Had a great experience at the Monstera Teahouse. Didn't try any of the food, but had a refreshing matcha drink and the service was quick and the barista was friendly. The ambiance is beautiful! Lots of pretty monsteras around (just as you would expect!) and plenty of seating available too. I was so surprised to see their extensive menu and was happy to see that it wasn't completely full with a long line, as it was the middle of the day. Will definitely be back to try new items on the menu. No problem with parking and it's a great location as there are a couple of gyms and spas nearby, so it's the perfect spot to get something refreshing after a day of sweating and working out. Will definitely be back!

Huge thanks to Joselyn. She helped us so much with choosing the right drinks. I went with the Brown Sugar Coffee with boba. It was the perfect drink. Perfect coffee drink and not too sweet and fresh boba! The kids got mango and strawberry smoothies with boba and they loved it. Also the place looks so cozy and cute! Love all the fresh indoor plants. It makes the places so lively!

Came here recently and loved the space! Great place to hangout. The staff were super friendly and patient while we were deciding (there are so many drink options it took me a minute ). Everything looked good, but I ended up trying the ube taro drink and really liked it! Also got the dream cakes and those were such a good treat to go with the drinks. Overall just a really solid spot, would definitely come back to try more off the menu.

If you're in East LA and craving boba, you have to check out Monstera. Hands down one of the best spots around--great flavors, quality tea, and their drinks are always on point. Definitely worth the stop!

This place consists of overpriced/below average boba. I asked for 2 boba based drinks, matcha and brown sugar. I told the girl to make it about 50% less sugar. She didn't listen. She put the drinks in two separate cups. When I asked why she said "because my boss wants it that way." Never going back here. La Crescenta has a good one. Go there.

After visiting a nearby spa, I was in the mood for a milk tea and came across this cozy little spot. The shop is small and charming--perfect for a casual hangout with friends or a quick grab-and-go. The staff were attentive and very welcoming, which made for a pleasant first impression. I ordered the iced jasmine oolong milk tea. While I typically enjoy sweeter drinks, this one was a bit too sweet for my taste. The oolong flavor was strong and noticeable, but I couldn't quite pick up the jasmine notes I was expecting. Still, it's a solid option for tea lovers, and I'd be interested in trying other drinks from their menu next time.

The brown sugar milk tea and house viet coffee were very good drinks. Their summer special: mint mango honey dew was just ok (couldn't really taste mint or mango) so I suggest just ordering from their main menu. I like that there are so many real plants inside the store. Nice chill vibes. Would be great if they had some boardgames to borrow. Maybe I'll bring one next time! Parking lot hard to get to if you are trying to make a left turn into oncoming traffic. There's a parking structure right around the corner though and you can take an elevator up to the main floor. Structure is also accessible through the parking lot.

Inside was jazz music but it wasn't as air conditioned as I would have wanted. - Strawberry Matcha Soy 4.7/5 Could have more of a strawberry essence. When mixed it just tastes like matcha.

It was okay, I got the Thai tea and it was generally bland. I think they use powdered mixes which are generally bland anyway and it's about $8 per drink, I'm going to pass on this place. read more

The boba here is amazing!! I'm so glad they opened up at this location. The staff is incredibly sweet & talks you through what the drinks are made of. I had the Sunrise Tea with aloe Vera jellies and the spring rolls. Both were delicious and it's a great atmosphere. The spring rolls were handmade, fresh and filling, I could only eat two of the four! Very happy with my experience. They also have stamp cards. read more

The service was incredible. I ordered a the sunset tea and spring rolls, however the spring rolls were out of stock and they immediately called me to let me know. The lady was so friendly and asked if the Vietnamese baguettes were on instead. I said yes and they even gave me a free cookie and a hand written thank you note! Talk about great service! Love this place which is filled up with house plants. They have unique flavors and toppings. I ordered their strawberry matcha. My brother got their house milk tea with honey boba. I got the regular sweetness level. For someone with a big sweet tooth, this one was actually a little bit too sweet so I'd recommend lowering it to half sweetness. The house milk tea however was not very sweet. Will come back again read more

Came in on opening day to support and they happily and patiently took orders from my very confused family members haha everything was delicious! My dad doesn't even like boba but he was very sad when he ran out of his creme brûlée boba drink (sorry I forgot the full name of it). We all ordered different drinks and everyone loved theirs. I've had Matcha drinks all over, from Montrose to la canada, I also know the taste of ceremonial and regular matcha tea, so I've decided to try one from Monatera Tea house Tujunga, and tried their Matcha soy. I was disappointed. Matcha tasted like regular Green tea. Nothing like the drink with real Korean or Japanese Matcha powder. Also soy milk instead of regular milk made the drink even worst. Not worth the $7. If you never had a matcha drink before, this will probably be ok for you, but if you love matcha, and don't want to be disappointed avoid their matcha drinks. read more

