I had high hopes based on the ratings. My order was to-go, so I'm not sure if that factored in to this review. A few of the items I tried to order, such as the Momo roll, is not sold for take-out. I couldn't find a current menu online, so I based my order off an older menu and pictures posted. I live in Montana and thought the sushi there is expensive. But at least you get a sizable order, and it is fresh. That aside, I ordered 2 rolls and a poke bowl. The first roll was 6 small, and I mean SMALL pieces. The second was 8 small pieces. Both rolls easily fit in a burger sized styrofoam container. The bowl was mostly rice and a little bit of ahi tuna on top. I had to request wasabi and ginger, and was given one tiny cup with one piece of ginger and a dab of wasabi. $43 plus tip. We were really looking forward to good sushi, and feel the grocery store sushi is prettier and more sizable. Maybe I ordered wrong but regardless, it was NOT worth the money! Amazing authentic food, wonderful service, and a really unique atmosphere. Found this with my husband when it used to be called "Momo's" and we have brought a new person with us every single time. Momo no Hana recently renovated a bit with a new interior, more seating, and expanded menu with some delicious options like their Aspara bacon or their new soups. Pros: Lots of meal options, authentic Japanese food, great and attentive staff, decent pricing, little to no wait time, quick service or sit down, Cons: Can get pricey if you decide to buy the whole menu lol, located in a really funky corner of a plaza that does not give momo's nearly enough business as it truly deserves. read more

Not a huge fan of cost prohibitive Japanese food which I suppose is synonymous. If you enjoy spending $150 for three people then this will be the place for you. I'm a cheapskate and I like to go eat at places of good value i.e. Tajima. Definitely missable if you're driving on the nearby road as it's tucked into a tiny corner, but this is honestly one of the best food spots in town! They have a wide extensive menu ranging from ramen, yakisoba, to sashimi and classic sushi rolls, and bounces to fried foods and even curry! My favorites would have to be the chanpon ramen and the chicken katsu curry plate. They even serve Japanese sake and fill the cup up to the brim for you! The staff are all super friendly and courteous, and are super helpful if you have any questions about anything on the menu. I really loved the food here, the down side is that they upped their prices. They used to be at least $1-2 cheaper last year. I understand that inflation is real and needed to keep up with it, but to me it's really not worth $12+ for a small bowl with just chicken, a little sauce and rice. Delicious. Got the Okonomayaki, Salmon rolls, and deep fried gyoza. When it comes to deep fried gyoza, many restaurant rely entirely on the fried aspect. Here, they beautifully seasoned the meat. Perfect crisp on the gyoza. Okonomayaki was SO GOOD. Amazing flavor. Salmon was fresh. Not to mention the fantastic service. Felt very welcomed. We will be back! the best japanese restaurant i've ever been to. no exaggeration. it's definitely a hidden gem. it's a pretty small restaurant yet somehow there's always two spots open for my boyfriend and i every time we go in. the staff is super friendly and helpful. some of the nicest people i've met. the food is unlike any other, and it's like that every single time. you can't get genuine, really good japanese food anywhere else. we've been to countless places and nothing is as good as momo. 11/10 absolutely love this place. read more

Great food, only reason not a 5 star is it's basically impossible to do take-out anymore, they don't answer the phones. I get that they want to provide service for the people in the restaurant but they are shooting themselves in the foot here - I don't take up space in the place (it's small) and just give them money in 2 minutes and I'm gone. With not answering the phone, I can't order and the alternative is driving 10 minutes, ordering, waiting 30 minutes - worse for me and them and I'm not going to do it. They really need to figure out how to do take-out orders. read more

We drove out yesterday from Scottsdale because of the reviews and we love Japanese food. Well it was so worth the 40 minute drive. The food was excellent! Their tempura sauce is the best that I have ever had locally. So much flavor! Rio was so kind and attentive. This place left me craving for more. We will be back soon and bring others with us. This quaint spot opens at 4:30, prepare yourself to be waited on by the attentive staff offering a truly refreshing unique experience. The diverse menu offers, soups, salads, sushi, Ramen, curries, and a hundred other delicious dishes. We have yet to eat anything that wasn't absolutely expertly crafted.
