My boyfriend and I went to Morton's for our anniversary! It was my first time to a steakhouse and I loved it! Tim was our server and was super welcoming and informative. He gave us great recommendations and was able to explain highlighted dishes to us. I got my filet mignon (12oz) as medium rare, my boyfriend got their Cajun ribeye as medium rare as well. Both were cooked to perfection! We wanted to try some of their sides as it was our first time dining at Morton's. Loved them all, but we'd probably just order the truffle fries and maybe try their mashed potato dish (which we didn't get this time). My boyfriend enjoyed their tossed salad- I did as well! We let them know in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, so they decorated the table in celebration! Including a lava cake w/ vanilla ice cream on the house! The best lava cake we've ever had! We both agreed we'd go back just for that lava cake!!! The restaurant itself looked so nice, we were glad to have gotten a booth seat- our reservation was at 4:30pm, as we had a night show to attend to later. By 5:30 I'd say it was getting more packed. Idk if we'd have gotten a booth seat if we had reservations at a later time.
Morton's is my go-to for any occasion. Date night? Morton's. Birthday? Morton's. Anniversary? Morton's. Just because? Morton's. The Ala Moana location also has convenient parking, which is always a plus. My family from the East Coast was visiting and wanted their last dinner on the island to be at a steakhouse, so Morton's was an easy choice. They're pretty picky eaters who usually stick to steak, burgers, and chicken and aren't into local food, but everyone found something they liked. Even my grandpa, who is an EXTRA picky eater and barely eats much, finished his entire sea bass and potatoes au gratin. We went during Memorial Day weekend, so they had a $79 per person special that included a starter, entree, enhancement, side, and dessert. It was a really good deal for the amount of food you get. I usually order the ribeye, but the special convinced me to try the filet mignon instead, and it did not disappoint. I also tried the truffle butter enhancement for the first time and it was SO good. If you like your steak medium rare, order it medium rare plus** (if you know, you know.) It comes out perfect every time. I also love their mashed potatoes and mushroom/spinach side. The sides are huge and can easily feed 2/maybe 3 people, so we even had leftovers for the next day. I would say if there's no holiday special or celebratory special, it comes out to about $100/person that's worth every penny. The lighting is dim but sets a nice vibe, the servers are always professional, and they have private rooms for events. We've had Ed as our server a couple of times now and he's always really good to us. Morton's really has something for everyone, which is why I keep coming back.
OOofff this place was hard to locate. The location is easily missed unless you know exactly what to look for. In Ala Moana, on the Bloomingdale's parking lot level, you'll be looking for an elevator to take you up to the restaurant level. The food here is so so good! It's fresh, service is fast, and everything has amazing flavor! All of the sides are large enough to share and I do recommend sharing. The service is very kind and accommodating to your request. The food comes out very quickly and it's still sizzling when served. The environment is very quiet and almost somber. The lighting is low and there is calming music. There are multiple dining areas which allows everyone feel as if they are not over crowded. My only downside is the price. It is very expensive. A single 4oz was $76. The food is worth it, but for very very special occasions
Love this place. Can't get enough. Staff treats you well, if there is an issue with a steak, it's fixed immediately. Place is high end. Low lit atmosphere although it can get noisy. Prices are typical for a place like this. If you have a steak craving, they offer many different cuts and styles. They are slightly different from Ruth's Chris as their steaks don't come out sizzling hot with butter on top. Parking is easy. This restaurant is located at the Ala Moana Shopping Center. Overall, this is one of my favorite steak places to go.
Decided to go to Morton's to celebrate my mother and brother's birthdays. Was a bit hesitant because other Yelp reviews were underwhelmed with the service but you know what? The service provided to us was EXCELLENT. Our server Shaun (or Sean or Shawn, didn't get spelling) made the dinner really special with his attention to detail, patience, and overall happy vibe. He took the time to answer all of our questions, made suggestions, and improved our dining experience by plating the salad on smaller plates because we were sharing and letting us add another oyster so everyone would get one. For birthdays, they write a card and scatter cute confetti on table. They also comp a dessert for each birthday celebrant and provide a candle. Appreciate that. Everything we ordered was delicious but I really loved the Nueske bacon, the pork chops, and the souffle. Was pleasantly surprised that they used Okinawan kokuto (black sugar) in their fancy Old Fashioned! So yeah, here to say that the service was great and this was a lovely celebration for our family. But be on the safe side and see if you can be seated in Shaun/Sean/Shawn's section. :) Oh, one quibble. Not a fan of their tea selection. There's one Asian tea choice (Sencha) and the rest are things like Raspberry, Peppermint, Chamomile kine tea. Felt like tea for mainland tastes.
