Atmosphere 10/10 The views right on the lake are absolutely beautiful. I love the live music here and the overall vibe feels serene and peaceful despite how busy it gets. The location alone makes this place special and worth visiting. Service 7/10 The staff is okay but not very warm or especially service-oriented. On more than one occasion, I have asked for something simple like a straw or a napkin and was met with a bit of attitude. It is not terrible, but it is not standout service either. Coffee and Bakery 7/10 The coffee and bakery items are good but nothing extraordinary. Nice to enjoy with the view, but not the main reason I come here. I once brought my laptop here to work and I would not recommend it for that. The wifi is terrible and it is usually very noisy. This place is always crowded with lots of people. Super cool location to do some remote working. It's right on the water, so you have cool view. There is also PLENTY of seating and parking (I recommend parking across the street). I went around noon on Monday. There was a line, but it moved quickly and I got my coffee even quicker! It was ready about two minutes after I ordered. I sat inside and multiple tables were free. They were all clean too. The coffee is a little expensive ($8 before tip) but I like to view it as I'm paying "rent" to stay and work. I would definitely come back. read more

AMAZING. Have been here many times in the past, and just now getting to review it. I ordered a Macchiato, and a chocolate croissant, and it was done perfectly in every way. The ambiance is relaxing with the breeze and the view of the lake, makes it perfect for any occasion. The service is great, our order came out in minutes, and they were very kind. Mozarts is always a great place for coffee and a snack. They usually have live music and outdoor seating with a good view of the lake. The one negative is how popular the place is, if you are there anytime after 8 am it's usually packed and you will have to park in the extra oyster restaurant parking lot and walk over (4 min walk), after the walk the line is usually out the door and stretched all the way around the shop, even when the line is short they move pretty slow and you can expect probably 10-15 minutes to get your food. It is definitely a great place to go if you're not in a rush! Matcha and ham+ cheese croissants never disappoint. Stopped by this place on my way out of Austin. It was the perfect way to end my trip! It was a beautiful day out, the sun glistened perfectly on the water, and there was a singer/guitarist playing renditions of our favorite tunes. It was so serene. We go inside to place our orders. The process was quick! It took less than 5 mins to order and receive our food. I tried both the bacon & cheddar and spinach & cheese quiche, as my friend and her mother raved about them. The crust on the quiche was homemade and delicious. They were also a pretty good size. I enjoyed the spinach one more, but I liked that the bacon one had hints of peppers, zucchini even, etc. it enhanced the flavor. Where it fell short was the amount of fat from the bacon/the kind of bacon used. I didn't enjoy the taste, but everything else about it was good. I also tried the green chile chicken empanada. It was so flaky and buttery. It was like an adult hot pocket but better lol. I would've loved more cheese or something creamy on the inside so it didn't feel like I was just eating chicken and bread because then it starts to feel a little dry, but it came with a light salsa as well which was pretty good. It's also huge! This might've been my favorite thing on the menu. After we ate, we sat by the water, watched the boats pass and enjoyed the live performance. A famous coffee shop by the water! I always love coming here whenever I visit Austin, especially during the winter whenever there's Christmas lights. It can get pretty crowded but service is pretty efficient. The drinks aren't the best thing in the world here but they do get the job done. I tried a chai latte here and you could taste the chai flavor well enough, but we did doctor it up a bit by adding some coffee and extra milk as it was a bit too sweet. Mozart has become a Christmas must with my friends and I. I always get one of their holiday drinks and would rate them 7/10 but the light show, vibes and friendly staff makes the experience 10/10. Would also like to note that I had an issue with a return (didn't get a receipt) at their store and their costumer service was top notch. Seriously the manager was willing to work with me to insure I got my money back and I appreciated that. They have indoor and outdoor options, live music on occasion and restrooms are somewhat clean. We went to the movies on the water at Mozart's last week and it was a fun experience, but I definitely wish there was more space on the water for people to float. They were playing the movie "50 first dates" and we showed up really excited to watch the movie but we showed up 15 min before the movie started, which I suppose was kind of late. When we got there, the water area in front of the screen was packed and there was no more space for us to float with our own tubes that we had brought. We ended up going down the road a bit and finding a dock to float on instead. The people who showed up ready to sit at a table seemed to have a good time and an easy experience with the movies on the water, but maybe bringing your own tube isn't the best idea. Tried and true favorite local spots to come and hang out of all time. Mozarts is unique because there are no other coffee shops with a view of Lake Austin that hold this charm. There is seating inside, but the best seats are outside on the lakeside. I have come to mozarts for a numerous of occasions. From first dates, studying, showing friends and family from out of town a slice of Austin, and now the holiday lights show. There is ample seating with tasty pastries, empanadas, quiche, and coffee! It can get quite busy, so if you want to study, come earlier in the day and bring headphones. Chillin by day, action by night is how I would describe the atmosphere. The views and vibes of Mozart never get old. In October they had an F1 popup event, followed by a fall festival, in December they have a holiday festival that now entails boat rides, a light show with music, etc. I appreciate that they are always trying to keep up with the flourishing events of the city. read more

