Would you rather Round Table or Mountain Mike's edition... That's really what it comes down to. My answer honestly? Mountain Mike's. If you're going for any other pizza though, then yeah maybe go to Fattes where you get a free pizza when you spend as much as it costs to go here. I tried this place because I've seen it as a chain in other cities and thought I would give this new one in my town the first try of eating there ever. The pepperoni that's burnt/curled is a wow factor for sure, and that's why if it was between round table or there I would choose it. The wings were also okay, if you can't get to wing stop or bdubs (east coast name for Buffalo Wild Wings). This is why it's getting an average score for me. The price is definitely not worth it, I was expecting the sizes to be bigger than the ones around here since the price for a small is like the price for a large (the small has a nice cut of 8 pieces though which I did appreciate). Tl;dr - the pizza is currently way too expensive for its quality. I got take out to check out the place and it was a bit confusing on where the line was supposed to go as well but looks like it has nice indoor and outdoor seating. Although we sorely miss Marsten's 101 and it's full bar (the prior business in this location), my husband and I decided to try Mountain Mike's pizza. I grew up in Northern California, where we had this chain, so I was excited to see one come to Atascadero. I passed by the site a few nights ago, and it looked insanely busy. So we decided to come for lunch on the weekend, when it was not so busy. We split a medium Pike's Peak (all meat) pizza and a side salad. Patrons also have the option of a limitless salad bar. There was a decent array of choices, and the bar seemed well maintained (& replenished). The pizza was absolutely loaded with meat and had a pretty good sauce; I'm a big fan of Round Table pizza's sauce, but this was definitely comparable. Our pizza came pretty timely. Staff were friendly and actively engaged in cleaning during slow periods. Unfortunately the paper towel dispenser in the ladies' restroom was not functioning well, but I opted to not hold it against them in my overall rating. There was an area (presumably for the kids) near the old bar area that had a few video games. There were several beers on tap, local wine options, hard seltzers, and several non-alcoholic options. On this occasion, we ended up taking pizza home, because the pizza was SO loaded with meat that the medium was really more than we needed (we could have split a small instead). For a mediums pizza, a salad, a beer and a soda we spent about $40. This was not so bad, considering that we took enough pizza home to cover another meal for the two of us. I was super disappointed by the customer service. I ordered a large half cheese and half pineapple and ham pizza. I waited an HOUR to get the pizza to find out they took it for delivery. They took it to the wrong house, customer opened it, than they brought it back where they gave it to me. The biggest let down of the century. I got only a Snowy Alps pizza. It is VERY delicious! Much, much better than Nardonne's pizza. I got it as a carry-out, and it was ready when I got there (earlier than their time estimate). Mountain Mikes pizza is probably hands down one of the best pizzas around in California! But this certain location get ruined by the service provided by the employees that work there! The owner or manager has employed immature, self-entitled, disrespectful, eye rolling rude young adults! I have always believed as a past manager of a retail store your only as best as your weakest employee and this Mountain Mikes has a lot of weak self absorbed employees! The franchise owners/ managers should be embarrassed. They Should reevaluate they're employee and give them a hand book on common curtsey and respect of their customers! The pizza here is very tasty and delicious. No bull about this. My wife and I have been here a couple of times or more for lunch together for the buffet.(11am - 2p) Once with family and were not disappointed when we came to eat because their chicken club and their Everest Pizza, for starters are two of our favorites so far. Went for the lunch buffet with a friend. We both prefer thin crust and mostly vegetarian. I asked the friendly cashier if they serve thin crust pizza on the buffet and she said not usually but she could put in a request to the kitchen. Within 10 minutes a beautiful vegetarian, thin crust pizza was put out on the buffet line. The manager/owner sought me out to say it was ready and he would make another one if we asked. It's was delicious and loaded with all good stuff. So I ask you Mountain Mike's, please put the thin crust on the lunch buffet!! Please! I'll be back but would rather not have to do special requests. Many people these days prefer thin crust over the traditional thicker, sometimes doughy crust. Thinner crust is less carbs and quicker to cook! I hope they read and consider this. Tried their crispy pepperoni pizza and it didn't disappoint! The dough was a bit thicker/doughier than I prefer, I think they have a thinner crust. The sauce was super tasty! I also ordered the honey garlic chicken wings which were very juicy and good! The ranch dressing was prepackaged Ken's dressing, not house made, but was still good. We are three adults staying next door at Holiday Inn realizing there's not much later-night dining options. Just to carry us over to the next day we got a thin crust pizza. It definitely surpassed our expectations (our previous Mtn Mike experience at other NorCal locations left much to be desired) with topping all the way to the edge of the crust and piled on. I came in with a group of 9, most of which were college football players that can eat!! It was an hour before closing and we ordered 3 pizzas and 2 large orders of wings. The food hit the table within 20-30 minutes and was fantastic. The staff worked very well in the front of the house and was efficient.