It was a great gathering here with my co-workers. We were able to reserve a small private room to fit the 12 of us. We had our own private wait help and assistant that were very attentive. The food was unforgettable. Steak was a huge portion with enough to take home. We all enjoyed everything that was ordered, (refer to my photos). Service was professional.
The food was delicious! My family and I had 2 of the 3 course menus, a dry aged ribeye, and a filet mignon with lobster. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly, but it was a bit tough on the outside. They accompanied this was truffle garlic butter (your choice) and it elevated the dish tremendously. The chocolate cake was amazing as well, soft on the inside but slightly crispy on the outside, and the amazing fudginess that leaks out once you bite into it. The customer service was also great, they were very attentive to us and even sang happy birthday for my dad. Great restaurant :).
The Bubbles & Bites menu special for January was announced on Instagram (I saw it when my friend sent it which was posted by @cheyennetheblogger) and I put in the special message to receive the link, made the rezzy and glad we did. Sponsored by Veuve Clicquot, options included champagne or a martini, 2 beef or chicken sliders, and regular or truffle fries. The food was cooked perfectly. Such a cute presentation! Happy Hour Meals!! #pauhanameals For the special, they required you to sit in the bar area and advertised the combo meal at $29 each. Amazing. Morton's is nice, and has good food so you cannot go wrong. I will definitely be on the lookout for this type of special again. On top of the delicious, and filling happy meal, we ordered the old fashioned- smoked to compliment the cheesecake. Their cheesecake is not a slice, take a look at the photo. It is quite a nice serving so we ate about half and I took the rest to go. Excellent service in the bar area!!!!!!
We opted for an early Mother's Day dinner at Morton's Steakhouse, selecting three entrees to share, accompanied by oysters, wagyu meatballs, mushrooms and spinach, and a house salad. Each dish, including the Tomahawk Ribeye, King Crab, and King Salmon, exceeded expectations. Our server Henry provided excellent service and other staff were cordial Each dish was prepared superbly and was delicious.
We went to Morton's for my SO's birthday celebration in the early evening on a weekday. They had a private function going on, which seemed to affect the speed of food service. I did like the décor -- chic and simple. We started off with Morton's Margarita. It was a bit different but pretty good, and I liked that it was strong :D For the appetizer, we wanted the Crab Cake but it wasn't available, so we went with the Seared Scallops instead. Unfortunately, the bacon wrapping completely overpowered the scallops, so I could hardly taste the seafood at all. For the main dish, we ordered the Tomahawk Ribeye (medium). It took quite a while to come out, and by the time it did, I was already full from the complimentary bread. When the steak finally arrived, it was unevenly cooked -- about 70% rare and the rest well done, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the sides -- Loaded Baked Potato and Sautéed Spinach & Button Mushrooms -- were pretty good. They also surprised us with Morton's Legendary Hot Chocolate Cake for the birthday, which was a nice touch. My SO had the Mortini, which was well made too. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I'm not sure I'd return since there are quite a few other steak places around that I prefer.
I'm disappointed on the broccolini. Dry and could not believe the texture. I've been here a handful of times, I know the broccoli is good. But broccolini, I'm having stomach pains from this one. Service was good, one guy was always smiling and friendly to us, unfortunately this was not our waiter! I hope they can improve these things cause I do come here for steak and other foods.
