We had a coupon for a free medium pizza and decided to try MM's for the first time. I ordered two pizzas (one large Pike's Peak meat lovers and one medium chicken) for pick-up and they were ready 20-30 min later. Overall, the flavor was better than I expected. However, it was an inconsistent experience otherwise. The Pike's Peak large was burned on the edges, as well as some of the pepperoni being overcooked. The medium chicken was not overcooked and had a good amount of chicken on it. It was good. My family said that overall they like Papa Johns better (or Whole Foods). I have ordered from this Mountain Mikes several times. Tonight was my last order. The pizza arrived after 1.5 hours. something was seriously wrong with the crust. I ate a slice and a bite because I was hungry. I then called to ask what was wrong. I was told they would send me a new pizza. No, I did not want one. the ball of dough in my stomach was enough for this evening. They said they might give me a credit but they needed to pick up the bad pizza 1st. Well after an hour and a half waiting for the delivery and my stomach already hurting I said no. My evening has already been imposed upon enough. So I will never order anther pizza from this facility ever again. That is my solution to this bad pizza experience, end of story. read more

Late review from 12/29/19-- Ordered was submitted online for delivery at 1:59PM and system indicated it would be 45-55 mins for delivery. Well 1.5 hours later, no delivery, no call. I called and the clerk said they were super busy and that my order still hadn't baked yet. Ok, a courtesy call indicating order delay would've been appreciated. Clerk said it would be an hour out for delivery. Ok so another hour passes by and still no delivery and again, yes you guessed it...no call. Called again and the clerk said on the way. I went with my daughter and her friends for my daughters 16th birthday. We showed up at 10:15, ordered, and the cashier said we can dine in as long as we leave before they close at 11pm. I thanked her and promised to leave by 10:50pm. The person who served us our food by 10:30 rushed us all out along with other customers who were still eating. When we started eating, he was extremely rude. Told us we couldn't eat there because they had to clean up. He even turned the lights off while we were still eating. How was he supposed to clean with the lights off? It was only 10:30 and we were told we can stay until 10:50. They close at 11pm. I had no intention of staying past closing. I came here with my friends the other night for a quick dinner. We got a mountain sized (20-inch) Pikes Peak (all meat) pizza and 3 sodas. The total for all this was a little over $40 (after tax), which isn't too bad. The pizza came pretty fast, since we were in a hurry. The Pikes Peak comes with sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, salami, linguica and ham. The pizza tasted pretty good, with a good amount of meat, but not too oily. We didn't realize it, but the mountain size pizza is big enough for 6-8 people, not just the 3 of us. We were lucky to eat half of it, and took the rest home. read more

Went here with my BFF and this is one of our spots when we're craving pizza for lunch. I mean how many choices do you really have in Castro Valley? We've been here multiple times and are always really happy when we're here. The salad bar is decent and the pizza is warm and tasty. Worker previously said 1 hr wait time, Frank said 30-35 min & would make sure it was cooked. Gave him a heads up as raw pizza dough can contain salmonella or e-coli. This is our first time at this location. We usually go to the one in Union City, not sure if it's the same owner though. Pretty good sized place with enough tables. There's a little arcade area for the kids that's is in a semi separate room while they wait for the pizza to arrive at the tables. The salad bar is OK, the lettuce was kind of brown and wilted on top but underneath was better. One person in our group is in a wheelchair and we asked if the restrooms had another access because the only way we could get to it was to go up 3 steps. I called, and they told me they were short on drivers, which I felt should have been disclosed at the time of ordering. I immediately call the branch, and a man answers. I explained that my wings had been opened and touched. He replies and says "thats impossible." I ask him, "How does he know that?" I have gone for the dinner buffet a couple of times on Wednesday night. They don't always execute it very well. Last time I waited a long time for them to bring out new pizzas. They have a big screen TV that usually has sports and that is nice, especially if you are eating the pizza buffet. The salad bar is okay, but nothing too special or out of the ordinary. Soda costs extra with the buffet. The staff has always been nice, friendly and efficient. They do a great job. I'm not sure who is in charge of the pizza buffet, but it would be great if they stepped up their supervision of the buffet. That being said, if I'm ever in the mood to tear up some pizza on a Wednesday night, I'm always down to stop by. It is pretty close to me and there is always plenty of parking. They also have a room you can reserve for groups. I've seen special groups in there a few different times. If you have kids, they have a few video games and one of those claw things that grabs prizes. I do agree with some of the other reviewers that their pizza seems a little extra "bready." It would be nice if their crust was a bit thinner and if they used more sauce and cheese (especially for the buffet pizzas). read more

I. Hate. Leaving. Bad. Reviews. Especially because a while back, okay, it was a long time ago, maybe two years, we ordered one of the same pizzas we got tonight, and two years ago it was absolutely fabulous!!! I will accept half the blame because I didn't ask for thin crust as we usually would. However, this was one of the worst pizzas we've ever tasted! The main problem is the crust was so puffy, it reminded me of when I get a Papa Murphy's pizza and leave it in the fridge overnight before baking it the next day--the dough continues to rise! We had a coupon--could that have contributed to receiving sub par pizzas? Also, something in the pizzas had the consistency of cardboard! Honestly, a Papa Murphy's pizza would have been better!, and we say that with sorrow because we remember how delicious the one we got two years ago was! Initially, I put one star, but felt bad because I did NOT want to hurt a local business. I wanted to be nice, so I changed it to two. But, after reading your response, I had to change it back to one star. My whole family of five, which includes four grown men, agreed that the pizzas were NOT good, the dough was weird and even tasted like cardboard in some spots. I still want to be nice despite the dismissive response, and find a way to give the benefit of the doubt, so for the sake of other customers I am thinking that you will get a better pizza earlier in the day. In a particularly fresh mood I might venture for a big, New York Style, slice. I went to Mountain Mikes today. Ordered a large half "Mount Veggiemore" and half "Robber's Roost" I could have gone here a long time ago...made it my thing...shared with family and friends... but I didn't We all have regrets. Mountain Mikes crust is firm, and thick... it tastes like a good quality bread. The toppings, mostly veggies, are piled high to the point that it resembles an open-faced sandwich.
