My family found it better than Chicken Inn or even Colletti's's or KFC or other chicken places we've tried. big, meaty pieces, and they were crispy, not oily at all. You can get chicken only or can get them is a family meal where they come along with either fries or mosquito some gravy plus call far as your choices of two sides are up to you. It was ready within about 30 minutes and very well packaged. Ordering was easy. The staff couldn't have been nicer during pick up. It is easy to park there and run in to pick up your order. I am. We had two large events here recently and were unhappy with the service of the second. Despite paying for a drink package no drinks were offered for the first half of the event. When I asked about it I was told guests could go to the bar if they wanted a drink, which was unattended at least 70% of the event. We paid a couple hundred dollars for maybe 10 softdrinks. Food was cold and the waitress spent much time complaining about her personal finances and family to my guests. Won't book here again. read more

I would not recommend this location for any type of event or reunion! I strongly communicated to the manager that they're terrible service would be noted on several review sites by many of the attendees of our reunion. We decided to have a grade school reunion at this location, they stated they would put aside a nice area for us and we got over 35 people to attend the event, 90 minutes into the event the manager turned up the music so loud we could not have a conversation, we asked them to turn it down for us he said he would not do it then finally he said he would turn it down for 1 minute so we can make an announcement which was to get pizzas and food from them. Another 30 minutes past and he then told us we can no longer stay in the space we were at because they were having Disco Night! We looked for another location around the block but nobody could accommodate us then we went out to their patio and they told us they were going to shut that down on us in 1 hour! After 90 minutes outside and adding to their revenue for the evening they kicked us out of the patio! There is no way that we will ever go back to this location and there should be no way that anybody considers this place with their terrible management and absolutely ridiculous, and terrible communication anyone else should consider this place! read more

Moretti's has a few locations around the city but I stopped by their Chicago location in Edison Park. I have never been to Edison Park before but it was surprisingly buzzing with people and there are so many little bars and restaurants to visit. Moretti's caught my eye because of their huge patio outdoor seating area. Moretti's has about 3 bars inside and in the back they have a dance floor with a DJ and disco ball. Definitely check this place out during the weekend for a good time. While at Moretti's we ordered a couple of drinks, I had the martini which was good and strong which is how I like it. We also tried their pizza which is half-off on Tuesdays. The pizza was really good. I highly suggest getting the pizza. We also ordered their short rib ravioli, chicken Parmesan, and short rib risotto. The dishes were cool. I suggest coming to Moretti's for drinks, pizza and good vibes. We had a hard time deciding what to get because everything sounded so good, but this is what we ultimately ordered: - Cheesy Pull Apart Bread: sourdough loaf brushed w garlic butter, stuffed w Italian cheeses, served w marinara - Burrata Heirloom Tomato Salad: heirloom cherry tomatoes, Italian olives, pesto, evoo, burrata cheese, red onion, avocado, arugula tossed in evoo & lemon, fresh basil w balsamic glaze, served w toasted crostini's, we also added blackened chicken - Chicken Parmesan Sandwich: herb-crusted chicken breast baked w marinara & a blend of Italian cheeses on a toasted tomato focaccia bun - 18 inch Thin Crust: 1/2 Pepperoni, Ricotta, & Spinach, 1/2 Maxed Out Mac & Cheese: creamy mac & cheese topped w jalapeños, bacon & a drizzle of bbq sauce We really enjoyed their thin crust pizza! My family has been in Edison Park for 4 generations. Morettis EP used to be a place to get great food at good price. That's not the case anymore. My family celebrated Mother's day there today and will never return after having our order screwed up for the 3rd time in a row. These were some of the things we encountered on our in house visit today. -No silverware -Sticky table -No kids menu or plain paper to keep a toddler entertained on Moms day. -Toddlers meal, which was ordered upon seating, still was not ready when the rest of the meal was ready. -No steak knife for steak, 2 missing items from steak dinner. -Misc. Fee added to every check. -No dressing on the main dish salad. Served with partial old soggy, gooey lettuce (not even edible). After sending back a meal and complaining about a another, there's only so much one can do. The restaurant was only 1/2 full at the time we were there. So unfortunate. Last night at Moretti's I had a small sausage, mushroom, green pepper, onion, and black olive thin crust pizza and it was delicious. My aunt had the Chicken Parmesan. There was enough food there for her to bring home for a few days. As always, the staff was nice. Our server was Patricia. She was a lot of fun to chat with. Before the main dishes, we had soup and salad. Afterwards the dessert was vanilla ice cream with chocolate on top. All of the above was good. My soup was the minestrone and my Aunt had the French onion. Moretti's is situated in Edison Park, one of the nicest parts of Chicago on the northwest side next to Park Ridge. Simple idea...sides of meatball challenge all over the Chicagoland area brought be to stop in here to get a side of meatballs. Oddly enough i never know if a side is going to be 1 or 2 meatballs, but I was soo happy to pay $6 for 2 sides, which is a total of 4 meatballs! I make angel hair pasta and call it dinner with these meatballs. 1 leftover meatball became a meatball sub. So far Moretti's is the right up there with Italian village, but they give sides of bread with their giant meatball, so a sub is inevitable when I get 2 sides. Frankly, a homemade meatball is something I can make at home, but Chicago has so many places that can make them for me for way less than me making them myself. read more