Let me start this with had I not have purchased a stack of Mortons's gift cards from Costco before coming, I would probably be even more displeased than I am now with my experience. I get it is the holidays and it's busy but come on now. The place is clean but quite overcrowded and noisy due to the dense crowd. It seems they jammed as many tables as they could into the main dining room. Certainly not ADA compliant. There would be no way you could navigate a wheelchair through the tables. Maybe along either side of the wall but not if you needed to get to a table in the middle of the room. Not that I had a person in a wheelchair in my party, but something I notice as a person that works in the medical field. We had 8 in our party. They sat us at a 4 top that they folded out the extension part that turns the square into a circle. It was quite tight sitting 8 people on a table that normally seats 4. Folding out that little bit of table did barely anything for space. To add insult to injury, our table was dome shaped. Clearly seen better days. I'm guessing the curving of the table are from people putting their body weight on it leaning onto the table. I spent the night worrying my glass of water would fall over and soak me if someone bumped the table. Additionally my glassware was cracked with a large L shaped crack that ran down half the cup. I regret not taking a picture of this for evidence. How this glass made it to the table and was not replaced before I got to it shows a lack of attention to detail or simply disregard for excellence that is expected. Service was ok at best. Not the wow experience I expect from a fine dining restaurant. Food was mostly disappointing. Especially after taking over an hour to get to the table. Ocean Platter, oysters rockafeller, creamed spinach, dry aged ribeye were all mediocre at best. The ocean platter didn't taste like eating fresh seafood. Plating for the steaks were sloppy. My dry aged ribeye lacked flavor. Tender, yes. Flavor, no. The New York that came to the table was quite charred. Temperature on it was correct but I would call it burnt, see picture. The best steak that came out was the Cajun ribeye my son ordered. The lobster mac shells and cheese was poorly made. The sauce was grainy. Whoever made that dish needs to be re-educated/trained on how to properly make a rue. Flavor was also lacking. The best items that came to the table were the complimentary bread, French onion soup, smoked gouda and bacon au gratin potatoes, and my lemon drop mortini. The bill came out to over $1000 for 8 people, which I expected and would have been fine with if the experience matched the hefty tab. But it did not. I will not be coming back. I do not recommend.
I figured go to a steak house and get the best steak. We ordered the tomahawk (medium), rib eye bone in, rib eye, steak and lobster, Cesar salad, wagyu meat balls, fries, mash, lobster mash, cream corn, sautéed mushrooms, and broccolini. First the sides. All were good and okay, but I favor the sautéed mushrooms. Very flavorful and delicious. The meatballs were also phenomenal, my nephew actually enjoyed them. The mash was like any other place and the lobster mash was so/so nothing out of this world. Now the steak. Boy where do I begin. The tomahawk (medium) was too rare and tasteless. The ribeyes had flavor but was too tough same goes for the lobster tail. Service was okay. We did not receive our salad so we cancelled it but they brought it to us with no charge. They also offered to cook the tomahawk to the correct doneness. All in all it was something to experience, but in my opinion I tried steak that was far more tender and flavorful elsewhere.

This was our first time here for our wedding anniversary but we could feel that this is a great place to fine dine for special occasions. Staff was very friendly. Food was good. We tried the crab cakes for appetizer. My wife had the filet and I had the sea bass. We ordered mushroom/spinach and lobster Mac & cheese as sides. They gave us a complimentary dessert for our anniversary celebration which was awesome. Loved the experience and would definitely come again. read more
This was the second time I've been to Morton's. Unfortunately I don't have a clear recollection of my first visit. To me that suggests that I was not really impressed with him way or the other. This time we were there to celebrate your birthday. I have to say we felt very rushed during the order taking time. The server made all of us feel like she just wanted to get our order and submit it. She didn't really want to take the time to give us any information. We ended up ordering appetizers but after looking at the menu more closely we found that there were some that appeared to be interesting combo appetizer plates, so we requested to change right after she left our table. Needless to say she was really annoyed that we changed our order. The appetizer plates were OK. At $26 there were four items, a crabcake, a scallop, a shrimp, and an oyster Rockefeller. The crabcake and the Rockefeller were pretty good. My shrimp tasted spoiled and scallop was just simply too salty. They had a special of steak and lobster that evening for $55. I thought that was pretty reasonable. I had that for dinner and will say that the steak was nicely done and the lobster was fine. I did ask the server to make sure that the lobster was not overcooked. We ordered several sides, mashed potatoes, cream corn, and spinach and mushrooms. They were fine, but nothing to necessarily sing praises about. They did provide a complementary stay chocolate soufflé for the birthday lady and we all shared the giant chocolate sundae. The desserts were delicious and the coffee was good All in all for what we paid, I think you get a better meal for your money at Hy's. Personally I would not choose to go to Morton's on my own. read more

