty good variety of stuff to choose from and they'll just pile it on! The toppings are pretty fresh even though it kind of just sits out there, but you're getting what you're paying for and what you're paying for is a pretty good deal! read more

I was there Sept. 24, at 7:15 pm. There were only 2 people in front of me. First off, it was freezing inside. So there was no way I was going to sit there and eat my meal. Secondly, I was waiting for over 20 minutes before I decided to leave because we never even had anyone take our order. They were two of them taking orders, and one of them said they would be with us shortly, then he disappeared. The people ahead of us couldn't make up their minds, and the employee never turned to see that their was even a line. It was the worst service in my history of life. I really liked the one in North Hollywood so I tried this one out. The location is very convenient right on Venice Blvd., just west of Robertson. It is in front of a CVS center and across from a Starbucks. The Staff(Tushana, Steph, Ramon, Josh)is really friendly, professional and very fast considering it was busy. I had the works on my pizza(unlimited toppings here) which was alot of meats, cheeses like gorgonzola and tangy red sauce. The result was really delicious and one of the best pizzas I've had this year. I was ravenous, not having eaten all day and for less than $10 this pizza filled me up with a slice left for breakfast the next day lol. Note: They also have an excellent drink selection of sodas, juices and beers; I had an apple juice. So I have to say Mod(made on demand) is one of the best pizza deals in LA for quality, value and service. I'll have to try some more locations...these guys got it down! read more

Came here for a Yelp Elite event earlier in the year and really enjoyed their pizza! A strained wallet and oodles of errands led me back here, ready to give MOD a second spin. But if you were like I was on my last trip, my mental capacity couldn't be stretched far enough to design myself a pizza. BUT, luckily there are plenty of "ready to order" options planned out for you. I snagged the Tyler, complete with ham, bacon, and pineapple. The medium size pizza will definitely satisfy any pie related hunger residing in your body. And then some. One star because of speed of service. I know...I know, pizzas take a long time to cook. But this wasn't quite that. But the staff is super friendly and helpful! And one of the few places were you don't have to super stress out about parking. Not all build your own pizza spots are created equal. MOD pizza is better than many of the competitors, that I have tried. Pizza Rev is overrated, in my opinion. I can't remember if I've had Pieology. Blaze, is pretty good and Pizza Studio is even better. Actually, Pizza Studio is one of the best and MOD is up there with it. I had the Calexico pizza, and it was delicious. The perfect amount of spice. I was skeptical about the buffalo sauce WITH the marinara sauce, as buffalo chicken pizza usually comes with just the buffalo sauce. But this was pretty tasty and the crust was cooked to perfection. My only gripe is the manager kinda chastised one of his employees in front of me and I HATE that. The employee was very nice, but seemed new. When they turned around and asked a question about what all came on my pizza, the manager repeated the toppings but then stated "You should know this!" Maybe she should've, but you belittle employees in front of customers. It made it awkward and I just went and stood at the end, by the register. All of the employees there on 9/23, before 2pm, were awesome. Very professional and kept smiles on their faces. I was pleased with their customer service. read more

What I love about Mod is that you can either get their pre-set menu or you can modify it to your liking. My son and I especially like that they have Vegan options. Their dough is dairy free. You can choose regular or mega dough. There is Vegan cheese so you can still have that cheesy taste like a regular pizza. Then you can pick whatever toppings they have. I was very disappointed with the restrooms! They say that if you take care of your customers the restrooms tell a lot. So for that they get 3 stars. They were disgusting! I could have taken a picture and decided not too. I understand it was very busy but someone should have been taking care of the restrooms especially that it was a Sunday when everyone is out. Turns out the specialty pizzas have been named after some of the founders children. Their deluxe salad tastes exactly like the pizza with garbanzo beans, tomato, olives, grilled chicken, and green peppers! It's such a great, and healthier alternative to pizza. We are also a big fan of thin crust pizza.. so this place will definitely be on my radar. I LOVE how they just started providing on tap beer. There was 4 to choose from and the Lagunita is by far my fav! Normally i get a good pie when I order from mod online , but this 4th of July weekend when I order for myKid it was bad like it was cold, old tasting, I'm almost 100% sure it was a pie that was canceled and they had it and didn't want to waste it so they gave it to me, crust and bottom was burnt, we asked for extra cheese they did the opposite and gave hardly any to no cheese the sauce was all up by the crust not even on the main portion of the pie, it was just burnt bread all cold and chewy I ended up eating a slice since I gave my kid my food after we got home normally I would go back and be like yo this is crap but it's hard to just take off as a single parent so I'll be avoiding them for a few months hopefully they get back to being good but for now I would avoid this mod and go to another spot... read more

Pizza Rev definitely has got NOTHING on this place. Had I known MOD closes at the same time as Pizza Rev, prob would have driven the extra couple miles to eat here again. Everything I've tried at MOD pizza has been delicious, from their drinks, to their pizzas, to their salads, to their desserts. Price is unbeatable, especially when it's one price and you can put WHATEVER you want on your pizza, as much as you want. The staff at MOD are also particularly friendly and inviting, unlike Pizza Rev. They weren't going to close for another hour and a half, but were treating me like I shouldn't have placed a for-here order. Got a separate review coming up for them.
