Within 30 minutes all seats filled and a line forming! The owner was vibrant, grateful we were there and efficient. The food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. We opted for gyoza which was fried to perfection with a spicy dipping sauce, calamari fingers (not rings) and a selection of sushi rolls. Definitely delicious and a fun clandestine experience! First I would've never thought that I would find this little gem in Apache Junction. I can start off by saying this little place was packed and they said the wait time for the food would be 45 minutes. I don't think it took that long but I will say it was worth the wait! We had an outstanding waitress, she was very good with all the tables she was juggling. As a former upper scale restaurant manager the front of the house was run like clock work. I wish I was still in the business so I could steal the waitstaff. Let talk about the food, about the best I have ever had at a Japanese restaurant. If you never tried it, it's a must. Tucked in a corner of a shopping center is a little hole in a wall restaurant. It's hard to find, but so very worth the trip. they've been there since 2018 give them credit they have a large alcohol list but food is mediocre best there's a gentleman that works there his heart is absolutely into it he is polite friendly welcomes every person and every person for coming in. the other gentleman that worked there was expressionless so I think it's a training opportunity. The sushi was average at best, but they charge just as much as you would pay at a regular sushi restaurant. The reason this isn't a regular sushi restaurant is because it's in a run down shopping mall and the restaurant itself is run down. When I first arrived, it smelled like bleach. That's certainly not what you want to smell while you're having dinner. I'm not sure where all the good reviews are coming from, but this place is run down and overpriced and there's nothing that would tempt me to visit again. read more

Delicious and authentic Japanese food!! Kind of in a random location, perfect for those who are visiting the Superstition Mountains! We got the okonomiyaki, katsu curry, salmon sashimi, and a sushi roll (forgot the name)! The service was great and they actually speak Japanese here. Everything was great, minus one star for the okonomiyaki being a bit too saucy for my taste - there also weren't noodles in the okonomiyaki mix! Ok. If you are used to the sushi restaurants in the surrounding area and think they are great, this is not your place. If you have traveled to Japan, Hawaii, or San Francisco, this will remind you of there. This was the most authentic I have found between the Superstitions and South Mountain. The flavors are not for the typical American pallet. I am so excited to have found this place. We had the ahi poke (slightly spicy and WOW), the soft shell crab (the ponzu was a sauce that I have been missing for YEARS, not the typical ponzu you find here), and the Kaisen roll. Great service, okay sushi, and freezer-burned sashimi (except for the salmon). This is a tiny restaurant with only four available tables and eight seats at the bar. We arrived six minutes after they opened, on a Monday, and only one table was available. The wait quickly advanced to one hour for patrons who followed a few minutes later. The staff was super friendly and attentive, and the presentation was beautiful, but the freshness of most of the fish was disappointing. In addition, the Yakisoba had wayyyy too much Chinese Five Spice (or a similar powdered spice) on it. The clove was over-powering and gave the dish a chalky texture until it was mixed in with the wetter ingredients. We had a nice evening, but we aren't in a rush to return. read more