We ordered to-go and this is probably the worst steak ever. Outback, L and L, Herringbone, Mina's are even better. Rib eye is not fine cut, meat are mostly ligaments, fats and gristle. Meat is broiled not even grilled. $70 Lobster Mac was not lobster but more like imitation crab on top of burnt macaroni. $27 This is not top of the line or fine dining at all. Title: Much better than the last time I visited this place, but still there is some distance between this one than those in the mainland. Pros: - nice environment - good service - good wine list... and wine is not overcharged - food is not bad... Cons: - food is not bad, but not great either I came from the Bay Area and the Morton's at Union Square was one of my favorite steakhouses in SF. I used to go there a lot. Ok... I came to this one several times already. The beef they use is... just different than those used in the mainland. It is... tougher and rough-er? NY, filet, rib-eye, wagyu... something is wrong with the steaks here. However, it is getting better. Compared to say 10 years ago their steaks are getting better. At least I don't mind coming here anymore. 10 or more years ago I wouldn't come here if I had to pay. Oysters, lobster soup, salads are all good but not stunning. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout and got the filet mignon and Cajun ribeye for entrees, both at medium rare. The filet was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately the ribeye was very overcooked and well done. The steak was brown and tough. The Cajun seasoning was dry and grainy. I didn't want to deal with the hassle or complain about it, but it was unappetizing and ultimately unacceptable for the price, so I decided to say something. Luckily, the manager Ryan corrected the mistake and the redone steak was delicious! The Cajun spices complements the ribeye nicely and it was worth the wait and trouble. There was huge disruption in our meal so while it wasn't much of a date night, the food was good and in the end, we were both happy. Thank you to Ryan for turning the night around! If it hadn't been for his understanding and help, I would not have returned to Morton's. He provided great customer service, which I honestly didn't expect. The last meal I ordered takeout for the two of us was about a year ago (worth $288), the host stand staff was very unwelcoming. My order wasn't ready when it was supposed to be, but I was stiffly told I could wait on the side. I was treated as a nuisance, and felt really uncomfortable which is why it took me so long to place another order. To note- I have more of a leniency toward takeout orders, especially with food temperatures, so I am not writing this review with the same expectations of in-service dining. I have received excellent steaks for takeout from other restaurants such as 53 by the sea and Bernini. Morton's can deliver also and I will return thanks to Ryan. read more

The hubby and I ate here again for their Halloween special. You could pick from a list of starters, entrees, accompaniments, and desserts for $35. I got the cup of Baked Five-Onion Soup, 6oz. Filet Mignon, Mashed Potatoes, and Key Lime Pie. The hubby got the Morton's Salad, Chicken Bianco, Mashed Potatoes, and Double Chocolate Mousse. We also ordered the Oysters Rockefeller as another starter. Everything was delicious! The filet mignon just melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium well and it came out just slightly pink. It was perfect. The mash was smooth and creamy. There was a lot of mash in the dish. I loved the key lime pie. It wasn't too tart and it wasn't too sweet. It just balanced each other out. It's one of the best that I've tasted. The only complaint that I have are with the oysters. It was good and cooked just right. However, they only give four small oysters. Other fine dining establishments give five huge oysters at the same price point. The service is always impeccable. The water glasses are always filled and they constantly check to see that everything is ok. I'm happy to report that they did away with the two tops. The whole restaurant is now four tops or booths. The last time, they squeezed my 6'4" 300 pound hubby and I on a two top. We didn't have room for anything. This time we got a booth, yay! read more
