Usually this specific Mountain Mikes is on the adequate side, decent food at average prices, but now I think twice about going here. On my last visit I ordered ahead of time ,online at 6:00pm, with the intention of picking the pizza up around 6:20 as the website states there is a 15-20 minute wait time. When I got to the Moraga Mountain Mikes at 6:20 I was asked to sign the receipt, something I thought was reasonable considering I ordered online with a credit card. What is unreasonable is that after signing the receipt I was told my pizza would be ready in 15 minutes and here's the zinger. I didn't get the pizza in the next 15 minutes, instead getting it at 7:01, a full hour after ordering. No apology, no acknowledgement that they had made a mistake, nothing. Here's a quick list why I won't be returning and why I advise you not to visit either; 1. Customer service: Don't expect any. 2. Wait time: Be prepared to spend your time, valuable or not, waiting. 3. Good pizza can be found elsewhere: Perhaps Patxi's Pizza would appreciate my time and patronage more. read more

I'm very disappointed in our choice for pizza tonight. The crust was like plain white bread, and our garlic cheese sticks were a poor excuse for cheese or garlic. Don't buy pizza here. Since new owners have taken over this business a few months ago, their service has gone from good to terrible. The pizza quality is still good, but customer service is not. It took us over an hour to get our pizzas today, when told that such would be 20 minutes. We were not the only ones experiences these problems, as more than 10 others were told 15-20 minutes and they lost pizza orders, told "sorry" and many other excuses. They provided a super separate party area so we could have an activity and the parents could hang out. This place absolutely does not give a s*#t and it shows. Soooo disappointing because the Mountain Mike's less than 10 miles away in Walnut Creek is delicious. When the closest Mountain Mike's used to be in Walnut Creek, this used to be my favorite pizza place. Thus, when I found out there was going to be a Mountain Mike's even closer to my home town, I'm was pretty excited. That excitement was soon transformed into oh so bitter disappointment as I took my first bite of this piece of crap pizza. I wondered to myself, "how could such good pizza go so wrong?" Well, upon investigating further and going down to the pizza shop, it became pretty apparent. The staff down there doesn't care at all. When I walked in the door, they were all hanging out in the kitchen having a good old time, ignoring all the customers in the restaurant. For those of you who might think this was a fluke, I've had the unfortunate experience of picking pizza up here for other members of my family who, out of desperation more than anything, have continued to order from here. Though I continue to refuse to eat here, I've done my family duty and picked pizza up here on numerous occasions and the staff is almost always nowhere to be found. If their pizza was decent, I wouldn't care what their staff was doing, but the lack of effort shows. EVERY single time my family orders from here, there is almost no cheese and the toppings appear to have been thrown on the pizza from a great distance. I had the absolute worst customer experience here. Before ringing up my credit card, I asked how much I would be charged. I was verbally given one price, and charged another. When I brought this fact up, the employee refused to honor the price he had given me. He continued to lie to me about what his name was (Connor- not Carlos) and lied to me about speaking to a manager. When I further pressed for a refund, he finally gave it to me, but said, "Here it is, DON'T COME BACK!". Crappiest service I've ever experienced! Ordered three pizzas with a "buy two get one free" coupon and was even told over the phone that the third pizza would be free. As soon as they were delivered we realized they had charged us for the third. We returned to Mountain Mike's in Moraga after a long absence. We love it now! My husband and I eat there twice a month for lunch. It's always clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Best of all, we love the pizza. We always get a medium pepperoni with extra cheese and it's delicious. One time our daughter called ahead and picked up pizzas to bring to our house--hot and yummy. Another time we had a giant, mountain size, delivered when we had guests for dinner--right on time, hot, and delicious. We are big fans of Mountain Mike's in Moraga. read more

Worst customer service possible. It has happened on at least 3 occasions in the past, but finally got to a point where I had to write a review. Slow delivery times, terrible management, and just decent pizza. Tonight, ordered a pizza for delivery and tried to use a coupon they sent via email. Said the "specialty" pizza I ordered wasn't a specialty and the coupon wasn't valid for my order. I order pizza from Mountain Mike's at least once a week. Their pizza is better than Round Table's and their price is better than other pizza joints in Moraga. Most of the time, my pizzas arrive within 45 minutes. However, when I order on Friday nights during their rush hour (between 5PM-6:30PM), it takes little bit longer. Their customer service has always been better than average for me. I think these negative reviewers rush to leave a nasty review based on a single bad incident, which is not decent. This restaurant's management is beyond me. The person who claims to be the "owner" is horrible at customer service. Sometimes they agree to deliver personal pizzas and other times they don't. I'm not sure how restaurants operate but I'm sure it doesn't include hanging up on customers when they're trying to order, letting them know they don't understand how restaurant businesses work and telling them arrogantly that their order will talk an hour and a half to be delivered. I'm usually not the person to leave yelp reviews and this is actually my first one and this is because I was beyond amused by their terrible customer service. All I can say is they have gone WAY down hill. I ordered a pizza and some mozzerella sticks for my daughter and the mozzerella sticks look like they had been microwaved in the cardboard box and they were also stuck to the box. Then on top of that, my daughter took one bight and they were actually moldy. on the underside of the mozerella sticks there was black mold. I will NEVER eat there or order take out again! read more

I DO NOT eat Pizza, and haven't in 25 years. I eat VERY HEALTHY FOOD and usually Pizza is not considered all that healthy, however my friend heard that they have gluten-free pizza, and since I have wheat allergies I decided to try it. The past couple of times I've been here both the food and the service have been great. However, this last time we were rung up by the owner. When they brought out our pizza, he missed one of the toppings while ringing us up and when my friend brought it to his attention he vehemently denied missing it, saying he never told him that we wanted it on our pizza instead of doing something to correct the mistake. When I'm at work I usually order from Mountain Mikes in Moraga. The last time they forgot the ranch I specifically told them NOT to forget. I just ordered a pizza today. Cost me $25.00 bucks. On the phone I specifically told the guy that they forgot the ranch last time and NOT to forget it this time & to add LOTS of peppers. The delivery guy gets here and once again, they didn't add in the ranch & only put in 3 small pepper packs for a large combo. I asked the delivery guy where the ranch was. He just said, "I don't know, I'm just the delivery guy." So I called them up and let them know that this is the second time they didn't fill the order right. The guy on the phone was like, "Oh I'm sorry." He didn't offer to bring some or anything." Then I open up the box and under the pizza was a grease pit. It was so greasy it was starting to leak through the bottom of the box. I took pictures of it. The crust was spongy from all the grease. I choked down a couple pieces but it was so bad I couldn't eat it. I called again to let them know that it was inedible. The same guy on the phone just said he'd tell the cook and the manager. I highly doubt that. They offered NOTHING to make it right. They didn't offer to replace it or anything. So, I'm going to personally go in there later & bring the grease pit pizza back to try and get a refund. Seriously disappointed in such bad customer service. If it weren't $25 bucks I'd just forget it & throw the pizza in the garbage, but in this economy to treat yourself once in a while is a big deal to many people.
