Really really good food presentation here and tasting food. A small establishment which may be holds about 50 customers receiving give or take. As we arrived, we had a party of 17 as we were celebrating my daughter getting married the previous day by having breakfast the next morning at this establishment. She had visited here before and liked their food so we all decided to join her this time around. The waitresses were very nice and pleasant from when we were being seated until we finalized our meal here. They also have a very small outside sidewalk seating area as well for maybe about a party of four. And then there are benches outside that you can wait until you're being seated as well. I was fun to be able to have our drinks brought out in mason jars as I enjoyed a Arnold Palmer. My meal choice was Chilaquiles, which were really good as well. You have a choice of red sauce or green sauce and I chose red. Price range of about $20 per person a plate. There are parking spots in front of the establishment and surrounding it is all street parking. But not metered. This is a nice little spot to have your breakfast/brunch of choice and for a nice little gathering of family/friends or even a small department function and or intimate birthday celebration.

We walked into Monarca not expecting much and ended up having the best Mexican food we've ever had, hands down. Every dish was excellent, service was outstanding, and the ambiance was clean and inviting. It's clear this place takes pride in doing things right. Highly, highly recommend, a must-visit if you're craving authentic, delicious Mexican food in Paso Robles!

Delicious brunch spot in downtown Paso! Cute cafe and friendly staff and quick service. I got the Denver omelette with added mushrooms. It came with avocado and choice of bread and either country potatoes or hash browns. They have a bunch of sauces at the table to top your breakfast the food was delicious. Will definitely come again!

Very cute spot with a good variety of breakfast items. I opted for the homemade breakfast plate which was two sopes with beans, chorizo, avocado, and eggs. The door was very good and definitely tasted homemade. The service was hit or miss, but they were very nice.

Monarca has escaped me, seems to be closed everytime I'm looking for a place. They have breakfast and lunch hours M-Th, and longer days F-Su. As it turns out, I've lost out until recently. So damn cute inside, especially during the holidays. So damn nice and helpful, service and management. So damn delicious, owner is also the chef and he knows what he's doing. So damn fresh, from the homemade chorizo, fish, and all the vegies. Basically, they have Mexican food...with a steak & a few seafood options for dinner. I'll be back, and often. Their 3 salsa's made fresh everyday are nothing short of magnificent.

    Breakfast Burrito

Solid option for breakfast/brunch right in the center of town, Monarca is delicious. A cozy setting nestled among several businesses and yet it's comfortable and even something of an oasis once you enter. Holiday lights, for now, but still it's pretty inside. The options are many: Skillets, omelets, sweets, salads and more. I could not resist the carne asada (including rice, beans, squash, carrots, jalapeños, avocado and French fries). All so good and fresh. The rice cilantro built in; the beans were creamy and smooth and delicious. The meat was cooked pretty much to order (MR), and it comes with your choice of corn or flour tortillas. It's huge, and I nearly finished it all! My dining companion got the breakfast burrito which looked good and was, in due time, demolished. There is such a deep menu here that I imagine you probably can't go wrong with whatever catches your eye. I also liked the coffee; a good bodied, non-acidic brew worthy of a few refills.

    California burrito

We did a quick look for sit down breakfast places we could walk to, and this one popped up as interesting. The place itself was clean and well decorated. When we arrived it was fairly empty, yet somehow we were offered the 2 worst tables - right at the door, and then in the corner where the wasn't enough room to sit. Third try and we got one against the wall. Hubby got an omelet and potatoes. Bread didn't seem buttered, but he enjoyed the egg. I got the California burrito with maduros. Not much meat in the burrito but it was ok. Maduros were awful and I was sad to have to pass on them. We laughed on our way out, noting they had specials advertised outside but not inside. The menu seems like it has an identity disorder - Peruvian? Mexican? American? My guess is that the food etc would be better if they leaned into one. Giving this a genuine "meh". I've had better, but I've had worse. And no real need to return.

Great food, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere all around. The location is convenient, and the food is absolutely delicious. A great place to enjoy a meal and spend time with family and friends.

Chile relleno, with the rice and beans

Pretty good! I ordered the chile relleno and an Arnold Palmer. The Chie was EXCEPTIONAL. The service was pretty quick too. We sat outside, so there wasn't much of a view except for the park. My one lil nitpick was that the tortillas were a bit greasy for my taste.

    Club Sandwich and criss-cut Fries
    Chipper C.

Was shopping in Paso Robles and needed lunch. Ordered a Club Sandwich, which came on a roll. It also came with some criss-cut fries. I ordered a soda. The sandwich was really dry, and the fries lacked flavor. Might come here again if I am in the area, but would order something else.

Stopped for Sunday brunch in downtown Paso Robles. We were lucky to get seated fairly quickly considering most places were packed, including this one. Pretty generous serving and the food was delish! We all liked what we got. :)

We ordered the veggie omelet, veggie scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, and the kids pancake with bacon. Each entrée came with a choice of toast or an English muffin. One thing that really stood out was that, without us even asking, the staff split the dishes onto separate plates for everyone at the table. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made sharing so much easier. The veggie scrambled eggs were loaded with fresh vegetables, and the salsa added a great burst of flavor. I personally preferred the hash browns, they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The breakfast potatoes were also good, and the rest of my family actually liked those more. The pancake was huge and fluffy, and the French toast was finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. The kids pancake came in the shape of Mickey Mouse, which absolutely made my son's day. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. Between the exceptional service and delicious food, this has become my favorite breakfast spot whenever I travel to the South. The steak was tender and well cooked, the avocado was fresh and the salsa was very flavorful with just the right amount of heat. My wife had the blackened tofu tacos and wasn't as thrilled as I was. She found them a little bit bland even with the peanut sauce and didn't understand putting cabbage on something that's already lettuce wrapped. As someone visiting from out of town, I was hoping for a warm, welcoming coffee shop experience. The café is definitely cute and has a great atmosphere, but the service felt a bit rushed. It also wasn't busy--there were only a few customers inside, and I was the only person ordering coffee at the time. Even so, I wasn't asked if my order was for here or to go, and I also wasn't asked if I'd like my coffee cake warmed. Everything was automatically served in a to-go cup with a cold slice of coffee cake. After sitting outside, I noticed other customers enjoying their drinks in ceramic mugs, which would have made the experience feel much more like the cozy coffee shop I was hoping for. It's a small detail, but those little touches can make a big difference, especially for first-time visitors. I mean... Riding a horse on the open plains.... Wearing Levi jeans, a flannel shirt, with a big cowboy hat, a pair of cowboy boots, and rocking that big belt buckle sounds pretty cool to me. But being a Cowboy or a Cowgirl for that matter is more than just the catchy attire, it's a Lifestyle! Rooted in hard physical labor, long days, loyalty, deep respect and responsibility for the land and herding cattle are just some of the core values and responsibilities of being a true Cowboy/Cowgirl. Hell, I might not be a Cowboy, Yet... But I sure do respect the Lifestyle they live and for now, you can find me on the sidelines rocking out to my favorite country and Western artists: Morgan Wallen, George Straight, Garth Brooks and of course my Girls Reba, Lainey Wilson and Carrie Underwood.