If you're a steak lover like me, I have to say this is one of the best steakhouses in Honolulu. Friday and Saturday's are the hardest days to get a reservation, also said by the person who took our reservations and using opentable to find a timeslot. Ended up getting an evening reservation for 2 pax this past Sunday. By surprise, it was kind of a busy night too. I haven't been here in years, and I automatically noticed the black walls and seats were black too, they must have updated the place recently. Got seated at a spacious table that could seat a party of 4. Thier bread a d butter was a good start. Didn't bother ordering appetizers and went straight for the entrees. My husband ordered I believe it was called shrimp scampi capellini, basically pasta with large sized shrimp. I choose thier filet mignon with grilled asparagus. Delicious! No room for dessert. Morton's is more of a special occasion type of restaurant, but I think there are regular customers who have bottles of wine or other alcohol saved on reserve locked up in cabinets out near the host stand. Valet parking is available even during covid, but on a Sunday self parking is wide open, considering it's Christmas season, Ala Moana Center has hundreds of free parking all around. read more

I reserved a table for my boyfriends birthday which went smooth, when we go to the restaurant we waited about 5-10 minutes to get seated. There wasn't a hostess at the front for a while. We got seated at a nice booth and we had our menus on the table with a happy birthday greeting for my boyfriend which i thought was really cute and special. Our waiter was busy so he didn't get to us as fast. But he got our orders right and boy let me tell you, our food was delicious! Overall our experience here at Morton's was great and I will gladly come back to try more on the menu. read more

I've never been much of a steak person, but have been wanting to try a good steakhouse. Let's just say my expectations were beyond met! We started out with the crab cakes, which were AMAZING. The crab cakes were paired perfectly with a hot mustard flavored sauce that added a nice kick of flavor. For my entree I ordered the fillet and lobster Oscar. The fillet was cooked to medium perfection. The lobster was tender and very tasty with a buttery sauce. Definitely will be returning to Morton's!! read more

Another Great Dinner At Morton's!!! This past weekend we celebrated our good friends birthday at Morton's Steak House and I can honestly say FOOD WAS AMAZE BALLS AGAIN!!! Starters we had 4 trays of oyster on the half shell, cocktail shrimp 2x, shrimp Alexandra 2x, lobster Mac and cheese and a Caesar salad for each couple. Oh shoot not just for me and my hubby hahaha it was a party of 8 Any who starters were on point then came the dinner I'm not sure if I remember what everyone had but I can name a few. I had the Ribeye with cauliflower mash OMG cauliflower one of my favs there. Husband had the 64oz porter house Friends had- porter house, filet mignon, ribeye, asparagus with balsamic (oh boy that was bomb) Lobster tail Baked potato Sauces- black truffle butter for my rib eye ( I just can't describe it without my mouth watering) lol So much to rave about!!! Another of my favorites at Morton's is the ambiance, I love the dim light, chefs cooking it up in the corner. It's a sexy sultry feel. A great experience from start to finish. Excellent customer service from everyone!! We arrived early to our reservations so we sat at the bar for a drink from the happy hour menu. The bartender was amazing. We than were seated in a booth. And our server took great care of us from attentive. Explained the menu well. The food was unbelievably delicious! The onion bread so soft and fresh. I than got the lobster bisque and it was so good, big pieces of lobster claw. I than ordered the surf and turf with lobster tail. Cooked perfectly no complaints here. And we got the molten chocolate cake with ice cream and Creme brûlée ugh so good!! If you are celebrating something special this is your place. read more
This review is long overdue: I work in the healthcare industry so the current events have had me extremely busy and unable to appreciate the simple pleasures, like Going out! This review is for my birthday August 25, 2020. Yes it's been 3 months and, after that long this meal And this service deserves five stars: if you folks remember, at the time we were about to go on a lock down that Wednesday. I'm not a steak fan, but we made reservation here because it had been so long, and I remembered the awesome seafood selections. Ok so we walk in and, immediately I got Happy Birthdays from Everyone! I mean Everyone! The bussers, the bartender, the hostess. It was like we were the blue ones there. Which of course the place was packed being the last night and all. Our server was awesome, our service was amazing. It put the faith of customer service back in my heart. Oh, the food... I had the lump crab cakes and my husband had the porter steak. We ordered like we'd never eat again lol Everything was delicious! Then our server came and asked to take our picture. And before we left they gave us a photo to commentate our night with, " Happy Birthday Angel" written on the picture fold. That has to be our best photo of 2020. I'm sorry this took so long, but I want to thank everyone for making my night so special. This night is where service, ambiance, and food all