The portions were filling but also since this is an AYOC, of course you can order as much as you want. The banchan were sufficient enough. Saturday evening, winter. Nothing like a Korean BBQ to quench your hunger. Visiting SoCal and just concluding our visit to Universal Studios, we head out to Korea Town to satisfy our craving. We head out to Moon BBQ2. It's a little fuzzy, but I recollect we have been here before. Super tight parking on a corner street a valet will help you navigate parking for a nominal fee. The weekend is packed with patrons, we opted to eat in their outside tent area. The cooking burners blazing away ward off the chill from outside. We ordered the usual meat selection. As always, it is hard not to fault anything in a Koran BBQ. However, I do liked a cut of meat that they offered. It is unfortunate I didn't catch the name of that meat, but it's best described as a thin rib-eye like cut of beef. It was tender with the right amount of marbling. There is a visceral feel eating Koran BBQ outside in the parking lot in Korea Town nonetheless. Mood BBQ2 sure did did hit the spot. My go to KBBQ! Love coming here to get my fix, and putting people on if they've never had it. The meats are always fresh and have great taste. I love the fact that the banchan is self serve, so you don't have to wait on a server to come around so you can ask for more. I was craving KBBQ and wanted to try some place new. I visited Moon BBQ #2 today with my partner and I thought it was weird that they asked us to pay BEFORE we dined in. Whatever I did it anyways and did menu C. I tried to overlook the dingy decor, really strange remixed music and very run down environment. I was really hoping the meat would blow me away. When they brought out the meats the color looked off. I could tell the meat had been sitting out for a while because it looked almost grey and murky colored. I HOPED cooking it might improve the taste. The meat was tough, chewy, and didn't taste fresh at all. The salad bar was kind of disappointing as well. Everything looked like it had been sitting out all day and hadn't been replenished or cleaned up. Honestly I didn't know you could mess up KBBQ, but they managed to do that. The good news is there's a 7-Eleven across the street where I had to pull over and buy Pepto since I know I'm going to have some food poisoning on my way home. I can tell I'm going to vomit. This really sucks and for almost $80 you would think the food would at least be half decent. 1/5 stars honestly I would not recommend. Please look elsewhere. Do better. read more

I mean KBBQ is just pork, beef, and chicken, as long as you get that and it's not chitterlings or tongue your good! Most expensive beer is 8.99 and highest soju is 14.99. There's an "open salad bar" here which looks rinky dink but it's not. The bar is small, quaint, intimate like the restaurant. I enjoy this spot because although it's AYCE; you don't get too many options in order to reduce confusion and indecisiveness. Music is typically pretty upbeat, staffs friendly, food is tasteful. At here on a Sunday after around 4pm.. it seems a little odd, but you do need to pay before you ear. The quality of meat is pretty good for the price! I LOVE the little salad bar they have. When you arrive at this restaurant you are expected to pay for your meal. before you are sat down. The bill has gratuity included so you don't have to worry about the tip unless you would like to give your server something extra. My sister and I ordered the cheapest option (Option A). This was priced at $23.50 and includes beef, chicken, and pork. All the meat is good quality. Waiters are attentive and replace your grill as needed. There are other items you can order at an additional cost like steamed egg, corn cheese and more expensive meat cuts.) I like this restaurant because they have a "salad bar" with all the banchan. My friends and I did a small 6-person farewell get together and the staff was very accommodating-- they even allowed us to seat while still waiting for half of the party. We were seated upstairs. The Korean BBQ itself was amazing. It took us a while to figure out which meats to get! The only bummer was they stopped serving at something like 10pm (10:30?), and this was on a Friday night. What stood out to me was the self serve station they had for all the KBBQ sides. I loved it because I could just go and get more at any time. On the inside, seating is pretty spacious and there's tables that could hold large parties. Service is also speedy as they have enough workers checking up on tables. Cheap all-you-can-eat kbbq. The funny thing is that my friends and I were originally going to eat at Castle BBQ, but it somehow got moved to this place during COVID. The price has gone up a bit apparently. The meat was decent for the price, but not as tasty as other places I've been to. I liked their bulgogi the best. They could expand their menu a bit (we picked menu B). Perhaps add beef tongue, beef belly, kimchi fried rice, idk. Just seemed lacking a little. The service here was better than other kbbq places. Maybe because it wasn't too crowded. (This was a Saturday afternoon.) We got our meat pretty quickly, and the waiters refilled our banchan several times. Maybe just more grill changes would be nice. One thing I really appreciated about this place is the bathroom. It's harder to find places with public bathrooms these days, so that was definitely a plus. A few years ago, I would have agreed with lost of these by giving this place 2 to 3 stars. However, my most recent trips here in the past two months have changed my mind. There are two menu items that are, at least in my opinion, really good and warrant 4 stars: the short rib cube and the herb pork belly. These were not on the menu when I ate here two or three years ago, but they make the place worth it now. If you eat these two proteins and only these two proteins along with the rice, the corn cheese, the potato salad and the other banchan you like, you will be satisfied. Don't get the bulgogi or the LA galbi or the chicken or anything else. If you want to get your money's worth, get those two meat dishes only. What then brings this place to 5 stars is the price. It is a solid deal compared to the other Kbbq places in the Hollywood/K-town area. Unfortunately, if you come at the wrong times, you will face a long wait, sometimes more than an hour. I waited about as much one time I was here, the first time I tried the new menu items, and the food was good enough that I didn't mind the long wait. read more
