My wife signed in on the wait list as a party of two, but we had our baby with us. Without even having to ask, the staff had a table set up with a high chair for us. They even had a cute place setting for our baby. The dineLA menu has such great value. 6 handrolls (all bluffing tuna), a side order of udon, a small seaweed salad, and a matcha pudding/red bean/strawberry dessert. The meal even comes with your choice of draft beer or housemade koso drink. The handrolls all had good quantity and quality of fish, with good levels of seasoning/toppings. We were both stuffed after our set meal and had to dig deep to try the other three pieces. Protip: eat your handrolls before the udon. We waited too long to get to some of the handrolls and the sauce made it through the rice and got the seaweed soggy.

Kristel was incredibly friendly and attentive, and we even got to meet the owner, Zaldy, who treated us like family. The pre-prepared dishes are served promptly. The bad: the food/order pick-up system for items that need to be grilled/fried is chaotic. You're given a number to pick up your order by the cashier and directed to the pick up window. There is someone assigned to the grill area and a different person handles the side dishes. There does not appear to be any system of communication between the two areas such that the protein is held under the heat lamp area until the other person adds the side dish (fries, coleslaw, etc) to complete the order. To make things even more chaotic, the staff does not consistently call out numbers when to food is ready for pickup. Instead, the customers crowd the pick up area calling out their own order numbers to see if it's ready. The staff is nice and they seem to try their best overall, but their current system needs to be improved.