hit five stars. It's rare but it does happen. I'm so glad I made reservations ahead for Valentines Dinner. My husband and I was looking forward to the dinner since it's our first time. As we got in, we had to write our info down and the place was kinda dark. Seems busy due to valentines but everyone is spaced out. We had our server Paul, and glad we got him cuz we enjoyed having him! He was very informational and detailed, very attentive, and super nice! He asked if it was our first time and of course looking at the wines there's so many to choose. Instead of going for the 3 course menu for Valentines, we chose to go on their regular menu . Everything is Ala Cart, but everything to us was good and worth it. Yeah it's pricey but it seems better as other places we been too. I got the 12 oz filet migon and my husband got the 42 oz porterhouse. Our sides was the sautéed mushrooms and onions and we got asparagus. Our appetizers was the Wagyu meatballs and Cesar salad to share. Finally we got our dessert, creme brûlée. But their complimentary bread was on point! It was Bomb! Their bread was better than other places we been too. All in all, our server was good and so was the food. We will be coming back , and we would like to have Paul as our server again. Grey traditional Steakhouse located on the top floor of the on the Moana Shopping Center. You would need to the drive to the third floor to access the private elevator that goes into the restaurant. The interior is very elegant and has a very intimate atmosphere. They start you off with a warm baked bread with creamy butter. Today there was a special on a bottle of cabernet Sauvignon and it really quench our thirst for alcohol. We had the salad, filet mignon, and short ribs with fettuccine. I have always longed to try Morton's , but have always thought of it as an upscale steakhouse that was out of my budget. I joined their mailing list several months ago http://www.mortons.com/ and received emails about ongoing specials, then I saw an email that really caught my attention. It was Morton's Three Course Menu Special for $36 running till January 15th at participating locations,Yes Hawaii is one of them. QUALITY. CONSISTENCY. GENUINE HOSPITALITY. These are the core values of the Morton's chain for almost 40 years. Today, there are over 69 restaurants nationwide, one being in our backyard at Ala Moana Shopping Center. I have dined here over a half dozen times (primarily work), but on February 13, this was for something uniquely different. I planned a surprise graduation party for my husband Ikaika O. This was the only steakhouse he hadn't been to, and thirty of his closest family and friends were waiting to share in his accomplishment over a Platinum Menu of exquisite taste. Although the event couldn't stay a surprise, the night was just as memorable. To arrange your special event, there are four prix fixe menus to choose from: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond Menus that run from $90 to $150 per guest. I went with the Platinum because guests have the choice between Ribeye and Filet Mignon; two of my favorite cuts of steak with such polar qualities. The menu set includes a selection of hors d'oeuvres, soup, salad, accompaniments, and dessert. Bottom line: Everyone leaves feeling full and satisfied. There's also a Keiki Menu for the smaller humans: Mini cheeseburgers or chicken goujonettes (a fancy term for chicken strips), fruit, cheese, crackers, and ice cream for $35. For the apps, I chose the Ahi Tuna Crisps, Crab Cakes, and Bruschetta. The crab cakes received the most praise for its hearty chunks of crab meat and robust flavor. Soup was either lobster bisque or five onion. I went with the bisque, and while most guests loved it, there is a heat factor that made it too spicy for some. Caesar salad was an easy option and the three main events that I selected were the Prime Ribeye, Filet Mignon, and Salmon Beurre Blanc. You can also choose the Prime New York, Chicken Christopher, Veal Chop, Chilean Sea Bass, or Jumbo Shrimp Alexander. The steaks were temped perfectly. Warm pink centers for the med rare made many tummies happy. Accompaniments were creamed spinach and twice baked potatoes au gratin. Other choices were sour cream mashed potatoes, baked potato, sautéed asparagus, garlic green beans, and creamed corn. Exceptional sides. The food did not disappoint. An abundance of gratitude to a phenomenal staff: First, a virtual applause for Janey Bullock, the Special Events coordinator. She was a joy to work with, and emails were prompt and professional. There was absolutely nothing Janey wouldn't accommodate to, including the Make-Your-Own-Italian-Cream-Soda-Bar idea I crafted for the guests. I've done multiple parties at many restaurants, and Morton's exceeded my expectation in their stellar customer service. The staff allowed me to view the room schematics, take photos, and ask questions the month prior. Laura the manager was also very helpful in collecting our supplies the night prior, with Janey's approval. Geneva facilitated the towing of goods and the staff was excellent in their reminder calls and confirmation of the event. All of the women were so