I've been here a couple of times throughout the years and it has been a little hit and miss for me which always makes me second guess coming. The ingredients are always super fresh and the staff is very friendly, which is a big plus. The last time I went I got the veggie sandwich. Can't believe I have lived in TO for over five years and it was the first time I've tried this place. Place was packed on some sort of trivia night with a long line out the door, thought there was no way I was going to get them on a good day with attentive service but boy was I wrong! Had their salmon and it was phenomenal! Even tried their tropical slaw, and those Peruvian shortbread cookies with the caramel in between are to die for. I am reviewing Mouthful Eatery again after many years (I think 10 years). This place has been a Yelp favorite in the past and has remained so consistent over the years. They have expanded so much (most people probably don't remember how small they were), and Thousand Oaks Boulevard has evolved (though not enough). They have added a dinner menu, evening events, and really become a local favorite. But really, they still excel as a top-notch lunch joint. The interior decor is fun and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience. The service is great, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. You might even run into Chef Luis Sanchez, which is always a treat. It is pretty hard to select from all their great choices, but I have started going for the bowls. This week, I went for the La Sarita. I am often conflicted between this and the Crispy Pork, and it did not disappoint. This time I had Lomo Salado which is a Peruvian dish of steak strips tomatoes and onions mixed with French fries (standard in Peruvian cooking) stir fried with a Chinese sauce. It's the #1 dish in Peru. It was the best I've had. Lots of flavor. My wife had a huge chicken salad. My wife loved it. For food highly recommended. Interior is informal with some shared tables. There is a small picnic table in the rear for dining but since the first time we were there they have added a shaded outdoor dining area in the front. The entire restaurant was extremely clean which is important to me. You order at the cashier from a bulletin board style menu. There is a smaller menu of daily specials. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but they had a lot of stuff for vegetarian and vegan diets. They have soft drinks and draft beer. Prices are reasonable. After you've ordered they bring your meals quickly to your table. Staff and the owner were very friendly. Handicapped accessible.
