So delicious! Odd little walkway to get inside the restaurant, unmarked door and front patio that looks like a derelict house. As soon as you enter the door, you'll be in a hallway but to the right is a set of stairs, an employee will seat you. The menu is full of standard Thai food. The waitress was working the whole dining room (about 16 people including us) but was really efficient and our food came fast! A house salad is included so be sure to get the awesome house dressing on it, I would order a bottle to go home if it were available. My Garlic Chicken was perfect and my bf had Panang Curry which was not spicy so we both enjoyed it.

What the pho?!! Everything that our lunch party of twelve tried at this little family-run Thai joint was PHOnominal! Half of our group ordered their savory pho (pronounced phuh). Both chicken and beef versions were downright delicious. I went with my favorite Thai rice noodle dish, Pad See Ew, which was perfectly prepared and presented. The piping hot spring rolls were low on grease and high in flavor. Our delightful server, Tri, was friendly, patient and attentive. Sanitation score was an A and everything was clean. Decor is sparce but atmosphere is pleasant. Overall, I'd say this place is definitely a Gotta Try. We hope to return on our next trip from Charlotte to our hometown of Danville.

Some of my husband's coworkers had been here many times and loved the food. We decided to give it a try. It's a small place, so there might be a little wait. It looks like a family run business. I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken and my husband had the Thai fried rice with steak (not pictured). The waitress got his order wrong (misunderstanding) and gave him steak pho. but she replaced it with the fried rice. I highly recommend this place. Everything was delicious.

Looks can be deceiving; we almost didn't go inside due to the outside appearance. Once we got inside it was cute with nice table settings that were worthy of a date night. The waitress was super nice and attentive. We got Chicken Satay; Tom Kha with tofu for the protein (not pictured but also beautiful); Panang Curry with chicken for the protein; "Crispy" Garlic Duck (to be fair, it was not even close to crispy when it arrived at the table due to the sauce it was in but it had great flavor) My husband and I are daydreaming about going back and trying everything on the menu. We will be back.

Don't let the exterior fool you! This place had some of the best Thai food I've had in a while. The drinks were excellent!! The dining area is small & cozy. The service was phenomenal-very attentive & friendly! Will definitely be back!

Even though the waiter got our order wrong and we never received our Thai tea, this is the best option for Thai food in the Danville area. Our bill was adjusted, the food was good, and we enjoyed both of our dishes.

We have been to Moon River many times during the 5 years we've lived in Danville. They have the absolute BEST Thai food we have ever tried. Tonight we went to celebrate our anniversary, and everything was excellent. Dinner starts with a salad served with the world's BEST peanut dressing - it is to die for. We ordered the vegetable crispy roll appetizer (always delicious!). I had the special which was a whole fried fish with chili sauce and vegetables. My husband had crispy stir fried pork (listed as fried chicken, duck, or pork). The entrees come with a generous portion of jasmine rice (great to help cool down the spice if you order a spicy dish). Previously we have had the Thai iced tea, which is ultra refreshing and sweet, Thai fried rice with shrimp, pineapple fried rice with shrimp or tofu, cashew stir fry, basil stir fry, and pad see-ew with tofu and vegetables. Every meal we have tried has been delicious. If you don't like spicy food, don't worry. There are plenty of mild options on the menu. They have a spice level listed on the menu at the bottom right hand corner. I am so happy to live just a couple minutes away. We will definitely keep returning!!

Housed at the end of a highway strip mall outside of Danville, Rustic Barn is neither rustic nor a…read morebarn. It is, improbably, a fantastic Asian fusion restaurant. Yes, you read that right. The idiosyncrasies do not stop with the name. Inside, The Rustic Barn offers an intimate space with low lighting and some interesting décor: random photos of locomotives adorn the wall. The menu skews Thai albeit with some Japanese dishes (gyoza, teriyaki, yaki udon) and a few (a burger, a steak and potatoes) that fit the establishment's rurally suggestive name. The proprietor, Jeb, is gracious and accommodating as well as a showman who likes to joke with his guests. His promise of "everything fresh, everything homemade" is a lot to live up to, but the kitchen here has the chops to deliver on that promise. Our group went with a pair of starters (crab rangoons and gyoza), a pair of curries (roadhouse and green), and a pair of noodle dishes (yaki udon and pad Thai). Everything was attractively plated and delicious. The rangoons were hand-formed into delicate shapes and contained plenty of filling while the gyoza were nice and crisp. My entrée was the roadhouse curry: the house version of Massaman. A hearty dish, it boasted thick-cut vegetables and a rich sauce done to the desired (a little bit spicy) level of heat. Prices are moderate (entrees start in the upper teens), but portions are plenty filling. Given how many Danville restaurants were closed on a Sunday evening, I count myself lucky that The Rustic Barn was not among them. If you come here seeking country cooking, you'll be confused and perhaps disappointed. But if you know what you're getting yourself into, the combination of personable service and tasty food in an offbeat location makes this the epitome of a hidden gem.