pleasant, with such warm smiles and excellent demeanor. The cherry on top, however, belongs to Todd, our server. Todd is the consummate server captain that embodies Morton's core values. I vividly remember him from a work seminar almost a year ago. His spiel, energy, and professionalism were remarkable. From that one impression, I committed to hosting a party at Morton's specifically because of Todd. Todd imparts his server knowledge in recommending table layout, timing of service, and guest configuration. Our party of 21 adults and 5 children ran smooth and effortlessly. His explanation of steak cuts to the guests was polished and epicuriously tantalizing. Aly was our second server who had joined the Morton's team not too long ago, and she did a terrific job assisting Todd. The ambiance is a dark and classy look, we did a walk in for a last minute anniversary celebration with my honey. They got us in and even had a happy anniversary menu that we got to take home and a complimentary chocolate cake which was so yummy! The service was great, our server was extremely pleasant and gave me all the hot sauce my heart desired. The food was ok.. we got the grilled oysters which were loaded with bacon and a creamy sauce. The bacon wrapped scallops were a bit over cooked and just seemed to lack flavor overall. I got the lobster and filet mignon which were cooked to perfect. The rack of lambs was definitely the star of the show. The seasoning and how perfectly it was cooked left my partner and I fighting for the dish. I would definitely go back for that! We did have a hard time finding the location but we called and the host was more than happy to give us directions. I suggest parking in the back by old navy and Tesla, there is a red carpet by a elevator that takes you to the restaurant. read more

BEST. STEAKHOUSE. EVER. I have tried a few steakhouses in my day...at least 5 in the past year, but this is hands down the best overall experience. They are the renaissance girl of steakhouses because they have it all - great service, amazing food, and good ambiance. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to go to Morton's because it was that forbidden, way-too-expensive restaurant that was always out of reach of my wallet. Well, last night was my lucky day because my in-laws were kind enough to take my husband and I, as well as my parents, to a dinner for my birthday. It was a bit late, but I didn't mind. The first thing I noticed was that the restaurant printed a special menu for our table that read "Happy Birthday, Taryn!" at the top with the date of our visit. They also had birthday confetti on the table. What a way to make a first impression and start the evening right. It was already looking like a good dinner. The waiter, Ryan, was exceptional. He memorized the two dinner specials that were currently in effect - we are not just talking about 2 entrees - I mean two full dinners. One special was their Summer Special - a four course meal that included 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 1 entree with a choice of a side dish, and 1 dessert. Their other special was a steak and seafood meal that is a three course meal. He explained what choices came with each course and the differences between the two specials. Ryan was very attentive, always checking in on how we were doing and how the food was. Our water glasses were always full and the meal was timed well. One course would finish and we didn't wait too long for the next course to start. The food was amazing. I ordered the 4-course summer special: COURSE 1 - APPETIZER - BAKED FIVE ONION SOUP The soup was served at the perfect temperature with the cheesy top that I love so much - the cheese was not gooey, but more of a chewy texture, which complimented the soup very well. The soup had a great flavor and was not overly salty. COURSE 2 - SALAD - CHOPPED SPINACH SALAD The spinach was chopped well and the spinach was very fluffy - not wilted like other spinach salads I am used to. It was also a cold salad, which also made it different. It had a light vinaigrette dressing with bacon bits (already beckoning to the bacon lover in me), chopped red onion, and chopped up hard-boiled eggs as toppings. Loved it...what can I say, the salad had me at bacon bits. COURSE 3 - ENTREE - 6 OZ. FILET The filet was amazing! While it may not be in a pool of melted butter, the steak was cooked and seasoned so well, it didn't need anything else. First thing I noticed - I start cutting into my filet and I realized I didn't need to put my hulk-like strength into cutting the meat like I do at other places. Ok...I may not have hulk-like strength, but I do need to put some effort into cutting steak at other restaurants. While I needed a knife to cut into the meat, it was still super easy to cut with the knife and I could actually pull it apart with just my fork. It was flavored very well. I also tried my husband's rib-eye and father-in-law's cajun rib-eye. Both were very tender. The cajun rib-eye lacked the kick of heat and spice I was expecting, but had the distinct flavor of cajun spices in the meat (not just on the outside, but it went all the way through). COURSE 3.1 - SIDE DISH - LYONNAISE POTATOES The potatoes had a great texture - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I detected a slight hint of basil in the seasoning. I loved the caramelized onions too. Great dish. I also tried the following dishes: MASHED POTATOES - after eating at Ruth Chris last week, I lost faith in mashed potatoes, but Morton's restored my faith. Morton's mashed potatoes were DELICIOUS - it had body (definitely not watery) and had a nice garlic flavor. Definitely goes well with steak. BACON AND ONION MAC N CHEESE - I couldn't taste the onion, but it had real bacon pieces inside. The pasta was al dente (loved it!) and the cheese was not at all saucy like what you would get with the boxed type. Really liked Morton's take on mac-n-cheese. SPINACH WITH MUSHROOMS - lightly flavored and not watery. A good complimentary dish and works well with potatoes and steak. COURSE 4- DESSERT NEW YORK CHEESECAKE - as a nice gift for my birthday, Morton's gave me their famous NY cheesecake with a creme brulee top. I love creme brulee because of that crispy top. The cheesecake came with a dollop of whip cream and fresh strawberries in a strawberry sauce. The cheesecake was light and went well with the fruit. I could not finish it at the restaurant, but it was perfect for a late night snack. KEY LIME PIE - I ordered that as part of my meal, but I couldn't finish it since I was so full. As a momento, we got a free picture to remember the evening. Definitely will be coming here again. read more

This was our first time at Morton's. We arrived with high expections based on good reviews but left pretty disappointed. We ordered the Valentine's Day fixed 3 course menu. The lobster bisque was good, it had several chunks of lobster on it, but the serving size was pretty small. It came in a small cup, I thought it would come in a bowl. Our entree was a 6 oz filet and lobster tail. The lobster tail didn't really have flavor and was overcooked and rubbery. I doused it in the butter to make it more palatable, but it didn't help much. The steak was cooked at a medium, the way I ordered it. Sadly, it didn't have much flavor and it didn't cut as buttery smooth as all other filet mignons I've had at other restaurants. We paid an extra $10 to upgrade our side dish to the lobster Mac and cheese. It had a good amount of lobster chunks in it, yet again, this dish also lacked flavor. For dessert my hubby got the creme brulee. It wasn't bad, but nothing special either. I chose the Cheesecake. This was the most dense cheesecake I've ever had. I could only take one bite of it, it was thick. Our meal came with a bottle of of cabarnet. I would say that, and the complimentary sweet onion bread loaf were the best tasting things of our meal. Overall, the food was lacking flavor and we felt it was all very much over priced. The atmosphere is pretty dark and not very romantic. Very dark walls and not a lot of nice light fixtures or art to look at. Morton's has been around for a long time and has a decent rating so we had high hopes, but this place didn't meet our expectations at all. At least service was good. I am a girl that likes extra sauce and lots of flavor. If you are like me, I don't recommend this restaurant. We will not be coming back. read more

Hi Nanette, we do not. However, we do offer happy hour (Power Hour) from open-7 PM M-Th and from open-6 pm on Fri in the bar area. There you can enjoy bar bites and specially priced cocktails, beer and wine pours.

It says dressy but when we were there, people had tshirts and shorts and slippers. So I'm not sure. I guess it's casual.

Ala Carte - split the sides with someone unless you choose mashed potatoes (which are delicious!). The mashed potatoes are good for one but the rest of the vegetable servings are huge!!!
Do they still have valet service since the remodel of the Ewa end of Ala Moana? If so is there a cost (besides tipping the valet)?
Yes but really not needed as ther are hundreds of parking stalls within a 150 feet. Unless you have an awsum expensive ride you want to protect
Can Morton's accommodate a motor scooter?
I believe it's possible as you need to take an elevator to the restaurant anyway. But to be safe,i suggest you call them.
I can't quite tell from the pictures but how is the seating arrangement in this establishment? Is it pretty " close quarters" or a bit more spaced out and comfortable?
It's average. You're not right on top of the next table, but there isn't an acre between you, either. Rarely can I overhear conversation at a neighboring table and I don't get brushed up against by servers or other patrons passing by.
Is this someplace great for an anniversary dinner? Is there anything special done by the staff?
Excellent for special occasions! When making or reservations we let the receptionist know that we were celebrating a couple of birthdays and our meal came with a customized menu with our birthday girls name at the top, a free photo of our party…
What is the dress code?
Well since mortons is located in the mall, they really can't deny any paying customers unless they are in beach wear lol.. but I think appropriate wear would be casual!! Some people get dressy there!!