This place is three stars at best because the front staff are two young girls who obviously are not very experienced. We spent 10 minutes debating on a need for reservations and wait list. Do they have one, do I need one, and did I place one? Really...its a table for two and you're not swamped. But that aside...the food was decent and large but lacking flavor. I've been to a fair number of Moretti's in Chicago and the suburbs and have found them to overall be spacious, reasonably priced, and have a good selection of different dishes. But I've also noticed that the cooking can vary considerably between different locations as some can produce exceptionally delicious gourmet meals whereas some cook food similar to what you'd find in buffet style dining. On my visit here for an event, I got to sample a wide variety of dishes presented in large trays. I typically expect the food temperature for this to be a bit cooler and there to be a little less texture contrast when presented in this style. The food at this visit reinforced this belief -- being alright for a party but not anything special. The food used simple recipes so there was nothing particularly memorable or unique about it -- but it was good food to eat while watching a football game. Ingredients were fairly fresh but I wasn't able to judge this too much as what I ate was mostly appetizer style food. One item I wasn't very impressed with though was the thin crust pizza. The dough was bland, the sauce was scarce, and it was overall a little over-done. Pizza is one of the top reasons I go to Moretti's (especially on half-price Tuesdays) and this wasn't as good as the other locations. I have always loved Morrettis but it has been going down over the last few years. Had a gathering for a 40th birthday on Saturday night 5/20 under the name Neroda. Our waitress was not friendly at all, so many things screwed up with the order to even mention. We ordered a couple cosmos They were not good, I don't think there was much vodka in there and it definitely was not grey goose as we requested. I know help is hard to find, but Morrettis is going to have to figure something out, because the way it is now, does not work. Get back to the way you were. We want our old Morrettis back. Very sad. Just ended a conversation with a lovely young lady ordering over the phone, and it left such an indelible mark on me that I felt compelled to write this. My typical interactions with restaurants over the phone feel tinged with a miasmatic aura of disdain or apathy. This was certainly not the case this go around... From the moment Brooke introduced herself, I could sense a genuine earnesty and joy to be interacting with the customers. She had an excellent sense of the menu and was able to give recommendations despite some dietary restrictions in my family. The online interface of a company often has its importance marginalized, but I think that my interaction today proves how integral of a role it plays in customer satisfaction. I can only hope that Brooke is an accurate representation of all the workers at Moretti's and a management staff that has an excellent eye for identifying talent. We haven't even received our food yet, but I feel so refreshed in humanity after this call I just couldn't help but start typing. I hope the taste lives up to the wonderful image they present. Speaking of identifying talent, I have a family member that heads a talent agency specialized in voice actors. From solely our interaction over the phone I can tell that she has the raw talent for such a job; the intonation and tone was flawless. It's okay it's pretty much a bar food menu but they do have a lot of entrees they have a pretty extensive menu actually. But it's always crawling with kids and I don't like that. They have a nice outdoor area that I enjoyed during the summer time and I do order their pizza from home a lot too. read more

I have written a review before, commenting on the absolutely abominable service at the bar. I returned last Friday to see if they had progressed. I sat at the bar for ten minutes while the shabbily dressed barman chatted with four people near the service bar. He never turned to greet me or wait on me. He looked right at me when he used the register right in front of me so was aware I was present. The people he was talking to saw me sitting there but none of them reminded him that he was at work. I was meeting two other people there for food and drinks so I called them and told them to meet me in a restaurant around the corner, instead. The worst bar staff in all creation. So, how many times a week does the pathetic staff allow at least 200 dollars to walk out the door? If it's only once a week, that could be around 1,000 dollars a month and 12,000 dollars a year. I recently had my Son's College Graduation at the Moretti's Unique Events on Sunday, June 4,2023. I dealt with Kelly while setting up my event and my servers, Susan, Amanda and Kim were exceptional!!! My guests and I were well taken care of by the staff. The food was delicious and abundant. 