Tip: Get the snickerdoodle! I wasn't impressed with my draft latte the first time I went, but I enjoyed the pastries. We got a chocolate chip cookie and lemon meringue tart. They both had a nice balance of sweetness to them. The sugar cookies in the front are so cute too. I went again and got a snickerdoodle which was AMAZING and a croissant cookie, which was also good warmed up. I wish they had all the lights on already, but it looks like they don't turn on the Christmas lights until the end of November. The performer outside on Friday had a wonderful voice, but the weather was so wild and too windy, so we had to leave. When I'm back in Austin next month I can't wait to see the lights on! We have been coming to motzarts for quite some time, however over the last few years it has gotten quite popular and packed! Especially during the event days. We attended the exotics and coffee. They had a nice display of cars and great festive decor for the up coming holidays, along with live music. If you want to enjoy anything on the inside the line gets long very early so it's always a long wait. We opted to grab coffee from the outdoor stand in the parking lot as it seemed to be moving quickly with a lot less people. Once we ordered we waited nearly 20 minutes to actually get our one coffee. It seemed very unorganized and all the patrons were confused if they were actually grabbing their order or someone else's . I would suggest maybe taking names for the orders or giving an order number? There was people who ordered way after us just walking up and taking drinks.... There were so many that just ordered a hot or iced latte there's no way to decipher who's is who's. However staff was kind and working as quickly as they could . Flavor is hot or miss I've noticed the past few times which wasn't a issue when they were a bit slower, not sure if the staff is skipping steps and being careless to speed things up or if it's the baristas who are making it but this time around my coffee was perfect consistency and flavor! I bought tickets for three people for like $52 in advance as they were sold out night of. Your ticket buys you tables or upper deck stadium style seating. If you buy a table, you have an up front and center view of the performing stage. There was plenty of parking across the street from Mozart. And shows end as one begins so people were always leaving. Also parking was free. It was PACKED. I never stepped foot into the actual coffee shop because security was blocking it off making sure to confirm if you were confirmed for the roasters or the Festival of Lights event. You will check in, in the front of the event to get your wristband and then you can roam the grounds. There were a couple of stations that were offering pretzels, pretzel bun sliders and then EVERYONE had the burnt marshmallow cream topped hot chocolate. They had a few different flavors to choose from. This same kiosk was inside and outside the event so it was basically accessible to the public even if you didn't have tickets to the event. They had a light up stage that had Christmas decorations projected on it and the kids were stomping all over it as it changed and then there were a few places for photo ops like a big tree and a couple arches. Once you get inside, we had reservations at table 14. I thought they were good seats. McKenna Michel was commissioned to do this years event for evening for six weeks. She sang many Christmas songs and then there was a fire show that happed on a stage on the water but shown on the megatron. This is what I'm going to say... Austin TX is a particular place. I think they are great at creating something out of nothing and many people recommended I take my family here during the holidays. My family is all adults and we didn't find the value in it. But I think there are people who do and will, especially if you have kids who like singalongs. I did enjoy singing along to the songs! McKenna tells the story of the nutcracker. If I did it over, I'd eat at Quince early like 5pm and then I'd do a lake boat tour on those cute little water taxis that you can hitch a ride at right on the pier outside the deck of Quince. Then as a night cap I'd ether visit Mozarts actual business for a night cap AND/OR get dessert at the holiday food kiosk. Last comment, there were so many areas that smells like hot garbage as we walked on the premises before our showtime. Lots of bad smells, even in their immediate parking area. They keep all the restaurants garbage bins in the round about of the parking and you smell it as soon as you cross into their driveway. Not pleasant. It doesn't smell inside the event, but unpleasant first impression. read more

Let me start by saying 5 stars to the kind staff!! I came here for the free movie night thursdays tonight and unfortunately had to leave the movie 20 minutes before it ended due to the fact that as soon as the sun goes down it is infested with cockroaches. I was sitting at a picnic table on the dock when I noticed one, and soon after saw 5 more accompany it. This is not a small problem either as the roaches were VERY comfortable. Mozarts Coffee Roasters in the past used to put on a holiday light show with music and used to remember few knew about it but gained popularity over time. This year things have changed where now called the Lake Austin Festival. The old light show is gone but still have holiday lights everywhere. You will need to purchase tickets to enter and offer social experiences like reserving an Immersive Lights Igloo Experience, ride Donut Boats, and ride shared & private boat cruises. If just experiencing the coffee shop then you can get in line to enter where will find a social menu of holiday drink and food items, gifts, and can sit inside or outside in the back by the lake. If you want to avoid waiting then there is a bar under the deck in the back. The place was very packed and surprise they did not place a NO LAPTOPS policy in place where there was a whole room of single people on laptops taking tables away from paid customers looking for a place to sit. Perhaps turn off the WiFi too. The brownie I had was a bit dry with no frosting on it and the coffee was ok but did have a nice scent to it. I tried the s'mores hot chocolate and was good. Recommend arriving before the sun sets to find a parking spot across the street. Parking is free. read more

Came for a quick brunch! I ordered the spinach and feta empanada and went for the bottomless coffee. The empanada looked good, no doubt, but it still exceeded my expectations. After being heated up, the pastry was warm and fluffy. The saltiness of the feta balanced the creamy spinach and the buttery taste from the pastry perfectly. There was a line nearly out the door shortly after we ordered. They had a bunch of delicious specials available for April. I tried the Bunny's Brew first, and then ordered the Robin's Egg for my second visit. There was a lovely view by the water. If we didn't already have plans, I would've loved to have stopped by one of their float-in movie nights. They were showing some of my childhood-favorites (The Parent Trap and Shrek 2). One of our family's favorite spots to relax and enjoy! We don't tend to come on holidays or when there are huge crowds so we have never experienced any lines or wait times. We absolutely love it here! The coffee is so good and we usually grab a bag or two and bring them back home with us. We love to take our coffee out onto the back porch and just watch the water and boats and eat a yummy croissant and bagel! Their bfast tacos have also been a hit with the family! Parking is pretty easy as there's a parking lot next to the shop and also more across the street with a protected cross walk.