A jewel in the desert! What an amazing surprise to find Momo on our casual trip. I just looked up what was in this area and found this small restaurant and bar had exceptional reviews. For good reason, and I consider myself a sushi snob. We ordered familiar things (Donburi, Nigiri and sashimi) but also tried lots of new things...a jellyfish sesame and a clam wasabi salads, Japanese beers (a matcha ipa, and pale ale) new sakes, and Japanese whiskeys! The service was incredible, J -pop through the speakers, an eclectic evening of customers and informed staff. We dropped a pretty penny, but it was worth it. Hands down the best Japanese food in the valley! I have been wanting to try this place for a while! Drove out when they were closed for refurbishment (used to be Momo Bowl). Then tried another time to call for takeout at 6pm on a Saturday but was unable to get anybody to answer the phone line. Do not let the cons of this place keep you from going. The only other "con" is that it is very small. There were only 4 tables (each seating 4 people I think) in addition to a small bar (I think that sat 6?). So my only suggestion to combat this is to go as early as you can. Otherwise, you can walk in and place a to-go order, but you may have to wait a little while for them to cook it. Pros: EVERYTHING ELSE. The service was absolutely fantastic as the 2 gentlemen working out front were incredibly kind and helpful. The food was SO SO SO GOOD! My husband and I shared the mix tempura, which consisted of shrimp, green beans, broccoli, eggplant, carrot, and one other veggie I can't remember. The batter was fresh, light and crispy. It allowed the shrimp to shine. I got the Sauce Pork Katsu Don. Sliced pork Katsu sits atop a bed of shredded cabbage and rice. It comes with a bit of spicy mustard, use sparingly as it packs a punch! I would probably ask for extra sauce next time to use for the rice. The pork was perfectly crisp outside and juicy tender perfection inside. 10/10 would get again, but there's so many other things I need to try. My husband got the Pork Yakisoba. Everything was very fresh! The noodles weren't super saucy and could have crisped up a bit longer in the pan, but overall it was still a really good dish. We tried ordering the Red Bean Waffle with Ice cream for dessert, but they were out due to the supplier shortages (completely understandable!). Just means I'll have to keep going back and trying again and again! As many other reviews have stated, Momo no Hana truly is a hidden Gem of Apache Junction. Excuse me, am I transported back to my trip to Japan ?? It feels like it and it taste like it, but wait, Im in Apache Junction !?! AJ is a small sleepy town waay east of Phoenix where you would not expect a deep cultural eatery would be located. Momo is small, very clean, simple decor and located in a large strip mall just off the main road, Apache Trail. We were out with some friends on this side of town, and this was on my Yelp bookmarks, so we stopped here for an early dinner. Upon walking in the server greeted us with a bow and sat us at an area that was just sanitized thoroughly (floors, seats and table). The tables were safely spaced apart and had very limited seating, so we felt fairly safe eating here. My first impression, 'authenticity': with it starting from the server (who I believe is part of the family) greeting us in the typical Japanese fashion, "Irasshaimase!" ("Welcome!"), and with him bowing, respectfully, each time he left our table. The menu items are typical of what you see in Japan. Like the 'Okonomiyaki', a popular dish from Osaka, Japan. Its their version of a 'Japanese pizza' or like a savory filled pancake. In comparson to our Kyoto trip, (where we had it cooked at our table), it was spot on and very tasty !! All our dishes were delicious as would be expected from a good chef (owner) from south Japan. And the sashimi, wow.. impressively generous and Fresh...yumm !! ;)~~ Some other items on the menu: Donburis, udons, sobas, ramens, curries, apps, maki sushi, sashimi and Japanese beers and sakés. Now I can see why they were one year on the Top 100 Yelp List in the country! I found this restaurant in Apache Junction when it was Momo Bowl. I had a lovely experience there so when the restaurant reinvented itself as Momo No Hana I couldn't wait to try it. And now for the good and the bad Pros: Very pleasant staff! I love supporting small businesses and everyone working was so nice! The deep fries soft shell crab salad was fried well. A little plain, and the accompanying sauce was very tasteless. Portion size was smaller than I expected, but still, pretty ok. My date got the chicken teriyaki. It was standard. No muss, no fuss Fried mackerel was good! A little small but very tasty. Didn't care for the sauce it came with though. Cons: Omg! The wait was insane. 45 minutes for our items. I watched people who came in after we ordered enjoying food while we sweated in 104 degrees with 50% humidity. (They have very limited seating). We finally get our food and everything was cold/room temperature. So that was super disappointing. We did order to go just fyi. Karaage was small and not crispy unlike what I had at momo bowl Calamari was all breading (which was very nice and crispy) We even received 2 that were hollow! No calamari inside. Conclusion: It was a disappointing birthday dinner for me but, yes, I will go back. It wasn't terrible and there were a few highlights, so I am willing to give them another shot! read more

I love Momo No Hana! This is the only restaurant in the entire area where you can get good quality authentic Japanese food. It's honestly the best restaurant I tried in this area. Everything I tried was very delicious and the service was very friendly. Prices are reasonable and they have a great menu. Small restaurant but worth the wait if you have to. Salmon poké was the best I've tried in Arizona. I am from Hawaii and this is the only poké I've found to be acceptable and delicious in Arizona. Japanese pudding is just like how my grandma makes it.