Wow! I was in the neighborhood and needed a refreshing drink and I didn't want a cofee or anything sugary. I was so happy to find Monstera and try their "Sunrise fruit tea." I found this cute boba shop by accident, and I have to leave a review for their amazing drinks and service even though I am not live in the area. I had the brown sugar boba milk tea, it is so different from other places that I have been. Their milk tea tastes so different, I think because they used all organic sources for their ingredients. The staffs are super helpful and friendly, I hope they will open one near my house in the future. 100% recommend for their tea and coffee. read more

First time customer yesterday. It was a rainy cold day and I was craving something hot. I called and the young woman very patiently recited all of the hot tea selections. I went with the Rose Honey rooibos. It was very flavorful, with the the right touch and taste of rose, and it was covered with edible roses. It was gorgeous. I also ordered the "snack" of Spring rolls. The reason for the air quotes was the rolls were generously filled with veggies, lettuce , mint, pork and an item that could not identify, it was crunchy and very tasty. The rolls were packed tightly and came with a wonderful sause to dip to in. My husband and I happily ate them for dinner. The service was excellent, professional and friendly. Lots of healthy plants, cute plant t-shirts and other merchandise. There was a bit of a small crowd consistently coming in, so next time I will order ahead, but if you have to wait,, it is a very pleasant atmosphere to wait for your drinks and delish snacks. My husband and I plan to return tomorrow! read more

Next came their bacon burritos, which were delicious and popular. Then of course the store told me last week that they won't carry them anymore. A good way to lose a loyal custome, but here the preferences of the loyal customers apparently don't warrant that much consideration. As for the coffee, it is served in paper cups that quickly dissipate the heat so that by the time you finish a cup, it is ice cold. And they refuse to reheat it. No longer recommend.

The staff is so helpful and lovely. My son had a freshly baked cinnamon roll and orange juice. We both loved this place and I can't wait to come back for lunch! Everything is clean and organized and truly unique. Thank you for an awesome independently owned coffee shop that's local to us. We will definitely be stopping by again. There was nothing creative, refined, or memorable about it. For what they charge, I expected something far more thoughtful and well-executed. Instead, it felt basic, boring, and significantly overpriced. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't justify the cost, and I left wondering where the value was supposed to be.

There is not a lot of sitting, more of a grab and go type place. We tried their hojicha, matcha and iced coffee. They were all okay-ish. I got the matcha, I can't speak in details about the other two. But I was told they were all more milk than anything. The matcha was okay. I can't say it was a high quality matcha, I felt like I was drinking oat milk and ice. The service was good, they looked a bit under staffed or maybe too many people walked in. Initially they had one person making the drinks and simultaneously on the cashiers. Then a second staff joined in to help. But overall pretty friendly despite the circumstances.

I stopped for a cup of coffee and pancakes, while waiting on my car, after receiving somewhat cool cup of coffee from the leftovers of the pot. I politely went up to the counter asking for hot cup of coffee, in response, I received a displeased expression from a girl in a glasseses over-the-counter saying that it's gonna take five minutes which I gladly agreed to wait for. So in five minutes with the same displeased look she left a cup of coffee on my table, turned around and left, after which a tall slender, somewhat pale young gentleman came out with something that can only be described as a clinically depressed look, leaving pancakes with absolutely no eye contact or a single word out of his mouth, even after I said thank you. I was not expecting a parade, balloons and confetti, but this is just so depressing to look at and not the kind of experience, you wanna have at a place in your neighborhood where you come to eat.

I recently discovered this little charming spot in my neighborhood and couldn't resist trying it out. While the place had a lot of positives, the only downside was the smell inside. It was a bit strange and somewhat unpleasant - like the lingering odor of old cabbage from the kitchen. It was definitely one of the up and coming boba shops worth driving for from OC. Will definitely come back for their strawberry yogurt drink. The shop has a relaxing and chill ambience that you can hang out with, especially with the board games available for public. Staff and service have been great. I had a great time yesterday at Monstera, it was my first time and the spring rolls were on point. Yum whoever is back there knows what they're doing. They were made fresh on demand and delicious. Terrible rude service. The girl at the checkout is just rude and indecent with customers! The picture is completely different from the one they gave us. Still half empty.