99% of my guests were just thrilled of the location, food and atmosphere, it was a huge success!! The next private event I have will be here again!!! We came here with a large group (9 people, three checks) on Father's Day and overall had an excellent experience. I was able to move our reservation forward an hour, which was very appreciated. The food was excellent and even my dad enjoyed his steak (he's very hard to please when it comes to food!) My husband and I both had the short rib ravioli and it was amazing in both the vodka sauce and the marinara. The only thing I dropped the star for is how slow the service was. Our server was very nice and friendly, but we put our dinner order in shortly after our appetizer order, and it was almost 30 minutes after we were done with the appetizers that the food came out. Also, one person in our party ordered a deep dish pizza. When they brought out the food they said it would be another 5 min for the pizza, but we were all almost done with our food before it came out. Waited just shy of 2 hours for a large sausage pizza deal and an order of these amazing soggy, undercooked, stale yet burnt mozzarella sticks...the sauce lid was cooked better than the actual mozzarella sticks lol. What can I say about Moretti's in EP? Well, I grew up in Edison Park and have been coming to this Moretti's location since I was in junior high. It has always been a staple for FUN, friend and family gatherings, and a joyful atmosphere, and I was so happy to return recently and see that had not changed. :) I brought my parents to dinner at Moretti's and we had an incredible experience. The patio was lovely, the food was phenomenal (even for a picky vegan like me!), drinks were tasty, and they even had live music playing. It made for a perfect summer evening! I ordered a salad, the vegan pizza, and my mom got calamari and pasta. Everything tasted fresh, and I was honestly so happy to see how they had adapted to have lots of great veggie options. Horrible experience. Sat down at a table near the bar and went up to the bar to ask if I could have a menu and a beer. I got a rude, "No, you can't" by a male bartender and was told I had to go to the front desk to check in. There were nicer ways to phrase that, and he added a, "You can't just walk in here and sit down" and walked away. Nice! I walked up to the front desk and the girl said that I indeed did not have to check in and could go right to the table. Obviously they aren't communicating well inside Moretti's. A waitress finally comes to my table and asked if I wanted a beer. I gave her my selection and she walked away. I had to flag her down to tell her that I also wanted a pizza. Unbelievable. Finally my pizza comes and the server walks away without giving me any plates. I had to walk around the restaurant to track him down and finally get plates. Mind you, the bar area was not full (see picture). The waitress only came around once, just after I got my food, so I never got a 2nd beer. Forgot to check in (on yelp) but went last night - SAME hostess as last time (!!!) who not only didn't acknowledge us - but walked away! They were not busy at all and we stood there for a long time and decided to seat ourselves - never even saw the hostess again (and the sign did say Please Wait to Be Seated). Went last night to grab a pizza and some pasta for dinner. Place was empty both inside and outside. Was seated right away. Waited about 15 min before we had to ask for a waiter. Service was poor as a whole. We order our drinks and food and don't see our waiter again until the food comes out 40 minutes later (time was not an issue as we ordered a deep dish). Food was ok, very salty but overall wasn't bad. There were plenty of waiters available but they were either by the bar chatting with each other or in the corner by the outdoor patio chatting. What I would assume would be the manager was also with them. Bathrooms in the basement (which has mats coming up off the floor on the stairs, which someone could trip) smelled like urine and were not kept up at all. When I have it delivered the food is perfect and the order is correct. It also tastes the same each time I order it which nowadays is a rarity since I find restaurants aren't quite the same since the pandemic. But I will continue to order from Moretti's. We have been going to the Fox Lake Moretti's for years. We have had countless impromptu birthday dinners with anywhere from 5 to 15 friends and many times were were accommodated the same day. They have a large dinning areas and they will pull multiple tables together and seat us in an area that feels comfortable for our guests to chat and not feel cramped or rushed. They have a regular bar and feature yummy cocktails that change from time to time. I also like that they have an extensive menu and everyone has whatever they want. I am interested in booking a private event (30+ people), so I ate at the restaurant to sample the food and tour the party rooms. Matthew (manager) was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating; he is an asset to Moretti's! Minestrone soup, grilled calamari, grilled swordfish, and Chicken Limone were delicious with beautiful presentation. There was no bread which is unusual for an Italian restaurant; it should really be included in the meal. Outside patio is very inviting with string lights, trees, and newer big clean tables and comfortable chairs. I really enjoyed the spacious seating at the table! Adding some fresh flowers will definitely make the outdoor dining area even more beautiful! There is a surcharge on the bill which manager removed upon request. The surcharge also applies to private events. Pandemic is over, so restaurant should remove all surcharge. I am still exploring other restaurants for my special event because the banquet rooms really need to be updated with new flooring. Currently the rooms looked very outdated! Even the upstairs bathroom look more modern and nice. Carpet on the stairs looks quite old and dirty. It should be replaced with new carpet or simply leave as wooden steps because I am not sure deep cleaning will make the carpet look any better. If owner/GM can make these improvements, I am certain that Moretti's in Edison Park will have more private party bookings.