I did go with a friend and we were very impressed. So much so that I gave it a 5 Star review. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review. So today, I invited my friend who had invited me last year to go with me to give this restaurant another try, because consistency is what gives a restaurant its success, and helps develop its good reputation. We arrived and the small, clean, and cozy restaurant was still there, under a beautiful blue sky with white clouds. Outside in the small porch it had two tables with chairs for people who preferred eating outdoors on a nice Summer day. It was a hot day so we decided to eat indoors under the comfort of the air-condition. As soon as we walked inside a young lady warmly greeted and welcomed us and took us to our table. Soon after we reviewed the already familiar menu we both ordered a glass of iced water to drink. On a hot day there is nothing like a glass of nice cold water to quench the thirst. To eat we both also ordered the Pork Pad Thai. This traditional Thai dish had rice noodles, eggs, bean sprouts, green onions, and pork, with peanut and lime on the side.we both didn't want it too spicy hot so we asked for a #2 spicyness. Not long afterwards our dishes arrived. The presentation was simple, yet clean and appetizing. Everything looked so fresh and appetizing. And tasted amazing. Our server came by to check on us with a smile to see if everything was to our satisfaction and we told her it was. Everything so far was far exceeding our highest expectation. The food was so savory and the pieces of pork were so lean and fresh. I also loved the feel of the rice noodles and the taste of the grind peanuts. Even though the dining room was small, it didn't take long for itn to get full while we were eating, and we saw other customers come in to pick up Takeout orders. A lot of the seemed like repeat customers. It seemed like this small family-owned and run restaurant was getting the right attention and had become successful mostly through word of mouth, ju DrWe were very happy to see this. For dessert we both ordered the Coconut Ice-cream with Fried Bananas. It was wonderful. In conclusion I gave another 5 Stars to this restaurant and I highly recommend it to all those who enjoy Thai food or would like to try it. You'll be glad you did.

Most places put a pepper symbol and it's not spicy at all, but this single red pepper symbol means business!!!!!! I'm sensitive to spice at the moment so eating my food was a bit of a marathon....but in a good way! Think runny nose & sweating hot with tons of delicious flavor. To start, we served wonton strips with a white yum yum type sauce which was a nice surprise. For our app we had the crab puffs (crab ragoons) which of course were not spicy, perfectly crispy and had the right amount of filling. I also ordered a dragon roll which came out after my main entree since the sushi bar was backed up. This actually worked out perfect because the cream cheese in the roll was a great way to calm the spice in my main entree. The mango and crab on the roll were very fresh, and the size was also pretty hefty for being an 8 piece roll. I could have easily made this into a lighter full meal. For my main entree I got the spicy basil with chicken (red pepper sign alert!!!), brown rice and miso soup. The miso soup was good as expected, the brown rice was cooked to perfection and served in a side bowl, and the main entree was plentiful with perfectly cooked veggies & chicken! This dish brought the heat but in a very good way!!! I couldn't get enough of that spicy basil flavor!!!! I only ate half the dish so looking forward to a delicious lunch today! We live in Knightdale so this was a trek for the dinner hour but I stand by my decision. This place is right downtown off of Magnum so there's parking garages nearby. Don't be fooled by the facade. Apparently this place used to be Dos Perros, and the logo is still in the glass Inside you immediately walk into the front bar area and hostess stand. They were busy so it took a while for someone to address us. We grabbed a high top in the bar area. They have like a dozen AC units throughout the dining space, so temperature control was a priority. (Appreciated). Food wise we grabbed the calamari, some spicy wings and some steamed dumplings to start. Dumplings were decent. Calamari was pale and could have been fried harder. Also, it was a weird cut....long flat pieces instead of the circular cuts I'm used to. My kids loved it, but def not the best I've had. The wing sauce was a highlight. We asked for hot, but as a table if west Indian people, the heat level was mild. The wings were also slightly less done than I like. They were drowning in a plate of sauce though. I'm wishing i would have taken the sauce to go and refired some wings at home and put em under the broiler so the sauce would have caramelized on the meat. They had all the elements, but that would have def improved the flavor and texture there. For entrees, we got a Chicken Pad Thai (my son called it a spiritual experience) , two orders of pad see ew with crispy tofu and one Drunken Noodle with Pork. I didn't taste the pad Thai so can't cosign my son's review. The sauce on the pad see ew was the highlight. The tofu was under done (not crispy), and the Drunken noodles were decent. For the Triangle, this was great Thai. Comparing to all the other Thai I've had in life, this was ok. But if they want to seel their sauces on the side, I would def grab some of those and chef it up at home. Staff was friendly and attentive. Felt like family owned - no pretense, just helpful people.

On my most recent visit, my partner and I stopped by for a daytime date and started by splitting the fresh shrimp rolls. They were light, fresh, and tasty, a perfect appetizer on a hot summer day.  I ordered the papaya salad, which was refreshing with a nice kick. It was loaded with shrimp, tomatoes, and plenty of peanuts, which added the perfect crunch. I appreciate that they don't shy away from using peanuts in their dishes where they belong, it really enhances the flavor.
