Best ramen in AZ! I absolutely love this place! It is the perfect spot for a bite to eat and a drink after work. A peaceful quiet atmosphere, good drink selection, and some of the best food I've had in my life, quite literally. The wait staff is extremely friendly and courteous, and it is family owned. All the menu items are the mom's own recipes and they are just spectacular. The sushi, sashimi, etc. preparation is absolutely beautiful. I was blown away that such a wonderful place is tucked away in a little corner of AJ, and it's right by my house! I went there every weekday one week to try more of the menu and everything I tried was top notch. The rice bowls are super satisfying, noodle dishes luscious and enticing, curry was pleasant and intriguing, but the ramen is on a whole other level: perfectly soft boiled egg, tender seared pork belly that melts in your mouth, an absolutely divine broth, and fresh ingredients make for the most comforting meal I've had in my life. I am pretty happy this restaurant is back and with a great look! They added the bar, some new menu items and a variety of sake. I do have to add that the sake and beer is only to be consumed while dining in. They also appeared to have added another worker and it really feels like they have come a ways. I had to get my daikon salad with some sushi. I could have that salad everyday it is so delicious. This place has great service, authenticity, a great menu and awesome food!! Nestled in a quiet corner, of many other shops, I had no real expectations. Upon entering, I was greeted with an enthusiastic "ようこそ!!" and sat at an available seat at the counter. I ordered shoyu ramen and a frosty beeru. The ramen arrived piping hot, steam trailing behind as it left the kitchen. I looked, no, GAZED upon the bowl, jewels of liquid fat glistening in the light on the surface. Transfixed by the perfectly sliced pork belly, I gave it a quick tap before bidding it a temporary, sad farewell, tucking it beneath the surface for later. Finally, I gathered a heap of noodles and slurped until the very last one hit my nose with a satisfactory smack. In what felt like a mere minute, I realized I was already lifting the bowl to my lips to sip every drop down. My only regret was not having ordered another. If you're inspired from the last time you watched Tampopo, and sad you can't make it to Japan for dinner tonight, fear not. Make the trip to Momo no Hana, close your eyes, and it's almost possible to feel like you're there. Bonus: the staff is clearly a Japanese family. As a former professional ramen chef and out-of-towner, I am incredibly impressed by the attention to detail and dedication to quality. The tonkotsu is superior to most ramen I had. While the ramen noodles were previously frozen, it is understandable. Fresh noodles are time consuming, but the chef makes up for it with a fantastic broth, toppings, and a wonderful chew on the noodles. My only regret about this place is that it isn't in my hometown, because it would be a wonderful addition to the dedication of quality in Japanese food. read more

I loved it! The place is really small but the food is extremely filling. Shockingly so. I tried the Salmon/Yellowtail Sashimi and was really good and fresh. I didn't taste any freezer burn so don't let that review scare you from trying! I tried their Katsu Curry with Pork and it was delicious! The Gyudon was also stellar !! The rice they used is really high quality. Me and my date couldn't even finish our meals! It was shockingly a lot more than meets the eye. What a hidden gem!! This spot blew me away. We ordered okonomiyaki (I believe it was Osaka style), Albacore tataki, calamari tempura, onigiri, soba, momo roll, and yakisoba. Everything was delicious. Flavors were on point. Service was okay. Limited seating. Our waiters started off attentive but did disappear on us as they got busier with to go orders. Food was slow to come out but they did apologize for the wait. Offered soda but we declined. Overall, it is still worth the drive. Momo no Hana is about as authentic as it gets for Japanese food. I was truly shocked to find Katsu Donburi like I had in Japan in Apache Junction. Yes, in AJ on the west end of Ace Hardware/strip mall off Apache Trail. I am so thrilled I found this place. It's not a big restaurant, only a few tables which were all taken when we arrived shortly after they opened at 430pm. So we ordered to go and it was all delicious. We added vegetable Korokke and vegetable Tempura. Tempura isn't particularly difficult to find these days, but Korokke is not something you see on the menu often. It's mashed potatoes and vegetables mixed together and deep fried. Momo no Hana has perfectly seasoned and fried Korokke. Do not pass these up. As good as the Korokke was, the main event was the Katsu Donburi. The tricky part to this dish is the sauce which makes or breaks it. The chef nailed it. The combination of the rice, pork cutlet, egg and sauce was perfect. It's a nice hearty dish for a chilly February night in Phoenix. I'm really looking forward to trying other dishes and eating in at the restaurant. I noticed they have Sapporo on tap and have several selections of Sake. I get the feeling this place is super busy based on other reviews. It will not detract us and we will return. read more

This is my go to place whenever I need a good Japanese food in AJ. The staff are pretty nice and very friendly. Food is also great!!!

I had high hopes based on the ratings. My order was to-go, so I'm not sure if that factored in to this review. A few of the items I tried to order, such as the Momo roll, is not sold for take-out. I couldn't find a current menu online, so I based my order off an older menu and pictures posted. I live in Montana and thought the sushi there is expensive. But at least you get a sizable order, and it is fresh. That aside, I ordered 2 rolls and a poke bowl. The first roll was 6 small, and I mean SMALL pieces. The second was 8 small pieces. Both rolls easily fit in a burger sized styrofoam container. The bowl was mostly rice and a little bit of ahi tuna on top. I had to request wasabi and ginger, and was given one tiny cup with one piece of ginger and a dab of wasabi. $43 plus tip. We were really looking forward to good sushi, and feel the grocery store sushi is prettier and more sizable. Maybe I ordered wrong but regardless, it was NOT worth the money!
