No sign out front (I think they were doing modifications and will put one up), but clean and adorable place inside. You sign in and they will seat you. Kento came out to greet us with a big smile and could not have been friendlier and more welcoming. He seated us and Hana was our server. She is another extremely sweet and friendly young lady and makes you feel at home. Our food...yum! My husband had the eggs and rice and it was cooked perfectly and nice flavor. My pancake one the other hand...incredible! I asked for the lilikoi curd and cream cheese topping on the side since I knew I wouldn't eat it all. They call it a short stack, but it was an enormous pancake with a delightful texture. The toppings were fresh made and amazing. This a cute little cafe and it seems like people really like it because there was a list when we got there around 9:30 am. The staff was friendly and asked if we had any questions. Considering the fact that the cafe was busy, the wait was not too long for both getting a table and for receiving food. The waitress was very attentive and kept our water topped off. Moena cafe is a very popular spot for breakfast/brunch amongst locals in the Koko Marina Center. Wait times get long, depending on when you come. I suggest getting there early to put your name down and then walking around. We waited around 30 minutes for a table. I highly recommend the Short Rib Loco Moco with an upgrade to fried rice. Very tender and flavorful! The gravy is so addicting. I finished it so fast they asked if I wanted more food. My husband and I have been to Moena Cafe several times and have never been disappointed until today. I ordered the veggie crepe and it came out on a dirty plate. It was obvious the dish went through the dishwasher and leftover food had hardened onto the plate. I thought I'd move the crepe over to a smaller dish the server presented to me but it was full of grease. I got the servers attention. She said the hardened food on the plate was from the crepe I ordered. I told her no , the crepe wouldn't have hardened that quickly, then I showed her the greasy plate. One of our favorite local breakfast spots on the East side! The food is delicious and ambiance is so cute. We love brining friends and family here when they visit. Moena Cafe always have that wow factor! The restaurant is usually packed so we waited around 20 minutes to get seated. They require your entire party to be here in order to seat you. Once we got our table the service was great and food came out fast. Today we ordered short rib loco moco, "MC" Fruity Pancakes, Banana Chantilly Pancakes and Crab/Kalua Pig Benedict. My favorite was definitely the Crab/Kalua Pig Benedict! I couldn't make up my mind between crab or kalua pig so they let me get half/half. The dish also came with deliciously crispy hash browns. Can I say YUMMY Definitely need to arrive early or plan to wait. We had close to an hour wait. There are about 10-12 tables in the restaurant so I don't think they can feed much over 40 people at a time. Once we ordered we also had a longer than expected wait, however remember everything being made to order, so worth the wait.
